Some Santiago Muniz called and said, I won a ford explorer. Need to come to office to claim. Address 901, 31st street NW washington DC, 20007. I asked multiple times if this is a timeshare, talked to even the superviser just to understand. Same deal, you will win something from 3 gifts, 1)For explorer or $25K, 2)27" TV or 3)vacation in bahamas. Supervisor gives some password and time.

2009-07-26 22:10:23 UTCGina

They said their name was "Patrick" and that I had won a Ford Explorer? Is this legit?

dear has no life - i think it is time for you to retract your statement that i have a 3rd degree felony record. if you claim to be such a honorable web site you would continue your investigation and not allow some a-- hole to post statements like this without you investigating. remember there are courses of action i can take also. attacking my business is different than attacking me personally. i get the point that most of your site comments are made by people that have no life. but to falsly slander me personally is i believe against the law. why do you not find out if you are liable for allowing comments on your site without finding out the truth. as you can see i am not ashamed to identify myself with my full name. why don't the a-- holes who made the accusation against me do so. what are they afraid of if it is true. why don,t you post the last entrees first? that would make more sense. sorry you do not have any do you. hope i have not used to many big words for your members i do so appologize to them. since you know so much about me why don,t you contact me and we can discuss this. if your b---s aren,t big enough i will understand. i am sorry that i am defending myself. doesn,t happen often does it> MAY GOD BLESS YOU DAILY AS HE DOES ME>

Dear has no life - i do not know where you get off writing that i was arrested for a 3rd degree felony. i was arrested one time in my life and that was as an 18 year old GI ALONG WITH 30 - 40 other GI's stationed at ft bliss texas. All charges were dropped. get your bulls--t story correct. i apologize to all the people that felt they were being scammed. i never took a cent or asked for any money at any time. we set appointments for various clients and always brought people in the front door. i was a small business man who employed as many as 80 people at a time and all we were doing was trying to make an honest living. their are millions of timeshare owners in this world of ours so i guess your 700 plus complainers are right and they are wrong. you will also be happy to know that my company has gone out of business and i have personally lost everything i had trying to keep my company running for my hard working honest employees. so may you all sleep better knowing i am gone from your life forever. MAY GOD BLESS YOU DAILY AS HE DOES ME.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL DAILY AS HE DOES ME EVERY DAY.

Really it is just a time share promotion. After a rep finally got on the phone, she was about to start her promo script and I cut her off asking the purpose of this call. The rep told me it was a time share promotion. ****Scam****

Third part Cont:Along with the injunction, the carrier is asking for unspecified money damages. The federal Consumer Telephone Protection Act forbids telemarketers to use auto-dialers when the recipient must pay for incoming calls.
It costs Verizon Wireless' customer service center $6.50 for each customer calling to complain of spam, Lewis said, adding the federal law allows for $500 in damages per call.
Companies named in the lawsuits could not be reached for comment.
Earlier this month Verizon won $10,000 from Passport Holidays, after the Ormond Beach, Fla., company sent the carrier's customers 98,000 text messages informing them they had won a Bahamas cruise.

Callers were informed they had won a resort trip and instructed them to call a toll-free number to claim the prize.
When Verizon called the number, they were told by the Spanish-speaking representative that 100 people had been picked and they needed to provide a credit card number with expiration date, Lewis said.
Although the messages were recorded in Spanish, "Verizon customers all across the country, including California and Oregon," were called, according to Lewis.
The second lawsuit claims Cambridge Marketing and Financial Services made 55,000 calls to Verizon Wireless customers telling them they had won a Ford Explorer and asking that they call a toll-free number to obtain their award.

In any language, unwanted telephone solicitation, or spam, is a crime, according to Verizon Wireless.

The company said it filed two lawsuits against three Florida-based telemarketers for the illegal solicitation of its customers.

Verizon Wireless is asking a Somerville, N.J., Superior Court to stop Miami-based All Star Vacations and Marketing Group, Orlando's Travel and Tours Marketing, and Cambridge Marketing and Financial Services of Deland, Fla., from soliciting its customers.

Between November 2005 and December 2005, All Star Vacations and Marketing Group along with Travel and Tours Marketing, made more than 500,000 Spanish-language pre-recorded calls to Verizon Wireless, Verizon spokesperson Debra Lewis told internetnews.com.

I found it strange that they would call my work number (a private number) for something like this, and I did some research and found out that IT'S A SCAM TO SELL TIMESHARES. Found a report from someone who actually went to claim the price. The report is on this website: ripoffreport.com

(Tennessee) Just checked my work voicemail and I too received the same BS message from a "Julia" claiming to have won a Ford Explorer or $25K. A few people at my company have received the same calls, and at least one person that I know of has called back, and it's just a major scam to get you to listen to a time-share pitch.

Why can't they just be honest and tell you what it is they want, they could save themselves alot of explaining, then only those interested in a time share would bother to call them. argh! I am not stupid, I know damn well I wouldn't be confirming some expensive prize especially when they didn't address me by name. They might as well have been calling my dog.

