Some Santiago Muniz called and said, I won a ford explorer. Need to come to office to claim. Address 901, 31st street NW washington DC, 20007. I asked multiple times if this is a timeshare, talked to even the superviser just to understand. Same deal, you will win something from 3 gifts, 1)For explorer or $25K, 2)27" TV or 3)vacation in bahamas. Supervisor gives some password and time.

July 26th, 2009 Gina

They said their name was "Patrick" and that I had won a Ford Explorer? Is this legit?

dear has no life - i think it is time for you to retract your statement that i have a 3rd degree felony record. if you claim to be such a honorable web site you would continue your investigation and not allow some a-- hole to post statements like this without you investigating. remember there are courses of action i can take also. attacking my business is different than attacking me personally. i get the point that most of your site comments are made by people that have no life. but to falsly slander me personally is i believe against the law. why do you not find out if you are liable for allowing comments on your site without finding out the truth. as you can see i am not ashamed to identify myself with my full name. why don't the a-- holes who made the accusation against me do so. what are they afraid of if it is true. why don,t you post the last entrees first? that would make more sense. sorry you do not have any do you. hope i have not used to many big words for your members i do so appologize to them. since you know so much about me why don,t you contact me and we can discuss this. if your b---s aren,t big enough i will understand. i am sorry that i am defending myself. doesn,t happen often does it> MAY GOD BLESS YOU DAILY AS HE DOES ME>

June 17th, 2008 ANTHONY T COIRO FL

Dear has no life - i do not know where you get off writing that i was arrested for a 3rd degree felony. i was arrested one time in my life and that was as an 18 year old GI ALONG WITH 30 - 40 other GI's stationed at ft bliss texas. All charges were dropped. get your bulls--t story correct. i apologize to all the people that felt they were being scammed. i never took a cent or asked for any money at any time. we set appointments for various clients and always brought people in the front door. i was a small business man who employed as many as 80 people at a time and all we were doing was trying to make an honest living. their are millions of timeshare owners in this world of ours so i guess your 700 plus complainers are right and they are wrong. you will also be happy to know that my company has gone out of business and i have personally lost everything i had trying to keep my company running for my hard working honest employees. so may you all sleep better knowing i am gone from your life forever. MAY GOD BLESS YOU DAILY AS HE DOES ME.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL DAILY AS HE DOES ME EVERY DAY.

Same call from Mandy same number 800 918-4224 same claim number WB764 I supposedly won a Ford Explorer or $25 K. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is a telemarketer.....

February 14th, 2008 a VA

Hey GA, I just got the same message and my claim number is the same as yours. I guess you get the money and I get the Ford Explorer.

February 14th, 2008 GA VA

The messeage was left on my work phone number on 2/14/08. Same content, but I won 25k, not a car, contactng person's name was Mandy, the claim # was WB764.

Received a voice mail message from Becca saying I had won a Ford Explorer; claim number HH1211. Called back, but got a busy signal. I knew it was some type of scam because I did not enter any drawings, so I searched the name given (QMFS) and saw the same number that was left of my voice mail.

February 13th, 2008 Bryan PA

I got the same call this afternoon from Mandy.

February 13th, 2008 My Company AL

Someone called my voicemail at work telling me I won money. Of course that is a scam. Called 800-918-4224 and was advised I won some prize. Hint to another scam. Really it is just a time share promotion. After a rep finally got on the phone, she was about to start her promo script and I cut her off asking the purpose of this call. The rep told me it was a time share promotion. ****Scam****

Third part Cont:Along with the injunction, the carrier is asking for unspecified money damages. The federal Consumer Telephone Protection Act forbids telemarketers to use auto-dialers when the recipient must pay for incoming calls.
It costs Verizon Wireless' customer service center $6.50 for each customer calling to complain of spam, Lewis said, adding the federal law allows for $500 in damages per call.
Companies named in the lawsuits could not be reached for comment.
Earlier this month Verizon won $10,000 from Passport Holidays, after the Ormond Beach, Fla., company sent the carrier's customers 98,000 text messages informing them they had won a Bahamas cruise.

Callers were informed they had won a resort trip and instructed them to call a toll-free number to claim the prize.
When Verizon called the number, they were told by the Spanish-speaking representative that 100 people had been picked and they needed to provide a credit card number with expiration date, Lewis said.
Although the messages were recorded in Spanish, "Verizon customers all across the country, including California and Oregon," were called, according to Lewis.
The second lawsuit claims Cambridge Marketing and Financial Services made 55,000 calls to Verizon Wireless customers telling them they had won a Ford Explorer and asking that they call a toll-free number to obtain their award.

I searched the e-mail address that "S" showed in their message. I shortened it to "oba rewards" I ran across the following which I am pasting here. It is lengthy but informative. Notice the year of the lawsuits. Thought everyone would like to know. I am going to have to cut it in half to make it fit.

In any language, unwanted telephone solicitation, or spam, is a crime, according to Verizon Wireless.

The company said it filed two lawsuits against three Florida-based telemarketers for the illegal solicitation of its customers.

Verizon Wireless is asking a Somerville, N.J., Superior Court to stop Miami-based All Star Vacations and Marketing Group, Orlando's Travel and Tours Marketing, and Cambridge Marketing and Financial Services of Deland, Fla., from soliciting its customers.

