How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Unknown caller, didn't leave message...for the record...
Mm
I press "1" and then woman comes on the line and informs me that they can reduce the interest rates on my cc's for me. When I inform her that I can call the cc companies myself to do the very same thing and ask to be removed from their call list, she hangs up on me. When I called back to verify my name had been removed from their call list, I received a recorded message telling me that the number has been disconnected.
This has to be a scam to trick people into divulging personal information. I have a friend in Pensacola so I answered. The recorded message said something like: "Don't be alarmed. We are calling about your account. If you would like to reduce your interest rate, press 1." I pressed 1 and asked who they were and why they were calling. "Did you press 1 to find out how to lower your interest rate?" "I pressed 1 to find out who you are." The guy hung up. When I tried a callback on the number I got the message: "We're sorry. You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service."
Out of Area - No message left
No one there.
They have called me several times - I know it is a scam because I almost fell for it before. If you tell them you want their offer, they will ask you all of your personal information. They do not know anything about you. They are out to get your credit card numbers and will even ask for your SS#. I pressed one to talk right to one of their so called reps and told him to take me off their calling list. He actually swore at me and hung up. Is there no way to report this? When you call the number, it says it is not working or disconnected. I can't believe what people get away with.
Scam. Recording about giving out your credit card #s.
I NEVER answer the phone if I don't know who it is. I figure if it is legitimate, or they need to get a hold of me they will leave a message. The two times this number has came up they haven't left a message. After reading this page I think it's a scam, just someone trying to steel credit card info.
Has called more than once. Leaves no message on answering machine.
I didn't answer it
THEY KEEP CALLING...IT SHOWS PENSACOLA,FL...I DO NOT ANSWER..ANSWERED ONE TIME...NO ONE ON OTHER END.....THEY STILL KEEP CALLING....I HAVE CALLER ID ON MY DIRECT TV SCREEN...I DO NOT BOTHER TO ANSWER ANYMORE...NOW FROM WHAT I HAVE READ FROM OTHERS...THIS IS A SCAM!
These people keep calling.I never answer when they call. They call at least 2 times a week.I have reported them it hasn't stop the calls. Also you can *60 on your phone that will block the last call received, they can never call from that number agian, however they change there numbers often.I'm on the dnc list as well it still doesn't stop them.
this is your final notice for lower interest rates on your new account...
This is a regular caller about every two weeks.
"Press 1 or 2"....I hung up.
I'm on the DNC and yet I'm getting calls from these jerks. Probably off shore and all the information on the caller ID is false. I think that any call made to purposly conceal your phone number and name should be a federal crime with steep fines and prison sentances meted out for avoiding and ignoring the DNC laws.
Caller ID said Pensacola, FL. Left no message. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and filed a complaint against this #. Coincidentally, this is the second # to call me from Florida today. The first # that called me was 321-504-7429 caller id: Cocoa, FL...and also left no message. I don't know anyone in Florida and I don't answer any call I don't know.
Called the number back right away and got a voice message that the number had been disconnected, really wierd
said wants to talk to me about my credit card i hung up after telling thm i dont have one
This call came at 4:20 PM on 08/20/08. They left no message. Caller ID just showed Pensicola Fl and the number 850-473-1276. They have called a few weeks ago and I called them back telling them to quit calling me as I am on do not call list.
It is a so called credit card company trying to get people to give them credit card info to lower credit card interest rates. When I questioned her she hung up when I called the number back a few weeks back.
People getting these calls who want to help put a stop to them should go to the web site heatherwithaccountservices.com to get the info on the real identities of the criminals behind this scam and the agencies to report them to using this info. Reporting them using the fake names they give out (Card Services, Financial Services, etc.) or the fake phone numbers that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID does little good.
The most likely one of the several criminal telemarketers behind this scam is American Debt Negotiators, and you can get the information about them and the links of the agencies to report them to at the above web site. They also should be reported to the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services (ADN is based in Florida, and this is the agency that polices telemarketers) and your own state attorneys general office.
Although requests have been made to stop they persist.I have no credit card debt - therefore no interest to worry about.
