How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Asked for me, when I confirmed who I was they hung up. :-(
I answerd the phone, and they asked for my Son (who is in the Navy). I said he wasn't here, could I take a message, they said no and hung up....as someone has already said "Jerks!!"

After reading Cletus' message I did some checking and that number is indeed Wells Fargo. It's on their website at wellsfargo.com
If you have a Wells Fargo account they already have your SSN.
The automated system Dave mentions asks you for your Social Security #. I hung up right then. I don't see ANY reason why a telemarketing service would need or HOW they would already reference me by my SSN. Something is VERY fishy.
We do not answer calls from UNKNOWN or UNIDENTIFIED CALLERS. Call came in on line that has been on do-not-call list since the beginning. We are Wells Fargo bank customers so that's probably how they have the #.

Did not leave a message. Called them back and requested to be put on Do Not Call list. I was transferred to an automated system and it was easy to stop further telemarketing calls from them.
they have been calling multiple times a day for the last two weeks including late at night.
Call came in on our new distinctive ring line. Did not answer, and DO NOT answer calls that are not readily identifiable with who is calling.
Called on 2/10/07 @ 1:38 p.m. Hung up when I answered.
Called on 2/2/2007 at 12:00 noon, according to caller ID. I never pick up "unknown" calls.

Another call today from these creeps. As usual there was only a dial tone when I answered. The telemarketer will get paid for the call though. They are screwing Wells Fargo royally. They don't want me to answer because they know, or suspect that I'll demand that they stop calling.
I have received multiple calls from this number. Usually by the time I pick up, they are gone. The telemarketer is paid for the number of calls placed so they don't care if we answer or not. Wonder if Wells Fargo knows how badly they're getting screwed?
Refused to tell me who they were - called at 8:43pm.
called 11/18/06 at 11:51 AM, says "unknown name.". I've seen the number before so I picked up to ask them never to call again, but they hung up when I answered. Now I know it's Wells Fargo. Jerks.
