It's a collection agency, who by the way is VERY rude and VERY persistant. Unfortunately, the number that is calling, is hooked up to a computer. So no luck in getting anyone to answer. But after doing some digging I have found that it belongs to a Van Ru Credit Corporation.

From the looks of Van Ru is in good stand with the BBB, and is actually a member. However, being in good standing only means you have responded to the complaints and dealt with them. They have had 94 complaints alone this year.

Their contact information is:

Van Ru Credit Corporation
1350 E Touhy Avenue
Suite # 300E
Des Plaines, IL 60018

Telephone: (800) 468-2678
Fax: (847) 824-9485

website is: vanru.com/

I also found a local number if you wish to block your identity when inquiring to what they need from you...

(847) 673-5560

Hope this information helps.

I didn't answer the phone as I didn't recognize who was calling. No message was left.

I answered the phone. There was no one on the other line. Caller ID said, ILLINOIS CALL. Strange. Oh well.

The phone rang 3 times, then hung up.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