Between November 2005 and December 2005, All Star Vacations and Marketing Group along with Travel and Tours Marketing, made more than 500,000 Spanish-language pre-recorded calls to Verizon Wireless, Verizon spokesperson Debra Lewis told internetnews.com.

My 1st clue that something was not right was that they did not mention my name, just that she was Loretta from the Awards Claim Ctr. and I had won a Ford Explorer or $25,000.00 cash. Wanted me to call her at 1-800-918-4224. Claim number TN111 . Glad I checked here, thanks for having this site.

January 24th, 2008 Andie

Got the same message (at work)... I called back, gave the guy who answered, the claim number (and not letting him get a word in edgewise), told him that we were on the Do Not Call List and if they called back, we would prosecute!

January 21st, 2008 V FL

They left a message on my voice mail at work!!

I found it strange that they would call my work number (a private number) for something like this, and I did some research and found out that IT'S A SCAM TO SELL TIMESHARES. Found a report from someone who actually went to claim the price. The report is on this website: www.ripoffreport.com

Richard claiming to be the manager refused to provide company name, location and how they got my work number.

Same as everyone else. Couldn't make out the name but it wasn't the infamous Carmen this time. Sounded like Ann Tanner?? At any rate, the message was identical. they have been trying to reach me for a while.. blah blah blah. The claim number was AZ939 and said it was a Ford Explorer or $25k.

I never entered any drawing/contest and I am not sure how they got my work number.

You would think after at least two years of spam, someone would have done something about this by now.

Good thing Google is my friend.

(Tennessee) Just checked my work voicemail and I too received the same BS message from a "Julia" claiming to have won a Ford Explorer or $25K. A few people at my company have received the same calls, and at least one person that I know of has called back, and it's just a major scam to get you to listen to a time-share pitch.

December 8th, 2007 sus SC

Why can't they just be honest and tell you what it is they want, they could save themselves alot of explaining, then only those interested in a time share would bother to call them. argh! I am not stupid, I know damn well I wouldn't be confirming some expensive prize especially when they didn't address me by name. They might as well have been calling my dog.

OK so I got this same call awhile ago like 6 months ago and the lady said my name was picked out of a drawing that I did awhile ago (which I don't remember entering any drawing)and I was put in another drawing done at the end of this year(which is now)but she called and left a voicemail with her name cut out, that she was trying to get a hold of me for awhile (which isn't true) and to call her back as soon as possible and it was urgent to win and something about the ford explorer or $25,000. But when I tried to call back to see what it was it said "user busy" on my phone and won't go through. It's weird the first time she didn't want anything from me just said i was going to be entered in another drawing ??? And AZgal has the same claim # as me!!!! I just wanna know what they want!

It seems to be Arizona's turn. Same pitch many others already reported, Ford Explorer or $25,000. "Lindsay" left the message for me at home. A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to share this info and help the rest of us avoid this dreadful, irritating scam!

November 6th, 2007 Shelli NY

Got this on my work voice mail:

"Hi, this is Jenny calling from the awards claim center. We're trying to reach you regarding a promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash. I have some really good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is Claim KP1107. Thank you and have a great day. Bye."

I knew it was no contest. (I don't even play the lottery, let alone give out my work number to win some prize.) So I called to pump them for info.

The call center is in Florida, but the company they work for is in King of Prussia. The woman told me it's called Caribbean Fun Stays. I Googled and found this:

CaribbeanFunStays.com
Caribbean Funstays 1150 first ave 10th floor king of prussia, PA 19406 US Domain Name: CARIBBEANFUNSTAYS.COM Administrative Contact , Technical Contact : Caribbean Funstays billm@advmcro.com 1150 first ave 10th floor king of prussia, PA 19406 US Phone: 610-592-0390

The site says it's a vacation "wholesaler" -- "An informative, 90 minute, no obligation seminar is conducted every two hours at our state of the art Vacation Preview Center."

They invited me to their "drawing" "tonight." I told them, "No."

Voicemail message telling me to call a number because it was urgent...and I needed to give them a code: AZ (something). I don't know about you, but I don't usually call people I don't know.

November 1st, 2007 Joe VA

THe number is not the one on the ID, but rather a number to call back. The prize verification number is a trick for you to tell the salesperson, which city to show the timeshare. I got WB 764 (WB = Williamsburg). Others got HH, which I assume means Hilton Head, South Carolina. Anyway, just a thought. Also, you will never get a Ford explorer from them. I didn't even fill out a form.

October 30th, 2007 LOL OH

October 24th, 2007 Ron

I received a call on my cell phone and told me that I have won $25,000 dollars or a 21 foot boat. I just told them to mail me my check and hung up.

October 24th, 2007 Eric GA

I won the Ford Explorer!!! Oh my god I couldn't believe it!!! I sat through the presentation and then at the end they gave me the scratch off ticket. I scratched it off and I was stunned because I was expecting to get the TV.

Dave Meriwether was the manager on duty that day and he took me to the local ford dealership so I could get the explorer. I got to drive it back here to Atlanta! Man, I am soooo excited!

