Very annoying to be working in my home office, have to get up walk across the house to answer the phone, just to pick it up and have had these idoits call and be nobody at the other end.

Update to my post right above this one. As I was laying my baby down they called again at 8:18pm. This time my husband answered and told them to stop calling.

Caller ID says Western Wats. They called on Oct. 1 at 7:39pm and again at 7:55pm. I guess they thought we would be home in 15 minutes. This better be the last time calling tonight because my baby will be going to bed soon and I don't want annoying calls from them all night waking her up.

It does not matter if your on the do not call list! Surveys, charities, and political, and people not selling you anything can call all they want get your facts straight or shut up!

When you get dead air is when the auto dialer is connecting to you and if you wait for a response someone will answer its not some conspiracy to find out when your home, its computer lag! If you don't know what your talking about you should not talk! The more times you open your mouth the more opportunities you have of putting your foot in it!

Western Wats is the largest survey company in the united states and all the surveys are confidential to both parties! Big companies, political groups and market research firms hire them to get important public views! Most of the employees are college students trying to make ends meet so if you care at all about other peoples lives and not just your own you will take the time to answer the 5-15 min. survey and help them and their family make a living,

I got silence when i picked up the phone also. When I called the number back, i found out it was a survey company. My standard routine now for survey companies is that I don't answer questions for free. How much are they paying, generally shuts them up.

I see there is already 747 calls reported on this number. I guess I'm 748. This number has called me 3 times this evening and I'm on the no call list with ALL my numbers. Anyone have an idea who or what this call is about?

This company called me at 9:42 PM. I was sound asleep and awaken by the phone ringing. Usually when the phone rings that late at night it means something bad has happened, so I answered the phone in a panic and half asleep state. Imagine my response when they asked me to take a survey. I filed a complaint against this company with the Utah BBB and also emailed them asking to be removed from their list. Thank you to everyone here who supplied information to deal with this company.

Called last night, but only rang twice. Showed up as WESTERN WAT.

Twice now; unwanted and unsolicited calls from this same number. On Nationwide phone block. Harassment. I wasn't home either time they called so I don't know what they're "line" is.

I called the 801 number. A recording comes on stating "Western Watts". It tells the caller they are taking a survery...but don't state for what...Then refer you to a website.

Got a calls at my home. The caller ID showed Western Watts. Did some googling and found this westernwats.com. They arte basically a data collection/survey research company. The website seems to be straight forward and includes a number to call and email to be removed their lists:

Called me regarding a "short survey in my area regarding car insurance".

Asked to speak to the head of the house hold.

Sounded like a computerized person, like a robot....like Mr. Hawking, the dude with the computerized voice.

I told them I am not interested and to add this number to their do not call list.

I am in the Do Not Call Registry, so I don't know what the hell they called me for, but obviously, we have auto insurance in this house, so perhaps that is the "hole" that allows them to call us...but either way, I've requested removal, they should accept it.

First time seeing Western Wats caller though.

These people called using the identical script as FutureMartTE (usually calling from 361-992-3033. They claim to be a research company which gets them around the "do not call registry." Their real game is to "interview" you to gather information they can then sell the information to telemarketers who can then claim previous business with you. Whether or not they are using the loophole, these calls should be reported to the FCC since they can be considered harassment from unwanted and unsolicited telephone calls, particularly since in my case they call in the evening and even on Sundays.

I went to their website & asked to be removed.Calls still coming two weeks later.People,DO NOT talk to them!They will claim a "business relationship" based on that conversation , and never stop calling you.

Calls started about 2 months ago. At first it was "unknown", rings 4 times. When answered no one responds. Received a call this evening from a company called Western Watt or something like that. They were representating AARP and surving there members. The person on the line, a lady, was very sarcastic, annoying and rude.

I was about ready to hang up on her when she would not listen to what I was saying but I did take the survey. I won't do that again. AARP needs to take a look at the company's they hire to run there surveys. This company was a poor example of what AARP stands for.

Next time they call I will hang up on them. I don't need to talk to sarcastic people like her, especially when they represent a great organazation like AARP.

FYI: Caller ID displayed 1-801-437-3150 CCI Communications. Hung up on me twice today when I answered phone.

Wait a minute this is the same number as CCI Communication who also has been calling constantly -- 2 to 3 times a day. Like I said, never answered the phone when I don't recognize the called -- but, again, it is so annoying -- and I'm on the Do Not Call registry!!

Caller ID shows this company name, has called off and on and when they start calling, they call every day, twice a day!! I've never answered the phone but it does get annoying!!

