Hang up call. Why call if yourmmachinemhangs up?

July 2nd, 2013 TimF BC Canada

Received a five second no speaking voicemail, it sounded like the call-center typing/voices in the background and then a click hangup from CID: Utah, Ph# 801-377-7003 @ 6:13 PM, 2013 July 01. If this is a USA survey company why are they calling me in BC Canada?

Some kind of survey. They're in Utah. I'm in Michigan. I told them, "I don't participate in surveys." Hopefully, that will be the end of it.

Same number called and identified themselves as KCS and were doing a radio station survey. "For the purpose of categorising can we have your age?"
Told them "I don't wish to participate."
They said "Thank you" and hung up.
I then blocked their number.
I am on the Canadian DNC List, and these lists do not extend across the borders.
I would like to know why a company in Utah is interested in what radio station I listen to in Canada.

Smells like a scheme. I suspect they are trying to mine personal information.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker or something like Nomorobo.