October 19th, 2007 DD

My husband got the same message about the 25k and the Ford Explorer... Her name was Mandy though. I called and they asked Age range, income (under or above 50,000) Email address and Name. Said the drawing was Dec 2nd. Good thing I gave them my "spam" email address and not my real one. Fake name too.
Scam.

I got the same message as everyone else from "Mandy". If this is a Timeshare deal they are not all bad. My husband and I had our Honeymoon paid for from a call like this when Fairfield was starting up (now very well known). We went to Ft. Lauderdale, Disney World, and the Bahamas over two weeks. We had to pay our air fare to and from Florida and visit a 30 minute to 2 hour timeshare presentation in each location but we got to stay in really nice Condos and had free dinners in most locations and even went on a free cruise and got discount tickets to local attractions! We got cheep air fare and really only invested about 4-6 hours over two weeks in Timeshare stuff...but did get bonus for listening. We aren't in the market for a vacation right now so I didn't call back but if you are it might we worth trying.

October 12th, 2007 Paula VA

Newport News, VA - Have gotten the same call, from a Mandy at work on multiple occasions. Never called back. This time it was along the lines of "We have been trying to reach you for some time. It's very important that you call back as this will be our last attempt." One can only hope . . .

We need to all try and get this stopped...but this is a start!! Keep reporting it! Maybe we can send this to News channel or the FBI, if they are any good or have the time to investigate...I mean investigate and find the criminal and put them under the jail not in the jail! Peace

October 6th, 2007 Cathrine FL

I got a voicemail from "Carmen" saying they had been trying to reach me about winning a new ford explorer and I was super excited till about the 10th time I got a busy tone, so i decided to do some investigating. It's really lame of whoever did this to actually do this.

October 4th, 2007 frustrated

my message was the exact as everyone elses' script except it was a Ford Explorer or 25,000 cash. She is calling on my work phone and I don't know how she got it because it is a gov phone. So I asked her and said it was from an entry I did. Well the thing is I do not do them because I know they are scams or telemarketers will start calling.

October 4th, 2007 Marisa

They also called me at work and left a message at 7:38pm. It sounded fishy since I have not submit for any prizes lately. I used this site to look up the validity. Thanks, this saved me time from getting nasty at a poor young girl just trying to make a buck at telemarketing.

October 4th, 2007 khorne CA

September 19th, 2007 Valerie TX

I only received part of a pre-recorded message, informing me that this was my last notice (never got a first one) They called from (386) 538-7515 on my work cell phone. I see that a common thread is that they call us at work, and a lot of us work for large companies w/ unlisted numbers. I'd urge everyone to check with your company to see if this is a widespread issue.

September 18th, 2007 MTA FL

Several people in my building have received this identical call. The message came in after hours and was left on our message lines.

I received a voicemail stating that I won a Ford Explored or $25K in cash. I was to call 1-800-918-4224 to claim my prize. The caller name was Mandy from the Awards Claims Center. Of course I didn't call back.

August 24th, 2007 Shaz Malaysia

i received calls and voicemails (Carmen & Crystal) at my office number mentioning that I won a brand new Ford Explorer. Don't they have any other things to do??? Just happened they left their company name in the last voicemail which I checked in the website and was very lucky for not calling back as it was a scam.

August 23rd, 2007 E. Dawn Maxell VA

Same as everyone else...apparently I too won a Ford Explorer. Thanks for the info. Not wasting my time calling back!

August 22nd, 2007 Jim TX

I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is HH592. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. August 18th, 2007 Kay

I got the same message..
But I got it on my home phone answering machine.
Here it is.

"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is HH592. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. I have tried to call the number, but it is always busy.

August 16th, 2007 Mel

Received phone call stating I have won a Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash. Gave confirmation # WB764, and stated they have tried to call several times and this would be the last and final call with toll free# to return call. I tried to call the number that was on my called id 1-386-538-7515, continuously rang no pickup.
I truly hope that there can and will be someone that will take care of these annoying phone calls which fill up the capacity of our voicemail.

August 15th, 2007 KP OH

Looks like everyone here received the same voice message. So did I at work. Not going to respond to it, deleted message, just another telmarketing ploy.

August 14th, 2007 jd NY

Carmen from Awards Claim Ctr. "Have great news about a new Ford Explorer. Call as soon as possible." Claim # HH592. I called and after on hold for 60 seconds I hung up.

August 14th, 2007 Ben TX

If anybody gets through to
these spamming scammers,
tell them I want my Ford
Explorer ! I think I'll call
the Ford Corp. and tell them
too...that I want my Explorer.

August 13th, 2007 Dwayne

Same message about winning the Ford Explorer. They used to call my cell phone all the time. If I answer the call, instead of letting it go to voice mail, they hang up. I called back and told them to remove my number from there database. They were very nice and cordial - said it could take up to 72 hours.

August 13th, 2007 Emily TX

I received a call today and it was a recording which to me is very intrusive as I cannot make a call while this recording is playing.
Caller ID said 386-538-7515 but was given a different number to call back to.

August 13th, 2007 tutva VA

Just got this vm at my work number. Same spiel, same vm, word for word. Ford Explorer or 25K cash... maybe they're out of boats. Love this site, I look up number all the time.

