How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

We've been getting calls on cell and home phones with a recording saying our auto warranty is up for renewal. Our newest car is 10 years old, and hasn't been under warranty for 7 years! I happened to catch one and pressed the button to talk with a person. Carrie said she was with "Warranty Division Center" but when I asked for a phone number, she hung up on me. I'd love to find some contact info so I can report them to the BBB!
The familiar auto warranty scam... I've given up on reporting these to the FTC and FCC until we get a new administration that might actually get off their butt and enforce the law.
"Caller ID Spoofing". Internet telephoney companies use software to manipulate any phone number and name they want. There is NOTHING you can do about it unless the police or FBI wire tap your phone and trace it... but it will only trace to a computer that can be located anywhere in the world. This problem has been noted on tv news programs many times. Congress refuses to enact laws to stop this new internet telephone scam. I've written my senators and legislators and they blow it off.
Called here on 7/31 and left a message for the "owner" (didn't specify of what) to call "Marlin Walton" with "Cain & Wein..???" (mumbled) to "call immediately" 818-251-1746. Wasn't going to call, but was curious, and found this site. If it's a warranty scam, makes sense they are asking for the "owner."
Received a call...didn't answer - no message left on answering machine
Called twice in one afternoon, less than five minutes between calls. The calls went straight to voicemail but no message was left. After the second call I tried to call the numer back an got an automated recording say the number was a non-working number.
they called today and my girl did not answer the phone, i called back and got a disconnected sound; so i googled it and found this. scams like this should be illegal and proper action needs to be taken by the government to stop this nonsense.
Seems to be a fraud. They would not disclose any information as to who their company actually is. They offered extended coverage but did not know what car they were offering it for. What a SCAM.
When I asked for company headquarters numbers they hung up on me. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.
Our caller ID showed said Pensacola Florida and the number. When I called that number back, it said that the number "has been disconnected or is no longer in service". There was no voice message on our answer machine though. When I looked the number up on Yahoo, it came up with a Jack Hierholzer. Maybe who ever is doing this "cloned" an innocent person's phone number.
Scammers - beware - I wish some justice department will go after them.
These illegal calls are most likely coming from Florida based IXE Accelerated Financial Services. Yes, the number that shows up on your Caller ID is illegally spoofed (just one of many violations of state and federal laws these criminals break with each call), and is useless for reporting them to the authorities (which is why they do this).
To get the information about IXE that you can (and should) use to report them to the authorities, go to:
heatherwithaccountservices.com
That web site (both its blog and the forum, especially the forum) has a lot of useful information on IXE and links to the agencies to report them to. Only if enough people file complaints will the authorities take action to put these scumbags out of business (and hopefully behind bars).
Knew my name and address. Would only give company name as Warranty Division. Would not give a call-back number because they have only outbound lines available. Said she was in Georgia but that their corporate offices were in Florida. When I asked to talk to a manager, she put me on hold for a minute, then said that the manager was in his morning meeting and that she could take a message and have him call me. (I said no way.) When I asked which car had the expiring warranty, she gave me some spiel about the VIN getting dumped out of the system once the warranty expired. She wanted me to tell her the VIN of my car. When I asked where they got my car info, she said from the expiring warranty database but she wouldn't say whose. I asked her if it was GM's, Ford's, or Chrysler's and she said GM's. By the way, I'm on the National Do-Not-Call list.
Victoria - you're obviously working for the SCAM warranty company.
My first call from this #. Caller did not leave message on my answering machine. This 'pperson' would have a difficult time gettng me to renew my auto warranty because I do NOT have a car! Since I don't answer my phone unless I know who is on the other end, this 'person' is going to waste a LOT of time on me if he/she keeps calling.
Called both my cell phone and my home phone. Both are on the do-not-call list.
An automated message that the warranty on my car was about to expire. Since my car is a 1997 Ford, I hung up.
Press 9 to remove your phone number.
Didn't leave message. This is the third call over the last three months.
