Who Called Us

It's Discover Card solicitors trying to sell business credit lines for office supplies and gas back rebates. Just tell them you're unemployed and they're dumb struck.

A minimum of 3 times a day. Today we started at 7:30 AM. I requested that they remove my name from their call list, 6 weeks ago, that did work. Spoke to the regular help center and they said sorry, again. Will be changing to no contact.

I don't think this is really Discover. I called the official Discover number - 1-800-DISCOVER and they are unaware of the existence of the number that called me, claimed the card I was offered was bogus, and that they don't make outbound phone offers. I'm not sure what we can do to prevent this, but whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SS#!

Supposedly this is telemarketing from Discover. I'm cancelling my card tomorrow. Sick of this call multiple times per day.

They have been calling least 4 times a day. I called the number back and get a message about a special Discover card offer. I wait to speak to a rep and explain that I want them to stop calling me. She says that she can put me on the do not call list but she needs my account number. I tell her I am not going to give my account number out when I have no clue who she is. Her answer "well you called me asking for help and now you don't want to give me what I need to help you" I told her there was no way for me to verify that she was really with Discover. I said anyone could set up a phone number and have a recording saying they are with a certain company. She actually huffed in the phone when I said that, like I was being an idiot for being so protective of my credit card. I called the number on the back of my card (1-800-347-2683) and spoke to someone at Discover. She said that it could have been someone with the marketing department and she would make sure that my number was taken off any and all lists they have. I told her if it was someone affiliated with Discover called 5 times or more per day was a bit much and a bad way to do business. She said that if the calls continued after a few weeks then it was not Discover and someone trying to get my credit card info. I plan on writing a letter to the higher ups at Discover to let them know what's going on and I will include a list of incoming calls to my cell so they can see just how often they are calling. I would advise everyone else to do the same.

If they (the callers)are employed by Discover Card Co., then good luck to Discover Card Co.If they were imposter, Discover Card Co. should investigate.

If you all have a computer and a modem on the computer there is a program that you can download for free called Phonetray. Very simple to use, you can automatically zap 800 number, out of area or whatever you want. I set mine up for 1 ring. The only bad part is that your computer needs to be on all the time
for this to work. it also keeps a log of the calls you get as well. Works great cause before I get to the phone and if it is a 800 number it gets zapped before I can even answer the call.

They have tried to call be 2-5 times a day (everyday) for about 5 weeks. This has happened before and after I tell them I do not want what ever the start calling again after about 6 weeks.

Why these idiots keep calling, I don't know. I already HAVE an account with Discover. They never leave a message.

Come on guys, be a little smarter than that, this is NOT discover but a scammer trying to get your personal information.

It is Discover Card. After they called four times i called back this number and told them never to call me again. I later called 1800DISCOVER and they confirmed that the number calling was them and that they had taken me off the list.

i called back and it was discover card calling to tell me about new card offers. the reason no one is there when you answer is because they call at least 10 different numbers at once, whoever picks up first gets the caller, everyone else gets a dead line.

I just know that I am the no call list and they keep calling. I don't answer because I have caller ID.

I have gotten NO less than 8 calls a day for the last 6 days straight. This has got to border on harassment

got in on my caller id as unknown. I am deaf and won't call them back since i already set up to instruct to use relay service (they never called them)

I, as others, have received several calls from this number. I do not answer the phone when I don not recognize a phone number. It is very aggrevating to know that it Discover Card. This is not the first time this company has tried this technique to promote things. Just don't answer the phone and let the answereing machine and caller id get it for you

I called them back, It was Discover with an "offer for me". They asked for my name and I just said, "How about my number to be removed from your call list." He took it and entered it to be removed. We'll see, but they were friendly at least.

I believe they've called at least six times today. They keep hanging up on the machine...we're trying to work here :P Hope this clever service does the trick!!!!! So much for the do not call list, huh?

Only called once that I know about. I didn't recognize the number but answered anyway. Nobody spoke on the other end and soon the call ended.

it's Discover Card. They won't talk to me because I'm just the wife (I was told that the last time they had a call-a-thon in August) so I told them they had the wrong number. I'm so sick of them bugging us!! Perhaps that will get them to quit?

Calls from this number range from2-5 daily for the last month or so. I spoke to a lady yesterday at 9:48AM telling her we are not interested and no telemarketers call from then on. They called again at 10:36am today (12/8/06.

I've been getting several calls a day from this number since Thanksgiving. I don't pick up -- just let my answering machine play interference. They don't leave a message.

Lots of people are saying this is Discover, but I don't think it is. I don't even HAVE a Discover card, and never did! So I think it likely is a scam.

Discover card AGAIN, call 1-800-347-2683 and ask THEM to remove you from their list

Called on a Saturday morning at 9:12 am. I didn't answer.

You guys--I called Discover Card because I was not supposed to receive any calls because I am on the do not call list. Called Discover Card and they stated this is not Discover Card but a scam. Please do not answer this call for your own good!

They have called three times a day everyday for two weeks. I haven't answered. I just logged onto to DiscoverCard.com and changed my number to 866-402-1045.

File complaints at donotcall.gov as well as your local attorney general's office. I file a complaint for every call I receive and if enough people do that there might be some results.

They called at 8:45 p.m.. I like to call their C.E.O. at that time and interrupt their martini happy hour!!

This is the nth number of time i 'm receiving the call without any message.

I'm getting these harrassing calls from Discover, too. 11 calls in the past two days, even *after* I said I wasn't interested (the first time!).

They have called approximitely 20 times. I called the number back and a customer service person from Discover said it was an automated call about a promotion. I told them to take me off the list and she said it may take 4 - weeks. It has been 1 week and they are still calling! How screwed up is that???

Discover has been trying CRAZY using different numbers , and some of their representatives are just rude.

This number calls approx 5 times per day going back to the end of my cell phone memory. Never leaves a message. I'm with Leann - tempted to cancel the card I do have. Harrassment.

It's Discover trying to get you to transfer a balance

Discover Card calls from differnet numbers including this one at least once a day to my cell phone, trying to ask me to open a new miles card. Never leave your cell phone number to discover!

They just called my house but they hung up after like 4 rings.

Discover, we recieve this call a lot. This time they didn't even have the right name!

I usually never EVER answer the phone, but I was sitting here and figured, hey, why not... what a let down when I actually picked up, said hello twice and they hung up on me!! Not even one word from their end...

Discover Card REALLY TRYING to send us another Discover Card that gives bonus frequent flyer miles...we're not frequent flyers. They call daily, even after we've refused the card more than once. We're seriously considering cancelling our other Discover Card just because of this harrassment.
