936 calls reported from this number. According to 116 reports the identity of this caller is sprint
How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

this number is for clear breeze solutions a pure financial scam billing for 990 for software an truly bad customer service.
I wish these call would stop
This is Sprint trying to sell additional cell phone services. You can ask them to stop calling, but they won't. So I suggest entering this number into your CELL PHONE phone book and setting a "Custom Ring" of "none" or "silent" if you have that option. That way they can call all they like and you'll never be bothered by them again. If Sprint has something really important to tell you then they can leave a message on your voicemail.
Don't call if you don't have anything to say
i got the call thay said thay was calling about my plan. i started to say i dont wanna change it and was hungup before i said it talked to sprint thay said would not have been them and not to give the caller any info thay call again.
is there anyway to block this number? I get a call at least once a day from this 86 number
Sprint for those of us who has an account...want to know if we would like to add a line, or upgrade in any way....when does it end?
This call has been coming into my cell phone for several weeks now and at least 3x a week. Its very annoying!
fishy call if really from Sprint.
Since upgrading my phone I've gotten calls from this number off and on for the past 2 months. I've tried to answer twice but there's no one on the other end. Another website lists this as some group associated as Sprint making marketing calls but I don't know.
They called offering me an additional line for my Sprint account. Claimed the call wouldn't affect my anytime minutes but it was from an 866 number. Once I denied the additional line they pestered me for a laptop connection card. The woman had a thick accent and was difficult to understand at times.
Twice in the last few days this number has called my cellphone. No caller ID just the phone number appears. I chose not to answer. No message was left on my voice mail during either call.
Called the number back - it's Sprint - and I joined the do not call me with promotions list. I had to do the same about 6 months ago, and the calls stopped for awhile. They do switch numbers on you, so it is advised to listen to the message and opt out of the call list - otherwise they will absolutely harass the hell out of you. I don't know another company that treats its longstanding customers as badly as Sprint - they are also famous for handing out great promotions to new customers and refusing to give same to their existing customers. That said, I can't seem to find a service as good as theirs.
I have a Sprint phone, 1st time I received a call from this # was today, looked it up and here I am ,hopefully they stop, from what I have I read here, I will not go on there DNC list due to increased callbacks, thanks info the info pple
Got about 12 calls from this # now and to the person who said sprint doesn't call their customers i've gotten lots of calls about upgrading my plan from sprint. so if thats what they are telling you then BS I don't trust them at all.
Sounds Like there is an issue with this Number i don't answer it. but it really needs fixing.
I called back - it is a promotional call from Sprint to add a line
I googled the number because I don't received 866 numbers on my cell. I just let it ring.
As many times as I've received a call from this number, this is the first time I've gotten through. Supposedly, this number is for Sprint and it is for "customers looking to buy a new phone or add a line". I have received this call more and more as the end of my contract nears this January.
After calling Sprint customer service 3 times and spending over an hour on hold during the course of those calls I finally got ahold of a supervisor that seemed to care. I referred him to this website. He confirmed that it is Sprint making the calls and is supposed to be escalating the resolution of these harrassing calls.
Same as others reported - it was sprint trying to sell a second line.
Same thing as all the rest. unknown caller, no message, constantly calling
Hey me too. But it was the other way around. My hubby was all excited. Then they call at like 10:00 pm and I told them he was sleeping. They instructed me to wake him right away so he could pay for additional fees b4 the offer expired. What an idiot. I played along to get more info. And the stupid hag tried to tell me we would not recieve the offer if we did not except it when she called us. And also that she did not have a # to call her back on. This way the call is free for us. Hello if she really knew all of our acct. info. she would know I don't pay long distance. I hate these a- holes. The sad thing is that my husband was actuallygoing to pay for this with his debit card. Glad I answered to question them.
I received numerous tel calls from 866 4633021 and got suspicious when they told me that my husband ordered a new phone for me ( he did not)but that I was not eligible for some additional services etc.etc.
Called Sprint this morning, after the usual tel call ( and after sending the guy who called to hell) and spoke to their frod dept. Sprint told me that the number does not belong to them.
it's sprint trying to get us to sign up for another phone line, they continue to call despite me saying DO NOT CALL.
I got a call today as a missed call. No caller ID. I figure this is Sprint. I am going to call them. I believe they can block this number. I had them do it before but now I got a new phone and the number has showed up again.
We should all cancel our Sprint service like 200,000 people did last quarter
This number called me this afternoon. It was Sprint asking if I wanted to take advantage of special offers for exisiting customers to add a line to my account. NOT INTERESTED!
Sprint DOES NOT call its customers. This is a scam.
For cell phones dial *2 and contact a customer service rep. Tell them that you got called from this number. Monitor your account. Give them this number for a FRAUD ALERT.
This number has called me 3 or 4 times... didn't leave a message.
They keep calling everyday...no message...hang up every time I answer.
After calling and complaining for hours to sprint I was given this number to cal: 1-800-865-7786. Choose the touch-tone prompt that says to not share your # with any of sprint's affiliated companies. I've been getting calls from that # for 2 years now. I hope this works.
who calling me from this number i like to know.
This # most likely is not Sprint but claims to be. They are apparently trying to run off Sprint customers and/or adding your number to a "call" list for telemarketers. I have read here that many who add there name to a Do Not Call list end up getting more calls, so beware! I did call Sprint and complained about the number 866-463-3021. Apparently this is just an extension of the 3020 number.
Sprint customer service said they would "try" to do something. I said "this phone number is alll over the net - tell your manager about this complaint.
She said "will take care of it.
I too call the number back to add myself to the do not call list of Sprint. I am still getting calls on my cell phone!
If you are a Sprint or Nextel customer they have the right to call even if you are on the DNC list. You have to call THEM and tell them to stop, make sure you make note of the date and time of call as it's not working for me- they keep calling my cell. Am closing my account as soon as my contract is up!!
Foriegner said he was calling from sprint, offering free services, then proceeded to ask me about my account. If he was from sprint, he would already know about my account.
very weird. lady said they can give me discount but that they will have to verify account? she then hung up on me. ?WTF??
When I answer I just get silence. Call backs send me international?? Curse you Sprint!
This is number is from Sprint. They cold-called me to try and get me to 'add another line' for free (when I upgraded my plan and signed a new 2 year service agreement). Sprint sucks.
DO NOT enter YOUR number on their take us off your list option.
It just makes your number come up on caller ID to the next caller.
Switched carriers yesterday. My contract was up with sprint/nextel and didn't like the way I was treated, so I cancelled.
Very next day, they start calling.
It is Sprint/Nextel. They were trying to upgrade me to add a line. I asked them to take me off of their call list and she complied with no issues.
This again was Sprint. But when I called back, it was an offer to add additional lines of service to my plan. What a waste of my 30 seconds! =)
1 to 2 calls per day... there should be a call block function on this phone? It has all sorts other useless things
im already with SPRINT/NEXTEL they call at least 3 time a day between 9am and 2pm frm 8664633021.whats up.?
Check out this website on telemarketers:
telemarketingfaq.com
If your like me i keep getting the same phone calls everyone else has been getting. Sounds bad but every night after i get my free calling i call them back press 5 to talk to the rep and wait till they are done with they are saying and basically tell them one thing to "go fcuk yourself" and I hang up.
Theresa,
what number you called the rep, I was informed to call 877-365-6413 (sprint customer service line) the guy said will remove my number from calling list, but it will take 30 days! to process. still get this F* call everyday!
got a rep that said calls could be stopped by removing the option on my account. It was simple. No more calls
866-463-3019...i think they are all the same.
got lots of phone calls from them from 3019, 3020, 3021 (last four digits of ph#).
It's not nextel or sprint. It's scammers trying to get your information. So if they call you, don't give them any info.
Very annoyed!!
I have received four of these calls but have answered none of them.I can't believe that there is no real way to stop them
Yesterday I pressed 6 to remove my #. After another call I called them and pressed 5 to add a service, then I got a person. Asked to be removed again. Will see if it worked
Yeah, it definitely is sprint. The funny thing is, they must not have been paying attention as they left me a nice long voicemail with nothing but LOTS of background noise. Sounds like they are having a party at the callcenter!!
No VM and no answer when I called it.
Yep...called me, too. Just one time so far. Nobody on the line...just hangs up.
866-463-3021 they call, you answer, they give you their promotional speal which is recorded of course. Our phone accounts should be able to block certain numbers like how our email blocks spam calls.
This actually a call from one of their Partner/Distributors a Sprint Authorized Agent.
Usaully a cell phone store would have this status.
They will offer you the Moon and deliver little, never buy from one of these callers.
We are reproting them again to Sprint today.
Waste of time trying to figure who called in case it was important! WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME!!!
just hangs up when i picked it up
How annoyed I am... I was "provisioned" to be removed from direct calling on 3/8/07 & 4/25/07.
They continue to call from either of these numbers thus far:
866-463-3021 &
866-862-3983
UGH!
I recieved the call while my phone was turned. I called the number back and received a machine which told me who they were and what they wanted. Also If you do not want them calling you unless you are one of there customers put your name on the DO NOT CALL list. If you are a customer one of the contract agreements are you accept any advertising from them for this stuff. Which really is not that much anyways.
Sprint calling to try to upsell me. They call a lot and won't take a hint.
These calls ARE from Sprint/nextel. I have contacted them many times via email and have kept all replies from them. Suggest you and others file complaints with feds and contact CNN. Today they did a peice on how Sprint dropped customers who were an annoyance!
I DO NOT think this is Sprint. *I'm pretty sure it is a Phishing scam.* I think this mainly because a telemarketer would not request my password to upgrade my service.
I called Sprint customer service about it, and they seemed to agree.
Again, putting yourself on the DNC or on Sprint's "Do Not Call" is pointless to stop these calls. It is not Sprint (hence Sprint's DNC does not help) nor are they a legitimate business (thus they don't honor the National DNC list).
Again: It's NOT SPRINT!!
Read the above sentence again.
Here it is again for convenience:
*SPRINT IS NOT CALLING YOU. YOU ARE BEING PHISHED.*
Thanks
jason.
They keep calling me trying to offer a "better plan" and a "free phone."
uh, sure....
Another reason to hate Sprint. Need I say more?
How annoying. I thought I signed up to not have my number given out. But, apparently my own company calls to sell me something on my cell phone.
They ought to not bother their customers.
Just got this call, first time. And like some of you, reading all these complaints worries me. If they want to take up time and money on my phone, they should bloody well pay for it themselves.
please contact: schneiderwallace.com they are attorneys who handle cases like this. f they get enough responses, they will take case.
Getting really sick of this, they call 5 times a week. I have asked to be on the DNC list 5 times.
I now have a personal vendetta against Sprint. I just contacted 311 and will report them to Department of Consumer Affairs.
I posted earlier. I will report them to the Consumer Protection Hotline of the FTC in the morning. I will post the results and number afterward. We must all do the same. CID # 866-463-3021
I have been on DNC since 2003. It is Sprint that calls. They call every day for about 2 months after requesting them to stop. Then it re-occurs after about a year passes. Visit stopjunkcalls.com i will procede to take them to court.
The guy was lying. He pretended to be the sprint customer service and wanna offer me some promotions, and ask me to verify the personal information. But when I call the Spring customer service to verify his promotion, it proved his was lying.
Thanks for the DNC info. I called the number back and entered that option.
they keep calling both my and my husband's cell. We've asked them to not call back and remove us, but the calls continue. They seem to know everything about our service, our latest bill, etc. However if you try to call back it doesn't go thru. It's really annoying.
I filed a complaint with CA's State Attorney General's Office and got Sprint to send me a letter stating that I am placed on their internal Sprint do-not call list. That was a reasonable resolution to the spam calls I get from this Sprint toll-free number, but it appears to only last about 3 months.
Now I get calls about once a day, and I finally called the number back and follow the key prompt to remove myself from their calling list. Nothing has changed and I actaully answered the call and voiced my complaint to one of their managers. All she can tell me is that they are sorry and that if I don't want these promotional offers to ignore the calls in the future. What kind of customer service is that!
Too bad I am not at home and have access to the letter Sprint sent me, or else I would be raising hell again. And just in case Sprint follows these posts, I am not renewing my contract in a few months and will try my luck with AT&T (with 4th best customer service level which is still better than #5 Sprint) and their iPhone.
it's sprint trying to get you to add lines, change plans..etc... lifecycle dept
They just keep calling and hang up on me when I answer. I stopped answering their calls but they call every day a couple times a day!
