How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

5 calls per day, every day
For the past several weeks we have received calls from this number on both our home line and my cell line. Very annoying!
This is collections from Juniper Bank, now part of Barclays. I owe them money but am declaring bankruptcy after being unemployed for a long bit. I just set there ringtone to silent.
They call repeatedly and leave no message. Calls are coming in as early as 8:15am on Sundays and holidays.
I have been receiving several calls per day for the past few weeks from this #, which I never answer any unidentified # or any # I don't recognize. Of course these fools never leave a message to identify themselves, so I will never answer my phone.
I do have a Barclays account, which I pay when I feel like since they screwed me once. I was a good client, using my card to buy my gas and groceries every month and then paying the balance in full at the end of every statement. I did this for about 18 months and the one time I had to actually wait to deposit my paycheck so I could pay them the full balance, I ended up paying them on the due date but was only 3.5 hours 'late' with the payment since they wanted it by 8PM EST and I paid it when I got home from work at 11:30 EST. Of course these greedy scumbags hit me with the $39 late fee instantly instead of giving a good customer a Mulligan and letting me go. That told me how much they care about their customers so I mailed them an angry letter filled with the most colourful curse words I could think of and included my cut up credit card with it and told them from now on I will pay them when I feel like it.
So this is either them thinking they can accomplish something by doing this or it's a company/individual who has access to customer info from Barclay and is using it to run a scam. Either way, don't ever sign up for a Barclay credit card.
If it is a collection agency or a credit card company, and you have taken representation such as a lawyer or a debt mangement company, once informed of this they can only call your representation according to the Fair Credit Act. Section 805 considers this type of behavior abusive and has made it illegal. Remember if you are represented with the intention of paying back through an agreed upon consolidation, they have to stop calling.
There are laws to protect us, especially if they are repeatedly calling a cell number. They called my cell number twice within 5 minutes (in which they can get in trouble) I owe no debt to these people and told a representative to take my number out of their system, 3 minutes later they called again and this time got a different person and asked specifically if my number was removed. He stated no, and I advised him to do so and I expected no more calls to my cell. I am a debt collector for a living and know the laws. I am waiting for them to call my cell again!!
They are calling my cell 410-336-0378-incessantly.
Got many phone calls from this number, all hours of the day, all days of the week. Always there was no person on the other end. Call the number back and it says "Please enter your full account number or social security number" and that is all it will allow you to do. I found a way around their system and entered a "valid" social security number and it got me to some representative who could only say "Please give me your account number." I asked who she was and I got some cryptic letter/number combination. I asked who she worked for and she said Barclay's. Then again asked for my account number. I told them I wouldn't give them any information without calling them back on a real phone number. She then gave me the same 866 number. Duh! I asked for the main number for the company. Response as expected of "I don't have that information. Please give me your account number or your social security number." I then asked to talk to a stuipdvisor. I got someone who claimed to be a Senior Level Account Specialist. I asked him for his information and I got that his name was Archie and his employee number was CTMGPE. Wow. I asked him to prove to me that he worked for them and to provide me a number to call them back on that was not the same 866 number and for the main line. The guy looked for 10 minutes and came back with the same 866 number. I hung up. They will be getting a complaint filed against them.
By the way, I have filed complaints with the FCC, Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's Office. I told them, yes I owe Juniper $50 and I understand they have a right to contact me to collect on that money. I said, but they shouldn't be allowed to call a person over 100 times a week, 7 days a week, on holidays, on saturday and sunday, at work etc. . It's ridiculous that they call like that. And it's crazy that they start calling at 7 AM and are still calling at 10 PM. All 3 of the above agencies told me that if I have an acct with this company, nothing can be done about the calls. Now...if you don't have an acct with them and they are bothering you like this, that is probably a different story. But if you do have an acct, don't waste your time trying to complain to anyone. Makes no difference if you are behind on your payments or not. Simply by having an acct, these morons can call you all day long if they want to.
