Automated message from (760)741-3863 about auto last change something... asked me to press 9 to put into do not call list. I know somehow it was a scam but I still press 9 anyway. Until I could not sleep at night that this scam remind me of something that I read online about telephone scam a year ago that keep me up awake to do some research. The worst part was I had been scam twice in one day. Previous caller number 802-848-7489 call me on July 02, 2008 and it was the same automated message but they asked to press 2 instead of 9. Well, as a victim I had pressed 2. They hang up in 10 seconds after I pressed the number they wanted. Now I am worried about the big telephone bill when I had press 9 and the research I did online today that they can hack into your sim card to make their own personal copy in which they can obtain your personal information and use your sim card info to make as many long distance calls as many as they wish.

I received this phone call on my cell today telling my the warranty on my vehicle has expired and if I do not get the extention I will loose my warranty. I called this number back and it says it is a disconnected number.

Am getting calls for car warranty on my cell phone. Usually occurs between noon and 2 pm. Also received in the mail from DS Dealer Services a "Final Notice" on car warranty with an offer of a free 15 piece toolkit. Interestingly there is NO address or any mail return - only the #1-866-537-2129. The envelope carries the zip code 63385 which is Missouri. I suspect these 2 are related. Am going to check with USPS in regard to the mail and will file a complaint about the calls. The input from others is helpful and appreciated.

Call came in on cell phone. I called back logged number (no ID). Message rolled about how important it is not to let my vehcile warranty expire, your call is important to us,approx how many more minutes, etc. Man finally came on. I asked if he
was calling from the Chrysler dealership--no, and he didn't have information in front of him. I told him not to call again or I would file a complaint. He basically told me to shove it. I have filed the complaint already. I noted below a Florida
address that I believe is the same one that was a travel scam that went around about a year or so ago. I put the postal inspector on that--anything coming through the mail gives you the USPS as well as the FTC. I'm especially worried about elderly people like my mother in this one. I noticed that virtually everyone below says the call came in on their cell phone. I have seen that on the other research I have done. Next question would be if all same service, i.e. AT&T? Sprint? Have they been cracked?

Can we hunt them. Is there a bounty?

This number called my cell phone, but hung up after 3 rings. I seem to be on a list and keep getting strange unknown phonecalls on my cell phone. I don't give my cell # out to anyone except close friends and all the calls seem to be from some vehicle warranty company.

Have received numerous calls in regards to vehicle warranties. I started answering and now I am asking who is calling, with company they are with and where are they located. I do not get very far before they hang up. Tried to call the number back but an automated voice answers stating that the number 802-848-7489 is no longer in service. This is only one of several numbers that have continously called sometimes up to 5 times a day.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
