Caller ID=DEBT PROTECTION
daily (sometimes twice daily) calls, immediately hang up when asked to be placed on a "Do-not-call" list
Previous attempt to stop these calls have resulted in stopping them short-term only
Purport to be from Bank of America
Yes Bank of America called at 7pm Saturday night computer was online
BANK OF AMERICA SALES CALL FOR DEBT PROTECTION: I TOLD THEM 'NO THANKS' AND THEY STILL CALL EVERYDAY!
unknown....again
It was bank of america. I love their banking services but I DESPISE their telemarking. They call several time a week, even past 9pm sometimes and they will not take us off their telemarketing list. They just hang up on us when we request it or tell us to call some other number. I have considered closing all my bank of america accounts because of this.
Redialed the number and it was about "account protection" services.
Caller ID said "Debt Protection" so I didn't answer. Now put on the blocked list with my Panasonic phone. Now it will ring once and cut them off....love my Panasonic :)
caller ID says the name was debt protection i didnt pick up.
they didnt leave a message,I googled the number it came up as bank of america.
Bank of America. Asked for my brother who recently got an acct with them but, did not give them my number. Strange.
I informed her that he doesn't live here anymore. Still calling...
I have had it with these motherfuckers. 6 calls today and I am now screaming at them when they call. I have a loud whistle next to the phone ready for the next call. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Calling several times a day. Called this morning before 9:00 AM, when I was still in bed. It's a Saturday, give me a break.
left no message, did not asnwer when id showed number
2 calls from this number between 10:10 AM and 11:30 AM today. So annoying. No message, just hangs up.
on caller id it listed the person calling as 1-800-service.
These people called and I answered. Switches clicked, and finally a woman came on asking for someone in the house. I told them they were not avaialable, and what is this about. She would not answer.
never leaves a msg
These retards don't say who they are and keep calling for my brother who doesn't live here anymore. Every time, I tell them he doesn't live here anymore and they say "I'm very sorry" and then they call again the next day.
Never leaves a message. I just don't answer when I see "Unknown" or "Toll Free Call"....Very annoying!!!
Receiving calls for several months .. I blocked the numeric translation of 800-SERVICE and still got calls, on another caller ID phone I see the number, which is different. Several mentions of B of A but I don't recall doing business with them other than they bought out COUNTRYWIDE which I do have accounts with.
Did not leave message
800 943-3022 = Bank of America
This is their telephone-solicitor dialer number,
used to sell various credit card services.
Use Call Blocking,
or get a free Voicemail number to use on forms that you fill out.
When you use your real phone number and/or do business with a company that can look it up, they have the right to call you. In case anyone hasn't figure it out, the Do Not Call List is a colossal waste of money. It is totally useless.
Number came up on call ID at 7:11 pm!!! Didn't recognize #...so of course I didn't answer.
I get calls from 800-943-3022 at least three times a day. Everytime all I do is pickup the phone and then hangup, otherwise, I have to listen to the phone ring and then my voice mail says I have a message and there is never one there. I tried answering it a couple of times only to find no one on the other end.... sure wish I knew how to stop this...
They have called and called and called. We need something to be done about this!!!! It is driving me crazy!!! Any suggestions!!! Please.
Have called everyday for the last week. We don't answer! It has showed up as Unknown on caller ID until today when caller ID showed "Debt Protection"
My caller ID shows this phone number along with "Debt Protection". They are selling credit card protection. They must call five times a day! Since they don't leave a message, they have no business calling me!
I've never answered the phone when this number comes up, but it is bordering on harassment, as often as they call and hang up on the answering machine. Minimum four times a day for the past week.
This is a call center used by credit card institutions to offer card protection plans.
I have been getting 3 calls per day from this number, no message - for weeks. My phone service allows me to block the number of the last incoming call. I think I will avail myself of this feature.
I gave up trying to get this and about a dozen other companies to stop calling. Some call 3 times a day and even on Sundays. I finally went to this website and got their interceptor. I leave one ringer on in the kitchen. If a number that I blocked comes in, that phone won't ring, and my answering machine won't pick up.
I now have peace in my home.
interceptorid.com
bank of america is aware that these callers are scammers, according to a bank of america customer service rep i reported it to.
BANK OF AMERICA WARNS CALLEES TO AVOID TALKING TO THESE PEOPLE.
They keep calling for my son...when I tell them that my son doesn't live here any more they hang up then call the next day, and it's usually someone else making the call. I ask them who's calling and they won't answer, they just hang up.