2007-11-07 18:27:30 UTCTom in Arizona

I just got the same call at my work #, Lindsey from the claims center says I have a Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash, call back with claim #AZ820

2007-11-07 03:30:50 UTCGJS

A woman(didn't give her name) asked that I return call asap. This was regarding promotion winnings of a Ford Bronco or $25,000 cash. Identified as Awards Claim Center. Gave code # AZ820. Gave the call back number as: 1-800-918-4224.
This can't be real. I do enter contests whenever and forget about them...but somehow this doesn't seem right?
I would like to find out "WHO" they really are? WHy they're doing it..confirm it's a "scam".
I don't plan to call back but will research more after seeing the other's responses.

2007-11-07 00:04:33 UTCAlso in AZ

It seems to be Arizona's turn. Same pitch many others already reported, Ford Explorer or $25,000. "Lindsay" left the message for me at home. A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to share this info and help the rest of us avoid this dreadful, irritating scam!

2007-11-06 22:25:15 UTCShelli

Got this on my work voice mail:

"Hi, this is Jenny calling from the awards claim center. We're trying to reach you regarding a promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash. I have some really good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is Claim KP1107. Thank you and have a great day. Bye."

I knew it was no contest. (I don't even play the lottery, let alone give out my work number to win some prize.) So I called to pump them for info.

The call center is in Florida, but the company they work for is in King of Prussia. The woman told me it's called Caribbean Fun Stays. I Googled and found this:

CaribbeanFunStays.com
Caribbean Funstays 1150 first ave 10th floor king of prussia, PA 19406 US Domain Name: CARIBBEANFUNSTAYS.COM Administrative Contact , Technical Contact : Caribbean Funstays billm@advmcro.com 1150 first ave 10th floor king of prussia, PA 19406 US Phone: 610-592-0390

The site says it's a vacation "wholesaler" -- "An informative, 90 minute, no obligation seminar is conducted every two hours at our state of the art Vacation Preview Center."

They invited me to their "drawing" "tonight." I told them, "No."

2007-11-06 16:29:24 UTCElle

I received the call at work as well. Message was left with same information from Lindsey. Thanks.

2007-11-06 14:34:40 UTCLinda

I got a call from "Carmen" at my work number saying I would be entered for a Ford Explorer drawing and watch my email address for a $50 award now. Silly me, I gave them my home address!

2007-11-05 15:26:08 UTCAZ

I too recived this call on my voicemail at work. The beginning of the message was cut off. "....You have won your choice of a Ford Explorer or $25,000 cash. I have exciting news, please call me back at 1-800-918-4224. Confirmation number is AZ820." I was suspicious and researched it and I'm glad I did, I will not be calling these scam artists back. Thank You!

2007-11-02 20:40:38 UTCTommy

Voicemail message telling me to call a number because it was urgent...and I needed to give them a code: AZ (something). I don't know about you, but I don't usually call people I don't know.

2007-11-01 15:18:13 UTCJoe

THe number is not the one on the ID, but rather a number to call back. The prize verification number is a trick for you to tell the salesperson, which city to show the timeshare. I got WB 764 (WB = Williamsburg). Others got HH, which I assume means Hilton Head, South Carolina. Anyway, just a thought. Also, you will never get a Ford explorer from them. I didn't even fill out a form.

2007-10-30 13:16:01 UTCLOL

Carmen from Award Center then she gave a 800 number that I did not get. She said that I won a Ford Explorer.

I won the Ford Explorer!!! Oh my god I couldn't believe it!!! I sat through the presentation and then at the end they gave me the scratch off ticket. I scratched it off and I was stunned because I was expecting to get the TV.

Dave Meriwether was the manager on duty that day and he took me to the local ford dealership so I could get the explorer. I got to drive it back here to Atlanta! Man, I am soooo excited!

My husband got the same message about the 25k and the Ford Explorer... Her name was Mandy though. I called and they asked Age range, income (under or above 50,000) Email address and Name. I got the same message as everyone else from "Mandy". If this is a Timeshare deal they are not all bad. My husband and I had our Honeymoon paid for from a call like this when Fairfield was starting up (now very well known). We went to Ft. Lauderdale, Disney World, and the Bahamas over two weeks. We had to pay our air fare to and from Florida and visit a 30 minute to 2 hour timeshare presentation in each location but we got to stay in really nice Condos and had free dinners in most locations and even went on a free cruise and got discount tickets to local attractions! We got cheep air fare and really only invested about 4-6 hours over two weeks in Timeshare stuff...but did get bonus for listening. We aren't in the market for a vacation right now so I didn't call back but if you are it might we worth trying.

This is the message:

"Hi this is Candy calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for for awhile regarding our promotion to receive a a 21' Inclinner Boat or $25,000 in cash. There was enough background noise to make me belive there were at leat 100 callers nearby.

