How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I got a call from this number by i missed it and when i tried to call it back it said: "we're sorry you have reached a number that has been disconected or is no longer in service, if you feel you have reached this recording in error please check the number and try your call again" then it hangs up. its quite weird if anyone knows who this is email me at: ARU007@aol.com thanks

That was 818-491-0989, not 818-418...
My caller ID said California 818-418-0989...I do not take phone calls from strangers so I did not answer...Also, I been experiencing an epidemic invasion of obnoxious after-sale car warranty peddlers ever since I purchased a used Saturn just out of warranty a few months ago. By mail and by phone. I suspect either the dealer or Saturn sold my name, address, and phone number to telemarketers.
an SOB car warranty machine called me everyday. Never answer it!
Saw this on caller ID and let it go to voice mail. It was an automatic caller so only the second half what it was saying was recorded in my VM, but it was something about a car warranty. So I can confirm Kenny's comment.
I got a call from this number at work so I answered it. This company sells after market car warranties. And just in case you're wondering, I called a few friends of mine in the auto business and the warranty they sell is over priced and is not accepted at reputable mechanic shops. Do yourself a favor, don't answer it :-)