Sprint calling to try to get people to sign up for another line of service. When I called back I got an automated message...instructed to press 5 if I was interested in an extra line and 6 if I was not.
07-01-07
Grr...
I think it is Sprint, I have a sprint fusic, so it makes sense...sometimes I get one with a 727 area code, I live in Detroit so I never answer that one either...sick of these calls though
DNC doesn't really stop anyone from calling your number. Even if you report it, all that happens is the company who makes the call will get a phone call from DNC. DNC will tell them that there were complaints so they should stop. Then the company making the calls will apologize to DNC. Then DNC smacks the company on the hands and lets them go with unlimited warnings. The next time DNC gets another complaint about the same company they will do the same thing again. I know because I use to work for a telemarketer.
Adding your name to DNC is only a waste of time. DNC does not serve its purpose period.
No message just rings, I have do not call on this cell line.
First said they were Nextel, then said they were Sprint. Foreign male calling. Said they were calling about my bill [which I had already paid].
They just called me and I called the number back and the message said they were closed and to call back during normal business hours.
Called the number. It's a recording from Sprint. They have a prompt that tells you to push 6 if you don't want to hear about anymore promotions. I'll see if that works. If they keep calling I suggest everyone just cancel their service. Their service is the worst anyway.
This was made by a woman from India who could hardly speak English. I told her not to call again.
Why would Sprint Allow this company to be so unprofessional?? Makes me not want to re up with Sprint
Getting junk calls from this number: 866-463-3021
STOP!!!!!!!!
my suggestion is to save the number in your phone book and assign a silent ringer to it. Until they start selling phones that actually let you block numbers, this seems to be the best you can do.
I told them to STOP CALLING MY NUMBER! They have called me every day the last week. Wish I could block them!
They just keep on calling and calling. Don't leave a message
These bastards call every day, multiple times a day. I am so sick of it and can't seem to get them to stop calling. I report each and every call to donotcall.gov and that still isn't working.
You can email Sprint & ask to be put on their DO NOT CALL list: 'officeofprivacy@sprint.com'
The DNC stuff doesn't work. I tried it and I also talked to a live person who advised they would add me to the list but it could take up to 30 days for it to go through. I still get calls. However, I do get far fewer calls now. Maybe one or two a week instead of one or two a day.
I received a call from 1-866-463-3020 multiple times. I'm not sure who they are ...seems fishy.
this shit number has been calling me every night at 1030
I resent getting these annoying calls!!
They are not Sprint. Sprint would never call out of the blue and ask for your account password. These people did it.
I've been getting them for a few weeks now, but never answer. I finally called and got an automated message offering me a way to add a new phone line. I chose the "I don't want a new phone line option," so hopefully the calls will stop.
I called back just to find out who it was and it was just a promotion from Sprint. I selected that I didn't want to hear about promotions anymore. Hopefully it works but I guess it is the least of the inconveniences I have had with previous cell phone carriers
I called the number back. It is Sprint offering the chance to buy an additional line. If you call back, they will give you the option of pressing 6 to stop receiving these calls.
Got a call on my (Sprint) cell from this number (I missed it). I just added it as a number in my phone so I'll now see "Sprint advert." whenever another call comes in. Problem solved.
I got the message at about 2:00 pm MST; unavailable
This is a fraudster. They pose as sprint. They don't have any info on you except your name. Then they ask you to verify your information and that is how they get your info.
They tell you your a valued sprint customer and tell you your are eligible for a free phone. Don't believe it, it is totally a way to get your info. They also ask for your credit info to check your credit for your "NEW LINE OF SERVICE".
PLEASE BEWARE. I CALLED SPRINT *2 AND THEY SAID IT'S NOT THEM AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION.
They've been calling me for a week before I picked up the phone, I thought it was because I didn't pay my bill.
It's Sprint. I've gotten 3 of these in the past week. They're just selling stuff.
Three days in a row they've done the same thing. I promise, one more call and I'm switching networks!
I just don't answer the call when it pops up on my caller ID on my cell phone. No big deal.
Had 5 calls in the last two weeks. I won't answer.
I keep getting a call from a 866-463-3021 its drives me nuts it happens about every single week.
I was told there is a no call list for cell phones in MO
calls everyday repeatedly.
Same thing as everyone else, called back number and they said thank you for calling Sprint about this offer. I hung up. I get this once a day.
You GET THEM BACK:
Here a number to call and leave a message or email...
When a company calls me I look up their info. and harrass them back. Key is find a real person to call or contact. I've been know to call board members.

I have received 3 calls or so in the past 2 days from this number and came online to find out it was listed. I never answered it. I do have sprint service and see that a lot of people feel it is sprint. Now I feel better not answering it.
This number keeps calling me and when I answer it just hangs up. I wish there was a way to make it stop.
I want block this call from my cellphone.
I am now using vistacallerid.com Caller ID software for Vista - i had enough of this telemarketing crap and i am screening all my calls.
no one on the other line
2nd call this week
Just called Sprint at 888-788-5001 to get this number blocked and they said that it was blocked from recieving phone calls. In the mean time she said to go to donotcall.gov and register my cell phone. So I check out the site and the first thing you see on the site is a message saying you do not need to register your cell phone. I will update to let you know if the calls stopped after blocking the phone number.
Probably was a Sprint call, I missed it but they are good about calling and giving you offers that if taken extend your commitment to Sprint.
Several calls on my cell phone. No one there when I answer.
FCC complaint form is at:
svartifoss2.fcc.gov
Include a link to this page!
This is a private company that represents itself as "Sprint". If they get you to add a line they get paid from Sprint. I called the Sprint Corporate HQ and filed a complaint.
I found adviceontime.com under their section advice there is a credit section. They left a letter. i sent it to them and it worked. they stopped calling
Please and my # to the dnc list 701-258-8083
Been getting these calls for over several months on my cell. I have yet to answer any and will continue the non answer program. They can spend their wheels all they want, but will not get me and waste my time, the worthless slugs!
Damn company shouldn't even be calling at all. My number's already on their DNC list.
Support the death penalty for ALL telemarketers.
They finally stopped. It's been 3 weeks now. After a blitz of 4-5-6 calls a day during the last week of calling, in which I never answered, I guess they gave up. I never answered their calls like I do with all telemarketers and eventually they disappear.
This is Sprint/Nextel telemarketing and trying to get you to add an additional line of service. If you call the number back, it gives you the option to tell them you are not interested in any of their promotions.
After a month of these harassing calls, they have stopped. I'm not sure which thing I did worked, so I'll list them all:
1. Raised my voice or sweet-talked in about a dozen tirades with different folks at Sprint customer care, sales, retention, and technical support. Their answers ranged from 'never heard of it' to ' will take up to 30 days to stop' to 'we are working on this problem.'
2. Emails to customer care. (I don't think these helped at all.)
3. Asked to be taken off marketing list, twice in two days; second time the guy said that all but last part of the process was done, as if the previous representative messed up my request. He promised me that no calls would come the next day, but they did.
4. Entered formal complaint with Better Business Bureau of Kansas City. Soon after, the calls stopped, and I received a call from Sprint asking if the problem was solved to my satisfaction. I was grumpy, they gave me $50 of my next bill (since verified), but I asked them to consider all the people on this page and elsewhere, and that I would hold it against Sprint until the problem was solved for everyone.
My recommendation: go straight to the Better Business Bureau. They will force Sprint to solve your problem. After enough of you do it, perhaps they will shut down the rogue call center that is doing this.

I have been harrassed by Sprint now since Feb. 9th calling me 3 times a day, sometimes 20 minutes apart (this morning). I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hang up on me. When I ask them to stop calling them hang up on me. I tell them I am on a do not call list and they keep calling. I have MS and the stress of these calls are unbearable. I am numb on my left side from the stress. How can I stop them?
This is a number from sprint that is trying to upgrade you on additional phone lines
Called the 1-888-760-2478 number below. They asked for my acount passcode when I refused they were transfering me to customer service and I was "disconnected". I then sent the e-mail to the customer service e-mail below. Good luck
I had this number calling me and asking for me by name. As soon as I answered - yes, that's me - they hanged up. When they call me last time, I just answered the phone, with out waiting for them to hang up or ask for me by my name, I just told them :"Take a hide". I did not have a call from them since.
It has been over a week now since I called the number back and selected option #6 during business hours, I have not gotten calls from this number since then.
Since Etelecare seems to be the driving force behind these non-stop calls, here is their web link for thier locations:
etelecare.com
Might be better help for getting these calls to stop if Sprint isn't lefting a finger.
Yep, it's Sprint/Etelecare. And this is not the only number.
forums.wirelessadvisor.com
One more call and I'm going to Kansas City.
One more thing. If you call any of the regular Sprint numbers, they are honest when they say they do not know about this number and they do not think it is Sprint. Telesales is not Sprint, and for some reason Sprint's customer service group are not being made aware of this number. I can not tell you how many levels deep I had to go to finally get all the info. listed in the previous posting. And get this, I am fairly highly placed in one of Sprint Customer Service Groups, and I never knew about this number til my mom complained to me.
This number is NOT a Sprint number, but it is a telesales company employed by Sprint/Nextel, so it is just as bad. This method of sales was used by Nextel, and brought into the merger by them. It seems they call your phone, let it ring long enough for caller ID to work, then hang up. Obviously they figure if they annoy you enough, you will call back, hear a recording about a GREAT deal from Sprint, and happily decide you want it. (YSR)However, if you choose option 6 to be taken off the list, it normally works and the calls stop within a week.
The thing to keep in mind, for an automated system, it only works during office hours, m-f, and the call has to come from the phone number receiving the calls. So you will have to use up 1-2 anytime minutes to call back, and select option 6 to be removed. I do recommend listening to make sure it is still option 6. What was true yesterday may not be true today. Hopefully, after a few days, if not right away, the calls will stop.
Just got a call w/ no one there. I've asked Sprint to take me off their list twice...
This number started calling me the following Monday, twice a day after Jan 13th, 2007, the day I cancled my monthly insurance on my A900. I went to the local Sprint store and had one of the sale rep update my account. He gave me the typical end of the world speech for canceling my insurance. To me, I think the guy put my number on a SPRINT list so that they could call me twice everyday Monday thru Saturday. I never answered that number. Just over four weeks later, I call ed the number, first from my work phone then with my cellphone. And sure enough, it was SPRINT trying to sell added services for my cellphone. I went thru the recorded voice prompts to select no additional service with both phones. It has been two or three bussiness days and I haven't seen the that number on my cellphone. What ticks me off the most is that when I emailed SPRINT Customer Service about this two weeks in, they replied that this number is not assoiciated with them and that they couldn't do anything about it.
I called Sprint and asked them to quit calling. I was told that they could not stop people from calling my number, even though it is their company doing it.
Yesterday was a record 6 calls. Only three today.... yeaaa??? Calling back the number and dialing 6 hasn't done anything, waiting until Feb 28 to see if calling sprint makes a difference.
The blog from Karl just above this is absolutely correct. Several of my friends have also gotten ROAMING CHARGES" on their bills and they have unlimited everything. Figure they nail 1 million customers each month for $5.00 and after a year that really boosts their income. Roaming charges are free and clear income for them.
By the way...does anyone get mysterious roaming charges put on their bill, when they have made none. I get them 3-4 times a year at 75 cents a minute charge. When I call Sprint, they are almost too nice about it and immediately credit my bill. I have "Sprint Only" programmed into my cell. How do they explain the charges? "Must have jumped towers...sorry about that." Most people will pay them...another way to collect extra $$$$. Always check your bill or check via their web site to catch it early. They need to be investigated.
I'd like to see a followup from anyone person who successfully have had them stop calling.
(1) A week ago I called Sprint and told them to make this stop. They said they took me off some call list. I complained that this has been reported for months and it surprised me they have done nothing about it. The operator was not helpful.
(2) I called the number back and pressed 6 or whatever to say I don't want to be called.
I'm still getting the calls.
Think about it: Why would they continue to call even if you decline the offer? Why would Sprint tolerate this for so long? Someone at Sprint has to be familiar with this, so why can't Sprint offer more information?
This is ridiculous! I've been getting bombarded by these clowns 6-8 times a day for at least the past two weeks.
If someone has found a way to put a complete end to it let us all know.
I have called sprint two times and both times they have said that they would take my name off the list. After calling, the calls have increased in frequency. Enough is enough.