I got the call at work. Same voicemail almost verbatim as the others.

I DID call back, lol. I voluteered a small amount of info until they said they needed names for the guest list and crap to "go claim" the prize. I suspect foul-play as many are. Thank you for this, everyone.

I got the message that DTaylor got as far back as 9-15-06, with a different "award" and "award number." The text, almost verbatim:

2007-07-31 21:21:12 UTCMark

I too received the same call from "Carmen" and decided to call back. I was told to call the 18009184224 number, but the call actually came from 3865387515. I was told I was a finalist in the drawing for a new Ford Explorer. The "Awards Claim Center" did not ask me for any personal information like some of the other callers, but asked more vague questions like whether I was single or married and my age range. After the survey like questions he told me I was now entered into the final drawing for the Explorer and to have a great day. I really expected him to ask for my SSN or something. The only question he asked was what number I received the call on so of course that was information he obviously already had and I gave it to him even though the number has been disconnected from service.

2007-07-31 20:18:08 UTCCSR

"Crystal" called about the Ford Explorer on my work number. I got pissed and decided to call 1-800-918-4224 back. Here's what ensued:

I called the 1-800 back to tell them to take me off the list, but they immediately asked me the state I was calling from, then started asking for my phone number, zip code, and additional information to confirm my "winnings." I immediately told them I did not want to give it, and asked to speak with a supervisor.

I was put on the phone with a man named Richard, who refused to give me the mailing address of the Awards Claim Center and demanded to know why I wanted it. I told him that I wanted to report it to the Better Business Bureau and he immediately got hostile and told me that my business number was public information and that he could put it on their "do not call list." Then he hung up on me.

I called back again, got the same supervisor, and told him I was calling from a media organization and that I wanted him to know I was going to record the call (to see his reaction). He immediately said he wasn't going to deal with it, and hung up on me again.

Sounds more like identity theft than timeshares.

Not very original...

Ditto on the VM received here in Virginia -- this one was to hubby's cell phone, a major no-no for telemarketers to call. Almost nobody has that number. No incoming number registered since it went straight to VM (phone was off)

Received voicemail message from 434-878-9476 on caller ID, but listed this 918 number as call back. Same message from "Carmen" at Awards Claims Center as others with claim# HH592.

THis is awards calim center. You have won a ford explorer or $25,000 cash. call now this is your last notification.

Here's the message

"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is HH592."

The same thing happened to me that happened to everyone else. But where they screwed up on is that im only 17. I can't win a car! HaHaHa. They claimed to be having "phone problems" when i called and never answered my questions. Plus they never let me talk to "Carmen".
Someone should catch these people. It's all a scam.

I also have the same claim number as a person from Georgia, the same state i'm in, who got called November 16, 2006. I was called July 11, 2007.

I think I just might call the cops. Trying to sell me something is against the law. I'M A MINOR!!!!

2007-07-12 12:31:56 UTCPJ

It looks like a lot of people got this call at work...Just got the same one, twice in two hours. I knew it was fake whenever it gave me two different clame numbers.

2007-07-11 11:43:19 UTCDebbie O

I also received this voice mail at work.

"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. I have some good news for you. This must be a new kind of SCAM. (Calling professionals at work.) Do they really think experienced professionals who work at the larger coroprations are really stupid people?
Well maybe some are but not the majority. LOL...Thanks for this site.

Left voicemail message similar to others, but without a name and without mention of a Ford Explorer. Tried calling back; just goes busy

2007-07-06 16:33:55 UTCWK

I just received the same message, that I'd won something and my claim # is xxxx. My phone number is unlisted and on the Do Not Call Registry, so I knew it had to be due to the fact I'd just registered online at Publisher's Clearing House last night. If you read their policy, they talk about unchecking the box on the accout info page. Well, the box says to check it if you want to be notified of your winning by email - oh yeah, and don't check it if you don't want "special offers" from third parties...

I've blocked the incoming phone # this call was placed on (434-878-9976, other complaints on this # in whocalled.us), to stop anymore calls. I also suggest that we all contact the person at PCH listed in their privacy policy: pch.com

"We welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding this privacy policy or the use of personal data. To contact us, please visit the Info Center of the site or write directly to:
Christopher L. Irving,

Oh, and I updated my PCH profile by putting in (800) 918-4224 as my contact #. Let them scam each other :)

Received a voice message at work from Carmen, stating she was from the Awards Claim Center at 1-800-918-4224. Said they had been trying to reach me for some time. Call back ASAP re: claim #SNCA3112 and this was the final notification.

I did not call back. Instead, I Google'd the Awards Claim Center and discovered the scam.

Ditto the call at work. Number was 800-918-4224 from Crystal and my claim number was ALP9000. Funniest part was, about 2 minutes after my call, my buddy in the cube across from me got the exact same call (and we have different direct dial numbers)!

