How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Left no message. Caller ID says it is SPRINT. ???? Who knows!
They wake me up in the middle of the day when I'm a day sleeper, it stinks! Wish I coul block these calls!
I received a call from this number. I call back and a woman asked for social security number. I did not give the number and called Sprint. The take note y congratulated me for not giving the number. Take care.
ESte telefono solo quiere pedir tu informacion. No es de Sprint.
Yo llame y me pidieron el seguro social, por supuesto no se lo di
y llame a Sprint.
Just got one from this number. Left no message. Thanks to whocalled.us, though, it's now been added to my phone's "Telemarketing Spam" contact, which has silence as a ringtone.
called and left no message.
Dear Sprint, If you call my cell phone again trying to solicit me, and waste my personal time, and waste my minutes, I will be shopping for a DIFFERENT mobile carrier this holiday season. That means you will loose a customer! Stop calling me to sell me more crap. I thought I had the "everything plan!!" Stop harrassing me please, I have more important things to do. Now my battery just ran out and its b/c you keep calling my number and setting off my phone all day. Enough already!
I'm getting these calls daily too. How do we get them to stop this soliciting?
No voice, terrible connection. Many calls.
Do as has been posted,
call the number back, go through the "prompts",
then press 6 to "opt out" of any future calls.
As Tater suggested, I called Sprint CS today and requested my phone be taken off Sprint's "Direct Market Feature" for my phone number. Sincerely hope this works.
SPRINT PROMOTION
It is Sprint’s (and most all legitimate company’s) published policy to never request a PIN or security question answer on a call to you.
Remember that phone systems are vulnerable to attack and your caller ID or internet lookup may indicate that the call is for real.

If you phone allows to to program a different ring tone for callers, choose one that you know is for junk calls, so you will recognize not to answer. My phone allows me to choose no ring, so I'm not bothered at all.
When I called it back it's some stupid sales call from Sprint about starting a new line of service. Listen, if I want to add another line, I'll call you. Thanks.
This is Sprint calling to try to get you to upgrade your plan or buy something else to spend more money. The last time they called, I could hardly understand the gal's thick foreign accent.
I received a call from this number 866-463-3017 and nobody was on the line. I just found this Sprint site that lists Sprint corporate numbers, and the number in question belongs to Marketing. sprintusers.com Search on the number and you'll find it easier.
I did call the number back, as was recommended by Amanda, below, and selected option 6 to not receive any more promotions. Thanks for this website.
I received a text message asking me to call them to record my name for an intro of text to landline message, sounds like fraud.
I often get calls from this number, and my experience goes along with everyone else's. I demand everytime to be removed from thier list. I went to the Sprint website and and started digging around. I found the below email address linked to telemarketing calls and sent a nasty note. This is the reply I received. Maybe it will help! Give it a try. I don't believe reporting this to the FCC matters.

Sprint Nextel
They called me and they aren't calling me again. I am writing to the Sprint Nextel corporate office to file a complaint. Corporate information:
Sprint Nextel
2001 Edmund Halley Drive
Reston, VA 20191
Phone number: 703-433-4000
I have received about 4 calls from this number in the last 48 hours. I just dont answer it. They havent left a message. Hopefully they will give up and stop calling. We'll see.
It's a guy with a heavy eastern accent. He claims I need to chnge my sprint security code number. I told him i would not do this over the phone.
This is Sprint calling. I've had a couple of marketing reps call me from this number about six months ago. The first one just would not give up on trying to get me to switch my plan to another with an additional line and phone upgrade. The woman would not take 'no' for an answer; so I just had to hang up on her. Same thing with a call a week later with another rep. Now I just do not answer when I see this number on the caller ID. Calls from this number are getting more frequent though. It seems at least once every two weeks they will call for a couple days straight. Annoying.
Ive been getting calls from this number all day...prob. about 16 to 20 times already. The number is 8664633017. I am getting really tired of this
I have had this number call me 16 times today. They don't say anything i am getting really tired of this.
I keep getting phone calls from this number and I got another one today. how can i make this stop?
I get calls from this stupid number almost everyday (sometimes at 7:00am!) with no answer. Quite annoying.
I got a call from this number, , they did not say anything.
This number calls here frequently. Sometimes we answer and nobody is there. Most of the time with call Id we ignore it. However, today they have called 5 times and it is only 2:45 in the afternoon! Sometimes I pick up the phone when they call and hang up on them before they can try to say anything.
Called 4 times before 3p.m. I never picked up, they just waste my minutes.
Got two calls in a row. Did not answer, they left no message.
I got called 7 times in less than 24 hours.
I just called it back. If you want it to stop, call the number and press 6 to stop promotions.
They just called me, so I googled the number. I'm on Nextel, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I'm a high school graduate on summer break, and I hate being bothered at 10am while I'm sleeping.
I finally called back.If you press option 6 you will not get any new promotions calls,so they say.
I have been getting these calls to, now more frequently. It was just once a day, and i wouldn't answer. The last 2 days it's been 3-4 times during business hours. 2-3 times after 5pm. I wonder if the real Sprint even knows what's going on. Thank you to everyone for commenting, at least I won't answer the phone.