I Got a call today from the same number. But that was because the phone was left on. I know most people leave there phone on, but I for one always leave mine off and let all calls go to voicemail. It seems that if you answer the call it (the computer) checks your know for validation and thus the call keeps coming. I don't think that it is Sprint but as some posters have suggested it might be a couple of hackers that have hacked into Sprints system. Like I said for the most part I keep my phone off and check perodically through the day for Voicemail messages. If I dont want the call I simply just delete it. Just my two cents worth.
Why are they calling this number and don't leave a name?
Sprint must sense that I'm about to kick them to the curb for the new iPhone. Not that moving to Cingular is going to change the crapiness of this industry.
This is a scam to chip away at your minutes and try and sell add-on services. They suck!
I don't answer any calls from numbers not recognized, let alone toll free ones. The 866-646-3020, on my cell phone has been going on several months..starting from once a week to 6-7 times a day, now. I have it listed as "Toll Free Idiot" and that's the way the Caller I.D. shows it. I just hit the silence ringer button and then clear it. I understand that this is Sprint pushing some sort of garbage. Great way to loose a customer.
Received several calls from this number. I called them back and found out it was Sprint offering to add a line of service to my existing account. It is an automated call and press "6" to be removed from the list.
Called Sprint again to try to get this stopped. They said I would have 30 days from Jan 30 2007 until I would be ok. We'll see. I'm skeptical.. I'm done with them as a customer no matter what when my contract ends. Just got three phone calls within 2 hours. I'm sure there will be at least two more today
These people are responsible for the harassing phone calls made to me for over a month they do abandoned calls - that's why you don't hear anything on the other end, you can contact them (toll free) at:

Well well, just got one more, answered in 2 rings. "Hi, have you changed your Sprint service recently?" Oh I hope they were esorry they asked because I started right in with, "I'm sorry, what number are you calling from again?" "Oh, we don't have a number." "I see... well your number is coming up the same as it did ten minutes ago, this 866 number, and my patience is just about at an end with you!" Told them they had better stop calling me, period. I'm tired of being pestered in the middle of my breakfast, in the middle of my meetings, in the middle of my workday, in the middle of my dinner, and in the middle of my Saturday at the mall. I also walloped the operator with the fact that there are many, many of us who are sick of getting these 866 calls, and we are not going to take it anymore. Sick of it? Try answering in 2 rings, then laying into them. Maybe they will get the hint, finally. Keep you posted.
Been getting calls from this number daily for months. Reporting it to Sprint PCS's fraud dept if they ever pick up the phone. Thanks to this website I know I'm not alone and this has to stop!!
Will tell you all how it goes... if they ever answer... ick, their muzak sounds like a cheap adult film soundtrack.
I kept getting these calls and I never answered them. I just put in the search engine the number and came up with this website. I see I am not alone on this number calling. I figure if I don't know the number, I don't know the person calling so I never picked up. I thought too it was Sprint, but then I thought why would Sprint be calling me and not leaving a message? So they call sometimes and they are not bothersome right now.
This is not Sprint calling, it is a scam. I sent an email notifying Sprint of this issue and this is the response that I got:
-------------------
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I understand your concern regarding the unwanted incoming calls.

I've already been called by 866-463 twice after I received this email. I'm not sure exactly what steps Sprint is taking, but considering this has been going on for a year now it's safe to say that they're not doing enough.
wtf sprint idiots
someone please take note and do something for us. This is annoying
I've also been getting calls from this number several times a day for the past couple of weeks. I've answered and asked them not to call again, but to no avail. Verizion is starting to look good...
we've gotten about 30 since early january Sprint psc doesn't seem to care

Mind you I called the number back yesterday and told them to stop.
I have never had a problem with sprint in the 9 years or more that I have had them, but, this is bugging me. If they don't stop soon I will writing to the president of the company.
Been getting daily calls from this number for the past week, sometimes more than once per day. They hang up when I answer.
It says name unavailable on caller ID. If this is sprint why in the world would they call just to hang up.
Sprint sucks, they are friggin stalkers who call me about 5 times a day. I have answered and told them I'm not a customer and went through all the steps but they continue to harrass me.
These calls started approx. 6 months or so ago, not exactly sure when. Lately, within the last month, they have called several times a day. How do you block this number?
I get this every once in a while. Anyone figure it out yet?
I get these calls at least twice a day to my cellphone. How can I make it stop?!!
I have gotten this call at 6:30am for the last few days, including on saturday morning. A great way to start the day :-(
I also began receiving calls from this number about 2 months ago. They have recently escalated to 2-3 times per day. I never answer, they never leave a message. I am definitely terminating my 7-year sprint contract when it expires this summer. Zero excuse, zero tolerance.
I have been getting a call from this phone number twice a day, each weekday, the last two weeks. I never answer; and they never leave a voice mail. Very annoying to get these calls while I am at work.
I'm a Sprint customer due to expire soon. Started getting these calls last week, once a day, no message; twice a day today. After reading the comments here, I called Sprint using *2 and they promptly agreed to block these calls, 24-48 hours to take effect. We'll see. Doesn't make any sense to call the number back directly, in case it's spam... call Sprint via a known good number.
I keep getting calls from this number as well. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing you can do other than canceling your Sprint Service. The national DNC list does not apply to companies that you have current business with. Anyone who does not have business with Sprint please report this though.
I get 1 call a day M-F. Irritating.....
I have received at least two calls a day from this number. I live in the 23229 zip code area
Jan. 31, 11:22 am
Jan. 30 1:40pm
Jan. 30 9:36am
Jan. 24 9:23am
Janu. 18 9:59am
It comes up only with the number on caller ID. I wish whoever this was would stop calling.
I wonder if it is someone phishing and saying they are sprint/nextel to make you feel safe entering your #, I'm going to call the sprint service # on my contract and talk to them directly!
I have SPRINT. I was called by this # yesterday morning and again this morning. I answer but no response. I e-mailed SPRINT and customer service called me. Their advice is to ignore the call. Weak! When I pointed out that voicemail might answer my "ignored" call and that I don't want this to cost me minutes, they ultimately agreed to set me up so that I won't be charged for the first minute of any call. Way to put out a brush fire with a tidal wave - but what the heck. I suggest you do the same - if enough people do, then maybe SPRINT will be a little more pro-active re this number.
Two calls within two days. one at 7:21 PM and one @ 1:33 today.
So far they have called 3 times today, no message on any of them.
Got a call from this number on my cell phone. 01.30.2007 at 10:30am. I did not answer and there was no message.
By the way, if you have a 'prior business relationship' with Sprint, which it looks like most of the people who posted complaints do, myself included, it overrides your 'do not call' preference. However it looks like one can opt out by sending an email to Sprint. I'll try that.
I didn't answer, but it's not the first time I've gotten a call from them.
Received first call today on my Sprint cell. They hung up when answered. I searched the Internet & saw this web site.
Do not call back to try to remove your name or tell them to stop calling you. It only makes it worse.
The calls ARE from Sprint. I complained via email on their site and got this response (poor grammar and all):
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I understand your concern regarding the Telemarketing call.
As requested, I have removed your phone number from the list.
It may be helpful to know that it will take 30 days to get a number removed from the Telemarketing database, as the request will be forwarded to all our centers across the country. I appreciate your patience in this regard.
Once this is done, be assured that you will not receive any marketing call from us.
Also, if you do not wish to receive marketing calls from other companies, I recommend you to sign up for the 'Do not call list' from you side. This can be done by visiting the following Web site:
donotcall.gov
I called Sprint to ask them to stop calling and was told, by law they could not stop anyone from calling me. I am counting the days until I can switch carriers.
Son-of-a-bit#*...I have received numerous calls from this number...pretty much daily.
Ah K-rap!
I've had 3 calls from this number in the past week. My contract expired 1/4/07. I'm assuming Sprint is attempting to sell me a new contract. Unfortunately for them, I'm not renewing.
I got a call this afternoon from an older man who asked for me and knew the highschool I went to and said he was a classmate. This was the number that showed up.
Just got the call, i don't answer numbers i don't know so i looked it up and found this site...
Some stupid message from Sprint regarding new services and packages available. If you opt out of it by pressing 6 then it will just tell you to call sprint directly for further service.
I have gotten alot of calls from this number and have been asked to be put on sprint DNC list. I can't wait to get out of this contract with Sprint. Every call and text message you get counts against you, which gives them more money!
Sprint. They don't leave a message or answer and if you call back they are offering some deal.
Called back and it was a "damn" promotional message! To add a line of service . . . STOOPID STOOPID SPRINT!
Been getting them the past week or so. Stupid me answered today, nobody there.
They are probably building a phone spam list for later use, testing for active numbers.
The old junk-fax spam method of gathering numbers.
Next-up SMS spam.
Sorry, the full web address didn't fit in the message.
visit

Hopefully if they get enough complaints something will be done about it. I'm sick of this junk.
Started getting calls from this on my Sprint cell phone last week. They're now calling every day. No message. Incredibly annoying.
01/24 9:15 am
01/23: 5:09 pm
01/22: 8:10 pm
01/20: 12:13 pm
01/19: 12:41 pm
Calls every day, I don't answer and they don't leave message
I'VE RECIEVED MANY CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER. I DON'T ANSWER B/C IT SAYS IT'S UNAVAILBLE BUT THEY NEVER LEAVE A MSG. I'M GETTING TIRED OF IT.
D'oh! I've had the same problems with the 866-463-3020 as well as the 866-463-3019 Sprint spam marketing calls. Part of my solution has benn to install MagiCall 1.2 software on my PPC-6700, and set MagiCall to automatically pick up these specific numbers without ringing and hang up instantly, lol... Anyway, MagiCall has been great for filtering or blocking SMS, unknown callers, etc...
Hopefully the instant hang up will give the spam callers a taste of their own nausea. I also recommend emailing or calling Sprint directly, and demand removal from any marketing call lists, as many have stated in this thread.
Best of luck to all.
I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and still get this.
It's getting really annoying to get these calls all the time. I think it is important because of the 866 area code. Ive never answered but waited for a message and they don't leave one. I get them in the middle of the day or during my night class between 6-9. STOP!!!!
Got this call 1-22-07 on my cell phone, my carrier is Sprint, so it makes sense that this was Sprint/Nextel, as I don't give this number out. Ever.
They called me and hung up on 1.22.2007
The number is 866-463-3020. I get the call on my Sprint phone. When I pick up, they hang up. They don't leave a message. When I call the number back, I press 6 to opt out. I still get the calls. When I already called Sprint about 6 mo ago to be taken off their list. I just called back, and they said I am off the list so I shouldn't be getting the calls. The calls come in the middle of the business day or during the weekend. It is time for a class action suit.
This was my second call from this number in less than a week
Have received several calls from this number. I do not answer numbers I don't recognize so I cannot confim if this is Sprint/Nextel calling, though they are my carrier.

I called the number back and it's a recording indicating that they are Sprint/Together with Nextel and they are calling to offer new promotions for existing customers. If you are not interested, Press 6. Not sure if it's legit, but they tell you that if you want to add a line of service to your account in the future, call 1-800-sprint1
Received the latest of these calls today at 7:31pm.
It seems that calling Sprint Customer Service to have my name added to their Do Not Call list doesn't do anything. Tomorrow I will take a trip to the local Sprint store and chat with a live person about this crap.
They always call me after 7pm.
After calling the number provided by Sprint to opt out of such calls, I received another today. Apparently I accidentally pushed the 1 button instead of Talk and received an automated message from Sprint thanking me for calling back and then hearing a message about some of their products. My understanding is that, unfortunately, the "Do Not Call" list does not apply to companies with which we already do business.
This number came to my mobile phone. There was no message and I didn't know anyone at that number so I just googled it to see if I could figure out who was calling. Wow, I am surprised to see all this out here. Only one call so far.
This number calls at least twice each week, but hangs up when we do answer just to find out who it is. They never leave a message on the answering machine. How can I lower a hammer on this freak ? Thanks
I have received two phone calls already from that number. The first time they hung up and the second time they wanted me to sign up for another phone plan.
Second call in 5 days from these scumbags. I called *2 and told the rep that I did not want to receive calls from anyone. Hopefully, it will work this time.
They called my Sprint cell phone at 2:46 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17. They did not leave a message.
This is a Sprint customer thing I guess. I called the number back and was given a voice recording about adding a second line to my account. It then gives you the option to opt out of all offers, so call the number back and choose that option - hopefully the calls will stop.