This is a call from Juniper / Barclays. If you are unfortunate enough to have one of their insignificant little credit cards, may God help you. I suggest you find a way to pay it off in full asap and cancel your card. Never to do any business with them again as long as you live. Because if you owe them one single cent past the due date, they will totally swamp you with rude calls from sunrise to well after bedtime at night, about every hour or two. And this goes on 7 days a week and even on holidays. Even on Christmas day etc. . They will call you and wake you up in the morning, while you're trying to sleep in an extra hour on saturday or sunday. They will still be calling you at ten o'clock at night, long after your small children are in bed trying to sleep. They will call you at work, even after you tell them that they are going to get you fired if they keep calling. Because you know, that makes really good sense, if they cause you to lose your job, then it will take you even longer to pay them. But they continue to call regardless. And when they call, they ask when you are going to pay them and of course you tell them, duh when I get the money. I can't give you what I don't have. Sorry I missed that pissy little $50 payment 3 days ago, but I get paid friday and I'll stick it in the mail then. Well thats not good enough, we need you to pay right now, over the phone. Just give us your bank acct number and we will deduct it. I say- dumbass did you not hear anything I have said? What are you going to deduct it from if theres no money in there? The retards that work for this company are pieces of scum and I hope they all rot in hell.
Calls our business all the time. When I pick it up, dead air, then click. I don't have any past due bills so I know it's not for me. Never leaves a name, or who they want. Very annoying to have them call us multiple times and say nothing.

Have received numerous daily calls 05/17/2010-present(05/24/2010). Approximately 20 calls in total. I reported them to the FCC online and they are still calling. I tell them I have no outstanding debt and that I do not have an account with them (Barclays) and they insist on collecting personal information. I have asked and demanded several times that they remove me from their call list and they still call. Reporting to the FCC AGAIN.... hope it matters.
6 calls within 6 hours and no message left. Just filed complaint with FCC.
Keep getting calls starting around 7:30 AM till 10:00 PM. They don't leave a message. I do have an account with Juniper, but I am on time with all payments. I look at my account online and everything is perfect.
They called me again this morning, before 8:30 am.
I answered and there was no-one there.
I called it back immediately.
The computer recording doesn't say a company name, and asks for your account number or SS#.
I kept hitting 0 until I got a person.
She asked for my phone # which I gave.
They found no record and she asked for my account number or SS#.
I told her I don't know what company she is with so I don't have an account number to give, and I absolutely will not give my SS#.
She told me she is with "Collections at Barclay bank".
I have no accounts with this company nor do I know who they are.
I told her that she needs to take my phone number off her call list immediately and if I receive another call I will be reporting them to authorities. She told me she would remove my number.
These people call my house 15 times a day. Here is the name and address of the CEO so you can write them and tell them to stop calling you incesscently.
Erika Curz Barkleys Bank PO Box 8885 Wilmmington, Deleware 19899-8885
I''m writing now to tell them to stop.
Have no idea - but if it a legitimate call from Juniper or Barclays think it would be MUCH less aggravating to just leave a message and if you are not interested in whatever they have to say you do not have to call them back and they do not run you nuts with repeated calls.
I received 12 calls from this number over 2 days, 4/12 and 4/13. I've filed a complaint with the FCC
Take me off your calling acounts asap-.
I have a cell phone, they keep calling me. Thankfully I have caller ID, so I do not pick up the phone if it is not a number from someone I know. From reading all the comments here, this sounds like a scam operation to me.
call every hr also, no message.
I get call every hour. They never leave a msg. When I call back its automated and it ask for your ssn. They must be out of their MIND!!
Definitely not Barclays. When you call they ask immediately for your social - don't be a fool and give it to them.
I miss calculated my payment and instead of putting in 260 i put in a 250 payment and dont you know they called me night and day for ten bucks and also charged a 39.00 late fee. Dont do business with them or Air Tran is what the card states.
Here's how I stopped the calls. I am going to post this information for every number that acts like a petulant child and persists in harassing me.
As you may be aware, you cannot block toll-free calls. That is because the creditor is not really calling from a toll free number. Toll free numbers cannot place outgoing calls. The creditors "spoof" the caller ID to look like it's coming from a toll free number, but it is not, which is why your phone service cannot block those numbers.
I am going to refer to two company's products, but I promise you I am not spamming... I am just saying what worked for me. And it works VERY well.
First up is a Zoom PCI V.92 3025C voice modem. You can find them at pacificgeek dot com for 20$
Second step is software called "CallClerk". (callclerk dot com). CallClerk software can hang up on these jokers before your answering machine picks up.
Run a phone line extension to the voice modem in your computer, and install the software. You can set the software to play a message before it hangs up on any number you want it to. I have the software set up to play a recording of "We're sorry, the number you have dialed has been disconnected" to a-holes like this. Actual phone company messages are available at payphone-directory.org
Turn off the ringers on your phone, and tell CallClerk to play a ring-tone for calls you want to accept. Unless you look at CallClerk's logs, you will NOT EVEN KNOW these jokers have called!