Same exact message...I called back and they asked me the income level, age group, and if Ive ever paid for a VK on a credit card...

August 13th, 2007 Duder. FL

I find it curious that this scam is now getting into business numbers.

August 9th, 2007 Teri

Carmen's message on my work voicemail stated that I definately won a Ford Explorer or $25,000 cash. Claim # FNJ3112. I know it's a scam cuz I haven't entered anything and would NEVER give my work number for a contest drawing. And why doesn't "carmen" use our names?

I was told to call the 18009184224 number,When I called back, they asked the questions like on what number did I received the call, married or single, age range and I was told I am on the finalist in the drawing for a new Ford Explorer or 25K cash and final draw date is dec 2nd. The "Awards Claim Center" did not ask me for any other personal information.

August 7th, 2007 AW CA

I received the voice message on my work phone, except the prizes were different. "Candy" at the Awards Claim Center said she'd been trying to reach me for sometime about their current promotion: a 21' A-liner boat or $25,000 cash. I knew it was a scam. Thanks for having this site as a resource!

August 7th, 2007 R GA

I got the call twice now. Once during my first week at my first job out of college (!) and again last night. They left voicemails both times. Does that mean I've won two Explorers? Haha, great! Btw, Crystal/Carmen, whoever it was, she sounds cute. I'm not sure if I should call to complain or ask her out...(sigh)

July 31st, 2007 Mark GA

I too received the same call from "Carmen" and decided to call back. I was told to call the 18009184224 number, but the call actually came from 3865387515. I was told I was a finalist in the drawing for a new Ford Explorer. The "Awards Claim Center" did not ask me for any personal information like some of the other callers, but asked more vague questions like whether I was single or married and my age range. After the survey like questions he told me I was now entered into the final drawing for the Explorer and to have a great day. I really expected him to ask for my SSN or something. The only question he asked was what number I received the call on so of course that was information he obviously already had and I gave it to him even though the number has been disconnected from service.

July 31st, 2007 CSR GA

"Crystal" called about the Ford Explorer on my work number. I got pissed and decided to call 1-800-918-4224 back. Here's what ensued:

I called the 1-800 back to tell them to take me off the list, but they immediately asked me the state I was calling from, then started asking for my phone number, zip code, and additional information to confirm my "winnings." I immediately told them I did not want to give it, and asked to speak with a supervisor.

I was put on the phone with a man named Richard, who refused to give me the mailing address of the Awards Claim Center and demanded to know why I wanted it. I told him that I wanted to report it to the Better Business Bureau and he immediately got hostile and told me that my business number was public information and that he could put it on their "do not call list." Then he hung up on me.

I called back again, got the same supervisor, and told him I was calling from a media organization and that I wanted him to know I was going to record the call (to see his reaction). He immediately said he wasn't going to deal with it, and hung up on me again.

Sounds more like identity theft than timeshares.

exactly same voicemail at work.

July 31st, 2007 CG

a message was left on my voicemail at work saying they've been trying to contact me and this is my last change to win either a Ford Explorer or $25,000. Since it was left on my work number - it made me feel even more confident that it was a scam.

The same thing happened to me that happened to everyone else. But where they screwed up on is that im only 17. I can't win a car! HaHaHa. They claimed to be having "phone problems" when i called and never answered my questions. Plus they never let me talk to "Carmen".
Someone should catch these people. It's all a scam.

I also have the same claim number as a person from Georgia, the same state i'm in, who got called November 16, 2006. I was called July 11, 2007.

I think I just might call the cops. Trying to sell me something is against the law. I'M A MINOR!!!!

This must be a new kind of SCAM. (Calling professionals at work.) Do they really think experienced professionals who work at the larger coroprations are really stupid people?

July 6th, 2007 WK GA

I just received the same message, that I'd won something and my claim # is xxxx. My phone number is unlisted and on the Do Not Call Registry, so I knew it had to be due to the fact I'd just registered online at Publisher's Clearing House last night. If you read their policy, they talk about unchecking the box on the accout info page. Well, the box says to check it if you want to be notified of your winning by email - oh yeah, and don't check it if you don't want "special offers" from third parties...

I've blocked the incoming phone # this call was placed on (434-878-9976, other complaints on this # in whocalled.us), to stop anymore calls. I also suggest that we all contact the person at PCH listed in their privacy policy: pch.com

"We welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding this privacy policy or the use of personal data. To contact us, please visit the Info Center of the site or write directly to:

June 28th, 2007 CIAinform GA

I too was called by
800-918-4224
given the #88592
and asked some questions which I gave false responses to. I was told of winning one of 3 prises and asked to register at a hotel in Hilton head south Carolina for a drawing of which they would pay for my hotel room. I began to ask pointed questions and was transfered to a mgr. at that point I asked organization name of which I got Fl, quency marketing.
I will continue to search this out until I have all Info and this company and then I will publish this on the we. When noticed an hebrew accent and asked her if she spoke Hebrew in Hebrew she hung up. I then called back. and spoke with the mgr and asked about who funds this organization and if they receive any federal funding. The manager dodged this question showing that this could be much more than it appears.
Thanks.

Left message on my work phone well after normal business hours. Caller did not identify who they were or why they were calling; just said it was very important that I call back and give them my claim number of "ALP9000". Sounded fishy, so Googled the number on Caller ID and found this site. Great site! Thanks.