Well..dang this is the 3rd time today. And it is Sprint/Nextel. That is crazy...really
Called but didn't leave a message. No ID.
They called right now, 7:50PM PST, and as all unlisted numbers on my cell phone, it said "Unknown Caller". im guessing cuz i'm sprint customer? i hate sprint!
just got one for the first time, they hung up on me so i googled this number and found your site, funny thing is, i am also a sprint customer and called customer service today and had difficulty understanding their tech support person who was obviously from another country , i ended up hanging up on them from frustration. I wonder if one thing has anything to do with the other?
To people claiming that these people are scam telemarketers:
How is it they are only calling Sprint customers? Did they hack Sprint's database?
This is from Sprint. They are scum.
Got this call at 11:26 am on my Sprint cell phone. I received a privacy notice in the mail from Sprint which I promptly returned stating I do not wish to recieve calls from them or affiliates. Apparently, that does not mean much for these scumbags.
I may decide a cell phone is not worth the irratation of these calls.
sounds like it is time for a class action lawsuit.
Got an unknown call, no message - Google'd 866-463 (didn't even type 3020) and voila here I am . . .
Sprint offer for new line service - can hit #6 if not interested when calling them back - did this to stop getting calls from them on my cell!
got my second one in Miami
Just because they CLAIM to be from Sprint doesn't mean they really are. It's apparently a scam telemarketer. If you answer or return the call then you've just confirmed that you will talk to unknown numbers. They will now sell your number to other scammers because you've confirmed you're a sucker! Do NOT answer unknown numbers. If you do, then just hang up instantly so they have to pay a couple of cents. There is no reason to be nice to inconsiderate telemarketing scammers!
Thank goodness I didn't call back after finding this call on my missed list
I've sent out warnings to all my sprint users!
But who the he** is this?
I ended up canceling my Sprint Service. Payed an early termination fee. Didn't care, they would not stop calling...
DO NOT Answer calls from Sprint. I was Slammed. A woman called from Sprint and asked if I wanted a FREE phone. My response was "no I have a phone, I don't need a new phone." After several minutes of her harassing me "are you sure you don't need another phone?" I hung up. Well guess what she sent me the FREE phone anyway. I had to go through the hassle of returning the FREE phone to Sprint, not to mention I spent several hours on the phone reversing the charges associated with the FREE phone. Now the phone is lost...yeah that's right Sprint says they never received the FREE phone I returned to them in their return package. I am now being charged $150 for the FREE phone that I did not ask for. Take my advice don't answer calls from SPRINT. In fact cancel your service when they call.
thought it might have been my plumber, so i googled the number to see what came up. this site is cool.
what is up with this?
I h8
To the man calling everyone idiots, this is not from bill collectors. If YOU owe them money then perhaps YOU should pay them.
I have received a call on my phone now 5 times in past two days - never answered the phone and no message was left. I intend to contact Sprint Customer Service after the holiday to place a block on this number.
Several calls in the last couple of days. No one ever responds when I answer, and they don't leave VM when I don't. It's getting annoying.
They are calling abourt 0908am et every day.
To the guy calling everyone idiots because it's a billing number, it is not. If you call it back it says "Thanks for calling sprint/nextel, the reason for our call is to inform current customers of some great deals......." I hung up there.
Billing calls actually DO leave messages in your voicemail. FYI
The merger of Sprint/Nextel
caused this...
Wonderful just wonderful!
You people are idiots.. You are not going to get off the list. THEY ARE CALLING YOU BECAUSE YOU OWE THEM MONEY. IT'S A BILL COLLECTION NUMBER. WANNA stop the calls?? Settle your debt with them. Fools... lol.. Yea, could you stop calling me about the money I owe you??
called today, on my cell. just showed the phone number, no name
To opt out from these calls, both from 3010 and 3021, call 888-760-2478. I just did it after 5 calls in 4 days from rude sales folx!!
Started getting hang-ups from this phone number around November 15, 2006, and have been getting them since. This is getting ridiculous. Nothing I have done to stop these calls will make them stop, and they are getting more frequent.
Got my first 866 463 3021. Picked up but no answer.
If this continues, I'm opting out of Sprint. Any recommendations on a better carrier?
I'm getting calls everyday at around the same time from these different numbers.
I started receiving calls from this number on 11/11. So far they have all been between 1 and 2pm, but seem to be increasing in frequency.
The conversation after about the 50th time in the past month that I received a call from this number:
Me: "Hello? Knock knock, go eff yourself."
Woman: "Excuse me?"
Me: Click
One more thing .... I also sent an email to officeofprivacy@sprint.com (I got the address from sprint.com), and told them I wanted off any marketing lists and on any Do Not Call list. Don't know if it will do anything, but I do know that the squeaky wheel gets oiled. If enough people give Sprint hell for this, they gotta listen. And I'm all for people threatening to not renew if Spring doesn't address the issue. Though I always am nice first and only get pissed if that doesn't work (in my case, being nice worked when I called Customer Care the 2nd time and got somebody friendly and helpful).
Very interesting ... I've been a Sprint customer for over 2 years, have been on the national Do Not Call list almost as long, and have never had any trouble with telemarketers until the past two weeks when I started getting daily phone calls from 866-463-3020. I never answer calls when I don't know who they're from (and they can leave a message if it's important), so I've never actually answered. But I googled the number and came to this site and many others. So I called Sprint customer care (*2) and told they guy I wanted off all their marketing/soliticiting/telemarketing lists or any Do Not Call list they may have. He told me they did not maintain such a list, but I could block the number by dialing *82. He was an idiot, as the *82 number doesn't work (I get an error message) and, as you'll see, he was wrong about the Do Not Call list.
So I called Spring Customer Care a second time, got a different (and much more friendly) person, told her I was getting telemarketing calls and wanted off any marketing lists they may have. She was really nice, took a few moments, and said, "Okay, you are now on our Do Not Call list"!!
We'll see if it works. I suggest everybody try this, and call Spring repeatedly if they blow you off until you get an agent that can help you. Also make sure you are on the national Do Not Cal list (donotcall.gov), and register a complaint there. These telemarketing bastards need to be served justice.
I've gotten numerous calls from this number. I typically don't answer unrecognized calls, but the one time I did answer, no one was there. Calls on 10/08, 10/20, 11/02, 11/06, 11/30 (2-calls).
they called on my sprint phone
I have been getting calls from this number for a few weeks. No name on caller ID and never a message left. I did not answer the calls since I did not who it was. After checking this site, I saw that it was Sprint, so I sent a harsh email to Sprint telling them to stop or I will cancel my account and all my numbers. They replied back saying they will put me on the do not call list plus they added 100 any time minutes to my account for a month. It may be worth an email to compensate you for the hassle. Hopefully the calls will stop now.
Course, I also reported this to the FCC and did call the 800 number someone else listed to get on Sprints do not call list.
got a call from this number. I think it is sprint. Anyone else?
This is an elaborate scam. It doesn't matter if you are on the national DNC list or on Sprint's DNC list, they're probably calling from another country pretending to be Sprint. Based on the dates of the messages, this has been going on for 6 months now. Sprint should have had these scammers shut down by the FCC in a week. I blame Sprint at this point for not putting the pressure on, if for no other reason than to protect their own ASSets, their customers.
The last info was B.S. Dial code invaild. Called again and was sent to the Security divison. And then Executive Division. Which funny enough, was closed. Will try during business hours.
Two calls a day from 8664633020 for a week. Hangs up. Called Sprint 11/24, put on DNC list. Two more calls 11/27. Called sprint even more upset. Was told to dial *82 and then enter in the number and it would be blocked. Lets see what happens now.
Been called from this number probably 20-30 times. Most recently today, 3:45.
I received 2 calls from the same number, one on 11/24, the other on 11/27. I had no idea that Sprint had their own DNC list... I'm sending them an email right now. Thanks!
I had missed calls from this number on the following dates: 11/27/06 (twice), 11/21/06, 11/20/06, 11/16/06. I am going to try the opt out number 1-800-865-7786
I too have been getting calls from this number almost every day, twice a day, for several weeks. I never answered until today when they called for the second time. I spoke with a young-sounding woman who told me about some random Sprint offer as others here have mentioned. I wanted to freak out on her and tell her that I was annoyed at all the damn calls I've been getting from that number, but I simply declined and told her I was thinking about cancelling Sprint. She told me to have a good day and hung up. HOPEFULLY, simply by answering her damn question, I won't receive any more calls. I'd assume they won't call me back.
The calls had stopped for a while. Now they are coming again. I NEVER answer them. Why waste my minutes on them?
after reading this message I waited and waited for someone to answer - it took about 30 seconds of dead air. when they answered (sprint / nextel) i asked to be removed from their list and the list they received my name from. she read me a paragraph on how it would take 30 days, etc. we'll see
Rec'd call at 9:00 eastern time, no info, just the phone number that i didn't recognize

Just got one - had one last week and I believe the week before. Never anyone / anything on the other end when I answer (so I can't bitch at them - grrrr).
02261125 - 3:50p EST
The last few calls I've received from this number:
Nov 25 1:17pm
Nov 24 3:30pm
Nov 22 3:09pm
Nov 21 11:31am
Nov 18 1:41pm
Nov 17 9:43am
I never answer when this number pops up.
They called a couple of months ago and I sent Sprint a nasty note. The calls stopped, but now they are starting again. I'm going to leave Sprint.
Calls from this number 3 times in the past 2 days. I have not answered and no meesages have been left. Last call was at 11:24am est.
this is really making me angry now. i have called sprint and told them to take me off of this list but they say that either 1) they don't know anything about it or 2) they can't do anything about it. when I answered the call from the 866 number today, specifically so I could tell them to never call me again they were very cocky and said it would take 30 days to go into effect.
These people called yesterday asking if I wanted to add another line with a free cell phone for someone around the holidays. Told them NO, and lo and behold, they call back today too. Ummm...answer is still NO. GO AWAY SPRINT!!!!
Who ARe they??? They call to many time.... It really pisses me up!
Got a call from 866-463-3020 at 1:56P CST on 20Nov06. Didn't recognize #, so I didn't answer. But will record it in ph as potential telemarket call thanks to this site.
THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!! IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT WE CAN DO WE SHOULD!!!!
They called today 4:49 pm, my zip code 11510, I picked up and said "hello, hello?" no one answered, I assume it was a computer so hung up. then googled to find this site. The number came up as name: unknown, number: 866-463-3020 date: 11/20/2006 time: 4:49 pm roaming: no
Class action anyone? There has got to be a service credit for those of us being harassed
Got a call today from 866-463-3020 at 10:39 am. The number showed on caller ID, but I missed the call and looked it up online when I found this website. No message was left. My postal code is 94133.
I had the problem a few months ago with the other number (888-760-2478) and had it finally stopped and today the 866-463-3020 number showed up on my caller id. It appears if you stop one number they will just call from another number. Mike's idea of calling the BBB seams a good idea.
Received call from this number in the middle of a Saturday. I answered and said hello once, seconds later the call ended.
First of all, this IS Sprint calling you. Don't let them fool you. You need to call the number back (or *2), and ask to be removed from any and all marketing calls from within Sprint. They will probably tell you that it will take a few weeks. In my case, it took longer, and I filed a complaint with both the FCC and the Better Business Bureau. Sprint responded to the BBB complaint, claimed that it was a mistake that I was not removed from the list following my initial request and credited my account $25. So while I'm happy with the resolution, it's complete BS that they can just violate my do-not-call list, and it's not until I waste my own time filing complaints that this stops. But, in any event, I have confirmed that it is Sprint making the calls, and you can make them stop if you're persistent.
First one today
Received a call from 866-463-3020 at 9:50 am EST. Calls almost daily.
It's not Sprint... not even a company with any affiliation to them... all the same, it seems to me that Sprint should be able to block them, regardless. Whatever you do though, don't give them any information if you pick up. Also, call the main Sprint customer service line and report the complaint. If there are enough complaints, it might eventually push some action.
these jerks call me everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times and they call both my home phone and my cell phone
Got a call from this number about 2 months ago at around 9:30am. I get a lot of calls from customers with numbers I was using bluetooth at the time so I answered it without looking at the phone and it went on to some automated message saying my account had been deactivated due to non-payment, but my bill wasn't due for another few days and my phone still worked fine after I hung up. Suprise suprise, though, the voice said "to pay you bill press one. to speak to a representative, press two". I pressed one and it said "please hold while a representative is reached." Meaning the so-called computer had no clue which button I pushed.