Called @ 9:30am. I answered but didn't say anything. The accented man just kept saying "Hello" and eventually hung up.
register all of your telephone numbers on donotcall.gov as long as you do not have an estabished business relation with the telemarketer it will stop the calls. (other restrictions apply as well) I haved reduced my telemarket calls via this registry. I also report unwanted calls on the donotcall.gov web site. MAKE SURE TO USE the DOT_GOV Site only.
It's definitely Sprint/Nextel.
I received a call and the man stated that he is with Sprint Nextel and he offered to give me unlimited downloads, games and ringtones, and internet service. I felt this was really strange so I contacted customer service and they stated that it is fraud and they told me to call the fraud hotline at 781-276-3021. I asked to talk to a manager and he told me that he can give me the plan for 10.00 and a manager doesn't have to do that for me. He wanted to know why I need a manager he asked for my password and I refuse to give it to me and i hung up. I picked up my phone to call Nextel and he was on the line still it took me 20 min to get him off the line.

I am so sick of this scam that I don't know what to do !!!!!!!!!
Over several days I got calls where the phone would ring once and before I could answer it stopped. I also got calls from this number and when the call was answered no one would speak.
They have called my home 17 times in the last 20 days! I never answer and they never leave a message.
They called, offering a discount on my monthy bill. Problem is that only Goverment accounts from Sprint/NEXTEL can call me or access my account. This was a call from a heavy accented middle eastern woman who sounded like she was calling from 7-11. I started interigating her and she started to get nervious and just hung up. My feeling is that this is a scam.
I get daily calls from this number. When I call it back I reach Sprint together with Nextel. It is extremely annoying as I am already a Nextel customer with multiple lines. What more could they want???
First time called today, but other numbers from the Sprint/Nextel Marketing have phoned.
They called me twice in a span of 5 minutes...nobody on the other line.
Peace at last. I called Sprint *2 from my phone. They turned off their direct marketing "feature" on my phone. No more calls in the past 2 days. It does take about 24-48 hours to stop. Well worth the 10 minute wait.
Pretty sure it's fraud...they claim to be from sprint...i told them i was not interested and they said to call them back at the # on the caller id....do not do any account changes through them calling you. Call Nextel/Sprint directly if need be.
I have been a Sprint customer for a long time with no problems. Now I get these calls every day! I put them on vibrate and now it's starting to ring again...low but still a ring.
This is Sprint Nextel Marketing call.
I have received 10 calls from this number in two weeks. Rings once. I called back to find out who it was, got the recording.
I keep getting calls from them and I am not a Sprint or Nextell customer and I am on the do not call list. Like others said they have called twice a few minutes apart everyday for the past few weeks.
It is Sprint's sales department. If you call their customer service, they can add you to their do not contact list for calling & mailing.
I've been relentlessly called by this number over the last few weeks. I refuse to answer it, and I will report it to the FCC as another poster indicated. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
The phone rings once with a Missed Message, then a call is made again with only 866-463-3017. I answered once and could not understand a word other than Sprint. I contacted Sprint and the company claimed no solicitation calls are generated by them. The only change to my Sprint account was I upgraded my phone and the calls started.
I have received over a dozen calls from this number in the last week. I have never heard the phone ring when they called until today (it rang twice and stopped). They do not leave a message, but they usually call twice, a couple minutes apart, each day.
After receiving and missing several dozen calls from this number during the last two weeks, I called the number back today and was greeted by a recording to "press 5 to add a line or upgrade my phone" Pressed 5 to see what happened. Got connected to a woman with a weird accent and could barely understand what she was saying. Had to repeat my phone number several times before she was able to "pull up my account." I asked if she was with Sprint and why they were so persistent in calling me everyday. Was told to "hold on while she..." something. I don't know but I heard a bunch of typing. Then she asked for more information and I repeated that I want to know who she was and why they were calling me so frequently. More typing followed by "sir, what is your password?" Told her I wasn't giving it to her. She asked for it again and I told her that I have no idea who she is, what she wants and that I certainly wasn't going to give her my password. She asked me to hold on some more while going back to typing whatever it was she was typing and with that, I hung up. I'll play the game for a little while but this one is BIZARRE! Not worth trusting these people, IMO.
It is Sprint or Nextel calling about your phone bill
I've been getting calls almost everyday from this number for the past two weeks. I was never able to answer them because I was always in school. Today they called me around 1pm and I answered but I couldn't understand what the woman was saying so I told her she had the wrong number. She probably didn't understand what I was saying because she kept repeating the same thing so I hung up. Then at 6pm she called again and she asked for someone with a strange first name and my last name. I just claimed that the first and last name she stated were not mine so hopefully she will not call again.
This is Sprint. I called it back once and it was a recording that if I wanted to add features press?? I get a call a day, I'm not home, there's no message. I called back on Sat and it said Sprint not open, business hrs... I'm going to call and cancel my Sprint as soon as the contract is up. How rude of them!!
I have recieved several calls from this number with no responses from the other end. It's getting real old real fast!
Keeps coming up on my phone. Do not answer calls from people I do not know.
