Caller claimed to be from Discover Card telling me about payment protection letter I was going to get in mail. Then proceeded to call me back after I hung up (although for once I wasn't actually trying to hang up - I meant to hit the speakerphone button...). The better no call again, though. They didn't ask for any personal information, at least, just read through a script like a drone.
someone from this number with a very thick accent keeps calling about a website my husband set up for a non-profit about 8 years ago. the site was paid for by the non-profit, not us, but they keep calling us even though we have explained that we were not the people paying. we haven't even had anything to do with the site or group in about 6 years.
asked for my husband. would not leave a msg. called back & found it is Discover trying to sell products.

They call me 5 times a day.
Thank god I found this site..I don't have a Discover card and at first they were asking ME for my name and I wouldn't give it to them. Now they have been calling asking for fictitious people and I have repeatedly told them to stop calling and this last time they told me to report them and so I did!
It was Discover card trying to sell payment insurance
I have posted 2 times......they have not called me today and would have by now. Now when I call this number they don't answer.....try what I suggested and they will stop calling you too. Apparently they don't like to be called. Ha! Ha! Call them and say I know this is a scam, I know you are calling from the Philipines, I am recording this call and I will sue you if you call me again.
I also told them when I called them back that I was recording the conversation.
I have been receiving calls from this number for months. I blocked the 866-259-6383 # and they just call from another 866 #. I called them back and asked why they hang up when I answer. They didn't know. My husband said that they are just trying to meet quota calls so that they will get paid. I talked to a lady last night and asked her what country she was calling from, as all the people that call have thick accents. She told me she was in the Philipines. She asked for my phone number, as did the others I talked to. This last time I didn't give it to her because if you do they just call more..............Block the numbers that they call from and it will stop. I had 30 phone number from them blocked so I deleted them and they started calling again. So now I have to start all over again. Now I am going to call them all day long and just hang up or cuss them out, tell them to tell their boss to &*#$^^&*#)$^ himself. If you do this make sure you use *67 before calling. That way it shows "Unavailble" if they have caller ID. If we all did this several times a day....tell them we know its a scam....and that we are from the United States...and we are United in this cause.....to stop being harrassed.....Please join with me in stopping this attack on our country.....and our citizens.......Please help me to stop this. God Bless America!!!!!!!!!
I answered the call and it was from Discover Card. The caller wanted to inform me about new protection service, but asked if he could record our converstation. I told him I had no time for this BS and if Discover wanted to offer me something they can e-mail me or send me a letter.
will let federal trade know
I finally answered and it was DiscoverCard for my husband. I told them he was always at work during the day. They keep calling and calling. I told my husband to get a hold of them and tell them to quit calling here.
It's Discover Card trying to sell additional "services" like Fraud Protection, etc. They called for my husband (every day for the past week --ANNOYING!) and when I ask what it is in reference to or if I can take the call, they say they have to speak to him directly and ask when is a good time to call back (how about never?). I called the number back and pressed "1" and spoke to a rep. I gave her my phone number and told her to remove it from their call list. She said it would be but would take about 3 days. We'll see if it works.
Continual calls. No message. Suspect it is the bloodbank calling
discover card scam--ask you for your credit card numbers and social
I get a call almost everyday from this number. Goes to "Richard Bronson" greeting.
I have received a ton of calls from this number. I isually do not answer but I am sick of them calling so I informed them the person they were looking for passed away and I am still in mourning and not to call again! We will see if it works! ;)
I commented once before. Since then, we have informed this number TWICE to stop calling us. Wish we knew how to report them... :(
This number has called our house 9 times since 8:30 a.m. - will report to do not call list...
This number is calling my house every day. Once my son answered, but no one was there. Feeling harrassed, here--especially because my phone number is registered on the national do not call list!

It's called phone spoofing. This is mostly done by collection agencies.
They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create
an account. Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay something in
full or go to court. Some of us have been dealing with these bottom
feeders for months and years. We have programs that track and trace these
numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company.
None have matched the actual caller. They also spoof themselves as your
neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and
have them trace. If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet
places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the
data they need. Type:"phone spoofing" in your browser or here's a site for
a start: en.wikipedia.org . Everyone
should be aware of these activities for their own protection. Also see:
"predictive dialers" and "VOIP".
Has called a couple of times, mostly mid-afternoon when I'm at work. Never leaves a message. This is a new repetitive caller number to my residence. Area code look-up indicates "US/Canada Toll Free" - could be from anywhere.
Picked up and said "Hello", no one answered.