Called on my Voip line which is technically considered wireless therefore violating the TCPA of 1991. Survey call on behalf of western wats, an Outsourced Outfit. I only talk to Americans. I told the indian lady that I would report their calls to the FCC, and She was aware that they were not allowed to contact cell phones.

I have gotten a phone call from this number twice now in the past two days. It will ring for a couple seconds and then stop. Both days it was right around 7:00pm and I have no idea who this is and will not answer the phone to them.

I received a call from this number today. I called them back and it is to Western Watts research Company. They do a lot of surveys on many different topics. The call came in at 8:55:34 p.m. CST. Today's date is 1/30/08. Kansas.

I have Selective Call Rejection service from my telco, so I added them to my reject list. May a camel with diarreha defecate in their ice cream.

Got two calls from this number today (12/23/07)for the first time. They left only vmails, asking for "head of the house" and "...hello, hello, is anybody on the line?". Thanks to this and other blogs that resulted from my Google search of 801.437.3150, I now know "who it is". They'll never get a human answering this residence line since we always screen our calls and/or turn the ringers off at night, so they are free to sit there for all eternity and talk to my friendly German voicemail. Sounds like a bunch of stupid idiots who need a real life.

If you "opt-out" on their website, you could be setting yourself up for MORE CALLS! Sometimes companies do that to find out which phone numbers are good ones. Best to not answer. If they call odd hours report them to the BBB and unplug your phone at night. That's what I do!

Just switched recently to t-mobile and started getting these calls. I've picked-up a couple times, but no one responds on the other end. Is t-mobile picking-up the minutes for these calls??? I'm going to call t-mobile to complain.

I received a call from this number today at 1541 CST. The caller ID showed CCI COMM. I answered it and a woman grumbled her name and asked for the male of the household (I despise these calls). 3 calls over the past week. Traced back the number to Western Wats. Reading the responses, they "research" just about any topic. Mine was some general banking survey.

This is an independant research firm. And very annoying. Unfortunately I don't think they have to adhere to the same guidelines regarding the do not call list as telemarketers do. I was rather hatefully told that they are not in sales or telemarketing, that they are just conducting a survey and want my opinion. That to me is still solicitation and unwanted in my house. Anyway, I ended up having to ask them to just not call me again and told them I was not interested. Whether or not the calls will stop, I do not know. This is the first time they called me today.

My caller I.D. said "private caller" & I did not recognize the number so I let my machine pick up the call. They left no message. This is the 3rd time they have called this weekend. I do not answer for anyone who does not identify themselves on my caller I.D.

I just received a call from this company tonight. If you call the number back, you receive a voice recording that the company is Western Wats. They do surveys for manufacturers, service providers, and politicians. Considering that it is October 2007, the survey is probably related to politics and political issues.

If I answer the phone for a number that I don't recognize I tell them that I am the babysitter. Well I answered the phone and did my thing and told them that I would be home after 8 (acting as the sitter). They ended up calling back about 10 mins later. There's nothing we can do about this outfit. "Surveys", as well as politicians and charitable organizations, are exempt from the DNC list.

This is a call from Western Wats. They are a survey company for manufacturers. If you call back it says to visit westernwats.com. You can go there and request they stop calling you. They also state they are exempt from the do not call list because they are not selling anything.

Called on 9/15 at 6:21pm. If I remember correctly, this was a survey about Lead-based paint and how mfgs (who used to) make it were being sued by city/state govt's and how I felt about different statements.

They have called everynight now for the past few nights. Last night they left a message, the guy even left his name but was hard to make out because of his accent. The message got erased before I had a chance to right down the name and company. He said it was for some survey. When I see those numbers I don't answer the phone.

They've only called me two or three times spanning a two month time frame. I've never picked it up, and they never leave messages.

Picked up the call - was for some "survey" about beauty produdcts. The marketing callers are now doing subversive stuff like getting you to agree to a simple "no sales pitch" survey - that way they can legally call and harrass you later because they had "legitimate" business with you in the past, and they are non reportable... unless you tell them to get lost and remove you from their call list immediately, before you agree to do the survey.!!

Countless calls with no messages left on answering machine. Call multiple times a day.

I wouldn't chance the advice to visit their website, I prefer to report to the Do Not Call List as a safe measure.

I got the same call today as everyone else. I answered and there was noone there. I looked for more information and found they are located in Orem, UT (near Provo). To have your name removed you can call 801-373-7735. Then press 2 when it asks for the extension. You can then leave a message with your number too be removed.