Then, this morning at 10:30, I got another call from this number. Didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message. If it is indeed Sprint, then it's freakin retarded and they'll have lost my bussiness because of it. I'm thinking it's a bogus number though. Probably someone trying to scam Sprint/Nextel customers. I've used Sprints automated setup and it is NOT a gravelly sounding man and it DOES recognize key presses.
I have had sprint for a year & half and I bet I get calls from this number 2-3 times a day. I answer and no one is there. I've emailed customer service, put my name on DNC list, called customer service...all to no avail. When my contract is up in July I will not be coming back to sprint. I pay too much a month for service to get harassed by their marketing dept.
rec'd call from 866-463-3020 @4:30 pm 11/13/06 no message left..I am already on the state/national do not call lists. Since Sprint is my carrier, I will have to call them to put this # on the dnc list.
Called from this number multiple times, never answered, but googled the number & found this page.
Last call: 2:30PM PST Nov 13 2006
I keep getting these calls...such a pain!!
Received 2nd call today. "Sprint telesales" is actually eTeleCare in the Philippines. To identify the vendor, ask who they receive a paycheck from and where they're located, then enjoy escalating to the managers on duty.
Their email naming convention is first.last@etelecare.com. Someone there will provide contact info to tell Sprint what an awful customer experience it is to have such a sales pitch.
Second call in 24 hours, first one no one was there, didn't answer this time.
866-463-3020 It's Sprint. Although the automated voice sounds like an attractive woman, I still hate the calls to upgrade my service.
12:20 PM
No message left
Have been called twice, Tuesday & today. I usually have my phone off during the day so they could've called more than that.
I've had my cell # on the federal DNC list since the beginning. These calls are the only 'violation' I've had on my cell.
aargh!
866-463-3020
They call me at least once a day. I've never answered but it's pissing me off. I'm going to answer screaming next time they call.
called spring at
1-800-777-4681 on 8 november 2006. press 2 about 3 times till you get automated female voice, tell here "cancel", she will say ok, i can help you with that. you will get a real person on the line, tell them you will cancel you cell phone unless these calls stop. if they tell you to just avoid answering, tell them you will cancel if the calls don't stop. they will say ok, ask for your number, name, password, then tell you it won't stop immediately, but they will get to it. Then, go to dnc.gov, register your cell phone, wait 32 days, and register a complaint against 866-463-3020. i'm waiting to see how long this works. I'm in north carolina.
8664633020 every day, twice a day, for over 8 months now.
this number is indeed from sprint.. They are calling to see if you want to add an additional line to your Nextel service.. Call it back, press 6, and hang up, they will DNC you on the go forward
I've been getting these calls -- about twice a week, so I guess I'm lucky compared to some people -- for about two months now. The one time I did answer, the person on the other end wanted to upgrade my Sprint plan/save me some money -- obviously locking me into another 2-year contract with Sprint. My previous contract expired just a few days ago, and I'm going to jump ship on Sprint as soon as I see a good deal from another provider. While I was planning to leave Sprint anyway, these calls really sealed the deal for me.
I receive a call 2-3 times per day.
While stopping the calls would be even better, I add the number to my phone book and set the ringer to a voice memo of silence, so at least it doesn't bother me.
Did the op-out and everything listed - nothing worked. Then I went to the Sprint Store and had them call in and block the number - No calls for 1 week.
I get these calls from time to time every few days but then they'll stop for a month and then start again. I never answer them. I just look it up in google and see that's it's probably a telemarketer anyway. Last call was 11/4/06 at 10:45am EST.
called my cell phone, we said hello a few times back and forth and then they hung up. Was a lady with a foreign accent, maybe French.
This number has repeatedly been calling me for the last two weeks. two times a day. i never answer.
DON'T ANSWER AND DELETEAT LEAST 10 CALLS IN THREE WEEKS
I received this call today for the first time. I hope they don't continue calling me!
I receive calls from 866-463-3020 two-three times a day. I never answer. I called Sprint to make them aware of it. Sprint says they NEVER call, that they only use email or text-msg. if they want to get in touch with their customers. I hope this helps.
This call is from Sprint/Nextel trying to sell an additional line of service.
i keep getting these calls about every 2 days or so. so annoying!!!
i called back and the message said if i was interested in promotional offers to press a button and someone would call me back. i pressed the button saying i wasn't interested. That didn't stop the calls!!!
Only came up as the number, no message left. I never answer a call like that.
Getting them twice a day.
866.463.3021 is the same as 866.463.3020.
Sprint is useless in stopping these calls.
I don't know who keeps calling me from this number, but i wish they would stop.
ITS SPRINT.
And This:
- Do-Not-Call Policy: Sprint Nextel maintains its own "do-not-call" list to enable subscribers and potential customers to prevent future telephone marketing calls to any phone number. During a telemarketing call, you may be asked to contact Sprint Nextel Customer Care at a toll-free number given to you during the call if you wish to register a do-not-call request. You also may register your request by sending an email to officeofprivacy@sprint.com. Sprint Nextel will promptly record your preference, although you should allow up to thirty (30) days for your number to be removed from any Sprint Nextel sales campaign then underway. Any do-not-call request associated with a particular number will be respected by Sprint Nextel for a minimum period of five (5) years, or longer if required by law, and two (2) years for our business customers. Also, please remember, you still will receive customer service or account-related calls from Sprint Nextel. Sprint Nextel may contact former customers or others with whom the company has an established business relationship unless you are listed on our internal do-not-call list.
From the Spint/Nextel Site:
- Marketing Communications:
We use personal information to inform you about new products and services. We may contact you at your wireless, residential or business phone numbers, by email or text message, fax or by automated voice messaging and by direct mail. If you are a Sprint Nextel subscriber and want to change your preferences for receiving marketing communications, you may call us at the customer service number shown on your bill or send an email to officeofprivacy@sprint.com. While you may choose not to receive email or telephone marketing information from us, you will continue to receive invoices, customer service-related notifications, technical or network-related notifications and similar information from us electronically or otherwise.
Just received a call from this number, didn't answer because I didn't recognize it. This was Nov 2. at 12:27p.
I followed AVERY's post from 10/3/2006 and called the opt out number. Hopefully this will stop all calls. Call it.
The opt-out number on the card is 1-800-865-7786 and following the voice prompts
I have also been with sprint for many years (about 8). Just started getting calls from 866-463-3020 several times the past two weeks. Twice today already (not even 3pm). All I did was google the number and found this...glad to hear its not just me getting it, but also not glad to hear they are spamming so many people :( If I only knew where that call center was....
I have been with sprint for more then 4 years and I have just started getting called by whoever this is, I wish it would stop
I got this call, the second time in about 3 weeks. I NEVER pick up a number I do no recognize especially during peak hours.
I have received several calls from this number but have not answered or called back.
I've been getting these calls for months. I've stopped answering them. When I previously picked up, it hung up on me. I'm getting them about 1 or 2 times a week now, more than 1 time per day, and at EXTREME hours. Getting a call at 9:23 on a Saturday morning is not acceptable.
My sprint plan is about to expire and they (sprint)are calling every day with offeres to lock me in for another 2 years.
Getting bothersome! It's probably Sprint. They call me constantly from different 866 numbers.
Received 2 calls.
Reported both.
Did as Avery suggested but I don't remember receiving a post card.
Below from Avery:
"About 30 days before I started getting calls from this number, I received a postcard from Sprint stating that unless I opted-out, they would share my CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) to third parties that assist Sprint in promoting or providing other Sprint products and services that they think would interest me.
The opt-out number on the card is 1-800-865-7786 and following the voice prompts"
The called the opt-out number and hopefully they stop.
Didn't answer, no message.
They called 6:06pm OCT 30th
and 12:36pm on OCT 28th, and 12:44pm on OCT27th
They called me as well. This is highly inappropriate and a violation of our rights. Get the FBI involved, track them down and put them in jail. Look at all of us who are being harassed. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior!
Last time I was getting calls from this number 2-3 times a day, I finally called it back and had myself removed. It took 2 days for them to remove me, but it did stop after 2 days. NOW THEY ARE STARTING AGAIN!!! If this is coming from Sprint directly, I'm going to probably cancel my service. I do not need to be harrassed and spammed by them...I freaking pay them $65 a month...what else do they need from me?
I don't know who this is. I don't answer calls from people I don't know.
I got a call from this number they said they were from Sprint and wanted to give me a free phone
Received call at 1:15pm EST. Solicitation from Nexte/Sprint offering free cell phone for getting an additional line.
Phone (cell) rang, I picked up and they hang up. Twice.
I've gotten several of these but never had any idea who they were from. Sprint, you jerks. Why are you calling me? How do I add myself to the Do Not Call list?
Talked to Sprint security about this as it reeked of "fraud call". They said yeah it is and they are trying to nail these guys. Why the heck would Sprint deliberately piss off their own customers?!
I keep getting calls from this number too. I am a current Sprint customer. I've never answered one of these calls and they never leave messages.
A plague on their houses!
I asked to be immediately taken off their call list. Also on the DNC national list. They still call. Evil company that needs a class-action lawsuit filed against them.
When I was running down to get my phone, the ring stop. I saw a missed call number 866-463-3020 on Oct 25 11:44am PST. No message left. I believe it may be the 1st call I received from this number. I have been Sprint customer for many 6 years... If they call again, I would call Sprint and ask for no telemarketing calls.
first call, Wed.Oct.25th @ 9:22 a.m.
Got another call last night on my SPRINT phone but did not answer...then, magically, this morning my SPRINT phone has officially taken a crap and has completely shut down. Coinsidence? I am suspecious...now, with only a few months left on my contract I will probably have to extend since I can't go without a phone that I'm paying for. Again, suspicious...
Well, it's been almost a week without a call from this number after receiving them on a daily basis - wahoo! I'm not sure what made them stop calling - I recently came to the end of my 31-day waiting period for the national do not call list, Sprint's do not call list finally started working, Sprint finally read the nasty e-mail that I sent to them a few weeks ago, or they just plain got tired of me never answering my phone and moved on to the next poor person. In any case, I'm really happy that the calls have stopped and am crossing my fingers that they've stopped for good.
I am a Sprint customer. I didn't answer as it would use up my precious daytime minutes. They did not leave a message. I have received calls from this number before.
I used to get several calls a day from this number for many months. Then they stopped. I just now got another one all of the sudden. It's annoying, but I just ignore it.
On 10/18/06 I sent a msg to Sprint by signing in to my account online. I made it clear to them in the msg that I was unhappy, and that my contract was up in a few months. They took the hint, and responded that day. I have not received a single call from this # since then! YAY!! I was getting 3-4 calls daily prior to my contacting them.
Got one of these calls from the freaks on 10/21 at 4:51pm.
Googled the phone number this morning and couldn't believe what I was in for.
Called *2 from cell phone, but they're closed today (Sunday). Called 1-800-SPRINT1 and told the rep to take me off of all telemarketing lists. She said "okay". No mention of a "waiting period." Also had her block all inbound text messages as they charge us for that (another large crock of sh*t). That was taken care of right away too. (I've been trying on the web site for a couple months, but always get a "temporarily unavailable" message).
Idiots.
Was a previous Sprint customer, then went to AT&T. Came back to Sprint a year ago, almost exactly as when I got the call. Got one year left of this contract and I'm seriously going to consider leaving and never coming back. This is completely unacceptable.
It is absolutley stunning the stupidity of these companies. And I have a bad feeling it's only going to get worse. There is no sense of proportion or discretion.
I received a call from them at 9:51 am, but was driving so I didn't answer.
According to their SEC filings, here are the names of two human beings who speak for the company:
Media Contact:
Leigh Horner, (919) 465-3712
leigh.horner@sprint.com
Investor Contact:
Kurt Fawkes, (800) 259-3755
investor.relations@sprint.com
Maybe, they can explain why the company is going out of its way to piss off its customers.
(correction to above) I meant my "Sprint" cell phone (not "spring").
I just got an incoming call from this number on my Spring cell phone. 10/21/06, 9:42 am (PST). I didn't answer it and there was no message. very annoying.
Sat. 10/21/06 @ 9:20 a.m. Ignored.
I want to kill them.
I got a call from this unknown number. I did not answer it and they did not leave a message in my voice mail. I am on the DNC list so I do not know why they are calling me.
The Calls have stopped!!
