I am making a list of dates and times of calls. If they continue, I'm going to report
the data to the Attorney General in Illinois. This caller tried to speak as a reqpresentative
of Medicare services. Medicare doesn't handle its business this way.

From comments of other people regarding these calls, it seems to me that we all ought to get
together and report the data we have to the Attorney General in Illinois or at least to the
police in area coed 847

called and left a recorded message stating they are trying to collect a debt from a person with a similar name. I thought it was against the Fair Debt Collection Act to state what the business is about and the name of the debtor to an unknown or third party. I called them back to be removed from their list. Next time will file complaint!

The calls are generated by an automated system from Arow Financial Services which performs collection services for education loan lender Sallie Mae. Since it is an autodial system, there is minimal financial impact to the company to call at random and to call with great frequency - that is why this can be so frustrating. It's a shotgun approach to collections that relies on a certain percentage of recipients who will return the automated call and requires minimal human interface/cost per call.

Claims to be a debt collector, but I can't believe that a real debt collector would be calling randomly-selected phone numbers. They left a message asking for a someone with a different name whom I don't know. This is almost certainly a credit-card scam, where they hope that you will call back and give them your credit card number. If this were a real debt collector, they would know how to use a telephone book, and only call the people that they are trying to collect debts from. DON'T EVER GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO SOMEONE WHO CALLS YOU!!!

I keep getting calls for someone who had my number previously, obviously not a nice guy!! Collection agency!! I finally picked up the call, after getting 4 calls all day. The first 3 didn't leave any message, this one said to call back on an 800 # that I didn't understand , & did not call back. The person they are trying to reach is NOT ME!! I even tried to follow the prompts, to no avail!! The next time I get it, I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau!!!

A Tammy Smith called and said "personal matter" she is a bill collector who got my cell phone number. NOT COOL!!!

Arrow Finance Collections: Calls our company all the time demanding to speak with an employee. These type of personal calls are not suppose to go through. I told the agent I could put them in a general voicemail box that numerous ppl get messages from, but if it waqs personal, not to leave a message because others would hear it. She left a personal message anyway, financial info. So, I guess they do break the rules. Why can't anyone do something about it though.

These people are a bunch of law breaking idiots. I have called them And in writing told them not to call or try to contact me at all. Which under the Fair Debt Act (or what ever the correct wording is for it)once you inform in them writing not contact you they have to stop all communication with you. Because they are not the person you owe money too. And if you don't any money and they still keep calling you. Get a attorney and sue this dump butts! Because it is called harassment! Have called my parents at least once a day for the last 2 weeks. Won't leave a message. There are no unpaid bills here.

This isn't the first time this company has called. I've told them they're calling the wrong person, but I guess that doesn't matter. One time my husband almost paid them $600. He doesn't pay the bills and didn't know this wasn't our bill and because the name was so close to his, he thought they were mis-pronouncing his name. He thought it was a bill I forgot about. Luckily he called me at work and asked if it was okay to pay. We are being harrassed by collection agencies for someone whose name is close to my husbands. Most of these companies wont even believe it is not us. I don't know who provides all these companies with their phone numbers, but there has to be something innocent people can do to have their phone number removed. I got home yesterday and of the 10 messages on my voicemail, 9 of them were for someone else!

They keep calling but it is a recording asking for someone who doesn't live at this address and has never lived at this address. Just has the same last name. Recording actually says press 1 to give person time to come to the phone and press 3 if the person is not able to come to the phone. Stupidly, I pressed 3...not because the person is not able to come to the phone, though! Just no one here by that name!

Arrow financial. They were calling for previous owner of this # (more than 1 yr ago). Woman was pleasant, said she'd remove my # immediately.

I had a past due balance with a cc company and settled with them. Then Arrow financial called about the same debt. I found out that both collection agencies are located in Chicago,IL. When I spoke to a Mr. Dancy and informed him that they had called on behalf of the same account he told me that he knew the lady that I had spoken with. Well at that point I wanted to know how she obtained my information, he then became defensive and started yelling at me then hung up. Five times I called back and the same thing, Finally, I got his supervisor and informed her of what I thought was going on. That Mr. Dancy had leaked out my information for a kickback. Maybe his buddy or girlfriend worked at Arrow Financial and they had a system set up. Mr. Dancy supervisor said she remembered him yelling on the phone and was going to deal with it. That didn't bother me as bad as a company I 've never heard of having my SS# and all my other info. So just to let ya'll know it was CITI card that Mr.Dancy worked at. That's just my theory of whats going on.......

Simply call them up and pay your bills you evil people, when you owe someone money ofcourse they are going to call you, wouldn't you call someone who owed you money?

Or if someone is calling you and it's the wrong # simply call and say so, unless the people calling you are a psychic hotline, then they will figure it out themselves.