Sound complicated? In a way, yes, you need some kind of computer skills and some will to do this. But, let me tell you, it is SO worth it to take back control of your phone!
I think they are phishing for information. I accused them of not being Barclays. I am going to get rid of my card. FU&* them.
Well, today I learned that the several hundred calls I have received almost every 2 hours from 8 am to 10 pm daily for the last 5 months are coming from Barclay/Juniper in London UK. BTW: I never heard of these people and don't owe anyone any money. They are using WAR dialing software which can randomly call 10,000 numbers an hour hoping to luck out and find some unlucky person who has done business with Barclay Bank in the last decade. We survived two World Wars as allies, but this just might ruin relations between the US and UK since the UK has wimpy regulations pertaining to WAR dialing and allows this practice. If I ever find an e-mail address for the Queen, I'll bring this injustice to her attention!!!
Last weekend I received 32 calls from these unscrupulous maniacs. So, I have filed a complaint against this toll free number with the FCC. It's easy and you can do it online in about 5 minutes. Don't forget to "execute" your complaint (button provided). Just Google FCC and select consumer complaints. I hope other victims of "WAR dialing or abandoned calls" will also take a minute to file a complaint against these nutzoids. It takes more than one person complaining to get our gov''t to act to protect our right as a citizen "to peace and quiet". (Yep, that language is actually written in our FCC regulations). Why should Americans have to put up with England's unethical companies? We have enough sleeze-bags companies of our own to endure.
So, file away, folks. Let's make our gov't listen.
Rec'd call from someone named Sharon requesting a call back immediately regarding Carnival Sea Miles Cr Card. Called once and got a rude woman, called again and got the collections dept...
They have called me 40 times in three days...it's only 4 pm and they've already called me 14 times on a Saturday! Yes, it's Barclay's/Juniper. And they're calling me after THEY closed my account without my consent! That's what they get. BLOCK!
keep calling cell phone that belongs to my 15 year old! IDIOTS!!!
Said they were from Bank of America Credit card. They keep calling my cell non-stop. I've got to figure out how to block calls on my cell phone.
Nonstop calls for MONTHS from this number! About once every hour, beginning at 7 a.m. and continuing until nearly midnight. And yes, it's Barclay's, who should burn in hell.
This is Juniper Credit Card Services also known as Barclay's. They harrass me by phone, email and call me at work. I told them NOT to call me at work and they still do.
For the past 3weeks calls from this number 866-408-4070 start from 8:30am-10:30pm. When I answer the phone, no one says anything at first; but by the second time I say a greeting, someone will say that they are calling from Barclays about my Apple Credit Card and they would like to speak to (they ask by name). I immediately hang up because I feel like this is a scam. PLEASE DO NOT OFFER YOUR NAME OR ANY INFORMATION TO THESE CALLERS.
These rude people keep calling our cell and asking for "Dinar". We keep telling them that we have had this phone number for two years and there is no Dinar here. We have repeatly told them to stop calling as one of us has had back surgery and the other knee replacement and we do not like receiving these stupid calls while we are trying to recover!!! Idiots, they are all idiots!
Same here, they are calling daily 8-10 times even today on Sunday. Picked up today and asked why they are bothering people on Sundays. The guy was stumbling and didn't have a good answer. He asked me to speak with me (said my name), but I said it's not him and immediately they asked if they could talk to the wife of the account holder.
What a disgrace to businesses like CC banks. I am from Germany and can tell you that this kind behavior from a bank would not happen there. No wonder allot of banks went down in the US due to the unprofessional way of doing business.
several calls - hang-ups - one message threatening me to call them back, or......!
Same Call here(Barclays Bank)...looking for a person named Angela.......Told her no one every lived here with that name.....Do not call here ever again, take the number off the list.
called me 1/13/09, chick with American accent said it was Barclays. I said not our bank. I called their # back and their recording wanted the full account number or social entered. Give me a break, my IQ is over 130 and someone really expects people to fall for this. I hex them, stick pins in them and may their rock-solid coal-shaped souls burn even more. They are slowly killing themselves with their own deeds. No-one else has to do it for them if that is any consolation. Have a nice day everyone else.
No incoming caller id and no registry of it in my phone as well.
Pre recorded message
Just says please call us.
Yeah right