June 27th, 2007 Kim GA

I got a call from "Carmen" using HH592. I called and I am so special that they have given this claim number out to several people over the past two years. I told them never to call me again or I would report them to the governor's office and a smart young lady said to give her my #'s and she would put them on the "Do not call list", I told her to use my "claim" number to obtain my telephone numbers. She obviously could not.

June 27th, 2007 T Scheel GA

I received a call on my work number, which I never give out. Anyone that calls it gets it from the company directory. The message said, "Hello this is Carmen calling from the awards claim center. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is HH592. It is very important to give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day." Caller ID showed 434-878-9976. June 26th, 2007 AM San Diego CA

My husband got "the" call at work, odd - we don't give out that number! Then we got the call at home and someone left the exact message as DTaylor's 9-15-06 call. Our claim # was something like F or SNCA3.... This shouldn't affect your computer if you have a firewall per my IT person. If you find something different, please post it. Thanks!

"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some very good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is DB394. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

What a dirty bugger.

June 26th, 2007 RB FL

Carmen left a voicemail on my work number (how did they get that) stating that I had one a Ford Explorer call back with claim code DB394. I did just for fun and sat on hold while finding this website. Thanx for keeping me from wasting my time.

June 26th, 2007 San Diego GA

Heard the voicemail this morning (6/26) which was left last night at 6:30p.

Thank you and have a great day." Caller ID shows " Claim Center 434-878-9976 " -- I called the 800# with my claim# to find out more... They asked if my age is over 30, marital status, and if I made over $50,000/year. Gave me a VIP# to bring to Atlantic City to win a prize in a drawing (top prize is mentioned on phone, or 8 day Florida vaction, or 27" tv) after seeing a presentation for vacation trips, etc. I asked who offered this contest and was told Shore Escape, 1125 Atlantic Ave., Suite 711, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. I stopped at that point without making reservation, etc. Since its a business number, I don't know how to report them!

Carmen's back. Just got a call around 10:48am EST from Carmen. Same script (down to the phone AND claim number) as the posts dating back a year ago. I'm glad you guys are here to confirm my suspicions. :o)

Another thing: If you have signed up for any trial offers or any newsletters/emails/etc you may want to check to make sure you take your info off their lists. "Carmen" called a number I just acquired and have not given anyone else except for this trial membership thingy I signed up for.

June 14th, 2007 SD CA

June 11th, 2007 Kate FL

A woman called my personal cell phone telling me that this was my "final notice" and that I had won something. I called the toll free number she left so that I could tell whoever was on the other end not to ever call my cell phone again. When I called I asked the person who answered, "What company is this?" The lady grumpily answered, "National Award Registry." I said, "Well, I didn't sign up for anything and you called my personal cell phone. Don't ever call this number again." She huffed, "Whatever Ma'am," and hung up on me. I was furious and have been trying to find out how to speak to a supervisor and file a complaint with the BBB or a scam site ever since.

Then they said I have been entered into the final drawing for the exciting Ford or 25K. Man, I hope I win! (Bastards)

May 19th, 2007 J.A CA

I received a message on my BRAND NEW phone line (even before I set up the voicemail). The beginning had been cut off (as if it was a recorded message), and the female voice was slow and deliberate (as if reading something scripted). The vm said "... calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for awhile regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or $25,000 in cash. I have some really good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is XXXXxxxx. This is your last and final notice. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day." I called and started asking questions about how she acquired my number, her company name, etc.. She then said good-bye, and just before hanging up, called me a 'bitch'.

Please beware, never once did she mention my name, her name, the name of her company, or the name of the "Sweepstakes" I had entered. Also, my name was ever asked.

I received this at work on my voicemail stating that it was Shannel from the Awards Claim Center and she had been trying to contact me about a Ford Explorer or $25,000 award. she gave a reference number SNRS3112 and told me to call back at the toll free number.

May 17th, 2007 Lila CA

I received the exact same voicemail on my work phone in San Diego, on 5/2/07. Same thing...I won a Ford Explorer or $25,000 cash, they've been trying to reach me, final notice, blah blah. She gave me a confirmation number, FNCA3112, and a call back number, (800)918-4224. Unfortunately, I was both curious and gullible enough to call them back! I spoke to someone who said I was a finalist...and then she asked me some "demographical" questions: am I 30-70? no. am i single or married? single. do i live with a significant other? no. am i over 21? yes. so i probably didn't meet their timeshare critera because she said i would be entered into the drawing and then that was it. i hope i never hear from them again..and if they try calling me back, they'll most definitely get a piece of my mind!!! now i feel stupid..I should have known it was too good to be true. ;(

May 16th, 2007 CX GA

I recevied this call at work and decided to call them back find out the name of the company. When I called I got through to a VERY uneducated (ghetto)individual who had NO business anwering phones (can we say ebonics)! When I demanded to speak to a supervisor he set thee phone down without placing me on hold and proceeded to hit on his co-worker. I am not lying--this is what I heard, "Yo baby, I ain't got no racist tendancies, but you are a fine looking white woman". After listening to this for about two minutes he came back on the line only to realize I had heard his entire conversation and no, I had not spoken to a manager. Well, when I finally spoke to amanger and asked him the name of the company he worked for he proceeded to give me his personal work history. Needless to say, I did not find out the name of the company and I hung the phone up irritated, confused, slightly offended and I must admit--amused at the LOSERS that stoop so low to take these kind of jobs!!!!!!

