They call me constantly over and over and over and appear to have no record of the previous reps who state i should not receive a call again. I receive a bill in the mail and within 2 days they are already calling me to get a payment!! The date the payment is due is always 30 days in the future. It's soooo fucked up. There's no reason why they should be calling me.

2008-12-22 03:27:31 UTCjen

They called today, asking for someone who hasn't lived here in almost three years!

2008-11-21 16:13:14 UTCTy

Told these people they have the wrong #-- they're so stupid they can't get it through their heads. I guess they want to waste their time and money calling someone that doesn't owe them money. They should look up the name of the person who owes them and call it! Total idiots! Who would buy a Dell????? I have a Mac!

2008-09-25 19:38:30 UTCJackie

they keep on calling and harrasing every day for somethign that i already paid for months ago. I called Dell directly and they deny that its their number or calls adn to "JUST" ignore it. I have read that people that purchased or tried to purchase on DELL's online get this harrasment. You can barely understand those damn people talking as they are Indian and attempt to be understood. This has pissed me off. Why DELL doesnt stop this and take action as they are representing them!!

2008-09-17 16:53:32 UTCKatie

I paid off the entire balance last week and I am still getting calls. It was less than $100 and I had accidentally misplaced the statement and forgot to look up a payment address. This is ridiculous because it was 1 week late and now paid and they have called 4 times today. When I answer, no one ever answers me back. I hate DELL and I wish I could shove my shitty laptop where the sun doesn't shine. This is just more proof of the incompetent people DELL (or Citibank or whoever) employ.

2008-07-09 14:27:36 UTCLC

They have called 3 times today starting at 8:00am, calling every 30 minutes of so. There is never anyone on the other end.

2008-07-01 14:22:15 UTCstop calling

call came in before 9am and the answering machine picked up. there was an auto recording on a loop saying 'please hold. your call is important to us. please hold. your call is important to us.' but the message never indicated who was calling.

2008-05-20 20:27:50 UTCShannon

It's nuts. They call about 10 times at least per day, different numbers (Some say Dell some have the 866-395-5011 number). When I answer, there's no one there. They call us early in the morning just to hang up on me? Wtf? It doesn't seem to matter if you've made a payment online they won't stop calling and then giving me dead air. I'm sick of it.

2008-04-24 15:28:59 UTCIhateDELL

I was late with a payment. I made a payment and was all set online. I have had 8 missed calls from this number, finally answered and they said its a reminder your payment is due. Told them I paid it, they said WELL WE CAN'T HANG UP UNTIL WE GET YOUR PAYMENT ($24). I refused and hung up.

2008-04-03 18:32:05 UTCLiz

I will NEVER buy a Dell again. I have my payments already set in. I do them online. I even went to check to see if I was mistaken. IT CLEARLY shows I have made my payment. YET THEY CONTINUE TO CALL FOR PAYMENT!

2008-03-14 14:16:08 UTCChris

Account has been paid, however they keep calling. Finally, told them this call was being recorded and was being reported to the ftc. They told me they had to hang up on me, and did just that.

2008-03-07 02:51:59 UTCPLM

These people are impossible. They call 3, 4, even 5 times a day and
when you pick up there's no one there. If you do speak with someone
(who is usually really dumb, rude, and barely understandable) they refuse
to speak with the spouse of the person in whose name the account is,
even though legally they have to.

I'm not answering when they call anymore since no one is on the line anyway,
especially since the payment is already set up.

Dell Financial has been calling me for the past month or so looking for someone that had my phone number years ago (I have had it for almost 10 years). I tell them no one here by this name, they say they are deleting it from their database. DON'T believe them as it NEVER happens. Yesterday (2/16/08) I had 5 phone calls and 1 already this morning. They have never called on a Saunday before. I guess I will just hang up on them from now on as I am getting too upset and this is not good for my health. I hope in time, they will just quit. Wishful thinking, I know.

2008-01-22 21:17:48 UTCDave

The absolute worst company to deal with. Third-rate payday loan companies harass their customers less. I've finally had it and took out a loan against my 401(k) purely to get these people off my back. I will never deal with Dell again and I will report the passed abuses (documented 2 incidences spanning 6 weeks each) to my state's Attorney General. I suggest you do the same.

2007-09-18 02:41:28 UTCJudi

Dell is at it again! They called in June claiming my account was past due {it wasn't} now they're calling again. They've called three times today and each time no one is there when I answer. Very Frustrating! Luckily, I have call blocking from Qwest!

2007-09-05 20:50:37 UTCfailure

Yup its Dell. Even complaints to the BBB havn't gotten them to stop. 3 times outside of Federally approved calling hours now.