Last week I wrote a brief but stern email to Sprint Cust Service telling them I would cancel if the calls from that number didn't stop immediately. They wrote back and asked me to cofirm my address, etc. I complied, and after another two days of calls, they abruptly stopped. It has been two full days with no calls, so I am hopeful that the problem has been solved. This comes after receiving 2-4 calls a day for the last month. Good luck.
Just got a call, only showed the number but no name
no answer
Just got a call, didn't answer...only showed the number but no name. I'm on the DNC registry but not yet for 30 days so can't officially complain.
I've received at least two calls from this person, most recently at 4:46pm on 10/19/06. I never answer, they never leave a message.
Got this call on my cell; missed it though (no message). First time from this number.
They are calling my cell phone every day. Grrr...and I already use Sprint.
Been getting calls at least 3 to 4 times a day from this # for the past month. finally called back and did the opt out. hopefully works.
The attacks from 866 463 3020 are getting worse. It started as a call every other day about a month ago. Now I am getting 4 or more calls a day, sometimes every 2 hours. I have been on the govt DNC list from more than 30 days and have complained repeatedly to Sprint. Yesterday I got an apologetic email from Sprint saying that they would remove me from all call marketing lists, but the calls have continued.
I fear I have no choice but to cancel my service because, judging from the collective experiences posted here, it doesn’t appear that one person has been able to stop these annoying calls. It seems likely that the calls originate from an out of control 3rd party telemarketer that has no incentive to stop, and I’m not confident that Sprint can effectively intervene. What a disaster.
Just got a call from this number and typed it in quotes and found this website.... 3:50 PM EST Wed 10/18
I get calles from this number 2-3 tiems a day. I've answered once or twice and get silence. I've called it back and get put on hold as if I'm in que to talk to some sort of service rep. I want it to STOP!
In the past 2 days I have received 9 calls from this person. If beginning to get extremely annoying.
Like Jerome and Sarah, I've been experiencing an escalation of the harassment, and it's up to 4 calls per day now.
They seem to be broadening the attack times, too, as I got one around 8:00 PM, later than ever before. Soon it'll probably be hourly, 24/7.
I've been getting 2 calls a day from this number for about a month now and in the last few days it's gotten worse--today I got 4. I've absolutely had it. I'm going to try the dnc list, but if anybody finds anything that works, let the rest of us know.
I'm getting these calls at least twice a day, just had my 4th one today! Plus, since my phone number is a central time zone number and I just moved to the west coast, I am now getting these calls at 7am prompt! Fuck these assholes.
They just now called, and I found this site trying to figure out who it was.
I called the number. It is a "Sprint Together w/ Nextel" number--so the rep said. I asked them to refrain from calling me. I'll check with Sprint to determine if indeed them
I just got a call saying that they want me to get a phone with Sprint, though I have one already. 5th time in 2 days.
I just called..its for sprint promotions. I get 3 calls a day from this #.
I have recieved phone calls from this number everyday for over a week, 3 or more times a day, whats going on?
I formally complained about these harassing calls to Sprint, FCC and BBB.
All Sprint could do was tell me to file a complaint with the FCC.
I will post the FCC & BBB response, but would suspect that they will take some time, as bureaucracy tends to move slower than the rate at which my hair grows.
Called Sprint was told it wasn't them. 14 phone calls today as of 12:07pm. Anybody know any hackers to shut down their system?
I have received a couple of calls from this number. They leave no message and do not say anything when I keep saying "Hello"! It's annoying!
They're nothing if not consistent. The calls date back to mid-September, but listed below are the calls I've recieved in the last week. Looks like they may have Sundays off.
10/10 - 9:17am, 4:58pm
10/11 - 9:52am
10/12 - 5:18pm
10/13 - 10:01am, 2:10pm
10/14 - 9:46am
10/16 - 10:48am, 2:28pm
10/17 - 9:02am, 10:06am
I've been getting calls from this number for weeks. They call 1-2 times every day. One time I called it back and the recording said it was Sprint marketing. I entered my phone number as "do not call" (and I've already done the national DNC list) and still I get the missed calls. Now when I dial the number I get on hold music! I am with Sprint and have been for six years. The last few months, I've been getting calls from 800 and 866 numbers for the first time. I wish I could block a number the way I can an email address.
Finally got these calls to stop. Had to 1.) Call Sprint Customer Service (again) and get off the "Direct Marketing Line" 2.) Send a nasty email to Sprint via their website. They claimed to not know about this number.
I too will be dumping Sprint as my cellphone provider once my contract is up.
I get these calls all the time.......its excessive!!!!! This is number three for today!!!!!
Called 1-800-SPRINT1 to complain about daily calls from that number. Was added to the "do not solicit" list. Customer service rep. informed me he had never heard of this compliant before and a retail store must be calling me. Right.
Let's make this stop:
fcc.gov
bbb.org
What are these calls? How do you make them stop? I'm a Sprint subscriber too. I never answer a number I don't know and let it go to voicemail but get nothing from this number.
This number is calling me 3 to 5 times a day. I asked to be put on the dnc list several times. Now when they call they don't even bother to try to sell me anything they just sit on the line. The last couple days they started calling late at night and weekends.
Yeah, I got some smooth jazz when I called it back - kinda hip!!
This numbe has been calling me once or twice daily for more tahn a month. The 1st time I tried calling back a computer meesage told me it was from Sprint. i went through a series of commands to allegeldy ask it to stop calling me. it still calls. The last few days I've been getting so fed up I tried calling back a few times. Now the phone is answered with canned music.
Here's what I did to stop the problem. Save the number in your phone as "Spam" or some type of profanity, then download a silent ringer. When they call you don't have to hear it!
stsrted with, this sprint
offering things I have already or new stuff.
afer many, i aint ansg,I have found out they leave music
I have been getting two calls a day from this number to my cell phone. I have not answered the calls, and they have not left a message. Calls come between about 10 am and 3 pm. If this is Sprint, I do have my cell plan with them, but this doesn't make me want to renew my contract. It's annoying.
Someone from 866-463-3020 has been calling several times a day for a few weeks now. I've been ignoring the call, but they never left a message. Finally yesterday I picked up when they called again, but no one said anything. I've also tried calling back and all I get is hold music.
Call coming every day about 9:45 to 10:00am since Sept. 18th from caller i.d. # 866-463-3020, am often put into queue for a person when I pick up this phone; nobody at Sprint seems to be able to stop this.
Comes up unknown -- They have been calling me 1 to 3 times a day since the end of August. Harrassment if you ask me. I don't answer any call I do not recognize the phone number. I am registered with the national DNC, but they can still call 31 days after you register. One more week and they are being reported!!
this number calls about once every day or two. i've never answered it.
It just won't stop! I'm starting to be resigned to the fact that I'll be getting two calls a day from this number for the rest of my life, or until I cancel my Sprint account.
I have been getting 2 call's a day for the last 2 week's from this number,i just don't answer.
Getting calls from this number 2-3 times a day. Just renewed my phone service with sprint when this started. I called and they wouldn't confirm that they were calling, but I requested that my number be put on DNC list.
Good Idea. I gave up trying to add my number to do not call. I gave this number "no ring". I'm ditching sprint when my contract is up. To those who want to ditch now: cbs13.com
This guys 8664633021 called me today. Wo the hell are they? I have a Sprint Phone. If it's from them, I ll cancel the contract tomorrow. I am not kidding!
Yep, it's been going on for a couple of weeks now. Maybe it's time to opt out of Sprint all together I guess. I've been using Sprint for a number of years now but if this is what's going to happen then....... who knows?
Have been receiving these calls for several weeks. Now, I'm getting calls several times a day - at all hours. I'm afraid to call and ask to be put on the DNC list internally because I don't want them to know that it's a valid number calling. However, has anyone had luck in getting them to stop? If so, what number did you call?
Thanks!
several calls per week for months. very irritating! i answered once and told them i knew it was a scan and told them not to call me again. the calls stopped for about 2 weeks, but have started again with more frequency.
I called back and waited through the Musak. Get a person who said they were the TeleSales center and were a part of Sprint/NexTel (not an affiliate). Put my number on the DNC list. She said it takes a week or more for the DNC to be put into effect (why??).
Received four calls over the last few days from this number to my Sprint Blackberry. I'll try calling Sprint business support and see if they can stop it. My guess from the other comments here is that Sprint has a deal with some tele-marketing company. Very low-rent and seedy if you ask me. Shame on Sprint!
Multiple Calls ..
So they just called me for the first time, I didn't pick up, but I did immediately google it. Glad I didn't pick up though...
As far as I know, this is the 1st time I've gotten a call from this number. I just heard silence when I answered, music when I called back.
Receive multiple calls daily from this number, and when I answer, they disconnect me. I called Sprint to block the number, and they told me they can't do that; I need to get on the DNC list. This is super annoying.
called me, hung up. I called back, got elevator music. Effective!
This is ridiculous. I get about 3 calls a day from Sprint. I've put in 4 or 5 different requests to be on the do not call list - but it won't go into effect for 6 weeks. I will have to deal with this for another month. Lovely!!!
i get at least one call per day from this number and would like it to stop. when i answer, there's never anyone there
Just music
Got two calls today, called Sprint via my cell phone *2 and they said they can't block the number and referred me to the national do not call list after telling me it was the Sprint internal do not call. Incompetent.
I got them good today. I have been getting calls from the 866-463-3020 number. When I called back some girls actually answered.
They tried selling a phone or something but I just flirted with them and they giggled.
They claimed to be from Sprint/Nextel and also located in Scottdale Arizona, which I think is a crock.
I've spoken to 3 or 4 girls that are working there so far and they ALL sound spanish, so maybe.
I get 3 or 4 calls a day from them so I'm just trying to make the best of it right now by having fun with the telemarketers but its getting old and I'm going to quit Sprint.
My tip to all frustrated sprint users (I am getting calls 2-3x/day) is to add the number as a "contact" and assign it a special ring (the quietest and least annoying.) That way, when they call, you know not to answer.
I actually created a 1-sec silent ringtone. I never hear the phone ring - just see the missed call. Way less annoying.
BTW - same isssues. No one on the other end and when I call back - music. If it is Sprint telemarketing - it's poor. Why call and not try to pitch something?
9:42a
12:28p
Uh oh, they seem to be stepping up their attacks now. Just got my 2nd of the day.
Do we know for sure that this is truly a call from Sprint and not some criminal organization?
It looks like we are all in the same boat...I am about to lose it...The number that keeps calling is 866-463-3020. Noone ever leaves a message and they call at least 3 times a day and they have no consideration for time of day...weekends included. I am on the DNC list, but I guess that doesn't work...They just don't get it.
im about to explode!!!!!
this damn company has got a class action law suit on their hands! they call everday and sound like some form of east indian. they try to get me to sign up for a family plan...i dont have a family!!! they dont take no for an answer.!!! i have called sprint many times and gotten $4 taken off my monthy bill.......................
i want the number for the sprint ceo's office..i plan on calling his number 20 times a day and grilling him on some plans!
No info
I am still getting these annoying calls, but I also noticed that googling "8664633020" now only shows the link to this page, all the other blogs and what not that have people complaining about the unwanted calls from Sprint/Nexttel no longer shows up. I smell a cover-up, censorship by both Google and Sprint, or Google just catering to big businesses at the expense of consumers. And that sucks!
How annoying. They keep calling and nobody is ever on the other line.
I received a call from this number offering me a free Motorola C290 phone. The woman said she was from Sprint. While I was on the line with her I called Sprint from my work phone and he rep said they weren't running that special. Talked to woman in fraud dept that said "I can see someone accessed your account, probably sales, but there is no other information listed...I will track down that person" and follow through, basically. It seems like others didn't have much luck. Maybe if people keep calling the fraud dept and bugging them they'll get serious about it.
I have received constant calls from this number. I finally answered it and no one was on the other end--or at least not that I could tell. I am on the DO NOT CALL registry. I am confused as to WHY they should be allowed to call me.
they just called. i've been on sprint for a while. this number started calling about 3 weeks ago. now they are calling twice a day. i've answered once and they hung up. i called back and just got music immediately, it never rang. makes me think it's a sprint number.
DNC registration does not effect customers. I am a customer of sprintpcs... I will be calling their service department and explaining that they have been using my time... (in short sentences so they get the message).
They call every other day... if it's PRIVATE or UNKNOWN, I don't answer it but it's starting to get ANNOYING!!!
Been getting these calls on and off for at least a month. Doing a search on the number turned up this site and others. I used the number a couple people posted that get you to opt out. We'll see if this works.
