How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

1-866-259-3883
they never leave a message. I wish they would stop. My next step a neasty letter...and threaten to cancel services.
Want it to stop? Go to your Verizon account online, go to "My Services" and then to "Spam Controls" then simply add this number and it will be blocked from calling your cell phone every again.
THIS WILL ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS
The do not call list does not apply to companies you are currently with, you have to ask that company personally to take you off there list. Also the offer is for 100 bonus mins and to renew the contract if you dont want it say NO. Also if they call you and you hear no one on the other line its because they are on a automated dialer which can lose the call if the dialer is going to fast. Also the plan they are trying to upgrade you on is for the same exact plan you have, price wise the only difference is it is called Nationwide it is called Nationwide because Verizon has set up the way the mobile web works on the cell phone differently from the old America's choice plan, you pay per meg instead of air time and monthly charge so its actually a better deal if you do use the mobile web if not you are not charged if you dont use it. Humm I think I covered all the stupid questions that you all where wondering....Also by the way if you think Verizon wireless or anyone else (3rd party) cares if you leave as a customer they don’t Verizon Wireless is a multi-million dollar company. The point really is good company bad company Cell phone companies are all trying to steal your money why not just get rid of your cell phone and live your life STOP TEXTING, CALLING, DRIVING with the cell phone up your ass STOP caring so much and live your goddamn life....I know its hard to believe but cell phones are not for emergencies they cause emergencies and problems. In this day in age with all the financial bitching shouldn’t the first thing we let go is the useless government controlled devices that we so clearly have convinced ourselves we need.

s previously reported by others, the calls are from a third party agent for Verizon Wireless. In my case they have been calling 3 times a week since I started keeping track on Feb. 20, 2009.
I contacted Verizon Wireless (who I do have an account with) at 800-922-0204 and told them the issue. They placed me on there do not call list and said it would take 10 min. to be active.
since that call I received two more calls from their agent (the ones who keep calling from the 866 number) and I called them back.
Them: May I have your phone number
Me: Why do you keep calling me three times a week.
Them: Is this Mr. xxxxx
Me: See, you didn't need my phone number
Well it went down from there. I told them I had already contacted Verizon Wireless to complain and be placed on the companies do not call list. The 866 person claimed it would take 30 days I said Bull I was told it would take 10 min.
I told them to google their own number to see the number of complaints they are generating.
I then informed them that if I am contacted again, I would file complaints with the FTC, BBB, State Attorney General, and contact Verizon Wireless saying that they will be losing a customer at the end of my contract specifically because of this agent.
We will see what happens.
They are calling my land line.....which is embarq!
I receive a call from this number about every 3 days....for the past few months
I am registered on the DO NOT CALL list and this indiviual calling would not reply to me saying "hello".
Verizon wireless trying to get you to upgrade to new nationwide plan. An extra 90 bucks a month..I don't think so.
my cell number was registered with donot call and the number is a private numer i do not why 866 259 3883 continued to call
I just called Verizon (1-800-922-0204) and asked to be put on their do not call list. The gentleman was very polite and asked if I would like to opt out of the regular mail/emails/text as well. They really aren't a bother to me with those so I said no but the calls are driving me nuts. He apologized more than once and took care of it for me. We will see if it actually works! According to the website they do have 30 days in which to remove it so I will just have to suck it up for that time period and wait it out. It's worth a try!! :-)
Did not leave msg just hung up.
No Msg I am on the do not call list and they call constantly so I would like to know who they are!
This number keeps calling they do not leave a msg. The caller ID is unavailable
They said my wireless package was up for renewal and wanted to complete it over the phone. That's all.
They NEVER identify themselves and even though i've got a POA (the account holder is serving in Iraq) they keep calling and calling...
Here's my ploy. Drives them crazy. When they ask if they may speak to my husband I just say "No, you may not". Not he's not home, maybe later, just a simple, unwaivering NO. If you like to hear sales people stumble it works like a charm.
Even if they ask for me, I tell them they do not have my permission to speak to me. Then I ask them for their social security number to verify their identity.