2007-09-04 18:18:14 UTCtrudy smith

these people calls me several times a day even after i ask them not to call me.to put it in writting. they call me on sundays, holidays, sat. before 8am after 9pm. just annoying

2007-07-25 21:27:18 UTCJanice

So much for being the land of the free. We can't even keep jobs in American. I am sick of American companies sending work to India. And I don't want to hear that no americans what to do it. It's just cheaper to send it over there. Greedy bastards.

2007-07-25 16:58:44 UTCsick of it

Yes, my Dell account is past due, barely, and these people call constantly....at one point they called 11 times in 10 minutes (no message left)...the phone rings constantly....and I'm less than a month behind on my payment- COME ON! DONT BUY A DELL and finance it through them unless you want to put up with harrassing phone calls if you miss one lousy payment by a couple of days....

2007-07-17 23:30:27 UTCJames

Just to set something straight for those who did not realize. Dell the Computer company does not call anyone nor handle credit accounts in any way themselves. Just like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Sears, most Gas/Fuel cards and just about every other retailer who offers credit the account is actually provided through and handled by an outside credit provider company. In the case of Dell what they may refer to as "Dell Financial Services" is in reality CITI-BANK and the same person who calls and tells you they're with DFS may hang up and call someone else and identify themselves as being with Sears Credit, Best Buy Credit, Exxon credit, etc.
The screen tells them who to say they are with and provides a pre-made script to read from. Anyways, my point is that I have never had anything but EXCELLNT service from Dell Computers, great systems and top-notch customer service. CITI-BANK who is also usually a pretty good company (though I prefer AMX for best customer care) outsources their calling to overseas and these people are sometimes idiots. The easiest way to avoid them is of course not to be late on your payments (duh). If you have never had an account with them be sure to call them back or get someone, ask for a supervisor, and make it clear they have the wrong number and you don't know who they're asking for and get an assurance that they will remove your number. If the calls continue more than another week (takes sometime to work its way through their system) then call CITI-BANK directly and complain during normal business hours when your more likely to get an American.

2007-06-14 04:11:25 UTCTony

Its DFS. yep they are an outsourced collection firm from India. My payment was 11 days late. I had already made payment online and they called stating that it was not acceptable to make it online as the payment was late. I told them sorry here is the confirmation number and that is all I had to worry about. They threanted that if I did not make the July payment (not due for anohter 19 days) over the phone today for a small processing fee I will be turned over to collections in the next week. EXCUSE ME!

2007-06-09 19:42:12 UTCJudi

Dell called demanding my checking account information to process an overdue payment before being charged a late fee. The payment wasn't overdue. I could hardly understand the woman who called her Indian accent was so strong!!

Hello,

I am the one who calls you. I find it fun and meditating. We are laughing. Thanks you.
Greetings

These motherfuckers call me everyday between 2-2:30pm. This shit needs to stop.

2007-02-12 14:23:04 UTCJack

I have never done business with Dell, and based on these experiences, I hope I never do. They have been calling my cell for over a year. They are calling about someone else's account. He is apparently using my cell number to get hardware deliveries.

I had to raise hell with a supervisor to get on their "do not contact" list, but it only lasted a few months.

Now, they have given my cell number to third-party delivery agents.

In this last round, I've gotten enough data to figure out who the guy is. I reported it to Dell's fraud group, but I'm still getting calls to my cell phone.

I may end up going after Dell and this clown for damages.

2007-02-03 15:31:41 UTClia

what the f*** they are calling again! this is getting on my nerves, this is sooooooo harrassment. I don't even know what they want. They don't leave messages.

2007-01-15 15:01:12 UTCJer

Begin calling every day around 8:30 am and will call every 1/2 to 2 hours until just before 10 PM.
This happens if account is past due, even less then 30 days.

2006-12-18 13:43:15 UTCmplsresident

If you continue to receive phone calls from Dell, file a report with your state Attorney General & FTC. The attorney general won't act upon individual cases, but will act if contacted by a number of people with the same complaint.

2006-12-13 23:13:14 UTCJody

They call me constantly, usually 12 times/day. They start calling me around 6:30 AM every single day, even on weekends. When I do answer, there is a computerized voice telling me I am being put on hold and to please wait. WTF? Don't harass me by calling 12 times a day and then put me on hold when I answer.

2006-10-08 14:08:27 UTCLia

they keep calling, i've tried being polite, i've tried being rude, i've tried hanging up, they call like every hour sometimes 2 times an hour

2006-09-14 20:06:32 UTCmplsresident

Disputed account, but they will call up to 12 times per day, often several times in one hour.

2006-09-09 15:07:14 UTCJosh

They keep asking for Bria (who hasn't lived at this number for 2 1/2 years). They will NOT stop calling; even when asked. I received 3 calls in 3 hours.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