I didn't know who she was, just from Awards Claims Center and that I have won either a New Ford Explorer or my choice of $25,000.00 dollars cash. I called the number to advise this person I didn't enter anything and got elevator music. I then checked the web for Awards Claim Center and found this site.

I'm so glad I found this page! We were going to leave tonight for Branson after a call from this number. We were told we would win either a Bayliner boat or Ford Explorer, 7 day cruise, or 27" flat screen TV. We would get 2 free nights hotel stay. I began to get concerned about the whole thing when I was told we would be staying at the French Quarter in Branson, but after looking up the resort, found that it was located somewhere else in Branson! The address I was given was to Spinnaker Resorts! After reading this page, we will be staying home this weekend! I will never answer a call like this again!!

May 11th, 2007 Georgia

Guess "Carmen" has now been replaced by "Shannelle" Received a call at work - left a voice message. Message was the same as the transcripts listed below with the exception of winning a Ford Explorer OR $25,000. Caller ID showed 434-878-9976 but the call back mumber was 1-800-918-4224. I won't be calling back. Do these people really think we are that gullible? Thankfully we have this great site to check out unknown numbers!

May 10th, 2007 DG AL

I received the call (at my office)from Carmen at the Awards Claim Center, stating that I had won a Ford Explorer and that I should call back ASAP with the claim number. While I was on hold, I typed the company name on Google. After seeing the links stating this was a scam, I hung up. I knew it was too good to be true. And darn it, I really need a new car.

May 10th, 2007 SJ

Called my cell phone saying they had been trying to reach me, I had won a Ford Explorer.

May 9th, 2007 TT CA

Received the same message in San Diego. Returned the call and asked the representative for the name of the company. Star Vacation Club is their name. I would have to come go their location and would be given a scratch off ticket naming the prize I have won.

May 9th, 2007 Joe

I called the number 1-800-918-4224 They said if you live in the same state you will have same claim number. You have to listen to a presentation Then scratch off ticket to see what you won. Car,Vacation, or Money. They said you win something. She said they don,t know why they tell you you won Ford Explorer

May 8th, 2007 charles GA

You won a promo for a ford explorer or $25,000. It was left on my work number. When I called back they said that it was a promo in an attempt to sign people up for a special offer they had. I disconnected from there.

May 8th, 2007 LR TN

Same message this moring from Carmen, looks like they are still at it

May 8th, 2007 greg NJ CA

Left a message on my work phone. Here is the exact transcript:

"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is BR394. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

Called number woman asked if I was married, I said what does that have to do with getting an award, she said have a nice day and hung up.

May 7th, 2007 Carolyne FL

Reeceived the voicemail at work stating that this was my last and final notice. The first part of the message was cut off. 800-918-4224 and 434-878-9976.

May 4th, 2007 Bill CA

Apparently they are still in business. They just called me..same script.

May 4th, 2007 MN FL

LeftVoice Mail at my place of work

Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer.....

May 4th, 2007 A. Noni Mouse CA

Apparently I got my point across. They have blocked my phone number from making any further calls. I suggest all of you out there do the same to theirs. Here are their numbers:
1-(800)-918-4224
(434)878-9976

May 4th, 2007 A. Noni Mouse CA

I have recieved calls from this number: (434)878-9976, so many times it is not even funny. I actually spoke to someone once, some guy names Ken, or something like that. I chewed him out about calling and demanded he remove my number from their calling list. Just today (5/3/2007) I recieved another. Each time they call they hang up as soon as I answer and say 'Hello?'. I called back and talked to Tim. I demanded (again) my number be taken off of the list, and I got hung up on. I will be calling back, over and over, until I get my point across.

May 4th, 2007 Jason CA

Ming or Lyn (I couldn't understand her) left a message from Awards Claim Center and asked me to call her back at 1-800-918-4224 because I had won a Ford Explorer or a $25,000 Cash. When I checked the missed called it came from (434) 878-9976 - So I had to check it out myself on the internet and came across this page.

Like my grandpa used to say, "No one gives you something for no reason."

May 3rd, 2007 Ken CA

I called them and all I have to do is send them a SASE and they will send me my free cruise in the Bahamas for two which can be used any time in the next year. Which is code for "we need your address so we can screw with you"

May 3rd, 2007 TH CO

Here's a New one -- My EMAIL had a "eVoice" message -- with a number from VA (thought maybe out of country family found new way to communicate) -- had to download the evoice software, just to find out that Carmen had a Ford Explorer for us too -- now they have found a way to SPAM our email (left right after 12M)

May 3rd, 2007 AE CO

Funny, a year later from second post and Carmen called me too. Scam.