"Don't be alarmed, but this is your last chance to reduce your rates." What rates? "Press 1 to speak with your account representative." Needless to say, I chose not to -- especially since pressing 1 would establish a business relationship with them, and give them the legal right to call me in the future. At least it wasn't Heather in Account Services.
I am in Kansas and am getting calls from this number. I let the machine get it.
No wonder telemarketing problems. See advertisement at
torontovoicetelecom.com
DFD Telebroadcasting Inc.
Same story as everyone else. Pressing 2 does not help. They keep calling. This has been going on for months.
Another website reports many instances of this number where someone asks for a credit card number to reduce debt. When I called it back, a prerecorded message indicated that the number was disconnected, so obviously it does not accept incoming calls. Everything about this number points to possible fraudulent activity. Since I applied for a home refinance, I've been getting all sorts of strange calls. Be careful who you share your information with.
I played the guy - he said his name was Robert Wills (or Willis) and they were in Florida. He was trying to get me to give him a credit card number. When I started pushing for WHERE in Florida he was, he hung up on me. Come on everyone - let's jerk these people around, waste their time, screw with them. Maybe even get some valuable information with which we can hang them!
"Today is the last day to lower the rate on your acct...." - Clearly a Phishing call. BEWARE!!!
Recorded message stated "Don't be alarmed, but this is your last chance to get lower mortgage interest rates.

koat.com
Remember, one complaint is not enough. We need ALL OF YOU to raise you voice to take down these scumbags.
Now, what can we do about these phone calls? You have two solutions:
1) Speak to one of their customer service representatives. Pretend to be interested in either lowering your credit card interest rate. The will ask for you name and phone number. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY REAL INFORMATION. Give them the name and phone number of the person you hate more than anyone. When the ask for more information, give them a fake credit card number, and a fake SS#.
Your goal is simple. Keep them on the phone for as long as possible. Be friendly. You want to learn as much as possible about them. They will refuse to give you a website, phone number, or even a real company name. They will attempt to give you a generic name such as "Account Services" or "Financial Services." This is done for a reason, to throw you and the government off their tracks. Do not accept this. Keep pressing for info. You will need this (see below).
2) YOU MUST REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES:
Here is how to report these scumbags.
FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION!
Here is the link to file a complaint: esupport.fcc.gov
FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION:
donotcall.gov
You must also file a report with the Attorney General of your state. See the last link in my previous post to see how effective this can be.
We are all in this together. If each one of us would report these cretins, then our combined efforts will force the government to take action.
Here is an example of what can happen:
ftc.gov
The company calling you is a known scammer. They tell you their name is "Financial Services" or "Account Services" because these names are generic and sound like they calling from your bank. They are known crooks.
Here is how to get in touch with them:
Versadebt Corp.
4501 Circle 75 Parkway
Suite #A-1225
Atlanta GA 30339
Their phone numbers are:
678-238-1300
678-238-1349
(will answer the phone as "Financial Services")
678-238-1351
(will answer the phone as "HR")
The owner's name is Marvin Cox.

Same situation as every other person has written on this blog. I have been rec'ing these calls for well over a year now (a good firend of mine has been too). When you press 1 to sepak to someone and ask where they are from or where they got your unlisted number from or you inform them you are on the DNC list, they are either verbally abusive or hang up on you - sont worry though, they'll call you back !! I have reported the 850 and 800 # to the NYS Attorney Generals office and have provide this site for them to see the number of complaints listed since April 2008.
These assholes have called my house so many times in one day that it erased the numbers off my caller ID . They ask for my son and will not answer to anyone else they will hang up first. At one time my husband answered the phone and said yes he's hear hang on. Then he handed the phone to me. when the lady thought she was talkin' to my son she started bein nice. That's when I screamed in her ear WHAT THE F... DO YOU WANT I TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY AND THIS IS HARRASEMENT SO KEEP IT UP. She said well mam we will call til we get ahold of him. and then she hung up the phone. Yes she called the next day and I answered again By screamin' WHAT THE F... she hung up.
They call every week about reducing my credit card rates-they are bottom feeding scum working a scam-they want all kinds of personal info. I played along with them to see what they wanted and they admitted they could not automatically reduce my rates but they have "programs"-yeah right-does not matter if you press 2 or tell them to put you on the Do Not Call-they NEVER stop.