I'm gettingmore than a call a day minimum from this number and the caller ID is not able to tell me who is this. If this is Bank of America they need to shove their telemarketing scheme. This is DISGUSTING!
this is one of two numbers an unidentified credit card co. and/or bank is offering/soliciting lower credit rates. i will report to dnc list and when i am able to get in touch with them i will cancel any/all accounts i may have with them.
the actual caller/s could be a sales/marketing contractor company that has one of my banks as their client.
I have asked these phone spammers to remove me from their list over a dozen times. Each time they politely assure me that my name has been removed but the next day they calls me back. I have reported them to the Do not call list every time they continue to call. The Government can fine them up to $11,000 for every call they make to you once you have requested that they stop. So if your registered with the Do not call list report them every chance you get. Reports can be made at the Do not call web page.
3 calls today ... when I called back I was referred to their website hospitalsupport.nbchealth.com ... guess what ... nobody home.
This is Bank of America. Nothing can be done...thank Congress for the loophole in the do not call law that lets businesses we're customers of tele-market to us.
Let's all the turn the tables on them, answer the calls and drive them nuts with stupid conversations. Time we had some fun at their expense! We can all use a good laugh!!
I answered with a funny, fake accent and a whimpy voice. They asked for someone else in the house, told them just me, the goats and chickens here. Answered them in one syllable words and tried to sell them some goat cheese, goat meat, fresh killed chicken for dinner, eggs & poop for their garden.
Must have irritated the hell out of them cause they hung up on me. Ah shucks...Pissed them off...Too bad.
And I'll keep right on doing it too for as long as they keep my number in their database and keep bothering me.
Since it was toll free, I called back. First I got the auto voice saying for "Thank you for calling. For English press one; para Espanol blah, blah, blah...."
That just sends me ballistic! MY paternal Grandparents came here and did so LEGALLY and THEY learned ENGLISH and became citizens. And MY HUSBAND's Grandparents...paternal grandparents and maternal Grandmother all came here LEGALLY and THEY learned ENGLISH and became citizens. It's high time this multi-language crap which adds cost to all our bills for every product or service we buy and sucks much needed tax dollars from our municipal school systems that should be being used for the benefit of ALL the students STOPS. Do what thousands of past immigrants did...come here LEGALLY, GET A JOB, BECOME A NATURALIZED CITIZEN or go home, we don't want or need you.
OK...back to the call........after pressing "1", I got the automated message "This phone number was displayed on your caller ID as a result of an offer from your card services institution. You're invited to enroll in an optional account protection plan...."
I only have one card through Bank of America. The Do Not Call Law has a loophole that allows a business you have a "business relationship" with to telemarket to you.
I hate Bank of America, customer by default.
Bank of America in the top 5 for identity theft via theft of their customers' sensitive information due to their less than stellar guarding of the information.
I don't know what this is about, and I don't care. They just keep calling us multiple times a day. I swear it is some kind of phishing scam.
They call at least four to six times a day. I have asked them just today three times to take our number off their list.
this is that annoying company. found their website, address and a person you could call back

Picked up phone but no one said anything for several seconds--probably automated. Called the number back and a recording stated that my number had been selected by my "card services" for a "protection plan offer". The voice never identified the company.
This is a phishing scam! BoA has no record of this # being used legitimately by their company. Plus the woman who called only used my maiden name, asked for me date of birth, called a # BoA doesn't have on file. Do not give anyone who calls from this # any information under any circumstances. Say that you will call the official customer service number that is available on the BoA website.
they keep calling me every day... Did anyone sue them?
It is BOA calling (Bank of America)
Caller ID said Unavailable. Didn't answer, but they left a message. It was someone laughing and then said 'see no evil, hear no evil'. Not sure who it is, but I don't think they realized an answering machine picked up and I heard the tail end of a joke or something.
Numerous calls, twice a day - never leaves a message. Will add to blocked list.
Calls once or twice a day, caller I/D shows "service", leaves no message. I am a Bank of America customer and have now set marketing privacy preferences to no calls, no mail, no emails. We will see what happens. Phone was already on do not call list.
I have 23 calls from this number in the last week alone. No idea who it is.
The caller asked for someone in the house by first name only. I said that person was unavailable and asked who was calling. The caller said, "It's the bank. We'll call back." I doubt it was a bank at 5:45 on a Friday evening. I googled the number and several sources said it was people selling a credit protection plan for Bank of America.
2nd call in 2 days. Automated calling, I answer and say Hello, wait about 5 sec., then a lady comes on saying the is calling on behalf of Bank of America and would I like to pay for their fraud/lost job protection BS. I told them no yesterday and today I told them that if they call again, I will cancel my card.
