How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).

I'm on the DNC and have had my number since Oct 2010. They still keep calling over and over asking for someone who does not live here. I have told them to remove my number just to get another call a few hours later for the same person. So frustrating!!!!
Simply put, it's a scam number with a variety of 'fundraisers' and you never know which lie to expect from them. Also, I attribute these boiler room bottom feeders to Tax Slayer. I haven't received a single phishing or spam call this year until 3 days after filing my taxes on line, then BAM, I'm getting 3 per day, minimum. Coincidence? Not likely. I also created a new email account called taxslayerxxx@xxx.net that I used in filing my taxes with them. Wouldn't you know it, I'm getting about 9 spams a day in it along with my tax filing correspondence from taxslayer. Can't trust anyone these days.

Didn't leave a message; just annoyed me that they call, roll into my answering machine and then I get to hear the dial tone on the "message" they left. Nice, huh?
Caller hung up before my answering machine would have picked up.
They called me on my cell which I don't give the number to except individuals I want to have it. From the info here, I will have to be agressive on getting my number off their list.

I pity them now, Linda! You've found that commercial fundraisers have this quaint notion that ''no-call'' demands should conveniently expire just before the next beggar call campaign. It's not clear which call center is using this number, but when you get a name and address, drop a cease-comm letter on their heads, sent USPS CMRR.
This is what I did to that industry gorilla InfoCision a few weeks back. I had demanded addition of my numbers to the master no-call list, since this one boiler room has called here for at least eight so-called charity groups. I also requested a copy of the company's do-not-call policy. I cited no laws to them, but their execs are aware they owe me either that policy or $500. Future calls are ''knowing and willful'', worth $1500 apiece. I haven't heard a peep since.

Called at 845 pm does not leave a message
I answered "Hello", they never said anything, then hung up. They've done this to many other people, based on the feedback I'm seeing on other similar websites.
Caller ID says "not provided" but they call and then do not leave a message on answering machine but hang up when it kicks on. I'm still on registry so they shouldn't be calling. I don't plan to answer as long as I see their number on caller ID and hope it stops soon.
called our business and asked for an unknown person. told person on other end that this is "fill in the blank' business. female on other end said would take number they callled off their calling list

said they represented a group of charitable organizations and wanted a donation. Charitable organizations are exempt from the do not call list
They call every day, sometimes more than once. When the answering machine picks up they hang up. We are on the DNC list.
When answered-no one on the other end. Would like not to answer BUT most of these annoying calls will just let the phone keep ringing!
Call all the time morning nights weekends. Never give anyone money to these people! Lots of ways to donate without being harassed. If I can donate I will call you.

A lady called me this morning and when I told her that the person she wanted wasn't available, she hung up on me.

After reading some of the messages here, it's easy to see why these dirt bags continue to hassel people. Apparently not ever answering a call from unknown callers never dawns on some folks. Maybe everyone should drop anon (a message poster listed below) and that that person for keeping these jerks in business. So, people keep chatting with them and they keep calling. Sure...tell them you want them to remove you from their list...see how well that works out for you. Wow!!!!!!!! In the mean time, I have a good land deal for you that needs a little drainage issue fixed.

It is a scam. A boiler room setup you here in the back ground. Other people talking on phone. Hang up right a way. Do not let them give you a speal. The Scammer knows how to get around the "Charity" called which a low to make calles for Charity on the National no call list.

866-498-7690 asked for a specific person in the home. If this was for a real charity, that would not have happened. Being a "Charity" organization is a front for a spammer in this case, IMO.
After they called 3 days in a row I finally got someone and they did not hang up. It was a Dearborn Islamic Center pushing for donations for a new cultural center in Dearborn, Michigan. Being a Christian I told them to take me off their list.

its DAV (disabled american veterans) soliciting household goods. they got my # BEFORE I had it & thier auto system will BUG & BUG you & if you call to take your # off they dont do it

Extremely annoying! Call 3-4 times daily and at night till 9pm. Never leave a message and I never pick up.
Call looking for donations for a local animal rescue. Asked if they could send an invoice and envelope for me to return a donation in. Sure! Send anything you want. Maybe I'll donate. Maybe I won't. I will most certainly check your organization out first, though.
