Comment on calls from 800-959-1373

Ok, So after reading a few of these coments it struck me that the guy calling from HSBC phone number-#8009591373
had informed me during the phone conversation that my account had been closed. He was calling to offer me a really good deal, granted it sounded good. Although he never once stated "this call was being recorded like all the others do. I was informed my account was still within HSBC services ('in house'). After an account gets closed I thought closed accounts got sold to third party collection handlers. He told me they were located in naveda and there was 2 hr difference in time as well as outbound calls only, you can never call dialing an extension number for a certain agent. I think its odd that they push such a big factor of safety/ beware of fraud crap on us yet some companies wont allow collection agents the benifit of scoring bonus payment of a client that returned THE agents persuasion pitch (sry im a bad speller). It must suck to actually work hard for a payment solution and then not get the credit when recovered the goal (art).

2010-07-19 14:18:42 UTCMarbran

This is HSBC (in my case, for Best Buy.) My account payments are current, but Best Buy reduced my limit at some point in the past. Recently, a deferred interest purchase expired and the resulting interest took my account over the limit. Now they are pressuring me to pay down the account to below the limit, rather than just raise the limit to match the balance. I don't lose sleep over it, though. I have hired a debt manager to take care of everything for me.

HSBC......Kawasaki Good Times Card.

2010-04-06 16:10:22 UTCDS

If the cost of both needed and wanted items in today's times would come way down from their sky-rocketed level, people wouldn't rely on using credit cards to obtain them! People feel they're working hard enough and should be able to buy these things, but their skimpy paychecks might not allow them to. So if employers would pay people what they're worth rather than have the nerve to pay people in these highly expensive times a pathetic minimum wage, then people wouldn't have to use credit cards! Also, if employers wouldn't be so god damn picky about who they hire, focus more on the individual than the competition they're trying to beat (nobody beats nobody anyhow, it's all one big circus), jobs would be easy to get FOR EVERYONE regardless of how perfect they acted on the interview!!!! I blame these very reasons for why people are in debt and unable to pay their bills... it's because of greed and distrust! Creditors: keep adding late payment and over the limit fees onto people's accounts and you'll really never get your money! It's bad enough people can't pay back what they borrowed, do you really think they're going to pay better if you add onto that balance? And if you make it hard for people to get jobs because of bad credit, HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT TO GET YOUR MONEY IF THEY CAN'T WORK???????????????????????????????????????????

2010-04-06 13:57:03 UTCDS

I agree that they should put a stop on credit card accounts rather than accumulate late and
over the limit fees to get the person to owe more money beyond what they actually borrowed.
And yes, they should realize we are in a recession! I haven't been able to find work, or a job
that would pay me enough to pay my bills and still be able to pay for the roof over my head and
food I eat! What they should do is be more understanding of reality, and give people a second chance if they missed a payment. But since they are unforgiving and unforgetting, any logical person would feel once they've f'd up they've f'd up and it doesn't matter how hard they try to scrape up money to pay them, their credit still has bad marks on it that'll won't benefit them when they need it later!
Anyhow, I'd like to know how this HSBC bypassed my VIP ringing feature on optimum to get through to my line? WHO THE HELL ARE THEY AND WHAT POWER DO THEY HAVE TO GET INTO PEOPLE'S PRIVACY? DO THEY LISTEN IN ON PHONE CONVERSATIONS ALSO?

This is HSBC "RETAIL" CREDIT SERVICES, trying to get one to pay on ones Account. And for me, that is on my "HP Home & Home Office Account".
This has nothing to do with HSBC CREDIT CARD SERVICES.
And HSBC will not work with anyone about there Issue, as I have been tring for over a year!!!!!!!!!!!

2009-11-06 19:28:56 UTCGrandpa

This apparent collection agency has been harrassing me at home for several months claiming I owe an unpaid credit card bill to the now defunct Gottchalks department store. I have written them several times demanding to see a purchase receipt WITH MY SIGNATURE ON IT. So far they have done nothing but continue to send bills with escalating charges and then call my home several times a day but refusing to give their company name or reason for calling.

If it's so damn important, why are you robocalling this person at their place of work?

HSBC--Best Buy Credit card is who it is--dirtbags

2009-08-27 23:55:09 UTCAshley

I have been receiving calls from these a**holes for about 3 weeks now! I get calls starting as early as 7am and as late as 10pm. The first week I was getting called every 30min to an hour. Here on the third week they've slowed down to every 4 or 5 hrs....I guess cuz I have been ignoring their calls as soon as I see it on my caller I.D...I mean I do have a best buy credit card BUT was only "1" f**kin day late and sent the payment the next day. I'm just so pissed off that I'm continuing to get these harassing calls!?!? Ima just try my best to keep ignoring the calls until they get the f**kin "HINT" that I'm not going to answer their calls no matter how many times they call me.....>= (

2009-08-18 19:52:39 UTCMad Lady

Today I started receiving a call every hour from this number. My philosophy is...."if it's important, leave me a darn message"! Anyway, if it is Best Buy, they are calling about a balance less than $75, and I have NOT received my statement in the mail. Hmmmm....pick your battles and get a life.

