It does not matter if your on the do not call list! Surveys, charities, and political, and people not selling you anything can call all they want get your facts straight or shut up!

When you get dead air is when the auto dialer is connecting to you and if you wait for a response someone will answer its not some conspiracy to find out when your home, its computer lag! If you don't know what your talking about you should not talk! The more times you open your mouth the more opportunities you have of putting your foot in it!

Western Wats is the largest survey company in the united states and all the surveys are confidential to both parties! Big companies, political groups and market research firms hire them to get important public views! Most of the employees are college students trying to make ends meet so if you care at all about other peoples lives and not just your own you will take the time to answer the 5-15 min. survey and help them and their family make a living, not waste their time and cost the pay raises! Being a human being is not too hard!
called me at 6:13PM on 7-06-08 from Provo, UT. The caller ID listed the time and number, but no message was left on the answering machine.

Its turns out that western watts is a survey group all tjhey do is ask you survey questions, they have a website westernwatts.com you can e-mail them if you never want to be called gain.

I hope that helps to clear up the mystery of who is cluttering up your phone's caller log. Yes it is very annoying that they block their outgoing caller-ID, but that's not the fault of the poor young people working as phonejockeys. Don't take your frustration out on the people who call, because they're already frustrated themselves. If they had any career prospects right now, then they wouldn't be slaving away on the phones for a pittance over minimum-wage. Most are students who couldn't give a darn about what survey they are carrying out, and this type of work makes them develop a pretty thick skin, pretty quickly. They develop what I call "personality callouses" so any foul language you might hurl at them just washes right off (and your rant will likely be recorded anyway, so don't be a jerk!)
On a sidenote to Western Wats: why don't you change your outgoing caller-ID to say "survey" instead of "unavailable"? If I see "unavailable" on an unknown incoming call, there's just Zero Chance that I'm going to pick up. But if I see "survey" then I get the option to decide whether I'm not too busy to answer a few questions. I'm betting that you only get a few "hits" per 1,000 placed calls. If your caller-ID said "survey" then I'd bet that you'll double or triple your number of "hits".
I received a call from this number on my cell, didn't recognize it, so I looked it up. Now that I see it is Western Watts I have no concerns. Western Watts is a completely reputable company. They do phone surveys for market research companies on a number of topics. They do not have to honor the DNC list because they are not selling you anything. They are only interested in your opinions or your experience. (And, no I do not work for them - just trying to correct some of the misperceptions)
Got a call today, Sunday at 420pm. Did not answer. My caller ID indicated "Wireless Caller" but the 801 made me think it was a telemarketing call or worse. Let A/M pick up. No message. They've been calling frequently this week.

Thanks to all of you who've posted on this problem. I can tell you that I'm a frequent Jiffy Lube customer(3vehicles every 90 days)and this is something relatively new. They are seriously trying to improve thier customer service experience and create a universal customer franchise brand(they're spending millions to evaluate every single franchise store nationwide). I just wish they'd ask permission from the customers to participate in this additional annoyance.

Received two calls from them today, called my cellphone and left no message.
Got a call from 801-623-4628 on 12/2. Caller ID said "Unavailable." No message. Also got a call on 12/1 from 801-623-4630, same thing. We are on the DNC list.
801-623-4628 & 801-623-4629 has Called my house phone. When I said hello there was someone on the line but no reponse. When reverse phone numbered it it came up as a cell phone based in Provo, UT. Registered Povider is **Cricket.com** "Detailed information not available." When I called the number back the woman who recorded it said "watts Survey." I don't like surveys so I have blocked the numbers from calling in and will continue to do so.
Said they were doing survey on how satisfied people are with their bank. Very fishy. Do not give out info to them. Lied about not having to honor the do not call list.
Called twice this evening...I did get a message for the second call but it was too faint to hear exactly what was said.