I too was called by
800-918-4224
given the #88592
and asked some questions which I gave false responses to. I was told of winning one of 3 prises and asked to register at a hotel in Hilton head south Carolina for a drawing of which they would pay for my hotel room. I began to ask pointed questions and was transfered to a mgr. at that point I asked organization name of which I got Fl, quency marketing.
I will continue to search this out until I have all Info and this company and then I will publish this on the we. When noticed an hebrew accent and asked her if she spoke Hebrew in Hebrew she hung up. I then called back. and spoke with the mgr and asked about who funds this organization and if they receive any federal funding. The manager dodged this question showing that this could be much more than it appears.
Thanks.

Left message on my work phone well after normal business hours. Caller did not identify who they were or why they were calling; just said it was very important that I call back and give them my claim number of "ALP9000". Sounded fishy, so Googled the number on Caller ID and found this site. Great site! Thanks.

2007-06-27 18:29:28 UTCKim

I got a call from "Carmen" using HH592. I called and I am so special that they have given this claim number out to several people over the past two years. I told them never to call me again or I would report them to the governor's office and a smart young lady said to give her my #'s and she would put them on the "Do not call list", I told her to use my "claim" number to obtain my telephone numbers. She obviously could not.

My husband got "the" call at work, odd - we don't give out that number! Then we got the call at home and someone left the exact message as DTaylor's 9-15-06 call. Our claim # was something like F or SNCA3.... This shouldn't affect your computer if you have a firewall per my IT person. If you find something different, please post it. Thanks!

I asked her who is the contact for the Claim number given? Which was not me, and informed them they had called a work phone.

Got a call from Carmen on my cell. Curiously but stupidly called back and was asked questions: what is the phone number you were called on, what state do you live in, are you single, married, etc., are you in the age group xx-xx, are you employed? Then they said I have been entered into the final drawing for the exciting Ford or 25K. Man, I hope I win! (Bastards)

2007-05-23 23:40:40 UTCadam

rude, short and won't give any info other than I will win a car at the end of the year...I got 5 calls in 3 days from the same number and everyone that i talked to would not say anything other than I was randomly selected to win a car. "F" tellamarketers!! they should die!!

Hi this is Alex calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I received a message on my BRAND NEW phone line (even before I set up the voicemail). The beginning had been cut off (as if it was a recorded message), and the female voice was slow and deliberate (as if reading something scripted). The vm said "... calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for awhile regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash. I have some really good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is XXXXxxxx. This is your last and final notice. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day." I called and started asking questions about how she acquired my number, her company name, etc.. She then said good-bye, and just before hanging up, called me a 'bitch'.

Please beware, never once did she mention my name, her name, the name of her company, or the name of the "Sweepstakes" I had entered. Also, my name was ever asked.

I received this at work on my voicemail stating that it was Shannel from the Awards Claim Center and she had been trying to contact me about a Ford Explorer or $25,000 award. she gave a reference number SNRS3112 and told me to call back at the toll free number.

2007-05-17 17:40:39 UTCLila

I received the exact same voicemail on my work phone in San Diego, on 5/2/07. Same thing...I won a Ford Explorer or $25,000 cash, they've been trying to reach me, final notice, blah blah. She gave me a confirmation number, FNCA3112, and a call back number, (800)918-4224. Unfortunately, I was both curious and gullible enough to call them back! I spoke to someone who said I was a finalist...and then she asked me some "demographical" questions: am I 30-70? no. am i single or married? single. do i live with a significant other? no. am i over 21? yes. so i probably didn't meet their timeshare critera because she said i would be entered into the drawing and then that was it. i hope i never hear from them again..and if they try calling me back, they'll most definitely get a piece of my mind!!! now i feel stupid..I should have known it was too good to be true. ;(

I recevied this call at work and decided to call them back find out the name of the company. When I called I got through to a VERY uneducated (ghetto)individual who had NO business anwering phones (can we say ebonics)! When I demanded to speak to a supervisor he set thee phone down without placing me on hold and proceeded to hit on his co-worker. I am not lying--this is what I heard, "Yo baby, I ain't got no racist tendancies, but you are a fine looking white woman". After listening to this for about two minutes he came back on the line only to realize I had heard his entire conversation and no, I had not spoken to a manager. Well, when I finally spoke to amanger and asked him the name of the company he worked for he proceeded to give me his personal work history. Needless to say, I did not find out the name of the company and I hung the phone up irritated, confused, slightly offended and I must admit--amused at the LOSERS that stoop so low to take these kind of jobs!!!!!!