2009-05-29 04:28:34 UTCChuyck

I told these DIPS to Stop calling us this morning. Since then we've received another 6 calls. They are being reported to the FTC

2009-05-24 17:00:27 UTCJack

Take the phone calls, an file a harrassment complaint with your state Attorney General Office, they deal with people like HSBC & Best Buy I would bet the calls will stop, what do you have to lose,Try it...The Federal trade commission
also frown on harrassment calls.File a complaint....they both have a website....

2009-05-14 20:08:25 UTCB

They are STILL calling this person at work.

2009-05-13 13:54:38 UTCB

Recording that said "We have an important call for you, all our operators are busy..." That's a hang up for me. The next time they call for this employee I think I'll let them know that they got fired because of the incessant credit card calls.

2009-05-12 23:02:28 UTCVickie

Darn Best Buy! I think I will start calling them at all hours of the day!!!!!!! Were in a recession people, you would think that they would give you time to pay the bill ! I think all credit cards, etc. should just freeze the accounts that are past due.....and when this recession is over then they can get thier darn money. My Mother bought a stand up freezer from them and in a year and a half it went out. With only a one year warranty.
This time they went and bought another one and paid the 129.99 for a five year warranty. NEVER buy at Best Buy.

2009-05-12 20:44:49 UTCB

They keep calling for an employee, I keep voicemailing it. They shouldn't be bothering this person at work. This is why I never put my work number on my credit cards. Or I give 'em a fake one. Your area code plus 867-5309 usually works every time.

2009-05-11 22:37:47 UTCVickie

Pretty sure its Best Buy. On day late and they call constantly ! Sometimes up to 15 calls a day!!!! I am ready to tell them where to shove it ! I think they are a collection company for other companies also that are related to credit card accounts.

2009-05-07 13:42:57 UTCBrad

It is from HSBC they are calling about being late on credit cards.

2009-04-29 19:48:45 UTCL

I have no account with them and they wont beleive that im not the person they are looing for. They keep calling the more you talk to them the more they call you. I have got 37 calls from them today alone.

2009-04-23 16:34:26 UTCCole

These stupid people call everyday and I dont even have an account with them, they wont stop calling though. Exactly the reason Im changing my number and switching carriers, by the way dont buy T-Mobile because they charge a bs 15$ fee to change your number even if you continualy recieve these calls they wont waive it

2009-04-04 00:32:55 UTCBryan

This is the collection department for HSBC. They will start calling if you are one day late on a payment. It's all legit even though they are annoying...lol. They annoyed me enough the first time. No more interest from me, I payed it off and told them their personnel were the reason for cancelling the account!!

2009-03-22 17:04:39 UTCAR

I have the same problem as Evelyn. 8009591373 and 8003656538 are CONSTANTLY calling. sometimes every hour. It starts as early as 8 am even on a Sunday. They NEVER leave a message. It's rediculous!!!!

QUIT CALLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR LOOKING FOR CHRISTINA WILLIAMS AND SHE DOESNT OWN THIS PHONE

2009-01-19 23:56:18 UTCEvelyn

These are the two non stop numbers that come up on my caller ID like every 2 hours even at 8am on a Sunday morning with by law is illegal! I am not late on my Best Buys charge card what so ever and this harrassment is making me want to call the local news station after reading all these complaints here and file a media complaint and a lawsuit after them! Watch these two numbers they use and then they go to CALLER UNKOWN when these dont work!18003656538 and 18009591373. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is getting harrassed by these people!

2009-01-19 00:16:15 UTCJim

I have been getting harassing phone calls from this number.

They claim they are a "credit card company" that I owe an outstanding balance to.

This is a scam.

I keep getting calls from them. I called back the 800-959-1373 number after weeks of these phone calls, only to find out it's my ex giving my phone number out! She says she can't take my number off his account, but can suspend the calls for five days while I try to get ahold of my ex...grrrr! I'm guessing he's been behind on his Best Buy card...

2008-12-31 18:07:08 UTCKJL

I have an on-going dispute with Best Buy/HSBC. I may take them to small claims court. Please check with your state attorney general, but in California, you can request to have no more calls from them and correspond only in writing. You will need to do this in writing.

2008-12-19 17:43:52 UTCLotus

They keep calling and calling. I called them back it's HSBC

2008-12-07 17:40:09 UTCBrad

There really starting to piss me off I dont bank with them or have any accounts and they will not quit calling me!! I have even cussed these idiots!

They call every day, four or five times a day. If you answer, they ask for your name, but won't tell you who they are before you verify that you are who they are calling for. If you refuse to answer their questions until they tell you who they are, they ignore you asking them who they are and repeat themselves. If you ignore their call, they hang up when they get your voicemail or leave a voicemail that says: "hello. hello. hello?" and then hang up. They even started calling other members of my family that I don't even live with and they do the same thing to them. They ignored my family's requests to never be called again at that number. The number they called that was my family members was never even on my account. So obviously they are going through the phonebook of something. I'm assuming all of this because I was literally a couple days late on a f-ing payment.... I am guessing, because I STILL don't know who this was harassing me.

