I called them back, they asked for my phone number and said they didn't have it in the database. The lady then asked me for my name I told her my first name but refused to give my last. I asked her what the company was called and she said some kind of debt collection agency. I asked her to repeat the name because I couldn't understand that and she said, "that things would go faster with my last name". I again refused. She asked me to confirm my phone number. I did and she said that she could not find anything in the system. She said she could use my social security number to search the database. I hung up. No way in hell am I going to give them my SSN# if I won't tell them my last name!

My husband gets charged from whoever these people are... $64 on "magazines". My husband got suckered into subcribing to who knows what and they won't stop charging him per month. Who are these jerks!?!?! $64 is a lot of money wasted! Is there anything we can do?? HEEEELLLPP!!!!

i got a call from this number recently... it he said it was from "century marketings visa's $25000 sweepstakes". i could also take a BMW or something else. i asked the person who i pictured to be like 14 with a bunch of zits and he had a cracked voice... i asked him "how do i know if your not some random person just trying to take my money?" he stammed well i was going to sell you a magazine subscription and transfer you to my supervisor.. i said i'm not interested and told him to take me off

um.. i got scammed bcoz they said that i can cancel the program anytime. now i am screw! i paid with my Bank of America Debit Card. Anything I can do? Will I be able to take back my money? they got my information..

I just came across everyones complaints about this number today. Starting near the end of March I've been receiving calls from this number on my Skpye In phone. I am not in the USA but have had the number for a year for 2 relatives to call me local. I do not use this number for any other reason. The calls come sometimes once a day other times 5 times a day, but no one speaks to me or leaves a message.

This number kept calling. Finally I answered it and they told me I won a sweepstakes. Blah blah blah-selling magaizines. Asked for credit info, then SS#. WTF?!

I keep getting called by this number. NO ONE is ever on the other end when I answer. If I try to call back, I get a message the number can not be completed as dailed. And I get another 866 number....but the first 3 digits are wrong, but the last 4 are the same....WTF?????

People, first off, don't ever give out your personal information to people you don't know. i used to get calls from these people every day, sometimes 8 times. then i went to this website: donotcall.gov. this is the National Do Not Call Registry. it works for cell phones and land lines and is good for 5 years. go and sign up with them and DON'T ever call this number back to figure out who it is. it will disable your NO CALL sign-up. it solved my problem and it should solve yours. as for those of you who gave your personal info to these people, i would call your credit card company and inform them to see if they can keep any suspicious charges from being made. i hope this helps you.

If these people call you and offer you something by voice, ask them for the company that they are calling from and you can call 8882255322 and report them to the FCC.

starting to piss me off. i get calls from this number all day at work. how do I get it to stop. I thought it was illegal to solicit on a cell phone anyway!

The 866-416-4594 number has been calling my phone a lot lately and I didn't know who it was so I answered it and stupidly gave out my information to them and I bought some magazines. I didn't know they were scammers. I really don't want them charging anything on my card. They did give me a number if I wanted to cancel my magazine subscription but I have to wait and call in another week to cancel it. I don't know what to do. Please help.

The comment about signing up to be a secret shopper really hits home because that is what I just recently did and now I am getting all of these phone calls as well. Our best bet is likely to unsubscribe from those sites and change our phone numbers. Wasn't comfortable needing to submit that for those sites anyway.

received a call one day saying that I was entered into this contest based on my Visa (beware). The "perky" operator (not too mention all of the background noise where she was working from - suspicious) was nice until I realized something was wrong and after saying no thanks, she immediately said "your loss", then click.

Hey, Ive been getting this number all day today on my cell phone. First it was during school, then after school, and just a few minutes ago.. I answered them once, but they hung up after I said hello. It really freaked me out, so my mom dialed *67 and called back but we just got that recording that tells you the number has been disconnected. Anyone know what these people want?

I finally spoke with a female that said her name is Marta Cook. She wanted to speak with my wife. She advised us that we had won a sweepstake from an entry with our Visa Card.
We never entered any sweepstake. I called back and I get the message (repeated twice) that, "Someone will be with as soon as possible" then the line goes dead.
I am reporting the number to FTC

this number just called my house and a man asked for my very young daughter, by her first name. When I asked why do you want to talk to my daughter? He siad, "Oh she is not 18?" I said no she is not! He then said "oh thanks Mrs.(last name)" which he also knew. I then asked who he was and he hung up. I tried to call the number back and got a fax line.

Jusst got the call on my cell, they didn't leave a message. I don't answer any calls that I don't recognize the caller. If you call back it can void out your DNC listing with that place. They can get around it by saying you called them.