I began to get concerned about the whole thing when I was told we would be staying at the French Quarter in Branson, but after looking up the resort, found that it was located somewhere else in Branson! I have recieved calls from this number: (434)878-9976, so many times it is not even funny. I actually spoke to someone once, some guy names Ken, or something like that. I chewed him out about calling and demanded he remove my number from their calling list. Just today (5/3/2007) I recieved another. Each time they call they hang up as soon as I answer and say 'Hello?'. I called back and talked to Tim. I demanded (again) my number be taken off of the list, and I got hung up on. I received this VM today @ 3:50pm. VM said you entered a sweep 25K or Ford Explorer. So I figured what the H! call them back. I do enter sweeps every once in awhile but it seemed a bit fishy so I had H2B call.
H2B gave them a call and the guy said he won 2nd place a trip to The Bahamas (6 day 5 night). He wanted to know what state we lived in and what our income is. H2B said below 25K just for laughs and the guy hung up. H2B called back and got a woman who said that they had us living in FL. Well yeah that is where our company phone # is listed but that not where we are we did mot tell her this but knew it must be a scam. The woman asked how much we made H2B said 50K I guess that was enough for her to continue to talk to us. H2B then said he was a bit skeptical since they did not know who won just the phone # the woman informed him that he must have entered a sweep when he registered for at a grocery store (discount cards). She asked for H2B to send a self addressed stamp to:

Welcome Center
P O Box 7154
Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32116

And they would send him more information on the prize that he won. What a shame it’s a scam I could use some time off from the company to go to The Bahamas.

I received the same call from Carmen last night (Friday evening) about 7:30pm to my work phone. I fwrd my work # to my cell when not in the office, but missed the call. It was the same message about an Explorer or $25K. The red flag immediately went up when she said they have been trying to reach me for some time. Since I am reachable at the number she called 24/7, why would they be having such a difficult time getting ahold of me?

I got a voice mail message on my work phone from 434-878-9976. The message said to call 1-800-918-4224. The message said it was my "last and final notice". I had no prior calls or messages from this company. The message said I was being called with some exciting news about my entry into a promotion for at new Ford Explorer or $25K cash. I tracked the (434) number to a provider in a town in Virgina named Brodnax. I called both numbers and I did ultimately speak with a woman on the 1-800 line who identified herself as Rhonda from Quincy Marketing in Florida. She asked what state I was calling from which is NJ. Based on my location, Rhonda said she was calling for a new company in Atlantic City, NJ named Shore Escapes, LLC located at 1125 Atlantic Avenue, AC, NJ 08401. When asked what promotion I had entered, she could not say, just speculated it was something in a Mall or on-line. She said that I had indicated that I liked to travel. (Who doesn't??) When asked about the Explorer or the $25K cash that I was called about, she said there will be a drawing on December 31. But now, I was invited to visit the new company's office in Atlantic City, NJ where I would be given a scratch off ticket where I would win one of 3 essential prizes. I was also asked to send Rhonda a self-addressed stamped envelope to "The Welcome Center, PO Box 7154, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida 32116" and in return I would be sent a certificate for a day cruise out of Florida. In short, I did not win anything. No mistaking it, this is a sales call/scam.

I called them back to tell them I work for a defense contractor and that our numbers are not for public use. They're protected under some DOD section and not even on our business cards. I spoke to the manager "Richard" who was pretty nice and straightforward. Apparently they can call any number as long as it's not on the national "do not call" list. Even unlisted numbers are fair game. His chances of reaching our classified phone structure was about as good as anyone else mashing their hand on the phone and dialing 7 random numbers. I'll talk to management about why we're not on that list if we're classified.

I called, spoke to Richard, whom was very rude to me and told me I was harassing him. He told me he would get me in trouble.

I just received the voice mail at work with the same message as everyone else. Called 1-800-918-4224. I was told that I won a Bahamas vacation. To redeem this prize I must send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: The Welcome Center, P.O. Box 7154 Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32116. I assumed this was timeshare scam.

This is really incredible! Guess Carmen's focusing on Georgia now. Same message as everyone else -- on my work phone:

"Hi, this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is HH592 (or could have been 88592). It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

I check my VM 3x daily -- right, she's been "trying" to reach me! BWAHHAHAHHA!!!

"Hi this is Annabelle, calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for a while regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or 25000 dollars in cash. I've got some great news for you. I need you to call me as soon as possible. My toll free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is SNTP3112. This was called at my work number as well. Called back 1st time and got disconnected. 2nd call I immediately asked who the company is that was calling me, and they said they couldn't tell me until I told them my claim number. I gave them the claim number and they told me that the company name is "Worldwide Destinations", which is a marketing company located in Tampa, FL. AT&T Anywho shows their phone and address as:

I answered my work phone and it still went to a recorded voice mail, I was not given a chance to take the call at that time.

I received the same message with claim No.SNZA3112.Called back and told I had won a 5 night holiday in the Bahamas, and I needed to send a stamped self addressed envelope to the Welcome Center,PO box 7154,Daytona Beach Shores,Florida 32116.
Holidays or prizes are always the other end of the country, and you will always need to travel to collect them. This is a timeshare/holiday scam, the next step is to request a travel advance opening up c.cards/B.accts.to them or a direct loss via cash/M.order payment.Whatever they offer will cost you less if you buy it direct yourself.
I am in California

Don,t fall for it!

