Who Called Us

I live in MA and this phone number calls about 15 times a day.....against the law and they don't leave any info. When they do leave a message, it is something about "green team, blue team, purple team....." but don't give any information. I am calling Verizon immediately to have this number blocked.

Called both my work number and my home number today, which seems to indicate I have some sort of business relationship with them, or they represent someone who does. No message left with either number.

Just an FYI to you guys, federal and state laws prohibit harassment by debt collectors but most places don't define what constitutes what is harassment. As general guidelines, calls can be made at any time between 8 am and 9 pm your local time, up to 9 calls per day (though no more than 7 calls to the same number). The calls should not be made one right after the other, and they can't just let the phone ring on and on (usually no more than about 8 rings).

Some states (Massachusetss, for ex) have much more restrictive laws (can only call the home three times a week and work twice a month), but most states don't offer this level of consumer protection.

Someone mentioned a grace period. That has nothing to due with collection calls. If you are even one date after your due date, you are late. You have until the end of the grace period before you are charged an extra fee, but even if you aren't charged a fee or reported to the credit bureaus the collections department will consider you late the day after your contractual due date (which is why it is called your DUE date in the first place).

citibank calls under another number (859) 283-8071 and when I do not answer the call, they call back on this number. They call every 10 minutes, over a payment that is less than 2 weeks late. VERY ANNOYING

This number has called me 6 times in the last three hours. Never leaves a message and no on is there when you answer.

I don't know if this is Citi or not since they never leave a message and there is never anyone on the line when I pick up the phone. I do not, never have and will not have a Citi account after this. All I can think of is my mother passed away a few months ago and we cancelled her accounts which were paid in full and now they have my number and want me to get an account with them. I have been experiencing multiple calls per day from the 803 835-5600 number for about a month now. I originally thought the source of these calls might some kid making random prank calls. It is highly disappointing to find out that a financial institution would resort to such practices. According to my wife our Citi account has been paid off forever..

I pick up and there is nothing but clicking on the line. Very strange.

My husband has told them nicely he doesn't know who she is. He's threatened to sue them. He's yelled at them. These idiots (NCO Financial, hired by Citi to collect bad debts) have harassed me for the past year... and they're not even calling the right person! They're looking for some woman named Jennifer... and I'm a guy who doesn't know anyone by that name.

They have called, left voice messages and text messages. So far, they've contacted me 295 times this year, chewing through a lot of cell phone minutes, since they tend to call from 2 to 5 times simultaneously, leaving multiple, long messages on my voicemail.

When told that they're calling a wrong number, they refuse to remove the number, apparently thinking that Jennifer has a deep, raspy man's voice. It has been reported on other websites that these scum will continue to harass people (even those who don't owe them a dime) until they agree to pay them.

I've never done business with Citi (and never will).

they call if you are not even due on your car payment to make sure they ware going to receive it. They call to tell you that the payment was due yesterday even though you have a grace period with them.

No one in my house has an account with them, yet for the past 3 weeks or so they have been calling anywhere from 3-10 times a day, sometimes more. At first we thought they had our number with someone else's name, but now they've started asking for us by name when we (rarely) pick up the phone. We have repeatedly asked them to stop and tried to explain that we have never done business with them, but nothing works. Any ideas on how to make them stop?

These people have been calling our home number for three weeks and have been told REPEATEDLY that the person they are asking for is not at this number nor have they ever lived here. We have had our number for ten years - we know who lives here. SUPPOSEDLY have removed our number but we'll see if they call again (it's not like we haven't requested it several times already). Not only that - we have ZERO dealings with this company. You ask me - they hire a bunch of morons. And if we ever had the chance to do business with them we would not just because of these harassing phone calls. Obviously the person who owes them money (we are assuming that is the case) gave them a made up number. We hope they all rot in hell. We pay our bills and don't need no stinkin' bail-out. Maybe next time they call, we'll just say hang on and put the phone down and leave it.

They continually harass my cell phone, calling at all hours of the day, often two or more times right in a row, leaving long messages on voicemail, and even sending text messages.