I got the phone call yesterday.. and at first I thought it a subscription that I can cancel, so why not try it? i asked the first lady that talked to me, she say i can cancel it. Then when I reach her supervisor, after giving him the credit card #, i want to confirm can i cancel the plan, and he say no. I told him the lady before told me yes, and he say he asked the lady to come here and the lady say no. and he even say he listen to the recording i didnt ask that question. I told him I dont want it anymore, and he say you are already there, there is no way to cancel it. and he keep forcing me to continue. Then i reached the last stage, the lady ask me do I agree that i cant cancel it and it will automatically cancel. I say i dont, and she tried to convince me, and she asked do I agree or not, and i just hang up the phone. I called my credit card company for card loss, and the bank told me the last 2 transaction, and the latest one is the magazine company!! They started to charge me like 15min after the phone call, with I agreeing their terms!! They just keep forcing, and today they called me for 5 times, I didnt pick up. If they called me again tomorrow, I will play porn for them to listen.

Got a call today on my work Cell and no one has this number except for my company. Same story, called asking for someone else and mentioned a sweepstakes. I have a feeling that they are just trying every cell number in a range.

Same thing here. They called several minutes ago on my daughters phone. I called back as I have several times (got disconnected msg) and just a minute ago they called back and I answered. Some lady asked for my daughter by name. When they found thast she was not old enough to enter a contract they tried to sell me on something about avegas casino. Notice all the casio hits in your google search? Like an idiot I didn't catch and note the name! Damn! But anyway, where theres casino there is big money. Anyone else thinking class action lawsuit? I'm sure a federal investigation could reveal the callers.

They have been calling me non-stop and when I finally answered, the guy told me it was for some sweepstakes. He told me he was from UMA, which he said was the United Marketing Association (by the way, this organization does not exist). I told him I had to go bc I was at work.

When you call them to inquire who exactly they are they refuse to tell you the name of their company, they tell you they have no business relationship, your name is not in their system yet they charged something to my account. Yes I WAS SCAMED (I wonder if my wife will ever let live it down) STAY AWAY FROM THIS CALL!

These assholes call and hang up... Wish I knew who it was since Telemarketing lawsuits are in favor of the person being harassed... 100 dollars for the court setup, 2 hours for court, seeing the telemarketers have to pay out 500 bucks and lose another court case... priceless

That number call my home phone at least 4-6 times a day and like all the other stories you answer it and they hang up I have never been able to get anyone to talk out of it. I hang up immeditaly. The worst part is that they are now starting to call past 10p.m. until 1:30a.m. this is stupid, i have young children who are sleeping.

So I got three calls today from this number and when I finally answered this guy says I am entered in a contest (a trip to Nevada or something) and something about me having a credit card. I asked if it was a prank call because well just because...and the guy says no then repeats his stuff again (both times super fast). I told him no I didn't have a credit card and he asked if I had a bank card that was supported by one of the credit card companies. I said no again and he says "well thanks, good luck with the sweepstakes!" and hangs up. I thought it was weird so I started searching the number online and sure enough ...here I am....now I'm scared about what sort of monkey business they just pull over on me...I hope I didn't agree to something that was hidden in those rambling words!

These people have called me 3 times today...1 at 2:15pm, one at 8:04pm, and one at 9:00pm. I haven't answered the phone, and they do not leave a message. When I try to call back, the recording says that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. What's up with this? Is it a money scam or something?

866-416-4594 is United Marketing Association. They will pump you for personal & financial info w/ promises of free stuff and entries into sweepstakes. They tried to sell me a subscription to Time Magazine for $3.50 per week for 60 weeks. Do the math. Don't give out your info.

telemarketers--they are calling my cell number which ticks me off. Tell them to take your name off the call list and they will hang up on you.

I get 1 call once a day from 866-416-4594. It has My wife in a panic and since I have been on so many talk shows about 9/11 I just figured it was some Goverment agent or something. If I ever saw the person Making these Fake cell calls they are going to wish that they have never called my mine.

The caller said that I was in a draw for a $25,000 (Las Vegas Draw)because I had a visa or master card...She started to ask questions like "Are you Married"...at that point I said this sound too good to be true, tell me more about your company. The caller hung up the call at that point. Is this a fraud? I don't know...but it does not seem like a good idea to give over any details.
When I dialed the number back, it said that I had miss dialed.

Yeah I've gotten a call from this number about 3 tmes today and I also keep missing the call. I think the best thing for all of us to do is to call our phone company and have the number blocked.

they called and didnt leave a message then i caught one of the calls got a hang up so i called it connected got strange message i belive they have it hooked up to a computer and are trying to gather some sort of info off the phone because when i called the call didnt end it stayed connected even though you think it isnt connected look at the time it is still runing for the call. I've been getting calls from this number for months now but it's not everyday. A couple times a day once in a while. I've answered a couple of times and the call has suddenly ended. I wondered if it was a ploy to call them back when this was happening to from a New York phone number.

I get the same thing, they've called three to four times a day, and I never answer it because I figure it's a telemarketer. They even tried calling at amost 8 in the evening...is there any way that complants could be sent into the FCC or something? Especially if someone has placed themselves on the "Do Not Call" list.

BUT then he said that i had to pay 3.99 weekly for 60 months. i told him i wasn't interested and he was trying to convince me to. i told him no and so he hung up.