If you can, shut the ringer OFF on your land line phone like I do. I work all day and do not want the phone ringing a zillion times a day, especially when the windows are open. I check the CID when I get home in the evening. TONS of calls from various numbers.....MOST DON'T LEAVE A MESSAGE, CID INDICATES "UNAVAILABLE", AND THEY KEEP CALLING BACK NUMEROUS TIME DURING THE DAY AND EVENING. I come to this site (SUPER SITE FOR INFO) to get info on who the numbers might belong to. If any of these callers leave a message (VERY RARE) I will call them back.

ANOTHER TIP.....IF YOU DO ANSWER THE CALL.....THE FIRST THING TO ASK IS ... "WHAT COUNTRY ARE YOU CALLING FROM?" WHEN THEY TELL ME "INDIA", "BARBADOS", "OVERSEAS", ETC, I IMMEDIATLEY TELL THEM.... Arrow financial is a collection agency. They will keep calling and calling at all hours of the day and night. I currently am being pestered by them on an identity theft . Charges to my credit were made and arrow is trying o force me to pay on this. They are low life scum and I will have to go to court and counter sue them.

Too bad the Do Not Call registry is down tonight. Must be lots of people calling about Arrow. I don't have any loans or any debts so I have no idea why they would be calling me. Will complain to donotcall.gov when they come back up again.

Person specifically ask for my wife by name and he would not tell me the purpose of the call and wouldn't identify himself. I told him if he isn't one of the financial institutions I already work with that he shouldn't be calling my number which is registered on the national DNC and he just said "uh huh". He said he couldn't disclose any information when I asked again to identify himeself then I immediately hung up.

They have been calling several times a day for the last three weeks. I finally picked up the phone today and they were looking for a lady who was the previous owner of this house. When I told them that she hasn't lived her for over 5 years he asked how my number was still associated with this address, as the practice of a new home owner keeping the same phone number as the previous home owner stopped in the 80's. In other words, he was accusing me of lying. I suspect they found my address online and my number was associated with the address. The number has NEVER been associated with the previous home owner who they were looking for. Idiots.

When these douchenozzels call back I plan to tell them to go to HELL where they belong.

I normally don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number on caller id, and I've gotten several calls from this number this morning. They never leave a message on my answering machine. If it's so important why don't they leave a message?

Some one from this number keeps calling and asking for Joanne who seems to be popular. I keep telling them that no on by that name is here and they keep calling. I really wish they would stop. They are messing up my peak minutes.

Call 1-800-896-2743 and give them your phone number. They were able to verify the name that they were seeking and then I was able to give birthday, day of month only, and she was able to verify that we weren't who they were looking for. I believe they will remove my number from their search.
After that, she was really nice. I used to work for a company that purchased old deb like they apparently do, but once the agreed upon portion of the debt was paid, they were able to report the bill as paid/settled on the credit report.

They called over and over again for months...i finally answered and the man was very rude. He wouldn't tell me why he was calling, but he repeatedly asked for my social security # and birth date. I refused to give it to him and hung up. After going to this website I called the 800 number and a representative told me that they were looking for someone else. I think something needs to be done about this. I hope I don't get anymore calls.

I am unfortunately been assigned a new cell phone number that formally was used by someone Arrow is looking for. I have explained the fact that I am not who they are looking for but they tell me they will correct the records and they call back in 10minutes with a new person. Repeated attempts to correct this has been ignored.I have resorted to ignoring the call. This is difficult when I am in a social setting so I have resorted to setting my phone to vibrate only. I called the 18008962743 after recieving a message for someone I had never heard of before. I explained to Mark at Arrow Financial that the phone number was incorrect. He immediately removed my telephone number from his list. The entire phone call took less than five minutes.

I answered the call and they asked to speak to another person in the house saying just "Danielle from Arrow Financial Services". The person they asked to speak with has excellent credit and we are on the national Do Not Call list. They asked to "verify his social security number" and said it was a confidential matter and refused to state the reason why they needed it unless he told them his social.

Phone rang twice. I answered. No one there. Looked the number up on your website. Said Arrow Financial. They had called my number once before. My granddaughter had some credit problems over eight years ago and I think Arrow Financial has called my number to get to her. I have no contact with her and haven't had any for many years. They need to update their records. Don't plan on talking to them as from your info they seem very rude and unprofessional. I can't help them out and probably wounldn't anyway.

I have been getting calls from this number and they hang up and it is listed as a missed call on my phone. I had called back this number 2 months ago to complain--I do not know them and they do not know me and say they have no record of my being called but now I am starting to get these calls again so I have reported to the DO NOT CALL complaint line

They called everyday 2 or 3x a day for a week. Usually very early in the morning when we were still sleeping. They always left messages asking for someone I've never heard of. Finally I answered today and told them they had the wrong number. I hope they don't call back.

This number has called me for one week. They have been calling twice an hour for a week. I have been trying to get a hold of someone to get off the calling list, but I get no one. I am just glad that I am not the only one who has had this number bug them like it has me.

The caller is Arrow Finacial Services. They are one of the debt collection agencies that skirts the grey area of legal harassment to attempt to collect debts. They call at least once or twice a day and the phone will only ring once or twice, and the line disconnects before I can answer. I did finally speak to a live person, and she explained that their software was programmed to call numbers in the system daily.