The problems with this:
1) I have to pay for cell phone minutes.
2) I have to pay for cell phone text messages.
3) I don't have ANY debts. No credit card debt, no auto loan, no home loan, nothing.
4) I've never had an account with Citi or any of its subsidiaris or affiliates.

I have received numerous calls from this number (803)835-5600. They never leave a message. They have been calling every day since I got my new phone. How can I get them to stop?

comapany calls once every fifteen minutes. Hangs up if you answer the phone rather than let the answering machine pick it up. Leaves long messages on machine taking up all time on answer machine. Have told them to remove phone number from their calling list but this seems to be a big turn on for them and makes them call back that much more. Are these just a bunch of lonely people who have nothing to do but irritate people? I do not have an account with them. Come on, get a life !

I did not recognize the number but answered anyways and it was a recording. The system went through the usual ring-back and then another recording offered to let me speak to a rep to make a payment by phone. I checked my Citi accounts and am not late on any.

The FCC is the only department that can stop citi's obnoxious calls, if people were smart enough to think of that. I believe we, the people of the USA, just bailed out CITIGROUP. that's about as disgusting as the treatment you give your customers.

I owe 1 credit card from citifinancial, it is not late, it gets paid on time & I am tired to the point of shutting off my cell phone to stop what I consider HARRASSING phone calls. Citi Finacial- they call me about 5 times a day or more on my cell phone. I just flip the phone on and hang up on them. I'm tired of them clogging up my voicemail. They'll get their money sooner or later. I don't exactly have a money tree growing in my back yard.

This number calls repeatedly looking for a person who doesn't live here. When I called the first thing they asked for was a social security number. I told them I was not the person they had been calling. They then said "Hold a minute please" and then transferred me to a number that rang 20 times.

this number calls from 7;30 am til 8;45 pm They never say anything when picking up or it hangs up on the answering machine. At 2;20 this afternoon there was a two minute recording on my answering machine from this number. tacky music and heavy breathing. very unprofessional. I dont know who it is for sure because they never say anything...but I am late on my citicard payment.............ugh

I get 5 or 6 calls from this number a day. I normally don't pick it up, but when I do, no one is there. I call the number back and it says CITY. I think one time I did get someone and they wanted to verify my information. All they could say is my town. Sounded funny to me. I'm pretty sure this isn't a legit CITI financial or anything like that. Don't give out your personal info.

Their customer service is terrible! They keep calling my home for a customer that I do not know. When I try to tell them the number belongs to me not their customer, they are so rude, use phone tones in my ear and will not let me get a word in. When I called to speak with a supervisor I was told by yet another customer service rep that she didn't know who the supervisor was! Duh, what kind of people does this company hire. Unless you want a world of grief pray you do not get a phone number that once belonged to one of their customers.

They call the company I work for at least 5 times a day looking for several different employees. I have had it. Thank goodness for caller ID. Every time I see the number, I pick the phone up and place the call on hold and leave it. They should not be calling people at their place of business in the first place. I know these people they are calling for work and work hard. I am not judging them for what their situation may be and I will certainly not be sending the call to them so they can be harassed at work.

This is CITIFINANCIAL. They keep calling you a hundred times even if you are a minute past due date. Never ever deal with CITIFINANCIAL or anything under their brand name. To pay the amount due, we have to pay $15 as transaction fees. In their own words - you have the option to pay $15 as transaction fee or pay $39 as late charge fees. By the way they call $15 as courtesy fees and thats a big joke. Never ever go with no interest equal monthly payment option. You may or may not receive your first month bill but for sure you will receive your second month bill with late charge fees of $39. They are trying to recover the $20 billion mortgage write off by all means. They are already in mud and digging themselves deep further with such a nasty customer service. Blame it on the government too, they are the first to rescue these banks.

