My advice - don't pick up the phone if the number is 800/866/877/unknown/000-000-0000/restricted and/or if don't expect the call from those numbers and, also, if you don't recognize the number. The reason is: if it's a person calling and need to reach you, he/she will leave a message, but most fraudulent "car insurance etc" numbers will not leave a message. This kind of scams started in February 2009 (if I remember correctly) and your cell numbers are sold to the scamers who will charge you when you pick up the phone or press any keys. This is another age of robbing the people// history repeats itself, and we may or may not support is.
the call stated it was a credit card service... and not to worry about my balance. Let's see, I actually don't own a credit card. I hung up.
It was a recorded message of a guy talking very fast in Spanish. It was my cell phone which really bothers me!
Received call 6/3 1:07 DST No message Name:Unknown
car warranty crap
health insurance qualify stuff
Automated voicemail message left on my teen-aged daughter's cell phone about credit cards. Phone number has been on the do-not-call list for a week, not enough time to file complaint.
Sam Parker @ 877-827-7861
Car warranty stuff I'm sure
Calling to offer lowcost healthcare insurance. "Sam" wants me to call 877-827-7861 for more information. Ha! Keep reporting these ass-goblins to the do not call list and the FTC. The Government is finally going after those clowns who call about the auto warranties and stuff, now lets get these butt-munchers shut down!
STUPID CAR WARRANTY NONSENSE....
WTF>

Ditto (just like Gene). How can we stop these idiots from calling our business or cell phone numbers?
I got a call with a pre-recorded message saying my warranty is about to expire. Since I bought my car less than a year ago, I was calling back to see exactly when it expired. A lady "verified" my information, year, make, model of the car. She had it right, but she needed to send me over to "Mike". Mike asked how many miles on your car. I told him and he said they only cover for 70,000 miles or less. I said, "Your message says I'm about to expire, so why would you think that I'm not already covered?" He said I didn't have a warranty with them, but would like to give me one but need to run it by his manager. "Chris" gets on the phone and give me some hoooblahhh about, we can extend your warranty this time, but only for now. He puts "Mike" back on the phone and he gives a spill about $2,000+! I said wait a minute, if I had that kind of money I would have gotten my car fix with it. I'm not about to pay for that crap for a just in case something happens for that much. I don't want to pay for insurance, so why would I pay for this. He went on with his sales tactics and I called him on it and he denied he was trying to do that! What am I stooopid (sarcastically speaking) or something? Anyhoot, he kept trying to pressure me into asking to borrow money from friends and family for the "super low down payment" (WHATEVA!!). I'm not about to borrow money from anyone to pay you for something I haven't seen, touch, smelled, or what have you. I got the money but I ain't giving it to you. He got mad at my remarks and said, "Just fine then, have a great day!" I hung up and I'm laughing that they couldn't pull a fast one on me. I went in thinking they were legit, til he got to saying we'll cover this and that and whatever. Who's laughing now? Suckers! I bet that's what they say to the people who actually gives credit card info and checking account info. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THESE FOOLS!
Recorded message beginning with "This is the second warning..." I hung up after that, because I know this is going to be one of those bogus car warranty come-ons.