2007-04-20 01:48:40 UTCEFM

I received the same voicemail message from Carmen stating I won a Ford Explorer claim number HH592. Oh and apparently she had been trying to reach me for some time:-)

I cautiously went ahead and called it answered with some freaky music playing so I hung up and decided to Google the number. Glad I did.

I live in Georgia.

EXACTLY the same script with a different claim prize number.

2007-04-19 16:18:23 UTCAng

Got the same call from Mike Malone Sweepstakes prize american publishers 800-514-0049 & direct line 678-401-5655...but it was for a BMW with 25k! They said they dont know exactly how I got entered but that they think its because I was selected from my Visa CC for being a "good customer". After talking to the guy I realized that they just wanted to sell me something and get my personal CC information before getting my prize. When I told the guy I'd call him back after checking out if he was legit I got another call within 30 minutes(didnt write the number down) re: the ford explore w/ 25k. Geez, like id take the down grade in cars! At this point I said "no thanks" - the guy proceeded to insult me. Warning: these people are creeps out for your money! This is really creepy because three people directly related to me or thru work have all gotten the same calls! Don't fall for it!

Claim #: F (or S) NCA3112

2007-04-19 15:30:00 UTCMatt

Dang it!! I fell for it LOL! I should have looked up this information before I called back. I knew it was too good to be true LOL! Well, I called and this gay music started playing before someone answered. I was get'n jiggy with it. (j/k) It sounded like I was talking onto a loud speaker or something... weird... I told him I wasn't sure if this was legit and I wasn't sharing any information with him. I received the same call coming from Carmen as well with a different claim number on it. He asked me if I wanted to stop the call if I didn't think it was legit and I told him I don't like giving out information to something I don't know about. I guess according to him I signed some sweepstakes at a grocery story or mall (which I do occasionally) so I answered his questions. Basically they were if I was married, if not was I living with my girlfriend, my age bracket, if I worked or not, and if I go on vacation do I used a major CC or checks. That's it... he told me I'd be put in the drawing to receive one of the prizes Ford Crapsplorer or 25K. Either way... I don't care cuz after taxes I won't see it... I'll put it towards my school loan LOL! That's if it's legit and I highly doubt it. So many scams these days.. I need to get hooked up with a job doing nothing but calling people and get paid for it. psh! W.E.

The unidentified person offered a Ford Explorer or $25K. Claim # FNAU3112

I actually received this call twice at work (as did my co-worker). Today they called my house phone number. In reading the postings, it sounds like the claim # just indicates where you are located. Mine was FNUT3112 and I am in Utah. Kinda funny. Nice site. Glad I didn't call back. I almost thought it was legit after I got the call at both places.

2007-04-05 22:02:04 UTCJason

I went through the whole routine with them. They want you to sit through a one hour class and listen to a sales pitch. After you give them a little personal info the prizes get smaller. Explorer,25k in cash, 27" TV, or 7 day Bahama trip. When I refused to give them a home address they thanked me for my time (and gulability) and hung up.

These calls appear to be from the Spinnaker Resort people trying to push time shares. They have gotten in trouble in the past for telemarketing: ago.mo.gov

I had just dialed the number to call them back and was on hold when it occured to me to Google the number and I found this site. I hung up right away. This site was a great help - thanks for posting!

2007-03-21 10:11:07 UTCJ.K.

Left vmail at business number stating I either won a Ford 'Exploder' or $25K, said call back with claim number SNSA3112.

2007-03-20 07:13:38 UTCHemp

I recieved the same VM from Nichole about the ford Explorer and a $25,000 dollar prize. if anyone would like to try with my claim number it is SNSC3112.

2007-03-19 13:56:03 UTCEdL

Received a call from "Carmen", She's been trying to get me about a Ford Explorer claim HH592, I'll split with who ever can get them to fork over the cash with my claim # (I'm sure mine is the winner :-) )

2007-03-18 20:34:19 UTCJane

They called my cell phone and said I had won an explorer or $25K. Right! I hung up.

2007-03-15 14:13:43 UTCDebbi in Texas

message was cut off. All I heard was and 800 number and stating this is my final notice and it gave me a confirmation number.

2007-03-15 07:45:20 UTCMH

MSG was left on work phone. MSG said that I won a brand new Ford Explore or $2,5000.00 cash & thier phn# with claim #. I did not call back.

2007-03-13 22:27:17 UTCLaura

I got a message today from Carmen ironically enough saying that I won a Ford Explorer. I called back and told the person my claim number and asked what this was about. She said that i had won a contest that i had entered within the last 12-18 months (which i didn't enter) and that I won a 7 day cruise to the bahamas. she asked me to confirm the number that she called earlier, asked me how old i was and said to claim my prize, all i needed to do was send a self adressed envelope to The Welcome Center, p.o. box 7154, Daytona beach shores, FL, 32116. I took down all the info knowing i would never do it.