I received 2 messages, 1 yesterday, 2/4/08, and the other today. One of those deals where a pc starts talking as soon as my voicemail picks up, they were smart enough to write a program that calls you but doesn't wait for a beep before leaving a message. So all i got was their phone number, in the last 2 seconds you can hear someone pick up saying "hello...........heeeeeeeellllllllloooooooooo-click." All of my bills are paid, i have no debt, so i don't really care, i just googled the number and found this site which had an entry for this number. Its retarded how bill collectors get your phone numbers now. Alot of people change their number to temporarily stop the calls, but that never works. To the person that asked if they could sue this company, do what i did, once you get them on the phone tell them that you are recording the call for legal purposes and if they actually stay on the phone with you tell them calmly and clearly, " i do not want any representative of your company or any company your company does buisness with to contact me again, for any reason, ever." You can keep talking or just hang up at that point, but if any of those people do contact you, you can sue the f**k out of them and most likely win, i did! F**K YOU VERIZON!!! If you tell them to stop calling and they keep calling anyway, it's harassment and its completely illegal.

This is Citifinancial. Covers all areas of credit given. Sometimes they leave a message, sometimes they dont. They also have a bad habit of calling several times even after you have spoken with a representative. Oh well.

They literally just called my office. They call from a different number everyday. I put this number in google with no dashes and found this site. Kudos to the creators. To everyone else being bothered by them, write a certified letter to their corporate office if the calls continue after that I think you have a legal case.

We have received both no message and a recorded message (which I didn't connect until this site). I wish we could just get them to stop calling, how annoying, I don't know who would be crazy enough to continue business with them after all of the harassment. We financed a fridge on a no interest for a year plan. Had I known I would have just paid for the stupid thing.

I have a loan through them. I advised them b-4 my payment was even late that I was on STD waiting for a check. Automated message says it's Citifinancial. We did have accounts with them so one day I answered. They have the wrong person - wrong middle name and I never had an account at the store they said, which I told them. The girl said I'd have to call their customer service number. I said no I don't, it's not my acct. They are still calling every day, at least 4 times a day, sometimes the automated message, sometimes real person saying hello or my name on our machine. I've checked my credit report and it's fine, so I will continue to ignore. But somebody needs to stop these jerks!!!!

I am sick of these prank calling assholes. They keep calling our UNLISTED number and hanging up. This morning they picked up and there was a ton of silence and then some chick on the other end starts LAUGHING! What kind of unprofessional assholes are these? Every time I attempt to call them back their system hangs up on me! I did wind up talking to a "Miss Glenn" (who sounded more like a 'miss cleo' with her Jamacian accent who wouldn't let me talk to a manager and kept talking over me, what some biatches.

They just called me saying my bill was 5 days past due and they would be glad to take a payment over the phone. I said I had to check with my wife to verify a check was not in the mail. BUT just as I was getting off the phone, she asked me to VERIFY MY ADDRESS. If they have both my work phone, my home phone and mortgage info, WHY would they need to verify my address!???!! Very suspicious....

starting on may 30th at 8:04 am until 5:30 pm they have called ever 15 mins to half hour. When i pick up its a recording to call them.

CitiMortgage. Their customer service operator (sounded like he was in India) told me you have a 18 day grace period to pay your bill. This is the first time i didn't pay on time and i got 4 collection calls on the 10th day. This person told me the 18 days was for no late fee, but you would get collection calls.

Called my work cellphone 2x within 10 min in regards to an employee who was no longer around. Different voices (M&F) each call.

Remember it is illegal for them to call a cell phone unless you give specific consent. This law has been around for more than 10 years. They do this because it cost you money

someone from this number called looking for information on one of my neighbors. Are they allowed to do that? The person said their name was Raynay and asked if I knew anything about the neighbor accross the street from me. I asked why they were calling me and asking me that and they said nevermind and hung up. VERY STRANGE!

Citibank Financial calls 3 times a day when our home mortgage is 1 minute past due date. We have excellent credit and rarly pay bills late, but their financial service is terrible to deal with, we've asked for automatic deduction from our checking account for 5 months and we JUST received the form in the mail. DO NOT sign up for Citibank people.