I don't understand why the FCC can't do something about this blatent violation of the no-call list.
I pressed "1" to talk with the rep, otherwise they just keep calling back. She asked me to verify my name and telephone number. I asked which credit card company she was with and she advised that she's with 'all of them". I told her I was on DNU call and she was in violation of the law. She said, "I ain't in violation of shit. You didn't have to press one". Then she hung up. I called the number back but get a "disconnect" message. Thsi is a high quality outfit that's for sure!
I told the guy I was on the DNC list, he grunted and hug up on me. I have filed a complaint with the DNC.
called at 2:09pm on 7/30/08. hung up when my answering machine picked up. Pensacola, Florida called at 1:40pm on 6/27 with a different number left message saying it was the last day to act on an offer for my current credit card account for reduced rates. Pressed #2 to stop messages per recording.
Returned call to number, but number is listed as not being in service. Spoke to a Mark McDonald, who was quite perturbed that I challenged his authority to call a number on the Do Not Call list. In fact, he said the list is bogus and does not apply to his organization. When asked where he was located, he hung up.
These people do NOT stop calling, my last two calls were on July 26th, and July 30, 2008. I live in Macomb County Michigan, and made the mistake of answering the first call, where a woman said "do not hang-up, there is a problem with your loan here in Pensacola, FL", then I quickly hung-up. Please note that my credit is considered "Excellent", and I am registered with the "Do-Not-Call Registry", and have an unlisted telephone number, yet these people have been getting through for over a year now. Sick Of It!!!
Showed Up On Caller ID: 850-473-1276, As Caller: Unknown Name
I answered the call but no one was on the other end. The line went dead (hang-up by caller?) after about 15 seconds.
Got called today, even tho on DoNotCall.gov. Going to file complaint now.
I received a recorded message about time running out to consolidate my debt. I pressed one to talk to a representative only so I could get additional information for an FTC complaint. Gerald answered and said he represented Account Services. Later in the conversation he said he represented Financial Services. Not the brightest bulb in the package! I asked what telemarketing company he worked for and he denied that he worked for one or that he was a telemarketer. Later in the conversation he apparently forgot that he wasn
This is a company that tries to make you think it's your credit card company, offering to "lower your interest rate." Don't know who they're connected with, but I don't think it's any reputable credit-carad issuer (if there is any such thing).
Called early this morning and woke us up. Didn't leave message.
People getting these calls who want to help put a stop to them should go to the web site heatherwitaccountservices.com to get the info on the real identities of the criminals behind this scam and the agencies to report them to using this info. Reporting them using the fake names they give out (Card Services, Financial Services, etc.) or the fake phone numbers that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID does little good.
These scammers are using a phone server that allows them to make up a number to use, in this case a disconnected one. They ignore the DNC law. Do NOT push 1 or 2. I let these jerks go to voicemail but if you answer - Do nothing until they hang up.
lower interest on credit card telemarketing. Do not call list does NOTHING!
Like Patty I just let the machine pick and they immediately hung up.
They get you by telling you to push 1...you do that because you want to know who is calling...when you tell them they are NOT suppose to be calling you they say..."I didn't, You Called Me"...Technically they are right as the Autodialer that Called You, turned around and Called Them when you pushed the 1. So, now you called them & I believe that means they have a right to call you for a year now...Fine print & Loop Holes Suck! Where to we get this changed?!!
They keep calling & never leave a message. I am on the DNC registry and still get calls. I let it go to the answering machine and then delete all these "delightful calls" when I get home later on.
Got a recorded msg regarding last chance to lower my mortgage interest rate. LOL dorks. Like I'd give an unsolicitated phone call my personal info? but interesting note is that RIGHT before this call came in (first time for me) I got another call that was asking for a man, it was all recordings, and if I was NOT the person they were looking for, to please hold on so they could remove my number from the database. Now I realize they wanted to confirm that they got a 'hit' for a real number, entered my phone number into the database, and then I was the next victim on the call list. The first number that called was : TOLL FREE 800 979 6560. So don't answer that number either.
We are on DNC also. They are calling us too. I hope someone in Washington starts putting the wraps on Company's who do this. How many people lose their hard earned money from scams like these?
Call # back and is says the # is disconnected.