I have gotten home from work and this number was listed on my caller id. I have elderly relatives in Florida and always think it's one of them, that something happened and when I call the number back, it says it is disconnected. I am on the DO NOT CALL registry and I certainly do not wished to be bothered by scammers. Something needs to be done with all these scammers, hang them up by their toenails or something.
continues to call about car warranty expiring...I don't even own a car.
I am on the "do not call list" so when I got this automated message to press "1" about my warranty, I wanted to know who had called me since I don't have caller ID. I got a guy named "Al", refused to give last name and only offered to transfer me to someone else who could give me a return phone # and address for this company to check out. In order for them to explain (legitimately?) who they were so I could verify them, "Al" insisted that was not possible until I gave HIM my auto vin# and insurance information. What was scary was that when I refused he then told me my proper name, address and phone number, but oculd not tell me what kind of car I drove. (Wait a minute, you call me to sell me an extended warranty, but you don't know what kind of car I drive? And you refuse to give address and phone # of your company?) His sales tactic was to continue talking over me where I received no legit answers to my questions. We went in circles. They called me but won't clarify who they are. I finally said you guys are scamming and hung up.
From what I've read here, and getting a call, I don't believe the 2 messages out of all the others that this isn't a scam. Anyone can come on here and say they have a real warrenty, etc. The odds are stacked against those 2. Its bad enough getting calls from unsolicited telemarketers, but to get these from a scam artist, forget it. We don't need nor want them. I'll report each and every call I get.
We have been getting this call as well and we have also been getting cards in the mail about our warranty. The cards say call 800-978-4145. I am guessing they are one in the same.
the warranty has covered me on my engine problem and its not expensive at all. they have really good payment plans. i have the number to the warranty specialist and customer service. believe it or not i dont care, cuz i gotta extended warranty and thats all that matters.
This junk has been calling every couple of days. I guess they decided to try the west coast now... It is another scam... Victoria is very gullible and stupid! There is NO such company!! Notice, she never posted a callback number for the phony company. One of the only ways to track this type of call is to use the CALL TRACE feature, but you have to subscribe to the feature in order to use it! Even if the CID is wrong, the SS7 data stream will show all the offices involved in the call...
I am actually a telemarketer and someone who receive alot of bullshit calls. and being both i understand the frustration. telemarketers are doing their job and we actually have feelings and understand when you are aggrivated by being contacted alot. but try to be polite and not rude unless they are rude with you because me personally and alot of my co workers put polite cooperating customers on the do not call list and i am always polite. if you call cursing and being disrespectful and saying racist comments of course you will be hung up and NOT put on the do not call list. and i know for a fact there are many companies doing this warranty thing. you may not be on all their do not call lists. just a little info on how telemarketers are. i love polite customers and always get compliments on how nice i am to them. just try to polite and ask nicely without yelling because we are human lol
I thought this company was a scam too but I actually gave them my VIN because I had received soemthing about my entended warranty thing on my car in the mail from HONDA the day after they called me so thought they knew something about it the next time the called. They transferred me to a warranty specialist and they are very affordable surprisingly. And they did go ahead and give me a contact number for customer service since I am a customer with them now. They said that the system calls you automatically when your warranty status shows as not valid in the system. So far my engine needed repair and they actually covered it! So i know its not a scam and really glad i did it because i wouldnt have a ride to work! lol They told me there company name was WARRANTY DIVISION CENTER OF AMERICA. hope this helps.
Received call from 506-224-87976, yes the last 6 is not a mistake..stated she (Jamie) was from Atlanta GA. They violated "Do Not Call List" notified local Police Department.
i am so sick of this, they can call you,but if you try to call it back, operator says dissconnected, they never leave a message.this is B.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
warranty division, calling to offer me a new warranty on a vehicle I never owned... telling them that, they then starting pressing for details about me, and my current car, so, they could, apparently offer me a warranty on my current car...
Told her it was none of her fing bizness and hung up on her...
don't waste your time on these folks, just hang up the phone...
got message about extending our car warranty. We lease--don't need the warranty. They need to be stopped. ID came up as Jack Hierholzer. When I tried to call back said it was a non working number.