May 3rd, 2007 Ron GA

I received a partial message stating it was a final notice and I called to let them know they had the wrong number. A recording informed me I must call another number (101515800 for a new international directory service)

May 2nd, 2007 Bob FL

I received this on my VM at work at 11:11 am:
Hi this is Anabelle calling from the awards claim center. We have been trying to reach you for a while regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or a $25,000 in cash. I got some great news for you. I need you to call me as soon as possible. My toll free number is 1-800-918-4224, and your claim number is xxxxxxxx. This is your last and final notice, so it is very important that you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day.

May 2nd, 2007 dj CA

same as everyone else (won a ford or $25K from Carmen). this is a great site by the way - I didn't know it existed until i searched for this number and it came up. very cool.

May 2nd, 2007 LS

I am glad I checked this site before looking like an idiot and calling them back.

May 2nd, 2007 Holly

Looks like they are still at it, as I just received the same pre-recorded VM on my work #. My confirmation # was longer though (FNCA3112). Think the FNCA stands for Ford, NOT - Call Anyway??? :)

May 2nd, 2007 RBS - Atlanta IN

received the exact same message that others received re: Carmen and the Ford Explorer

May 1st, 2007 DR

Got the same call as everyone else.... April 30, 2007

May 1st, 2007 Joe CA

Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. or a "name of type boat" Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is BR3112. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. This is you last and final notice. Thank you and have a great day."

May 1st, 2007 CC FL

Got the message on my work cell. First part was also cut off. I dialed the # but it sounded like a scam so I hung up & looked up the number.

May 1st, 2007 ANV TX

I received this VM today @ 3:50pm. VM said you entered a sweep 25K or Ford Explorer. So I figured what the H! call them back. I do enter sweeps every once in awhile but it seemed a bit fishy so I had H2B call.
H2B gave them a call and the guy said he won 2nd place a trip to The Bahamas (6 day 5 night). He wanted to know what state we lived in and what our income is. H2B said below 25K just for laughs and the guy hung up. H2B called back and got a woman who said that they had us living in FL. Well yeah that is where our company phone # is listed but that not where we are we did mot tell her this but knew it must be a scam. The woman asked how much we made H2B said 50K I guess that was enough for her to continue to talk to us. H2B then said he was a bit skeptical since they did not know who won just the phone # the woman informed him that he must have entered a sweep when he registered for at a grocery store (discount cards). She asked for H2B to send a self addressed stamp to:

Welcome Center
P O Box 7154
Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32116

And they would send him more information on the prize that he won. What a shame it’s a scam I could use some time off from the company to go to The Bahamas.

April 30th, 2007 Ashley

Just got the same message from Carmen on my work number Friday Night. Told me to call 1-800-918-4224 claim number FNCA3112. Called the number, was on hold, then hung up and decided to do some internet investigation. Glad I did.

April 28th, 2007 Mudd CA

Phone Spam!

April 28th, 2007 NJ Res too

I received the same call from Carmen last night (Friday evening) about 7:30pm to my work phone. I fwrd my work # to my cell when not in the office, but missed the call. It was the same message about an Explorer or $25K. The red flag immediately went up when she said they have been trying to reach me for some time. Since I am reachable at the number she called 24/7, why would they be having such a difficult time getting ahold of me?

April 26th, 2007 NJ Resident NJ

I got a voice mail message on my work phone from 434-878-9976. The message said to call 1-800-918-4224. The message said it was my "last and final notice". I had no prior calls or messages from this company. The message said I was being called with some exciting news about my entry into a promotion for at new Ford Explorer or $25K cash. I tracked the (434) number to a provider in a town in Virgina named Brodnax. I called both numbers and I did ultimately speak with a woman on the 1-800 line who identified herself as Rhonda from Quincy Marketing in Florida. She asked what state I was calling from which is NJ. Based on my location, Rhonda said she was calling for a new company in Atlantic City, NJ named Shore Escapes, LLC located at 1125 Atlantic Avenue, AC, NJ 08401. When asked what promotion I had entered, she could not say, just speculated it was something in a Mall or on-line. She said that I had indicated that I liked to travel. (Who doesn't??) When asked about the Explorer or the $25K cash that I was called about, she said there will be a drawing on December 31. But now, I was invited to visit the new company's office in Atlantic City, NJ where I would be given a scratch off ticket where I would win one of 3 essential prizes. I was also asked to send Rhonda a self-addressed stamped envelope to "The Welcome Center, PO Box 7154, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida 32116" and in return I would be sent a certificate for a day cruise out of Florida. In short, I did not win anything. No mistaking it, this is a sales call/scam.

April 25th, 2007 JJ MS

Received voicemail to call Carmen "Awards Claim Center" with claim #HH592 Ford Explorer...I work at a military base...not sure how they received this number...I returned call to remove my work number from their calling list...male rep. stated, "whatever! and hung up in my face..."

April 25th, 2007 CW CA

San Diego, CA
My voice mail message at work was cut off:
"[...dred]-918-4224 and your claim number is FNCA3112. This is your last and final notice. It is very important that you call us as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

Glad I googled the partial number and dug up this site. I was a bit worried it might be a health insurance claim or something since the dead give away re. Ford Explorer was missing. Needless to say I deleted the message and didn't call back.