Between the hours of 8am and 9pm, these people have called me more than once an hour for four days straight!!! After a few days of them not leaving messages, I finally answered a few calls tonight. The first time I answered, I could hear people laughing in the background but no one spoke to me, even though I held for some time cause I wanted to be removed from their stupid list!!! The second time, the guy asked for a guy named David. I asked to be taken off the list and the guy hung up on me!!! The third time, a woman asked for David. I asked to be taken off the list again and she said OK, but I don't believe her!

This number used to call constantly. Last month, I called them back, emailed them, and told them to knock it off. It stopped for about a month, then two calls today. We do have a cc with Best Buy, but the guy I talked to said it's current (duh, I knew that...balance is less than $200) and there is nothing in the system under any phone number I gave him for another account. He wa actually very nice and said that he would put another note in the system for them to quit calling me, but we'll see if they really do...

Called my cell 3 times with two different numbers while I was at work. Got an automated message about an important call and to please hold for an available operator. I hung up twice then set my phone to reject the number. They called again. No message left on voicemail.

They called my house 14 times one day. Sometimes every hour or so and sometimes every 15-20 min. When I finally picked up the phone, they apologized for the inconvenience because the account had been brought up to date two weeks ago. Rediculous!

I have received multiple calls from this number - 10 yesterday alone. I have no HSBC account, no Best Buy account - no store credit card of any kind, and I don't owe anyone any money, so it's clearly a mistake. When I called the number back I was told my phone number was NOT in the system, so there was nothing that could be done. wtf?? The next call, I answered, and the person asked for someone not at my number. When I said so, and began to ask them to remove my number, they hung up on me. Great. So I call the number back, and get a woman with a thick Indian accent who suggests I change my number and proceeded to insult me. When I asked for her name and supervisor, she hung up on me. I have gotten nowhere with these rude presumptuous idiots, and I'm not sure what to do.

THey will call me every 5 minutes over and over if I hang up on them. When I finally take the call just to get them to leave me alone, I asked for their name and the guy was very reluctant to give it to me. He kept demanding to know if J---- Camp--- lived there. It wasn't any of his business who lived at my house, because I did not give them permission to call me and am on do not call list. I asked for their phone number and he didn't want to give it--kept changing the subject. I finally told them that they had wrong number and not to EVER call me again.

Now if am learning from this complaint site that many others also get calls from them and they also are called with this company requesting to speak to someone who doesn't live there. They also make you hold in silence for a while before being connected, and I am wondering if they are somehow connecting their computers to your phone line to spy on you.

It is harrassment to call over and over and not have peace until you speak to them, even though you are on don't call list. I think a class action suit would be nice. How do you find a lawyer who would do that?? WHere do you begin??

I have counted the calls. They are coming in 14 times a day 7 days a week. They never leave a message when they go to voicemail. I have tried returning the call but I always get the "Please hold for the next rep..." comment. I don't know what they are thinking but if they want me to speak to someone they better have a live person on the other end of the line when they call, not an automated holding system. I do not know why they keep calling because I'm not late on any of my credit cards. This is down right harrassment!!!

2008-02-23 16:32:52 UTCDaddy-O

All day long... Starting at 8:04AM til 10:00PM. Sometimes will call 20 seconds after the previous call. Number indicates "Unknown Name" - "Unknown Number" Didn't know who it is until I researched and wound up here. I don't use credit cards for this particular reason.

I have answered a few calls and they will not say who they are... They ambush me with questions that I refuse to answer and won't let me get a word in edge-wise. Now I mess with them, speaking in other languages. One time they transfered me to someone who spoke Spanish... That's when I started speaking German.

Now I can have some fun with speaking multiple languages! Great Fun! :-)

Received a call from this number. Let it go to voice mail since it was on my cell. Called back and got some retard who wouldn't tell me who they were looking for. Asked for an account, I didn't have one, obviously. He asked for my phone number, which I gave, then he asked my name, but it didn't match who they were calling for. He refused to tell me who they need to speak to, and said that I had to wait until I get another call to see who they want, then inform them that they have a wrong number. ?!? Let's just eliminate that step altogether, tell me who you want and I'll tell you to quit calling. Nope. Now I get to wait for more freaking phone calls from these idiots.

2008-02-13 00:48:08 UTCjizzy

my caller id always identify these whores as "toll free svc" whatever the hell that is. sometimes but seldom anymore they leave a message and
identify themselves as "nco group". For those just qetting acquanted with these sons of whores the bad news is the are persistent to the point of harrasment. My caller Id shows they call at least 5 or 6 times a day and this has been going on for at least 2 friggin years. Lately Im actually having fun messing with them back. when they computer generated call comes in just tap the phone and it will think someone is on and causes a rep to actually try to talk to you. I make them take the call and play music or tv while they keep repeating hello till they finally hang up.
I think I'll finally take one their calls just to get some info and I will start calling them 5 or 6 times a day.
This is a company that is just begging to be fucked with and now I will oblige the sobs. don't get mad get even.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
