How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:

Someone named Neal Johnson called one of my friends and my mom (I used them as references) saying they needed to speak with me regarding some fraudulent activity that I participated in when I opened a loan.
First, I looked up the number and it said it was a landline in Tampa, Florida. So, I called and no one answered and there was not a voice mail either (that was around 9:30pm 10/26/09). Then I called again @ 11:00 am on 10/27/09 and someone answered with a strong/thick Middle Eastern accent. He wanted me to verify my info (ss#, address and amount of the loan). I said if you are a debt collector, then you should have all my information. He started to get frustrated and actually read my SS# and address to me and said "Well is this correct?" He then said, "Your account is past due, we need to collect more information and we need for you to make a payment over the phone." I asked again where he was calling from and he said, "We are a legal collection agency for a loan company." I said okay, well since my payment is NOT DUE for another WEEK, I will contact them to make my payment. He became angry and said,” Well call them and make your DAMN payment and hung up the phone." I then called my loan company and reported what happened and they said "IT'S A SCAM" and people have been complaining about this # and company. PEOPLE PLEASE BE CAREFUL!! This was a first for me, so now I am going to be extremely cautious and monitor the credit. Today I added Identity and Credit Theft Protection to my credit. Yes...it is going to cost me $15.00 a month ($180/yr), but that's better than my bank accounts being cleaned out and my credit ruined
i got the same phone call on 10/14, and like everyone says they are rude and they cannot answer the questions that I ask them, is this a scam, sounds like it
These people are rude threatening and harassing me. I have no idea what they are talking about but they called me names said they were going to have my job and so forth where can i report them so this stops?
