How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

The calls come non - stop all day long and I work 3rd shift.I'm beginning to wonder if having a Discover card is really worth the hassle that comes with it, I really don't think so. I will call Discover ASAP and file a formal complaint and I will file with FCC...By the way if I wanted something I will ask for it.
No message on Answering Machine - call two or three times a day.
This call is from Discover offering credit protection. I asked they put me on their "no call" list since we are on the national no call list as well. They said they would do this.
This one has called us 9 times - no message.
annoying! asked for my husband by name - said it was "Frank" from Discover Card. They said they would need to speak to him personally. When asked if there was a problem with account they said I could call 1-800-Discover Card. ANNOYING!
This is insane. They call every hour. I don't pick up, and they don't leave a message. If it is Discover calling about credit insurance, I have told them over and over again that I am not interested. If they did some research before mercifully harassing people from morning till night, they'd see that I never carry a balance on their card or any other. Why would I need this, and why would I need it so badly they have to call every freakin' hour, 7 days a week?

I spoke to them yesterday, it was discover card selling insurance. I told them not interested they continue to call.
We too receive this type of call several times a week. At one call I advised them not to call our number ever again. Guess what...they keep calling. Who do you file a complaint with to have them stop? Just seen one page that tells you to contact FCC on their web site.

Very Annoying
Even though I'm registered on the " DO NOT CALL " registry these folks have been calling me at least twice a day. I called the number back and received a recording stating "we recently tried to contact you regarding a Discovercard product or service and advising me to press " 1 " to speak to one of their " account managers." Since I do have a Discovercard and do business with them, so to speak, I believe that under the law, they do have the right to call. I'm just letting my answering machine answer the calls till they get the message.

This number comes up on my caller i.d. at least 4 times per day. I usually just hit the "talk" button and then immediately hit the "end" button on the phone. Even when I let my answering machine pick up, they never leave a msg. If the caller would identify the company and leave a msg., I might consider answering the phone - but they never do, so it's a moot point.
We have blocked this number, but keeps calling about every half hour. Rings just once, enough for it to show on the Caller ID, then the block kicks in. But it's still very annoying.
Like everybody else, caller never stops. Yesterday they called 4 times within an hour. EVERYDAY at least 3 times. Got so fed up yesterday and researched the number, and found it was comming from Discover's telemarketers selling insurance.
I filed a formal complaint with FCC. Anyone can go to the FCC website and file the same complaint online. Hopefully now the calls will stop!
Calls at least once an hour from early in the morning to late at night.
They called several days a in row- never left a message.
I answered- Asked for me, and it's not Discover Card but on BEHALF
of Discover card trying to sell us credit reports.
Called the number back it said "Welcome to Discover Card" I do not have a discover card or an account with them.

Someone calls from this number at least twice every night. I do not answer. They never leave a message.
Received calls from this number repeatedly for the past week. Caller ID just said "TOLLFREE NUMBER". They ask for my husband by name. I say "he's not in, can I help you" and they hang up.
Received call from this number, ID just said "TOLLFREE NUMBER". A man asked for me by name. When I got to phone, the caller hung up. About twenty minutes later a man pulled up in my driveway and asked for me by name. Then he handed me a summond ordering me to appear in court to respond to a law suite filed by a collection agency. I'm not positive these were related incindents, but I suspect this call was someone just wanting to verify I was home before someone was dispatched to deliver the summonds.
Someone calls and called me by name and then said nothing. this is not the first time I have received a call for this number, but it is the first time anyone has said anything. Before the calling party just breathes or says noting and then hangs up.