If you're going to have to take these crap calls, might as well have a good time with them.
I continue to get calls from this number 866-259-3883. They do not leave a message. I am on do not call list.
I just called them back and asked to be taken off their list and they were polite about it. I got several calls this week and when we answered they never picked up. Very annoying!
this stupid number keeps #$$^^&$$##&& calling me and i get dead air on the other end... other times i get a person from verizon calling me and they keep wanting to upgrade my account which i have told them SEVERAL times i'm not friggen interested....
My opinion: SCAM!Wanted me to get new cell phone at discount, extend my contract, change package because they were phasing out my current one. Very pushy. I'm on the DNC list.
We have an unlisted number and are on the do not call registry. Someone should put the owner of this company in jail.
on DNC
I've gotten these calls, however I never pick them up. I'm so tired of Verizon as a whole. My contract is up in two months, thank god. I can get a better deal elsewhere. It's a sneaky company. These people call my office and say, "I'm calling regarding your Verizon DSL account". I respond with a "we don't have a Verizon DSL account", they respond with "Can I speak with someone that..." CLICK!! I'm tired of this, they call 3-4 times a week! I've told them not to call back, yet they always do.
It is 12 noon and I have already had 4 calls from this number. On the 5th call they called with a different number, 802-433-2101 listed as private call. They left a message saying the call was from Verizon Wireless to upgrade my service, which I unfortunately just did. If I had known the calls were from them I would have canceled the service and gone to another carrier.
said "hello" about 8 times with no response, then I hung up. I am on do not call list...for what it's worth!
The number 866-259-3883 calls my house several times a day, every day seven days a week. The calls start early morning and through out the day until around 9:00 at night. I am registered on the DNC list, and I request that this annoyance stop immediately.
I work for infocision and all of you ridiculous people that think hanging up on us before we say anything is going to stop us from calling back, keep hanging up, we like it. We don't care if you disconnect. It's not our fault that you're all too immature and stupid to take the twenty seconds to ask where we're calling from and ask not to call again. It's amazing how adults act like they're 13 again when they talk to somebody they don't know.
These dirtbags have called me every day, at least once a day for the last month. Lunch time, dinner time, any time between 8 and 8. NEVER anyone on the other line. I have been a verizon customer for 6 years and I am highly considering canceling. I hope the telemarketers calling burn in ****. Any whats with the guy who works for the company leaving the snotty message about their knowledge of the DNC. Parasites....
Stated that we needed to renew our cellular plan because it was going to expire. They called several times in the last week but left no message.
Received 9 calls from this number during the past few weeks. Did not answer any of them, and they never leave a message.
they've been calling daily this past week - won't leave message
So annoying! Here's a link to Verizon's Do Not Call Policy.. I requested to be added - we'll see!
www22.verizon.com
Very rude, stated he was calling on behalf of VZW in an attempt to renew my FSP before it expired. Only thing is I did that 4 months ago. @$$h0l3s
I got many calls from Verizon always with a hangup. I called back to find out why they keep bugging me and was told they have a 'special' deal where I can combine both my landline and wireless bills onto one bill. I told them I already have a combined bill and asked them to take me off their call list or I will take up Comcast's offer to go with them along with my ISP and cable service. Didn't phase her at all. Promised I would be taken off the call list; but, that was a month ago and they just called again today. Goodbye Verizon; Hello Comcast!
About a dozen calls from 866 259 3883. When the telco (Verizon) voice mail got it, they left no message. When I answered there was no one there.
I finally called back and talked to a woman who told me about the Verizon Wireless thing and the DNC exemption (which I knew about). She was pretty nice; actually shared that (like many such companies) their "war dialers" don't have enough staff ready to handle the number of calls they make, which is what causes the "dead air" when you answer. Anyway I got her to take me off the list.
Sure enough, another call today. No message on the machine. Aargh. I'm no vigilante, but if one or more of these Infocision dirtbags were to get his nads cut off I'm sure there would be many cheers.