Caller said that a warranty on my vehicle was about to expire. Asked me to get my insurance and vehicle registration cards. When I asked on which of my vehicles the warranty was about to expire, they hung up the telephone.
They call here all the time, I answer get a person on the line and tell them to remove my name and number from their call list and they hang up on me. They claim that there is no law to stop them from calling. And their phone number does not work when I try to call back. I always ask for the company name and phone number and they refuse to give it to me. Certainly a scam.
Called this morning but did not leave a message.
I got a call from "Warranty Division Center" regarding my vehicle warranty. They would not give me a phone # for their company until I supplied them with my VIN#, which I did not do.
The supervisor argued with me and would not put on his supervisor because he was "out of the office."
We don't have a new enough car to be under warranty. I hung up without talking to anyone.
Hung up when I asked for the name of their company.
The call starts out with the same computer message about the warranty on my car about to expire. Once again I press "2" to get a live operator and ask what company is calling. She tells me "Warrant Division Center". I have asked these people to take me off their list 2 times before. As I start to say exactly that, she hangs up on me.
This number called my cell phone. I don't give out my cell phone number to anyone so I don't know who it might be. All I know is that it is illegal for them to be calling a cell phone! I am not very happy that I am getting mysterious calls from numbers and people I do not know.
File your complaints with the FCC at fcc.gov
These criminal telemarketers illegally leave fake information on your Caller ID (hence why some of the companies who you think are the ones calling really are not). The only way to stop them from calling you again and again (using different spoofed Caller ID info each time) is to report them using their real identities. Information on how to do this can be found at the only web site whose focus is to do just that: heatherwithaccountservices.com.
Jack H....sorry for looking you up. I figured you were a victim and thought you should know about it. Ted from OH isn't me. I would never post your information online.
Two other quick comments.
1- Kudos on spelling my last name correctly. Very few people can do that. ;-)
2- Patch was the name we used to disassociate ourselves from scam calls. He was our beloved labrador who passed last fall. If someone called and asked to speak with Patch we knew they were not for real.
Cheers
Ted that is very aggresive for you to look me up at work and email me. I almost deleted your email thinking it was spam. Let me tell you about that number. When we moved into our new house we decided we would give Bellsouth one more chance (it had been a few years since we had a land line - we are all cellular). The day they hooked it up we started getting telemarketing calls. That was September of 2006. By spring of 2007 we were having trouble making ends meet and the first thing we cut was land line. So that number has not been "ours" for over a year at this point.
We picked that number because I like things I can remember. In this case, that number spells ou I-STANK-1. If you knew me that might make sense - and I'll leave it at that.
I'm very sorry all of you are getting hammered by someone cloaking themselves under my land line - but please save your hate mail for the real culprits. I do not now know how they use the number but evidently they are. Best wishes to all in putting a stop to phone scam artists.
Caller ID and search engine found the following
Jack Hierholzer
2727 Kelso Rd
Pensacola, FL. 32514
This is definitely a scam. I have been receiving such phone calls for months on both my land-line and cell phone. I get about 4 different, but similar, messages about my "expired or about to expire vehicle warranty" not to mention my Caller ID shows different numbers. After reading the other comments about the phone numbers being disconnected or out of service, it is apparent the scammers are using a Caller Id Spoofing service. Do a Google search and you'll be amazed .
This is a scam. They named their company the "warranty division center" so you presume it's for your own car, but if you talk to the live person they'll tell you that since your warranty has expired they're unable to look up the make/model of your car. They ask for a VIN number and insurance card, but need to hold while you retrieve it -- they're the "outbound call center only" so you can't call them back. I tried to act interested to get more information; she told me again that her company was called "The Warranty Division Center" but when I pressed for a phone number or website, she said "Yes, you can find us online" and hung up.
I didn't answer, they didn't leave a msg
5/16/2008 Callerid: 8504782651
They called my work number (thankfully went to voicemail) where their automated system left me part of their message about being "transferred to a warranty specialist". Have heard their crap before on a different number. Wouldn't it be nice if their number got onto some other telemarketer's list?