I have received 3 calls from this number. I answered the 2nd one -- got nothing and told them to not call back. They did - the next evening.
these calls are ridiculous. just started this week, getting calls everyday.
Have recieved calls from this number at least 3 times this week......latest is today, 10/07/06. No one is on the line. When I tried to return the call all I get is a music ring tone and no answer. This is being called to my cell phone.
I too have been getting tons of calls from 866-463-3020, and am tired of it. Average 3-5 times a day for 1 month now, they even called me at 4:30 am and woke me up, only to hang up!!! My contract expires soon, I will not renew. It is clear that the calls are sometimes coming from out of the USA, I mean what "customer service" is working at 4:30 am??
These calls come in 2 to 3 times daily. I am even receiving them on the weekends now.
I called Sprint and told them that I was getting these calls. They took me off of their direct marketing list. This made no difference. They keep calling.
Calls started about mid-september.
Only the number is identified.
Dates I have and times:
9/22/06 1:28 pm
9/27 12:35 pm
9/28 9:35 am
9/29 19:10 am
10/3 9:57 am
10/6 10:21 am
10/6 2:39 pm
10/7 10:58 am
I've been getting calls from this number for awhile now. I feel like I'm being stalked. These are the dates that I didn't answer the phone call: 10/7, 10/6, 10/6, 10/3, 9/29, 9/27, 9/27, 9/20. I did answer it on 9/23 and I got hung up on as soon as I answered. So I've quit answering. It's getting quite annoying as I work nights and these calls come in anywhere from 8 am - 11 am.
I get a call on my cellphone once or twice a day. They never leave a message or identify themselves. I asked Sprint not to call me and complained about their poor service but now these calls come MORE frequently.
This number: 1-866-463-3021; Seems to be Sprint calling to offer you guys another line on your phone. My entire family has sprint, Yesterday my father answered his phone when they called and signed up for another phone with sprint. You will probably all notice you all have Sprint. You should have gotten a yellow flyer with your bill telling you how to "opt-out". I suggest you do it.
I've been getting a call every day. This must be Sprint.
I get a call from this number sometimes 3 times daily, is there a way to block this number???
eTelecare... What a crock.. Want some numbers to get even?

I picked up a call at 8:30pm from the 866-463-3020, no one spoke on the other end, then call ended after 5 seconds.
This number also called me again on Sept 29, at 11:53am.
Call 1-800-SPRINT1, ask for customer service. Tell them you've been harrassed by their ad dept & you want it to stop immediately. The guy took my info, put me hold a minute, returned and said that I will no longer receive calls or msgs from their ad dept (no mention of a 30-day wait). If everyone calls them, they'll get the strong msg the we (the customers) have a voice!
My has received daily calls from this number for at least a week. x3021 is a variation on this also.
I have been receiving calls from this 866-463-3021...but I don't answer. They call every night but never leave a message.
received a called at 5:28 pm
Just the phone number comes up and I haven't answered it. They called @2:01pm and 9:54am today, yesterday @ 12:57pm, and the day before @ 1:22pm.
I have received 6 calls in the last 7 days. Never leaves a message and does not say who is calling. I am disabled and use my cell phone for emergencies. Plus I sleep a lot in the day due to my illness not allowing me to sleep well at night.
I have been called by this number every day this week
October 2 - 10:33am
October 3 - 2:33pm
October 4 - 11:21am
October 4 - 4:37pm
Ocober 5 - 9:40am (today so far)
They've been calling me for MONTHS! STOP STOP STOP!!!
OCT 5, 10:37AM
OCT 4, 2:18PM
OCT 3, 11:41AM
Calling the number back to be put on their DNC list doesn't work - they still keep calling. I sent an e-mail to Sprint Customer Solutions and they responded, "I'm sorry to inform you that we can't block these calls or identify them." The e-mail then proceeded to tell me that if I found the calls to be harassing or threatening, I had 2 options. 1) Contact the Call Trace Dept. (866-259-7534) and have them charge me a $20 non-refundable fee for them to tell me where the calls were coming from. 2) Change my phone number. Neither option sounded very good to me. I'd hope that if there's some random company out there claiming to be Sprint that Sprint would be a little more concerned about it and try to stop it.
After endless weeks of receiving these annoying calls, I finally took ACTION today.
Here's what I did.
1) Called 866-463-3020 back and received an automated Sprint/Nextel message that gives you the option to type in your # to be put on their "Sprint/Nextel Do not Call List"
2) I also dialed *2 on my cell to speak with a Sprint Customer Service Rep to request my # be on the "Sprint/Nextel Do Not Call List" -- the customer service rep told me it takes 30 Days for this to go into effect
3) I called my lawyer and she recommended contacting your local state Office of the Attorney General (Investigation Unit) to file a complaint.
4) I also filed a complaint using Form 475 with the FCC. This proved to be useless as the only resolution that can be done in the short term is for them to put your # in the "National Do Not Call list" -- they will not investigate further unless there are similar complaints from other people.
To sum up -- Try Steps 1 and 2. Also Try step 3 if all else fails.
This number call me twice today. It is annoying.
If I keep getting these calls, I think I will seriously examine how to go about pre-suit discovery in Fed Dist Court here in Arizona to examine various equipment manufacturers who might profit if many of us bought equipment from them to stop this harassment.
I just recieved the call 10-04-06. Just had the number, did not answer
!
Called about 15 times over the past several days. Calls on weekdays, weekends, day and night. Most recent call was 11:43am on October 4. I'm Roswell Georgia resident, just north of the City of Atlanta.
calls sometimes twice a day and every work day...annoying...
this is those bastards from sprint/nextel. The good thing is that you can call the number and have your number added to their internal do not call list.
I can't seem to stop these calls coming...I've responded already that I don't want these calls, but it doesn't seem to work. My number is on the do not call list.
I even answered the call this time, but no one responded when I said hello. I keep getting more and more calls like these on my cell. It's really getting out of hand.
I've lost count on how many times they call. I don't pick up any call I don't know. If it's important they'll leave a message.
About 30 days before I started getting calls from this number, I received a postcard from Sprint stating that unless I opted-out, they would share my CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) to third parties that assist Sprint in promoting or providing other Sprint products and services that they think would interest me.
The opt-out number on the card is 1-800-865-7786 and following the voice prompts
This happened with Sears a couple months ago. They kept calling my cell. One time, I actually answered, waited 10 seconds and someone answered... and I blasted! I told them I don't want their calls and that I had already reported them as a DNC violator. Looks like I have to do that to Sprint now, too.
i've gotten calls from this number for months now. never says who it is, they never leave a message. it's only mildly annoying now, almost used to it. i just know not too answer, one time i did, and know one answered, so i hung up.
Same free phone offer from Sprint. When I pressed her, she said she's not actually with Sprint, that they are a 3rd party contractor known as "NTO Financial," (I might have misheard one of the initials).
I received this calls more than 3 times a day. I wish the way to stop these calls.
Six times in the last 10 days and counting. 9/22, 9/27, 9/28(2 times), 9/29, 10/3. Have not answered any and searched web to find that this is Nextel/Sprint calling Sprint customers (I'm one). Have emailed Sprint to cease and desist and "re-listed" cell number at DoNotCall.gov.
Could be an ex-Sprint customer soon if they don't get their $#!+ togehter.
These people have been calling me up to 4 times a day for over a month from either this number or 866-463-3021. I've told them my number is on the National DNC list and they still call. I've told them to put my number on their DNC list and they still call. I don't answer and they still call......
I keep getting calls from this number every day. I left Sprint to go with T-Mobile because Sprint sucks. Now they want me back as a customer? Good luck, Sprint...
I answered a phone call from this number about a week ago and it was a lady who asked if I wanted to add another phone line to my Sprint plan. Something seemed a bit off about her like she wasn't quite professional. Plus, I have been with Sprint for several years and have never received a call like this before. Now I get calls from this number on a daily basis. I followed the suggestions on this site and did not call this number but emailed Sprint at officeofprivacy@sprint.com to be put on their do not call list. If it some scam though I do not expect this will stop the phone calls.
Message is to Sprint PCS Customers own phones. Sprint does not own up to the message. You have to pay money to get them to stop. They have a list your number option, but it does not do any good. Have called it 3 times in last month and still get calls
Has anyone figured out who this is?
die bastards!! ha ha Im so sick of this.
Called my business cel twice then my ground line. On a Saturday morning. I shall not describe my state of mind right now, other than I will never use Sprint, ever.
Pretty viscious sales tactics, and pretty STUPID.......
I just got a call from this number.Upon google searching i realised there have been tons of victims to such telemarketing calls. Will call Sprint and tell them to STOP calling and wasting my day time minute and then charging me for it.
call the number back 866-463-3020 and will prompt you to be removed from the list.
Sept 29, 2006. Called at 1:55 pm. Rang twice, then hung up prior to answer.
Post code 98012
Random call, I didn't answer, no message.
it was just blank -- no from whom. it was trying to sell me a new sprint/nextel phone
I used to be with Nextel and then ported my number to Sprint (even though they merged)in order to get a CDMA phone instead of the iDen phones. I guess Nextel is still calling from this 866 # for promotions. Just don't answer the call, then call the number back and it has an option to add your number to the 'Do not call list'. Pretty easy :) Good luck!
This number is from an automated SPRINT company promotional call. Simply call back and follow the instructions to be removed from their list.
I get two a day from this number.
Half the people say it's from Sprint, half the people say it's not. Sprint doesn't profit by calling all of us and hanging up, but a scammer making a call list might. The 911-xxx-xxxx is probably someone using VOIP to fake caller ID, something which will soon make this guessing game impossible.
Repeated calls from this #. It is a Sprint marketing promotions number. Even though I am on the national "do-not-call" list, they seem to call daily M-F. Today I called them back and instructed them to stop calling.
Emailed Sprint Cust Serv through their website or ecare@cc.sprintpcs.com requesting to be blocked from all telemarketing calls, Sprint and others. They asked for the following:
a. Your PCS Phone Number
b. Your email address on the account
c. Your Mailing Address
Next reply said it was done!
I get a call from this number every coule of days. Just had one now...the ID always comes up blank and they never leave a message.
I've been bombarded as well and my experiences are the same as everyone else here except for reacting to Sprint/Nextel.
THEORY: Are we perhaps all locked onto a "sales" theory vs. considering that this may be some form of research based solely on customer reactions? For ex: how many of us call back the # or answer unknown callers or utilize thier DNC service, etc. Other than looking up the #, I've chosen to ignore them. DON'T DRINK THE KOOLAID!
I don't answer my cell if I don't know the number. This number is in my call history in 6 of the 10 slots I have. All at different times. They never leave a message.
Have received at least 3 calls from this number- I missed the 1st 2 and they did not leave a message, and when I answered the 3rd, they hung up.
Uh oh... got my first one of these calls today. It better be the last because I don't have time for this shit... if I get another one I'll be switching carriers.
I got a call from this (866-463-3020) number at 7:00 pm est. Caller ID didn't say anything.
Got 2 or 3 of these calls. I e-mailed Sprint and told them that if they didn't stop the telemarketing calls I would switch carriers. They e-mailed back and said they would block my number from telemarketing calls from now on. Haven't received any more calls yet but we'll see.
Got my first call from this number and all I could hear was some office noise in the background. @2:59PM
today was the first call i got from this number, if it happens again imma raise hell
OK, EVERYBODY seems to be assuming it's indeed from Sprint - but if you answer and they don't say anything... why would they call? Clearly this is a automated dial but for what purpose?
Received call on cell phone on 9/27/06 @ 12:55pm.
I have recieved a few calls from this number in the last week. Following the suggestion on this forum that it originates from Sprint marketers, I emailed Spring's privacy dept. per instructions on Sprint's website: sprint.com
Here is a quote from the webpage I referenced above:
"Do-Not-Call Policy. Sprint Nextel maintains its own "do-not-call" list to enable subscribers and potential customers to prevent future telephone marketing calls to any phone number. During a telemarketing call, you may be asked to contact Sprint Nextel Customer Care at a toll-free number given to you during the call if you wish to register a do-not-call request. You also may register your request by sending an email to officeofprivacy@sprint.com. Sprint Nextel will promptly record your preference, although you should allow up to thirty (30) days for your number to be removed from any Sprint Nextel sales campaign then underway."
Second phone call this week while I am seeing patients.
Time 4:08pm, 9/26/06.
No message left.
I called the number back, it was Sprint wanting to let me know about their great offers. Immediately after tho it gave me the option of entering my number to be taken off their call list...so we'll see if that works or not.