As for VZW -- I'm leaving them the second my penalty drops below $200 for my five family lines. That's January '08. I won't bore you with all the details but take my word for it, it's outrageous what they've done. FYI, it's $5 off the $175 penalty per line for each month completed. I had two lines go off contract and that's why they're trying to get me to re-up.
I've been a customer since 1991 (NYNEX Mobile) but I'll tell ya, the group of jerks running that company now is unbelievable. I know that all these outfits are awful but without real competition they won't ever change. I'm going to a prepay plan, just so I can leave whenever I want.
Tired of the calls from this number and leaves no message or if you answer, nobody responds. If Verizon doesn't stop this I will cancel contract on all 4 phones
On DNC list
Per usual, "Unavailable," I refuse to pick up, and of course they left no voicemail. From what I gather, from Verizon, in one form or another. Beyond irritating.
I work for this company ...
Yes Infocision is a legtimate vendor of Verizon Wireless, and no you do not know more about the legality of the DNC than they do...trust me, there is an entire legal department devoted specifically to that..
These people have called every day for the past week. Finally today I asked why they needed to speak to my husband. They replied that it was regarding his wireless account. I asked why they don't call that number rather than the house and the guy said that the house number was the number my husband left with them. I told him that he wouldn't leave the home number since the cell is with him and the guy started stumbling over his words. They don't leave messages so hopefully THIS will put an end to the calls.
We are also on the DNC but these people still call. When we don't answer they don't leave a message on the answering machine
I missed the call from this number, so I dialed them back. The woman on the other end offered an upgrade phone, provided I stay on for another 2 years, under the university discount plan I currently have. Then, I called Verizon Wireless (611) to make sure the number was legitimate. The customer service rep checked it up and said it was the Verizon Wireless marketing department, which offers deals from time-to-time to longtime customers or people with special plans, so the number is indeed Verizon.
also... if it truly is Verzon wireless; why not leave a message? and why hang up when i answer. Clearly a ploy to get you to call back and put the ball in their court to be able to ask fo rinformation you would normally handover to your cell phone dealer. PHISHING mucH????!?!?!?
called me this morning and i answered ( they called me several times prior but i was n't in a situation to pick up). I said hello,, then got hung up on. i called it back and some woman answered "Verizon wirless, blah blah blah etc etc.... and i hung up on her. Clearly a bs call center. if i want to deal with verizon for any reason i'll call you do not call me. and i def will not talk to some person from india whose job was stolen from an american.
Called my second line, not even my primary. The person who uses this phone doesn't even own the account. Woke him up on Saturday morning and wouldn't answer even after saying hello 3X. Then they hung up after he cursed and informed them they woke him up.
I am in the Do not call list. Left no message.
Also got a call from this number, didn't answer the phone. Then I went to the Verizon Wireless website but while they talk about their opt-out privacy policy, they don't make it easy to figure out HOW to get off their darned list. I've sent a letter to the Verizon Wireless customer service center requesting that ALL my phones get opted out. We'll see if it works.
they freaking called at 6:11am PST!! i am on DNC, but also have verizon.
Long, but WORTH IT!
Back again in my continuing battle against Verizon Wireless and its heinous agents.
Turns out that this call actually came from a company called Infocision of Austintown, Ohio. /infocision.com. The bad news: the company brags about having "3,000 Communicators and 28 blended call centers." Yikes!
Here's a partial list of their executive team. Do you think any of these folks might have listed home phone numbers??

Use as needed....
Verizon Wireless seems to have an unlimited supply of numbers they use to annoy its customers! *Supposedly* you can ask to be put on a "Do Not Contact" list, but less than 24 hours after I registered my numbers they called again from two different numbers.
Maybe we all need to abandon Verizon Wireless when our contracts end?
this is the third time they have called and not left any kind of message. If i received these calls outside of my working hours I would have answered but they keep calling in the middle of the day.
Received many calls from this number, but no one ever left a message and no one would ever speak when the call is actually picked up.
Verizon telemarketing. Note: they do not use the DNC list and if you are already a customer of Verizon the law says they do not have to follow the DNC anyway.
