Who Called Us

I work in the call center industry and i actually worked for CLC it is not a scam. Ask for your home address because the COOLER comes in a huge package! You wanna lug that around work all day? Go ahead. People are so ignorant scam scam scam scam. Funny considering its a legit business. Notice all of you recieve products. Sales is not a scam just because people are to ignorant to realize ITS SALES. Be annoyed all you want but seriously people stop with the scam scam scam scam you just look ignorant!

We just got this same call, I went to the clc website listed below at clcbulbs.com and I called the Toll free (866) phone number at the bottom and spoke to a lady. I let her know that the guy (Kent or Ken) I had just spoken with told me he was sending the cooler whether or not I wanted one to our old address since I wouldn't give him a current one. She was above and beyond nice and helpful and said she isn't sure if someone is just using their company for this scam but they really are doing a cooler-promo but she knows that the company wouldn't endorse the way people are being bullied and spoken to. I gave her this site address and told her they are giving their company a really bad name and she seemed like she was going to get down to the bottom of it. Hopefully!

They just called me. Free ice chest, with the cataloge on the inside. Free to be shipped to MY home address. Weird.

The phone number was 1-813-341-4025, he said his name was John.

Just received this call and googled company name to see if this was legit. All to familiar with these types of scams. Caller wanted to send a free ice chest with holders as a way to get out their catalog. I asked her if we had purchased from them before and she wasn't sure... she worked in promotions dept. After that I told her we were not interested, that we worked with a local company for our light bulbs and to have a good day. She tried to carry on about our address and asked if I was authorized to purchase for the company, I said NO and told her to have a good day, then hung up. Do not answer YES to any of their questions regarding if your authorized to purchase for yourself or company.

Same scam tried on me.
Tried to get my home address to send me a cooler.
Tried to get my last name.
Tried to send me a case of lamps.
They called my company up pretenting to be our lamp distributor.
They were given my cell number as I am the lamp buyer for our company.
Made it sound like we have not seen each other for awhile and they need to revisit us again.
DO NOT SAY "YES" to anything they say or you will be shipped and billed for items you did not request!

A rep called saying he'd been trying to get in touch with me for days. He acted like he knew me then when I asked if we currently use them as a vendor he told me he didn't know because he was a new rep in the area. I asked him where the company was located and all he would say is "nationwide". He wanted to give me a free cooler with drink holders or something lame like that and send it to my HOME address! I told him no and he insisted that this is the way they distribute their catalog. While I was talking to him I googled the company name and read about all the scams. I told him what I'd been reading while he was carrying on and he hung up on me.

This company called me trying to give me a free ice chest. They wanted my name and address so they could send me the free ice chest. I asked them if there was any obligation by accepting the free ice chest and they said "NO". They further explained that this is how they get there catalog out to people. I said OK and they took my last name and read me off me address. They then said that a box of light bulbs would be sent to me. I said "I don't want any light bulbs" and they hung up on me. I tried to call the number back (1-813-514-1481) but the number would not go through. I searched the internet and found that a lot of people have fallen for their scam. This company sends out a crate of overpriced light bulbs that people did not order then sends them an invoice for the light bulbs. If you try and return them they will charge you shipping and a restocking fee. Their phone number has changed several times. It has been 1-800-285-4488 and 1-866-285-4448. I just received a call from the same rude jerk. Asking who is in charge of maintenance in our company. Well, we are a service company and I proceeded to ask relevent questions to find out what he was looking for and finally got the "who buys your light bulb" question. I told him we haven't bought them in years and we have a good supply still and informed him that we are on the no-call list. He accused me of being evasive and started an agrument. When I told him I didn't have time for this, he said, "well I don't have time for your A#@ either. How on earth can he sell anything being that rude?

This man just called our "Warehouse Man" and was very rude!!!

I had the pleasure of this "gentleman" calling and just what everyone here has said, he is rude and then wanted my home address(in a threatening manner). There was no answer when I called back. The "gentleman" wanted to go and meet me to "straighten things out" and when i gave the business address he cursed and hung up.

As a business owner in the Pacific NW, I see and hear quite alot of strange shit. On the top of the strange shit list would be the barrage of solicitor calls coming in all my phone lines at 75 a day. When you think about the waste of human time that it requires to complete these calls, it amazes me. What type of person starts these types of businesses and what type of person works for them, well they are one in the same. My guess after listening to all the accents from all areas of the US & the other hired countries, most of these humans have an IQ of 35 at best. That of course does not take into account the proprietors of the company which probably do not measure up much further. Society should build tall concrete fences around the trailer parks that these business owners & employees come from as this would reduce the level of bacterial infestation that these pond scum humans deliver to our beautiful planet. Its only a matter of time before these companies come to a grinding halt….you watch.

Very rude apparently uneducated scam artist. I do believe he is trying to sell light bulbs or something to do with lighs. When I would not answer he questions until he identified himself he got very angry, yelled and then hunged up. I tried to call back and of cause could not get through. The number is in call block now.

Just recieved a call from Ernie as follows:
CLC: What's the name of the maintenece guy again I can't remember? Liz; Who's calling please? CLC:Yeah I need the name of the guy who orders light bulbs? LIZ: We order locally, thank you anyway. CLC: Yeah yeah I'm local, I'm right down the street if that's what your worried about? LIZ: Excellent, what's the name of my hardware store? CLC: You F%$#ing B#$^h.

RECEIVED CALL FROM MAN FROM COMMERCIAL SUPPLY. INSISTED ON SENDING CATALOG. SAID SENDING "FREE ICE COOLER". THEN WANTED MEETING. TOLD WILL LOOK AT CATALOG FIRST. THEN INSISTED HE WAS SENDING SMALL BOX OF 4' LIGHT BULBS. TOLD HIM NO. WANTED MY HOME ADDRESS TO SEND COOLER. TOLD HIM NO. HAD TO HANG UP ON HIM BECAUSE HE KEPT INSISTING HE WAS SENDING US A BOX OF LIGHTS. HAD TO HANG UP ON HIM BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT SHUT UP. 8/13/08

they asked for our parts manager, then asked me to give them his cell number, when i said no, he hung up

I woman called to speak to a person at our company. I asked her what it was reguarding and she said "WHAT" I repeated myself and she hung up on me.

REDICULOUSLY RUDE FROM A MAN WHO APPARENTLY WANTS TO TRY TO SELL US SOMETHING BUT TRYING TO GET HIS FOOT IN THE DOOR BY TELLING US WE ORDERED SOMETHING BUT CAN'T TELL US WHAT IT IS, WHEN WE ORDERED IT OR ANYTHING. JUST HARASSING, REPORTED HIM TO THE PHONE COMPANY.

A gentleman wanted to speak to maint. and I said "I am a co-owner." Then he hung up. How unethical and nonprofessional.