It's Sprint/Nextel calling about promotional stuff. If you call the number back it gives you an option to be put on their Do Not Call List.
Received tha call at 1:29. Caller id just showed the number and they didnt leave a message.
I've received several calls from this number but have never picked up. Of course, they never leave a message. I called the number left by another commenter to get off their call list, and recognized the recording as one I had ALREADY called and indicated I did not want my number to be shared! I had done this at least 2 months ago, and I just did it again now. The fact that they blatantly ignore my wishes for my number not to be shared is, at the least, irritating, and at the most, absolutely ridiculous.
another call this morning. it's almost always 11:20 every time they call and this is the first time it's been 2 days in a row so it seems like it's getting more regular! this is terrible.
I just got a call this morning. I called it back and it was a sprint nextel recording. I called Sprint(India outsource) they told me that they do not know what department would be calling me because I am not a customer(I just left sprint two weeks ago) They said their policy is not to call anyone who is not a customer. I told them If i continued to receive calls I had not choice but to report the number to the FTC do not call list and they agreed with me. Sounds like it could be a scam.
first call from sprint. should i file a complaint against them as i am on the DNC?
Every morning, 8.30am like clockwork... no message
Apparently Sprint ignores the "call back to get on our do not call list," as I keep getting repeated calls.
These idiots keep calling me offering free phones and I tell them to stop but they dont.
It's sprint.
I answered it one day, they were offering me a free phone to go with the one I already have (wtf?), I said no, and they said ok, and hung up.
since then I have recieved 2 more calls that I have not answered.
I have been with Sprint for over 8 years and never rec'd these kinds of calls or solicitation calls. In the past couple of weeks I have had several from this number and also to my home number. No messages ever left and I just don't answer.
9/6 10:15 am
9/11 9:45 am
9/14 10:05 am
9/25 11:40 am
just number comes up, no name etc...
Keep getting calls in the morning on my Sprint Cell phone! No messages, will wait and see.
didn't leave a message
called me 3 times over a week, i never pick up they never leave a message.
I called it back, and it was Sprint/NexTel. You can follow the directions to take your name off the call list.
I have been getting many calls from this number. They are always there when I answer and say they are calling on behalf of Sprint. I’ve now asked 4 times to be taken off of their list. The last time they called I yelled at the guy and told him if they didn’t stop calling I was switching to Cingular. He started yelling back at me saying he personally had never called in the past. I told him he better get it straight with his “friends” or I would be filing harassment charges. He hung up on me.
Idiots. Grrrr. I have a feeling that calling back to put me on their DNC list only promotes more calls, similiar to "unsubscribing" to junk emails that only serves to verify a legit email address.
One more thing.. When I got angry about the excessive telemarketing, "Jerry," the telemarketer told me that he was just going to call me again tomorrow at 9. He threatened me!! This is now considered harrassment and the second my contract is up with Sprint, I'm out.
Spring has called me now at least 10 times. Next time I'm going to record them and post it on the internet. I'll keep you posted.
Got my 1st call from 8664633020 today: Showed up in my Incoming Calls phone log, but I guess I missed it. Sounds as if I'm in for a rough time, if the other posts here are any indication. =(
They have called me 9-22-06 4:46est, 9-21-06 2:02est,and 9-20-06 9:57est. And I'm sure they are not going to stop. When they call I don't even answer my phone. They should all be distroyed!!
It was to my Sprint cell phone, and I don't answer if I don't know who it is. It was the number only.
Got a call on Monday and called back, where you get a message saying how to get them to stop calling. I chose that option, then got another call today....
BTW, I may be wrong, but I don't think these calls violate the FTC's Do Not Call registry, because (assuming you're a Sprint subscriber, which seems to be the case for most of these) you have a prior business relationship with Sprint.
Recieved last call at 12:16. Back to back missed calls and they didn't leave a message either time.
Called me two days in a row. Both in the AM when I'm at work. Left no message each time. Let's hope they stop.
Received call at 1:53PM on 9/20 and again this morning at 9:31AM, 9/21. Don't recognize, won't answer.
Call number 2 - 9:40 AM this morning. I sent a really nasty email to Sprint yesterday. I have been a Sprint customer for years and these phone calls didn't start until Sprint and Nextel combined. I had previously added my number to the DNC list and evidently it didn't work and I let Sprint know that they are about to lose my business becasue I only get marketing calls on my cell phone from Sprint/Nextel.
866-463-3020 called on Wednesday Sept 20, 2006 at 4:18 pm missed call, phone number only
I have just received my first phone call from 866-463-3020 today. A few months back, I was receiving multiple calls from 888-760-2478 and had to call Sprint Customer Service multiple times to make them stop - now I'm getting calls from this number. I have a Sprint cell phone and have already requested that my account be flagged so that I will receive no marketing calls - evidently, it only works for a short while and then they start calling with a new number.
this is sprint number calling for a customer satisfaction survey specially for ppl who plan goinhg to expire in near future
Irritating
They called at 9am and woke up me up. I work a late shift until 3am so I dont appreciate it.
I hope I find their office so I can talk to them face to face.
Two calls, 1:57pm, 7:58pm,then a text message @ 4:27pmtrying to sell me NFL Mobile.
Got a couple of calls
I have been receiving several calls a week from this number and from 866-463-3021. When I called back, the message said it was from Sprint, and gave me an option to opt-out. This is the second time I have opted out this month.
I too have gotten 20+ calls from this number and added myself to the DNC list. I callled Sprint customer service today to ask them to please take me off this list and they said that this is must be a scam and they do not have ANY 866 numbers. If you can, do not call the number back and do not enter your phone number to the list.
Just number
15 second call, nobody on the line, hung up.
I can't believe they charge us by the minute, and then waste them by telemarketing their own customers. What happened to business ethics? I just added mine to the DNC list, too.
Called me at 10:29a on 18sept06
called my cell phone this morning,no message
From SPRINT, my cell phone provider.9 16 06 then called twice
Phone rang. I picked up and no one was there. As far as I know, this is my first call from this number.
I added my number to the sprint dnc list. we'll see if it works here as well.
This is annoying. Leave me alone already! I never answer, and they never leave a message. Called today at 4:09pm (they usually call 2-3 times a day)
they call once a day...really annoying...whatever it is I don't want it!
i get calls from this number..and then from a 885 number and this is crazy but a call from a 911-xxx-xxxx number!?! i have a sprint phone...ive never tried calling any of them back..wtf?
These people have been calling me every other day! But I never answer when I see the number on my ID.
Called on 9/15 at 9:30am. Caller ID just listed the number and no name.
Just added myself to the DNC list they have. 6 calls in one day is a bit extreme.
Geez, I've been receiving calls from this number both at home and on my cell phone. It was about once a day at home (even Saturdays) for a few weeks, then they stopped calling my home and the very next day started with my cell. They call 2-3 times a day and still on Saturdays too. I never answer. I am on the Do Not Call List and put myself on their DNC list as well. I have had sprint service for over 6 years now...this is ridiculous if it's really from them. Way to harrass a good customer!
Called today @ 10:15 am est. Hung up when I said Hello.
Today I got a postcard from Sprint that tells you how to opt out of these annoying calls! Finally!
The number is:
1-800-865-7786
Just Number
They just keep on calling ... it's annoying. I've added my no. to their do not call list. Let's see if it works.
Here we go again. Another two weeks of ringing starting at 4am from this phone number.
number called me twice today, they left no message.
it's sprint
had to add my number to their DNC list twice to get the calls to stop.
First time receiving a call from this number. I actually missed the call so I did not get to find out who it was. Now after reading all these other comments, it has me wondering if I too am going to experience the repeated call problem.
Want to know who this is calling me.
just call them back and add yourself to the do not call list
Received call @ 8:19 PM. Didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message. Hopefully, it'll be a one-time thing...
I just recieved one of these calls. They said they were from Sprint (my carrier) and offered me a free phone. They didn't really sound like sprint though and tried to offer me "privilages" that I already had. I would be suspicious if you get a phonecall.
An annoying service call from Sprint sales and service.
ive gotten this today and yesterday. i havent answered yet, and i dont plan too. i doubt sprint is placing these calls, its probably some other company posing as sprint to make people think it is legit. then adding your name to the do not call list is just a way for them to prove that the number they are calling is valid. therefore they can sell your number to other telemarketing companies...
i suggest not answering or calling back. your not going to reach a person. these calls are placed by a robot, no one has enough time on their hands or is lame enough to call all of us everyday more than once a day. if the calls continue, i am contacting sprint and having them block the number
I get this number and a 305 area code call b/w 2-3 times a day. The DNC option appears non-functional.
Sprint customer now getting this call 2 times a day
This number has been calling every day or two for the last few weeks and they never leave a message.
I've been with Sprint for years and just started getting calls from this number last year. Used to be just once in a while - now it's 3 times/day for the last week!
I get several calls a day from this number. I decided to answer the call today and a man offered me a free cell phone. I told him that I did not believe that he was with sprint and asked his name. He told me his name was "Bhelson (not nelson) Vasquez". I told him I was on the Do-not-call list and that I would file a complaint if he kept calling. He said alright. ...
This number is related to the number 888-760-2478 found at the page: whocalled.us
Please file a complaint with the DNC, FCC, and Better Business Beureas.
Just number comes up
calling 1-4 times a day, everday for 2 weeks So annoying!
I received a call from this number today on my cell phone (Sprint), when I answered the phone, they hung up. It was at 1:56pm Central Time
Got a call from this number, so I played there game and called them at least 20 times before finally telling them it would be much worse next time they called.
Number Only showed. Man's voice asked to speak to my name. Hung up immediately. If it is Sprint Nextel as some have noted, I have no interest in extending my contract for another line and seeing my monthly rate jump up after being promised it would stay the same.
Received a call from 866-463-3020 at 2:12 pm EST. 1st time receiving this call and no message left.
They called me twice today:
9:28am (PST)
7:12pm (PST)
I don't answer numbers that I don't recognize, so this is all of the information I have.
Started getting calls from the other number (888-760-2478) less than a week ago, this is my first from this one. I have yet to answer it. Already complained to sprint and threatened to change carriers and I was informed that Sprint is "working on it". Whatever.
Got a call from this #, didn't answer it, no message. Searched on the internet to find out it's Sprint. Called back and added my # to their do not call list.
fyi... the other number they are using is: 888-760-2478
This is the second toll=free number they are using. Getting 3-4 calls a day now between the 2 numbers. Asked to be taken "off the list" weeks ago... calls have INCREASED.
I unlisted my number and then the calls started. I am getting bewteen 30 to 50 hangups a day on my answering machine and many of them are from this number.
We have had repeated calls from this number. They don't leave a message and hang up when you answer.
I have added my name THREE TIMES to there do not call list.... I am still getting calls daily from them. I hope they know how much they are ruining there business. I wouldn't use there service if they were only service around all over this stunt they are pulling.
I just added myself to their DNC list for the SECOND time. We'll see...
It does not work..I tried it and now I get a call everyday, sometimes 2-3 times.
I called the number back. It's Sprint. There's an option if you listen to the message that you can add you number to the Sprint do not call list. I'll just have to wait and see if it works....
I received a call from this number today at work! I noticed it on my caller ID numerous times. Today, I answered and it hung up on me.
I have been getting more and more of these harrassing phone calls from "unavailable' numbers and I have had it! I am on the national DNC Registry and still these idiots call. Today it was the above mentioned number....they damn well better stop! I am a menopausal woman and hell hath no fury like a menopausal woman!!!!!!
This is the second call from this number. I called and hopefully they will not call back now.
I have been getting a call from this number at least 10 times a day for the last week or more. They don't leave a number.
Really would like to have the company name show up on caller ID and not "Out of Area". They have been calling non-stop. Don't they get the hint, that if you don't answer your phone after the 20th time, NO TO CALL BACK!!!!
Many many blank messages. Called and told them that if it does not stop, I will have to file harrasment report. I know it is an extreme but 25 calls is enough.
Used to be a Nextel customer but Sprint has me now (from merger) Junk calls from Sprint are one of teh great benefits of this merger. Added my number to their DNC List!
Also called number back and entered my number to their "Do not call" list.
called the number back to find it was from Sprint. They offered a DNC option to which you could add your number. We'll see if it works.
There is another one. They just keep on calling and calling. Don't leave a message and hangs up when you answer.
I wish there was a way to stop these calls from coming in.