2007-03-13 15:23:48 UTCChris

"Awards claim center" has apparently been trying to reach me for some time.

They called my direct line at work, not my home or cell. Nor have I entered any contest to win an Explorer.

Claim TX941.

I don't plan to call.

2007-03-08 09:46:42 UTCtl

I think Carmen was fired, because I received the same message from Anna.

2007-03-07 11:14:17 UTCjiggs

wow! i didnt even get offered a ford explorer, lmao! got this call this am on my home phone... i see that carmen has been very busy annoying america! when i answered, there was nothing... no sound at all...

2007-03-06 14:51:35 UTCFARfetched

It's been three months, time for these timeshare phone spammers to call again!

This time it was Chenelle and claim #FNRS3112. I've figured out a couple of their codes; HH refers to a timeshare in Hilton Head, for example.

This is my "last and final notice" — they're probably lying about that too.

2007-03-06 13:26:48 UTCDana

Okay, you'll love this. I got the message on my voice
mail at work...the NEWS department of a television station! From Carmen with HH 592. I called the 800 number planning to blast them, but got the recording
run around. Now the phone disconnects me. Maybe they're using caller ID?

2007-03-06 13:05:09 UTCKeith

Mine was from Channelle (sp?). She doesn't say that I won the Explorer or the 25K, rather that they have an Explorer or 25K promotion and that she has good news for me. I haven't called back. I checked a while back and was told that the Do-Not-Call lists do not apply to business phone numbers. There's probably nothing that you can do about this one.

2007-03-06 11:25:09 UTCBecky

I have been getting this same message both at home and today for the first time at work I live in Utah

2007-03-06 08:19:27 UTCScott

Note: They do not say you won an Explorer, only that they are calling about the Explorer and they "have some very good news". Other web sites say this is a vacation package telemarketer.

2007-03-06 08:13:46 UTCJohn

Just like others...I received a voicemail message stating I won a ford explored at my work number. From Carmen at the Awards Claims Center. I am in Charlotte. I did not call back.

I was just wondering how anyone got my work phone number, because I specifically don't give it out. Annabella called me about the ford explorer or $25000 in cash. Thought I would google it because it was strange--and way too good to be true. I think I'll look up the FCC next.

Comm Junk, waste of electrons and energy. call the FCC please.

2007-03-05 07:53:29 UTCFelicia

Got this on my voicemail at work. Their recording started before my message was complete, so I missed the name of the group. Only said that they had good news for me and gave a claim code of HH592.

2007-03-01 23:48:41 UTCB M

Unsolicited call about a Ford Explorer prize. Doesn't Do Not Call protect against this?

2007-03-01 17:06:26 UTCLinda

2007-03-01 16:02:37 UTCAustin TX

There must be somewhere we can turn these bastards in. Somebody want to look up the DA in Daytona?

2007-03-01 07:08:41 UTCsulley

They left a VM on my work phone at the National Guard.

2007-02-21 18:54:28 UTCAmy

I got a mesage today in a small town in Georgia, on my college dorm phone!! I made the mistake of assuming it was legit since not too many people have this number... the message was cut off at the beginning so i called back originally trying to let them know that they may not have the right number for who they were treying to reach. The message on my phone said this... we have been trying to reach you for some time,... new ford explorer, ...really good news for you,... need you to call us as soon as possible, claim number 88592 thank you and have a great day.

When i called them they said it was for my roomate but she said she didnt enter any competition like that! :( I hope nothing bad happens because I called them!

2007-02-14 15:14:21 UTCTL

Got it at work... bummed its not for real. $25000 or a Ford explorer isn't bad at all.

2007-02-13 14:24:55 UTCJArmont

This is a timeshare solicitation scam, you most likely heard heard something to the effect of,
"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is BR394. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. I received a call at my work number claiming I have won a Ford Explorer or 25k in cash. Bridgette claim she has been trying to contact me and this would be a last time confirmation number I needed to give was/is FNSA3112. They never said my name.

2007-02-13 12:04:20 UTCJake

Dang, here I thought I had won a car. Guess I won't call Carmen back. Someone else can have my HH592 claim number. Oh, wait, someone already does have it. Oh, well.

I received the same VM at work with the exact same message AND claim number as Matt, who posted on 10/6/06. The msg was left by "Carmen". I will not be following up with them.

2007-02-06 06:56:00 UTCDon

I called them back, they are offering a trip to Florida... Sounds like a Timeshare deal.

2007-02-05 11:59:40 UTCAV

Apparently I've won as well. Googled the number and found this site and others with similar experiences. I believe mine was Erica but it was a Ford or $25,000 and they'd been trying to reach me for some time and this was my last chance to claim.

2007-02-02 22:40:54 UTCJim

Some chick called left a message said I won $25,000. just another SCAM.

2007-02-02 14:23:12 UTCNate

I recieved the VM at work said the same thing that has been posted except the girl's name was Alexis and a different claim number. I called and when a person picked up they didn't say anything. I said Hello 3 times and no one answered me so I hung up. Glad I did.