14 times today ... and not one time was there a live person on the line! They have called around 60 times in the last week with the same results! I don't even owe them a DIME!! :(

These people will call you and then hang up when you answer. They call multiple times in one day, and then monitor your call when they do answer they have the worng person's phone number. They even called me during class, I answered and I told her she called me multiple times yesterday and today, that I wasn't who she was looking for, and to stop calling b/c i was having the number blocjed on my phone. They keep calling, Caller ID states: UNKNOWN Name. Since I don't have voicemail anymore there are no messages. If they are a debt collect in my state they are required to identify themselves. According to BBB they have had their licenses to operate yanked in multiple states.

most the time is unkown caller from illinois. our problem is there is another in this town with our name, have verified several time it is not us but the same guy kept clling back. got mad and yelled so then they hd a different person call. told this person it was the wrong one, that they verifed several times, that it was iligal to harass like this, they said we shouldnt be running our bills up all over town and running out on them. i calle dthe number back and asked for a supervisor, he 'says' he listed it as a bad number, but with it being the same name i don't think it will be the end of it.

Keep calling and not leaving any message , they call all hours of the night and day, the last call was at 12:28 am and when it was answered they hung up.

When I answered the phone, all I got was a recording saying, "Please stay on the line and your call will be answered shortly. Be aware that this call may be recorded or monitored."

These people should get their records right but on the other hand you have to balme the person who ever pulled our numbers and used it for whatever they wanted to buy or some crap cause its a finance company.

Well here is what I did and I have to say its been the best investment I've ever made ...sunrocket.com....or use any VOIP service like vonage or even road runner so that you can block unwanted calls from even ringing the phone period!
I kept my land line and forwared it to my sunrocket number and have blocked all the unwanted calls =)

I've been getting a daily voicemail from these idiots for nearly a month. One of the few times I was home, I answered and the message said to press "0" to speak to an operator. Of course, nothing happens when you press 0. I left the phone off the hook and the message kept repeating itself for over 4 hours (when I eventually got bored and hung up).

The pre-recorded message never says what it is for, nor who they wish to contact. Arrow Financial called my number over a year ago looking for someone I've never heard of. I'm assuming this is a repeat of the same nonsense.

There should be a law against calling with pre-recorded messages without even saying what you are looking for!!!

I love this website. I called the 800 number mentioned in Jon's comments (800.896.2743), followed his example by being nice and a nice lady informed me who they were looking for. I told her it wasn't me and she promptly removed my number from her list. I hope that's the end of it!

This Arrow is on the Top 10 Scum Collectors. Check out Bud Hibbs. This guy knows the scum-sucking collection biz. Most numbers you see that say unavailable, or caller unknown are more than likely collection agencies. They know debtors will not answer their phone if they know who is calling.

They also know the psychology of the human psyche and when you are bugged at al times of the day it either makes you say "I know that's a collector and you allow them to 'hound' you and remind you that you owe money and 2) creates a mystery to where you just may answer to find out who it is!

Course, that's when you loose because once you answer--they know they have a live-right number and the time you answered.

They keep calling me even though the card they're calling on has been discontinued/voided out.
They do indeed seem to be a debt collection agency.

This is a debt collector. They're extremely rude, and don't seem to understand simple english... such as "I have no contact with my x, nor any phone number for you to contact him." After I told him not to call again, he said he would call again tomorrow! Like I'm going to have contact all of a sudden tomorrow? Get real!!Then he kept trying to give me his number, so I could call my x and have him call them. I told him... I have no contact with him, and no of no phone number by which to contact him. The guy was horribly rude and I finally had to get nasty with him and told him NOT to call this number again. So far, so good, but I'm sure in another week or so they'll start up again.

They have called me every day, 2-3 times a day, for 3 weeks on my cell. I called the main number of Arrow Financial and was unable to get through. When I finally did, they said they were closed due to technical errors the Friday before Labor Day. I then called 1-800-896-2743, nicely told the women my problem, and she connected me to someone who asked the number that was being called, asked my name, and said they were looking for someone else, and removed my name. The company is a debt collection service, and uses any old numbers to track people down. Call them back to be sure, because if you are victim of identity theft, and someone is using your name and number and not paying the bills, this might be the first time you hear about it. P.S. My number was on the National Do Not Call List, so I did report them for the continued calls.

They have called my privet cell, and home # and no one speaks.

This irritating telemarketing machine has been calling my house repeatedly for about two months. Why have they not been fine for violating the National Do Not Call List?

They kept calling me until recently. Every time I answer the digital voice on the other end asks for "Deralist Cutter" or whatever. I sit on the line or answer the questions and nothing happens. VERY annoying

The name of this company is Arrow Finacial Services. I called them. They were looking for someone else and simply removed my number from their database. I suspect they're a debt collector.

They actually called me three times. They keep on asking for someone who doesn't live here. I don't know how to stop them.