I keep getting these calls -- 4 over the past week. I finally answered one, woman with accent trying to pronounce my name was funny, then when I confirmed it was me, we were disconnected.
Just received the 5th call from this #. A guy w/ a really bad accent picked up this time after I said "hello" 4X (auto dialer screening?) I told him I didn't appreciate paying for minutes to be marketed to, and he told me it was a free call. Then I said why don't you call me on my home #, and added that he should know my home # if he's w/ Sprint. He abruptly hung up, so I'm guessing it's a scam (or another poorly conceived marketing dept. ploy that will backfire w/ bad P.R. and negative customer reactions). BTW, I'm on the DoNotCall list, too.
I received two calls from them today. I did not answer. I was going to put them in my phone book and attach a silent ringer to it so my phone would not ring, but I found that I don't have that option. Bummer.
this nmber is from Sprint. Soliciting services from its customers.
When I finally answered after multiple calls, it is the Sprint marketing dept. trying to sell another line. They only call existing sprint customers.
I just googled that number after missing a call from it last night at an odd hour. I'm grateful for this web site and the info from all the posters. I will follow the FCC complaint link but from what people are saying it sounds like a scam.
They called about once a day for the last 2-3 weeks, I finaly answered today (4/9/2007 6:55pm central)... Still have no idea what she said, something about a new phone, yada yada... I couldn't understand a word they said, so i made sure to use my thickest Norwegian/Iron Range accent, out of frustration they gave up...
I have been getting calls a couple of times a day. Same story as others. Most of the time when I pick up the call is dead. One time someone with a foreign accent tried to tell me that he was from Sprint I could get a new line and phone for free. I told him I was at work but he wouldn't stop. I had to hang up on him. I am a Sprint customer and I seriously doubt he was actually from them.
they just called...i didnt pick up.. no message, theyve been calling lately. so annoying
Its sprint wireless wasting my time again. this is like the third time they called my phone in the morning. but hey they claim to have some great deals... do you believe it? i don't
On 3-27-2007 & 3-28-2007 received call from 866-463-3017 hung up before i answered
I received a call and the man stated that he is with Sprint Nextel and he offered to give me unlimited downloads, games and ringtones, and internet service. Love the internet for helping me vaguely identify these calls; HATE the calls!
Idiot operation if you ask me.. don't know why or how someone can be so persistent. I'm getting calls almost every day since maybe a month now. This is harassment at it's best. I hope they burn in hell.
I called the number back today and got a recorded message that gave me the option of not hearing about any plan updates. Hopefully, that will stop the calls.
I've missed 2 calls from this number in the past 2 days. I answered the next call 8 minutes ago. A man with an accent said he's from "New Sprint, the cell phone company."
I've heard that it's a Sprint marketing call but I haven't answered. I guess I'll have to answer and tell them that I'm thinking about switching my service because of all the calls from this number.
They just called me 5 minutes ago. The phone rang once, then stopped, but the caller id got the number.
1 minute ago, they called back. Some lady that could not speak english asked for (John) which is the name on the Nextel account. I told her we are on the do not call list and she said that does not matter because we are already customers. I told her to remove me from thier list. I had to tell her this about 5 times while she kept on talking. Finally she said they are putting our number on thier not to call list.
HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED HOW NEXTEL SUCKS NOW THAT SPRINT TOOK OVER!
I dumped Sprint before to switch to Nextel, now I am back in thier soup!
One issue I used to always have with Nextel is your phone not ringing or telling you that you had message for like days sometimes.
i have been getting the calls too. about 9am est time. i also have sprint. very annoying! i suppose i'll answer next time. my contract doesnt expire until 2008 so i dont know what they want!!
I'm on the National DoNotCall and when someone calls with a toll free number or no caller ID, I simply don't answer the call. Not wasting my minutes for someone that won't indentify themselves.
Phone just rings once or twice but no one is there - no called ID but did show the #
They called twice today at around 9:30am EST. (they had also called yesterday a few days before that and a few days before that etc). This time A person was on the other line Rosa identified herself as being from Sprint. I asked them to "remove me from their call list." She wanted 2 minutes I repeated to "remove me from their call list." She continued to speak and I repeated "please remove me from you call list. Have a nice day." and hung up. We will see if this works
Thank you Sherri for the info. It is greatly appreciated. I called Sprint to get info and now they are pestering me with undesirable calls.
This is a really odd call. Someone with a really bad accent claiming to be from Sprint. I already have a Sprint contract, so this makes me suspect that it is someone trying to do some identity theft. I'm also on the National DoNotCall, which Sprint is aware of (but apparently this crook was not).
this number has called my nextel phone everyday this week. I don't answer it since I don't know who it is!
I have them calling a few times now. I've answered the phone and no one is on the other line.
called on 6-17-2006
My phone rang 3-4 times, I answer, nobody on the other end. Its happens every between 10-11 AM for two weeks now!!!! What do I need to do to stop this???? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is Sprint/Nextel's Marketing Department trying to get you to sign a wireless contract.
My phone only rang a couple of times before they hung up - no caller ID but it did show the phone #.
Just received a phone call, they did not say anything.