When are these unsolicited calls going to end?! Caller ID says Debt Protection. Wish there was a way to block these annoying phone calls!
Call from 800-943-3022
They called AGAIN.. everyday.. all different times. .They ask for my husband or hang up. This morning they asked for my husband, then for me and then hung up. I called back..spoke to someone told them to remove my name or i was filing a complaint. i filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney General's office... I sent a notice to LIFELOCk and i emailed Central Indemnity Of Omaha

on hold for 20 minutes. filed a complaint with the dnc registry
called the number back, been on hold for 10 minutes so far. sick of them calling 5 times a day
MBNA trying to sell Credit Protection and Fraud Protection, have called 8 times in two days!!!
They call all the time. "Unavailable" and so am I.
I have been getting at least 3 calls a day from this number. The caller ID comes up as "UNAVAILABLE", but the person on the end of the line invariably identifies themselves at as calling on behalf of BANK OF AMERICA.
Called, did not leave message.
Answered the call, but nothing on the other end.
I answered the call and they are selling credit card protection plans for Bank of America
God damnit, it never ends!
Calls my home daily at least twice a day. Won't leave a message on machine.
Bank of America, called 5 times in the space of 20 minutes. Different operator every time. Said I was going to file a complaint and they hung up on me.
The 1-800 and 1-888 telephone line is being abused and well protected to invade the American privacy. Our country in where the civil service workers to take care of this problem is sleeping, blind and ineffective to work, help and solve this never ending problems in the telephone industry. They are also a part of the problem.
They keep calling but not leaving a message. I was finally home when they called. They were calling on behalf of Bank of America to sell me "protection insurance" in case I lose my job. Funny that they called now since the place I work is laying people off. Do you think the local branh of Bank of America, which gets my direct deposit from my employer, is watching the news and providing a list of people who might be interested due to the impending layoffs???? Hmmmmm....very fishy.
Hey smarty pants. They are exempt if you have a business relationship, but if you request them to stop calling and remove your name and they call again it is a violation of the do not call reg. Once you state you want removed they are not supposed to call again.
I have received a call every other day for at least the last month. I have requested 4 or 5 times to be removed and have received 2 consistant answers. One says that I will be removed in 24 to 72 hrs. The other states they will remove me but can call for up to 3 weeks. Obviously they count keep track of time because both have expired. Filed a complaint through the do no call reg. They told me their company name was CSI Processing LLC.
If this number really is a "death protection plan" then what is that? How exactly are they going to protect me from dying? Maybe I'll pick up next time they call.
BTW: I do NOT have any business with BOA. If any one is interested.
caller id said toll free. they didn't leave message. seems to be bank of america
with some offer.
They called me at 8:22pm but I let the machine pick up and they just hung up, no message.
Bank of America called again today and this time I answered. I told the lady that I keep getting these calls even after I decline the offer every time. She said she wasn't aware of it and will remove my number. I wasn't going to yell at her because she's just a worker doing her job.
As suggested by Bethany in an earlier comment, I went to the Privacy section on the Bank of America website and opted out of marketing phone calls and emails.
I cant stand them calling all the time.
Every couple months, Bank of America calls and pitches the same old crap about this credit monitoring service, and everytime I decline. Well, this week they called 3 days in a row while I was sleeping!
Called everyday since my last post. And yes, even Saturday & Sunday!!!
You think that they would get the hint when the FAX MACHINE KEEPS ANSWERING THEIR CALL!! DAAAAHHHHH!!
Well, let's give it another month.
this number keeps calling my 80 year old grandmother who can't hear and has no idea what the hell these people are saying and don't understand what the hell they want. they need to stop!!
My call was similar to Joels's. Caller said she was from FIA and she could send us a free credit report and help us to pay minimum on our credit card - all she needed was my Birthdate. I told her "No, no, and no" - politely.
Calls almost everyday. No message. Looks like we'll be cancelling our BoA Card.
I let the machine pick up and they hung up.
Called me, and let my fax machine answer the calls I do not understand. Even all the toll free calls that I get. :)
This is Bank of America trying to get subscribers for a credit monitoring service. They are offering a free month plus a free credit report and then a monthly fee to continue with the plan. They have called me 3 times this week until I answered and declined.
I have a credit card originally from MBNA which was swallowed up by Bank of America. Today (7/30) I went into the nearest local branch to me in Oklahoma City to make a payment and informed the teller about these "800" calls I was receiving and that the number had been traced to Bank of America and their Debt Protection Program. I showed her the number and she knew exactly what I was talking about and instantly recognized and confirmed the number as being a valid Bank of America number. I then informed her I wished NOT to receive any more calls. She assured me she would get into their computer system and 'block' my number from being called anymore. Our exchange was very cordial and business like. We'll see what happens from this point forward.....