They called me on my prepaid cell phone. Almost identical to the others but said I had won a cash prize of $24000 or $48000. I think that is what they said but since they woke me up to tell me I could be wrong.

Called me & left a VM with claim # HH592. She said that I was a finalist to win a car at Hilton Head Island in SC. Also said that I won a free trip and to mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Welcome Center, PO Box 7154, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118. Wouldn't give her name or company info, so I immediately got online and looked for scam info relating to the phone number...looks like I found it! When I asked her where she got my info, she said that I probably signed up to win a car at a local mall, public event, or online...none of which I have done any time recently!

2007-01-12 20:47:23 UTCsteve

Effing ridiculous, they need to get the owner..... and shoot him/her.

2007-01-12 20:02:44 UTCCharles

Got similar messages on my work phone more than once. I called back and managed to get someone on the line, and I told them my work phone number was on the do not call list, and they should stop calling it immediately. He transferred me to a "manager" who turned out to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered on a phone call. He tried to tell me that they could not possibly have dialed a number to my direct line, and when I tried to tell him that they most certainly did (why would I be calling if they hadn't??), he treated me as if I was causing the problem, so I wound up slamming the phone down in his ear. I'd love for these jerks to get in trouble for calling numbers on the do not call list.

2006-12-08 21:44:08 UTCCabo

Ok, here's the scoop...
Awards Claim Center is just a front for Cambridge Marketing which operates in Florida.
It's basically a timeshare/vaction scam.
The owner of the company is named Anthony T. Coiro. Tony was born May 8, 1940 and lives in Deltona Fl. Tony Coiro was arrested on third degree felony charges in Nov. of '98. Those charges were for theft. If you want off their list, your best bet is to call them direct at 386-740-0603 and ask for Tony Coiro. If he's not in jail there's a good chance he'll take your call.

Got the exact same message. My code was DB1000. The phone number that showed up after they left the message is 208-906-1009, but the CID showed HM800-918-4224.

Just for fun I called to see what kind of information they wanted. Interestingly, they did not ask for any personal information over the phone, but to claim my consolation "prize" (I didn't win the Ford Explorer), I would have to send a SASE to the following address:

The Welcome Center
PO Box 7154
Daytona Beach, FL 32118

At the minimum, they already have my phone number (since they called), they MIGHT have may name and company (IF they recorded my voicemail message) and that's about it. The rest they would probably gather if I sent in the envelope. The claim# might be related to what area code they called, but that's just a guess.

For those 2600-types that enjoy annoying these people, have fun with the real phone number that was left on my VM CID and the address they gave me.

Happy Phish Hunting!

Exact same vm from Carmen from phone #1-800-918-4224(caller id: name unknown) with Awards Claim Center, called on 12/05/06 at 08:49 pm on my cell.
I returned call and spoke with Nicole. She said, I was selected to participate in a promotion, and the first prize is a Ford Explorer, the second prize is a two-week paid vacation and the third prize is a TV. She explained, I would have to go to Hilton Head, SC to collect my prize, and I will have to stay in a hotel for two nights. She explained, I would only have to pay the taxes for the hotel stay. The VIP number I received is HTGHHB97. I told her, I would have to confirm the legitimacy of the offer and I would like to call her Customer Service Department. She gave me the following phone number #800-310-6991.

2006-11-17 11:07:06 UTCBT

Got a voicemail at work in Seattle on 11/17/06. "Hi, this is Carmen from the Awards Claim Center . . ." The callback number was 1-888-262-3313. I did not call back.

2006-11-17 08:41:33 UTCBB

Got a message on my work phone. Script was the same, but the name was Crystal instead of Carmen and the claim number was ALP9000. Are they idiots or what?

2006-11-17 08:40:48 UTCMargaret

I received the same message from Carmen regarding the Ford Explorer giveaway on my work v.m. on 11/16. I never give my work number out, which is why I retunred the call. I wanted to be sure they did not continue calling me at work. At any rate, I returned the call the next day and was hung up on my the rep when I asked him if this was some kind of scam. I called back and spoke to the manager, Richard, who informed me that this was not a scam, but an opportunity to view a timeshare opportunity in Hilton Head, SC.

Don't waste your time calling back unless you want an opportunity to purchase a timeshare.

Same message as everyone else, but I called it and they said I would have to go to Branson, MO and to tour Spinnaker Resorts. I would receive a comp 3nt stay at the resort. I would be given a scratch off after the tour and it would reveal my prize of either the Ford Explorer, 7 day trip to Florida or 27" TV. So if anyone wants to further investigate and attend please let us know. I didnt want to test it. I am in Oklahoma

2006-11-16 15:07:33 UTCKDavis

Same exact messages as the others. I called back and got put on hold because they were "experiencing an unusually large number of calls." I hung up after 5 minutes.

I'm in Oklahoma

I received the call at work! I have not called back. Thanks.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