Have reprted this number to Do Not Call. Got a letter saying I had a valid complaint and still getting these calls.
Hung up as soon as I heard a recorded voice talking about credity then called back to speak with a sup, All I got was a disconnet message
I dialed the number back and my call was rerouted to a foreign country or something. It's obviously a call bank with a dedicated wire operating in Mexico so they can avoid US laws on automated calling.
Message left on answering machine mentioned something about changing my rates.
These criminals use an automated dialer that places calls to everyone on multiple lists of just about every phone number in the US (including cell phones and people on the DNC list), and that computer cares less about who it is calling or how many times it calls them, as it will randomly call them forever (or until the company making the calls gets shut down by the authorities).
The FTC (and the FCC, your own state Attorneys General Office and others WILL take action (and some ARE) to bust these criminals, but they need to get enough complaints on file using the companies REAL identity, not the fake name (Financial Services, Card Services, etc.) they give out or the spoofed phone numbers (which is why you can never call these numbers back) that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID (that the they change weekly).
Go to the web site heatherwithaccountservices.com and get the information needed to fight back effectively, because you can not answer their call or else answer it and tie them up on the phone all you want, they don't care. They still make enough off of others that their phone bills are not an issue, and their computer will keep calling you anyway no matter what. (This insight comes from people who work or have worked for these very same criminals.)
They left message (10:58am)about last chance to lower your credit card interest rate, please press 1 to speak to someone about lowering the interest rate on your credit card. I called the number back in the evening when I got home, and it said "the number you have dialed has been disconnected or is no longer in service". Caller ID also then showed at 11:11 another call from 062-255-9782 unknown caller.....no message was left.
Wanted to reduce my credit card rate but i dont own a credit card and never have i have repeatedly told them to remove me but they change numbers and keep on calling press 1 to reduce rate or 2 to remove well i press 2 and never got removed so the last few times i pressed 1 and they answer i tell them i dont own a card and who are they and they hang up on me
They called and left no message.
they keep calling. no message, just clogging up my answering machine. i am also on the dnc list.
Why do these people keep on calling? Do not call list doesn't stop them!
I don't answer - they don't leave a message
When I questioned who was calling and the name of the company their agent "Sarah Jones" said Financial Services. When I asked for a website, she said they had one but she wasn't allowed to give it out. When I continued to insist, she became rude, when I asked for a manager, she said she was a manager. I insisted on speaking to someone above her "Eric Narvais" who still refused to reveal the name of the company. He said they had to prequalify me first. I told him we would not conduct business with any company if we were not able to research them and verify that they were legit. I think they are with Ladco Leasing, USA Card Services which has been credited with many many unethical telemarketing scams. Folks - it's not enough to just hang up, get info, write down times of the call, names of agents, etc....and fight this crap by filing a complaint with the FTC, whatever it takes. You can also block specific telephone numbers from calling in - check with your phone carrier or look on line for telephone equipment (telemarketer zappers).
The recording says this is about your credit card account. I have two credit cards, but neither of them has my work phone, I give all creditors my cell phone. So I knew this was bogus since they called me at work. So I just hung up on them.
A recorded message advertising a break in your interest rate? Pressing 2 to discontinue notices does not work - they still call......twits.
These scumbags have changed their tactics.
When I tried to phone the number and find out who is harassing me, I got this recorded message:
"We're sorry - you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service
If you feel you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and try your call again..
For directory assistance you may dial 411 or your directory assistance provider."
If anybody remembers the name of the company, please let me know (so I can track them down and phone them at their homes ...)
They told me I qualify to have my interest rate lowered on my credit cards. I asked some questions to see if she could verify to me who she was. I heard a man in the background start shouting "Everybody..." something about a cell phone. Then she hung up on me. Creepy.
I let the machine answer and they just hangup.
Do NOT CALL list is useless! I am so sick of these people!!!!
when i did not answer this one i immediately got another call from unknown name at number 305 758 9297 which i did not answer either. i let voice mail get them. they call all the time . second call said it was about my credit card.... i do not have one !!!
This is a "consolidate your high interest credit cards.." telemarketer... When I asked WHY they were calling me, since I am on the DNC registry, I got the runaround and then hung up on...