754pm est

Bank of America tring to enroll me in ID theft protection.
Caller ID hit 6/29/07
Toll Free Number
I get at least one call a day.. I answer and after a couple of secs, they hang up. Probably a computer calling whether an agent is available or not.
This is Bank of America and it's a sales call about their Debt Protection Plan or at least that is what the recording says when I called the number back that was on my caller id.
They keep calling and don't leave a message.
Thay have called me at least 8 times in the past week. I never answered and they never left a message. I called the number and it did reference the "Death Protection Plan".
People, they are calling on behalf of Bank of America, which most of you are probably customers of! THAT, my friends, is what makes them exempt.
This is BofA again!!! I called and a very polite lady said she would take of it right away. I won't hold my breath!
I answered with a thick Mexican accent. They asked to speak to my wife. I said she was busy milking the cows. They asked who I was, and I said, in that same accent, "I am Juan Ponce de Leon, high viscount of Santervás de Campos." They asked if it was my real name and I said, "Si." Then I went into a length disertation of my many adventures in the New World, most notably being the first European to set foot in Florida. Couldn't tell if the caller was impressed.
They don't report who they are to caller id, so we don't answer
This number has called 9 times, although we haven't answered. They never leave a message.
Caller ID indicated this toll free number. I called back. They confirmed they were part of Bank of America. WHY ARE THEY EXEMPT FROM ABIDING BY THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST???
We are getting at least 10 calls a day from 800-943-3022 and 866-289-4409. They are driving me koo, koo! I have block calling and they still get thru?? I am on the do not call list.
Only the numbers are diplayed not a company name.
The company is called Central States Indemnity of Omaha. This is their web address: csi-omaha.com
This is their mailing address and "Customer Service" line:
Central States Indemnity Co of Omaha Home Office
1212 N 96th St
Omaha, NE 68114
(402) 997-8000
I am sure they'd LOVE to hear from all of us!
I called this number "after hours" to see what would happen. A recorded message said that I had reached Central State Indemnity of Omaha...which I assume is working for Bank of America. Go to the Bank of America site and, under their privacy section, change your Opt-Out information and PRINT it for your records. Then complain to DNCR and FTC. Keep a record of all the dates and times that they called, as well as when you made stop requests. If it's bad enough, you can go to the Attorney General of your state or the Better Busniess Bureau.
This number has called twice and the person leaves a message thanking me for inquiring about consolidating my student loans. I don't have any student loans and I never inquired about any. The woman talks REAL fast and I did catch the name Bank of America in there somewhere too.
l
Called twice today, left no message.
Got 2 calls, one right after the other from this number. Showed up on Caller ID as TOLL FREE. Did not answer because my blocking computer software dropped the call after one ring.
We were unavailable to answer, but they didn't leave a message either. Guess we'll never know who it was.
Caller ID said "Out of area", I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
Called on Sat., 1pm.
caller id said toll free... did not leave message. They have called every day for the last two weeks... will they ever just give up and go away.. we can only hope.
Caller ID stated "Unknown Name" - didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
Caller ID said out of area, left no message. Called number after hours, got recording they are Central State Indemnity Company of Omaha. I am reporting to the DNC registry.
They have called 10 times since 5-1-07. Most times I haven't been available to answer. I have answered 3 times, 2 of those they hung up. One time I talked to a man & I have his name, said he was from Bank of America & wanted to talk to my husband about the Platnium Card-husband unavailable. Man asked when was the best time to call & I said late at night, since then they have called at 9:52 AM & 4:10 PM, hardly late at night!!!
Called back they claim to be a cycle repair company.
Picked up, they did not answer in 10 seconds so I hung up.
Left no message
I have asked these phone spammers (who keep calling my work number) to remove me from their list four times. Each time they politely assure me that my name has been removed. Then they (obviously some automated system) calls me back the next day. If you have caller ID just ignore them.
These people called and I answered. Switches clicked, and finally a woman came on asking for someone in the house. I told them they were not avaialable, and what is this about. She would not answer. She only said she was from Bank of America.
caller id said Toll Free Number.....they didn't leave any message on my answering machine. I called back and got a recording that said "Thank you for calling about the death protection plan". This appears to be just another number being used by Bank Of America!!! Just about the time we get used to their number......They change to a new one hoping we will not recognize it!!!
Who is this calling
