How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Called at 8:30am, no message, just a 'click' left on voice mail; I don't have (or have ever had) a Discover card.
These people called my house and left a message for my sister in law (who is not a Discover card holder, nor has she ever lived at my house) saying that it's very important for her to call back. They also said "This is definitly not a sales call."
It is Discover Debt calling because we haven't paid them in a while because food and the light bill is more important than our credit rating.
This number has called our house 19 times since October 16, 2007. Left message to call the 800#, when I called they were looking for my son. My son said he has taken their call and the were trying to get him to upgrade his credit card his bill wasn't due for three weeks. But since I took the call, the last 10 calls or so from them they have been hanging up if my wife or I answer the phone.
Discover collections. Weird call because they just said, 'call 1-800-blah-blah' and didn't idenify themselves.
the male voice said to call 1-888-???-????. He said it so fast and only once so I did not have time to write it down. I have just (1 hour ago) cancelled my account with them.
Looking for someone with same last name. did not give a reason - said that person "referred" me and theywanted a phone number. Very obvious they were fishing for info - did not say "collections" but now that makes sense
Don't know who it was, but if was Discover Card they are calling at the same time my payment was memo posting at my bank. So...who knows?