They just called today and didn't leave a message. We thought maybe it was family in Utah, but we asked around and no one had that number. So I googled it and found this site. Cool! I think when they call again, I will turn on my fax machine. That should get rid of them. Strangely, an unknown number also called us at 5am! It scared the crap out of me because my sister-in-law is in the hospital with a severe infection and I thought someone was calling to tell us bad news. >:( Fortunately she's OK, but they woke me up and it made me mad.

P.s. The Do Not Call List only applies to solicitation calls. This company does not want you to buy anything, and was most likely hired by your bank, oil company, financial service company, or a political party. It is national, and is not only located in Utah (thought that is their main office) If you do not want to be contacted by this company, go to their website westernwats.com and email the company and request to be placed on their internal do not call list. You do not need to resort to threats, just simply ask to be placed on it and they will happily oblige.

No one wants to call irrate, crotchety people.

This is a market research firm. It is completely legitimate. They cannot leave a message because they are an outbound line and have to way for you to call back. They are only calling for a survey. There is no legitimate legal action that can be taken against this company.

They called me a few days ago and I was not comfortable with giving out info about my banking over the phone like that. They have tried calling three times since then. They just called a few moments ago (after 11 pm EST) and I picked up to find out why in the world they were calling so late. It seemed goofy to me because the lady seemed to be using a phony voice. She said that they wanted to get a better representation of different areas at different times. I told her it was ridiculous and she hung up.

Received a call from this infamous 801 number AGAIN. This time, it came at 3pm on 7/24 & I answered it. The operator announced herself as calling from Synovate Research on behalf of Capital One credit cards. No hassle my assle! I told her she was calling a cell phone & that I recognized Synovate as being a research company and told her that marketing calls are prohibited to be placed to cell phones. Got 2 calls so far - show up as CCI COMM. 1st call left a partial message - "This is Sean from (garbled??) -would like to talk to the adult in the house that was recently released from the hospital." Then it cut off. Called today with no message. (Since my daughter was the "patient" I wouldn't have let her talk anyway.)Thanks for the info. (I also see that they have called us before, so I'm not sure what they wanted then as no one has been in the hospital before.)

I received a call from this number today - no message - tried to call it back and it just tells me that 'all circuits are busy'. The company is Mountain West Research and they can be reached at 208.232.1818. The Director's name is Jared Shears - his cell number is 208.317.3263 - you can call him and harrass him back!! I would also advise filing a complaint with the BBB. No one else has yet.

Damn this company. Donotcall list doesn't work. Stupid government, supreme court. etc. I am sick of living in America. I will emigrate sooner.

They called 3 times, my caller ID callwave picked up the number. Called the number back and a recorded message said they were Western Watts and that took surveys that helped politicans. It then said to go to westernwatts.com for more info. They are an annoying survey company I guess.

Called twice - Sat. in the evening and Sun. in the morning. Looks like I'll get more.

These people contact me a few times a day. Every time it is with a different number. I did email them to opt out. We'll see if it works!

Woman asked if she could talk to a registared voter. I said "no one fits that criteria here" She said, can I talk to someone over 18? I said "I am over 18". She said, are you registared to vote? I said, "I just told you NO" She said, can I please have your credit card information.. I gave it to her quickly. She hung up. (Just kidding on the last part)

As soon as I received my new phone, I started getting calls from this number. When I answer, no one was there.

This is a politically oriented survey (they say at the beginning that it isn't a telemarketing call or that they wish you to buy something.) Both surveyor and supervisor are polite, but the survey lasts 30 minutes or longer--its content seems to be Republican oriented. Advice: don't take this survey. They ask very personal questions and they won't disclose later the aggregate results (this is an ethical requirement in human subject research). The supervisor told me their company only authorized them to say, the results would appear in "leading magazines." (Company is Western Research)

I have recived 2 calls from them today. It's now 7.45pm PAC time. Just wanted to let you guys know, I do work for a Charity call center. If they call you before 8am and after 9pm its illegal. I don't care whom you are your not allowed to call past 9pm your local time. If there calling you after the 9pm deadline, let them know that your A really upset, B your going to report it to the BBB and FCC (yes we report the the FCC) and you have recorded the time, and date on your land line / cell phone, do not call again, and hang up.

Our center will NOT call past 6pm local time (Local to the person we are calling) because we actually care about the people we are calling!

They keep calling me too. It appears to be a survey company. Surveyors are exempt from the Do Not Call list. Your best bet would be to answer it and tell them to remove you from the list.

Polling firm doing political poll, in my case for the race for Congress in my District.