I answered and there was silence on the other end. I hung up.

CALLERID(num)=8504782651
Yea.. these people called me too.. but I didn't answer it. Than to my curiousity, I wanted to know who it was. So I went to Anywho.com and they couldn't help me.. so I had the stupid idea of Googling it. Go figure, I find 4 sites with people complaining about the number, was thinking it was my girl before hand.. but now I know it was just a lonely lil scam artist.
JUST GOT HOME TODAY, MY SON IS IN FLORIDA AT A AIR FORCE BASE JUST BY PENSACOLA,FL CALLED HIS CELL PHONE AS THAT IS THE ONLY PHONE NO I HAVE OF MY SONS AND IT WAS DEFINATLY NOT 850-478-2651 I WAS WONDERING IF HE WAS OK?
HE MUST BE AFTER READING THIS ON A REVERSE LOOK UP.
I DID NOT LIKE RECEIVING THIS PHONE CALL WITH NO MESSAGE AS YOU COULD ALMOST IMAGINE WHAT I WAS THINKING? PLEASE MAKE A LAW THAT WOULD PERMITT US TO SEE WHAT COMPANY IS CALLING BECAUSE THIS WAS NOT COOL!
The person didn't leave a message. I looked it up through white page's reverse lookup and the number was listed to Patch Hierholzer. What a name!
This is a scam person says my vehicle warranty has expired but they can reinstate if I give them the vehicle information...registration etc..junk I say. I redialed the number does not work. Also, I do not own any vehicle unless they are talking about my grandchild's tricyle. SCAM...SCAM...SCAM
Caller claimed to be from the IRS and needing my address to schedule an auditor to visit my home. Caller knew enough information about me to get an address, however I was on guard. Then offered me free porn by mail. I hung up and called the treasury department to investigate since impersonating the IRS is a crime. Lets hope they can get to the bottom of this. I also noticed that my CID showed no ONE in front of the area code - very unusual - probably they are spoofing the CID.
I didn't answer, they didn't leave a msg
Same message, something about car warranty but didn't listen to whole message. Will next time to get their contact info.
Displayed phone number was disconnected.
Scam.
Just shows unknown name and then 850-478-2651. They are becoming very annoying to say the least.
They call here all the time, when I actually get a person on the line, I ask for a company name and phone number and they hang up. The 850-478-2651 is disconnected. I have also told them to remove my number and they just hang up. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this.
"Warranty Services" telemarketer. Same operation that's called me four times in the last two weeks despite requests to be placed on the Do Not Call list. Please go to donotcall.gov and file a complaint. These idiots need to be shut down.
Caller ID reported this number.
Tracked number to pensacola FL. Attempted to call the number to tell the listed owners (on 411.com) that their number was being used by telemarketers selling extended car warranties. The number is reported as being disconnected. When informed that the number they called was on the DNC list, the caller hung up.
Tried to call the number back and got the recording saying that the number was diconnected or no longer in service. Sure is funny it was working at 10:26 A.M. the same day I tried to call.
All that showed on ID was Pensacola, Fl and the number. No one said anything when call was answered. Same thing has happened several times lately with different numbers appearing on ID. Aggravating to say the least!
Had another Florida call yesterday. (different #) Today's ID came up same as above Pensacola, FL. I don't answer and they hang up on my answer machine.
These seem to be a pretty big scam. 850-478-2651 is the last ID number they seem to be using (which by the way is a disconnected number). It is clearly a scam and they use a lot of different fake numbers. For more info see the discussion on this same sige for Warranty Activation Center, WAC, 442074000080, 305-654-1842, 5617938708, 954-535-9912, 011442074203165, 442074443853, etc.
These people are probably making millions out of old people thru these scams. They need to be stopped!!!
Got some long-winded recorded message, but I hung uo before hearing much of it.
The scam artists for exteneded car warranties are it again with a new number. When asked what company the caller was representing he told me "Samsung" and hung up.
