How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

They use several numbers each day. Automated intro, then press 1 to talk to a live agent. I won't do thjat. So then I called back immediately and was automated recording told, "that number is no longer in service". How CAN that be?? Thye JUSt called me. WIth today's technology why can we NOT stop that nonesense. how DO they do it like that? If I tried it the sheriff would be at my door in minutes arresting me. Very annoying, where is my gun??
Caller ID showed "unknown name". Answered. Recording, a woman's very smarmy voice " If you have diabetes or back pain....something, something about Medicare and then said if you no longer wish to receive these calls press 2. "Did so. Immediately connected to a 'boiler room' where the guy asked if I have diabetes or back pain. I told him I don't give info on my health to callers and told him to remove my number from his list. He said "All right ma'm" Then I hung up.
I'm on "Do Not Call" list. Will file a complaint via FCC online.
Picked up phone. No one there. The number is now in my computer program PhoneTray Free which will answer this number the next time they call, give them a piece of my mind, and hang up. All that's needed is a Fax/Data/Voice/CallerID modem and the free program. Check it out at: phonetray.com
They call several times a day and hang up every time. I reported them to the do not call list. I'd like to hit them on the head a few times with a telephone. There, that feels better just saying it.
From the Dominican Republic. Telmarketers. Survey about medical conditions. Medicare scammers. The places from which these calls are coming are weirder and weirder! (Info from 800notes.com)
# showed up on caller ID. showed as name not found. Since I know noone in dominican republic I did not call back. probably some telemarketer spoofing called ID.
Obviously from Dominican Republic, no message left. They hung up before answering machine clicked on.
Just received a call from this 849-963-3224 number...Dom Republ...caller ID. I was just walking in the door and it stopped ringing..... I was going to call them back and check to see what they wanted, but thought that might be a very expensive call since they are out of the United States.