If this is Verizon they should be Identifying themselves as such, after all they brag and brag about the network, but they can't manage to get there name on a caller ID...go figure...or leave a message ? Totally unprofessional and unjustified if you ask me.
I NEVER answer "out of area" calls.
Same here as everybody is saying. I recieved a call from this number on a Saturday morning on my verizon cellphone. The woman was way to "smooth talking" for me to believe she was legit. She also gave this quick little intro saying that she wanted to renew my contract and then started asking me for information! My cell contract is valid for about one more year. I informed this woman that I could not talk, and then she asked if she could call back, which not wanting to be rude (and I didn't really know who she was), I said yes, but will tell her not to call again if this "company" does call back since I see that they are not totally legit.
I missed a call from this number and called it to find out who I had missed the call from. The person on the other end kept asking for information and gave up when I insisted that I was only trying to find out who I had missed a call from. I do not know who the call was from yet.
According to Verizon, "we're just trying to get you a better deal." BS! My contract doesn't expire for another 6 - 9 months and they are bugging me to re-up?! On top of that, I'm certainly not using my 1,000 minutes now and they wanted me to upgrade to their new 1,400 minute plan. I'm ditching Verizon when my contract expires and picking up an iPhone with Cingular.
they called my cell phone
- I don't even have Verizon, I have cingular.
If it's Verizon Wireless, I'll answer next time and gladly agree to renew. Unfortunately (for them), my phone is on a Boost Mobile prepaid account.
Thank goodness for caller ID. I just don't bother picking up the phone when I see those numbers. Verizon's call block doesn't work.
We have verizon for our cell phones and jusr renewed our contract. I would not give anyone information about my cell phone.
if they were really from Verizon they would have all your information
Even though you have a business relationship, tell them if they continue to call you will cancel your account.
I didn't answer this call, they stayed on long enough to here my voice mail intro (which does not give any names) then they hung up, not leaving a message, typical, trying to "phish" for information.
I keep getting calls from this number also. I don't answer anymore. If it is Verizon, why don't they show it on caller ID? If they did, I might be inclined to answer.
I just called verizon wireless directly to ask about calls from this number. it seems tht it is a marketing frim that does work with verizon and is legit. i did make a complaint about their poor manners and the negative reflection on the company
I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer the call nobody responds. Why do they even bother calling?
First call on a Saturday. Must be desperate. Blocked them.
Left no message...listed as "TOLL FREE CALL"
Get calls from this number several times per week. Never leaves a message. I won't answer any "Out of Area" 800 numbers anymore.
Yes, I just got one of these calls. Same story as everyone here. Do Not Call list makes no difference with these calls if you have a business relationship with Verizon because a loophole in the law allows, among other things, businesses with whom you do business and who have your phone number to telemarket to you. I would love it if the law was amended to give me the option of selecting which, if any, of the businesses I have a relationship with I want to give permission to call me.
My new strategy for when I'm bored and have nothing better to do, is to call the number twice for every call they have bothered me with and then hang up once I get a response on the other end. Call me three times and you will get six calls and hang-ups back from me. Yes, my phone number is blocked so they shouldn't know who I am or what number I am calling from. Two can play at the anonymous game.
Called several times this week. No message no one talks
I'm on reg. do not call.
Called and left no message everytime
Left No Message
Won't leave a message and when I answer the won't respond even though I hear background noise
FYI, verizon offers a "call intercept" option that stops all calls like this. I had it once and it worked great. I can't use it now because I have a seperate # with "distinctive ring." Unfortunately, those two options don't work together.
I called this # back. Verizon Wireless offering us a new plan. After pulling up our record they said they noticed that we just renewed.
Claimed to be Verizon Wireless, but must be a reseller - they did not call the contact number that I have on file with them - were very pushy about renewing cellular plan. Fraudulent call ??
ON DNC list will be reporting them today. Tired of these BS artists still calling..they didn't leave a message on the answering machine
"out of area" call from 866-259-3883. I am registered to not receive telemarketing calls.
On DNC list