Man named Roman w/ a foriegn (Russian?) accent but very fluent in English. Asked if I would participate in a survey...I obliged if they weren't too personal. A series of questions from computer usage at work and home to websites visited to opinions on Microsoft software. Then he offered $20 for the second part of the interogation which entailed him e-mailing me something to set up a password and downloading attachments or links on my home PC. At that stage, I informed him that I was unaware of his credentials and that was something that I would not be able to comply with. He thanked me and said "have a good day". Was not trying to sell anything.

However this private caller is, they have called 4 times this evening, 1/2 hr intervals.
Were also on the national do not call list. call dates have been 9/13,14,15 hours have been between 5 and 9 pm

Just had a go round with another marketing company- Pacific Market Research (calls from 425-282-5526/call them at 4252712300)to get them to leave me alone after 2 weeks of nonstop calls. Within 3 hours, this company starts calling.
As I am typing this, they have called again. Spoke to their rep and gave him an earful and then some. Let's see if I get off of this list. Both companies deny being related but its a little fishy to me. They do get uptight when I talk about the AG, BBB, and a harrassment complaint with the police.

The first Anonymous call came Sunday night, Aug 20, around 8. There was nobody on the other end when I answered the phone. When I returned from work on Monday, that number (and Anonymous ID)was again on my Caller ID, and there was also a message on my ans machine: "Please put the male member of the household on the phone." I checked with my phone company on how to block calls from Anonymous callers, and I "thought" I'd blocked calls from that number. About an hour later another call came from that number, with nobody on the other end. Really annoying.

We have had three calls from this number. Two on August 16th and one on August 17th. The woman who called on August 17th did not have a good mastery of American spoken English as she struggled with the questions and she did not have basic info on US Geography because she also struggled with the pronunciation of both "Missouri" and "St. Louis". We are on both the National No Call List and the Missouri No Call List. I would be more than happy to contact the Missouri Attorney General, Jay Nixon!

Now that I know what they are I'll answer ONE call and tell them to take me off their list or be reported! You could definitely file a complaint against this business through the Better Business Bureau. Since the company is located in Utah, the best and fastest way to do so is on the website of the Bureau serving Utah, utah.bbb.org, as your complaint will be sent immediately to the company, Western Wats, on our letterhead. We would ask the company to provide us with a response to your complaint. We would give them 30 days to do so and once we get a response, we would send that right to you.

called 5 times today alone...when answered, they said they were from some research center, surveying people about financial institutions. The other times they left no message. I am on DNC list

They have called our home 5 times since July 25th with 2 of them within 2 hours of each other today (July 31st). We have privacy manager and it is not blocking them and are also on the national do not call list.

The caller ID comes through as CCI Comm. We live in Michigan

I'm in WA State, 98310...got 3 calls from this number on Sat., July 29th, about 2 hours apart. Caller ID showed the #, I didn't answer, & they left no message. Still very annoying--yet ANOTHER anonymous caller I must add to my blocked list--which continues to grow, even tho I've been on the DNC list from the beginning!

This is Watt's Surveyor's. They call constantly and are so annoying.

Addendum to my earlier message. Check my phone call log. The last call was number six from CCI. It was just the first one where I was home to see it.

Got a call from CCI COMM. I didn't answer and let my answering machine take it. They left no message. Decided to investigate the number. It's apparent from the feedback that this is a extreme abuser of telemarketing. I immediately registered a complaint on DNC as I'm the DNC list. I hope the gov eventually gets serious about offenders.

called 11:35am today and came up blocked name. i reversed numbered it in white pages, says from utah and i found this site and call blocked them

1-3 calls per day. Started as UNKNOWN CALLER with no number, but now displays PRIVATE NAME with number 801-437-3150. Have installed PhoneTray (phonetray.com) which will answer select calls/numbers with message of your choice (you need a modem). Blaring the "phone has bee disconnected" tone in their ear is supposed to prompt the computer or person calling to remove the number from their list/database. Also found this, for those of you suffering excessive abuse at the hands of these buggers:

Telemarketers must ensure that predictive dialers abandon no more than three percent of all calls placed and answered by a person. We get calls during dinner every night from this number. I do not answer calls during dinner. Tonight they called three times between 5:30 and 7:00 pm. Very annoying.

These people are getting annoying. Told them I don't want to take part in their survey. They keep calling, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. Gonna do some research, find out who the phone service provider is and go after them that way. I wonder if they are violating the terms of service for their provider.

this calls all the time, never leaves a message. We never ever pick up the phone for anything or anyone we do not recognize. Anyone legitimate leaves a message. But they call you constantly, during dinner time, at 9 pm and such. We will have to get call blocking besides call screening.