April 25th, 2007 Bryan CA

I called them back to tell them I work for a defense contractor and that our numbers are not for public use. They're protected under some DOD section and not even on our business cards. I spoke to the manager "Richard" who was pretty nice and straightforward. Apparently they can call any number as long as it's not on the national "do not call" list. Even unlisted numbers are fair game. His chances of reaching our classified phone structure was about as good as anyone else mashing their hand on the phone and dialing 7 random numbers. I'll talk to management about why we're not on that list if we're classified.

April 25th, 2007 Cheryl GA

I keep getting this number with the same vm msg on our vm at the office. I called and told them to take us off their list. About 1 week later we started receving calls again. I called, spoke to Richard, whom was very rude to me and told me I was harassing him. He told me he would get me in trouble.

April 25th, 2007 Mike CA

I just received the voice mail at work with the same message as everyone else. Called 1-800-918-4224. I was told that I won a Bahamas vacation. To redeem this prize I must send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: The Welcome Center, P.O. Box 7154 Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32116. I assumed this was timeshare scam.

April 24th, 2007 MLM GA

This is really incredible! Guess Carmen's focusing on Georgia now. Same message as everyone else -- on my work phone:

"Hi, this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is HH592 (or could have been 88592). It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

I check my VM 3x daily -- right, she's been "trying" to reach me! BWAHHAHAHHA!!!

"Hi this is Annabelle, calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for a while regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer or 25000 dollars in cash. This was called at my work number as well. Called back 1st time and got disconnected. 2nd call I immediately asked who the company is that was calling me, and they said they couldn't tell me until I told them my claim number. I gave them the claim number and they told me that the company name is "Worldwide Destinations", which is a marketing company located in Tampa, FL. AT&T Anywho shows their phone and address as:

April 20th, 2007 James CA

I received the same message with claim No.SNZA3112.Called back and told I had won a 5 night holiday in the Bahamas, and I needed to send a stamped self addressed envelope to the Welcome Center,PO box 7154,Daytona Beach Shores,Florida 32116.
Holidays or prizes are always the other end of the country, and you will always need to travel to collect them. This is a timeshare/holiday scam, the next step is to request a travel advance opening up c.cards/B.accts.to them or a direct loss via cash/M.order payment.Whatever they offer will cost you less if you buy it direct yourself.
I am in California

Don,t fall for it!

April 20th, 2007 EFM

I received the same voicemail message from Carmen stating I won a Ford Explorer claim number HH592. Oh and apparently she had been trying to reach me for some time:-)

I cautiously went ahead and called it answered with some freaky music playing so I hung up and decided to Google the number. Glad I did.

I live in Georgia.

April 19th, 2007 MJ from NJ CT

EXACTLY the same script with a different claim prize number.

April 19th, 2007 Ang CA

Got the same call from Mike Malone Sweepstakes prize american publishers 800-514-0049 & direct line 678-401-5655...but it was for a BMW with 25k! They said they dont know exactly how I got entered but that they think its because I was selected from my Visa CC for being a "good customer". After talking to the guy I realized that they just wanted to sell me something and get my personal CC information before getting my prize. When I told the guy I'd call him back after checking out if he was legit I got another call within 30 minutes(didnt write the number down) re: the ford explore w/ 25k. Geez, like id take the down grade in cars! At this point I said "no thanks" - the guy proceeded to insult me. Warning: these people are creeps out for your money! This is really creepy because three people directly related to me or thru work have all gotten the same calls! Don't fall for it!

April 19th, 2007 Charlie FL

Work phone - Claim # FNTT-3112. Called back and the operator "Christina" was very cagey about all this and finally hung up. Pure BS.

April 19th, 2007 Matt - again CA

OH forgot to put my claim number
Claim #: F (or S) NCA3112
Location: California
Number: My office number which I rarely give out and know from memory.

April 19th, 2007 Matt CA

Dang it!! I fell for it LOL! I should have looked up this information before I called back. I knew it was too good to be true LOL! Well, I called and this gay music started playing before someone answered. I was get'n jiggy with it. (j/k) It sounded like I was talking onto a loud speaker or something... weird... I told him I wasn't sure if this was legit and I wasn't sharing any information with him. I received the same call coming from Carmen as well with a different claim number on it. He asked me if I wanted to stop the call if I didn't think it was legit and I told him I don't like giving out information to something I don't know about. I guess according to him I signed some sweepstakes at a grocery story or mall (which I do occasionally) so I answered his questions. Basically they were if I was married, if not was I living with my girlfriend, my age bracket, if I worked or not, and if I go on vacation do I used a major CC or checks. That's it... he told me I'd be put in the drawing to receive one of the prizes Ford Crapsplorer or 25K. Either way... I don't care cuz after taxes I won't see it... I'll put it towards my school loan LOL! That's if it's legit and I highly doubt it. So many scams these days.. I need to get hooked up with a job doing nothing but calling people and get paid for it. psh! W.E.

I got the voicemail this weekend at my work number, which I never remember, much less give out.

The unidentified person offered a Ford Explorer or $25K. Claim # FNAU3112

I actually received this call twice at work (as did my co-worker). Today they called my house phone number. In reading the postings, it sounds like the claim # just indicates where you are located. Mine was FNUT3112 and I am in Utah. Kinda funny. Nice site. Glad I didn't call back. I almost thought it was legit after I got the call at both places.

April 5th, 2007 Jason

I went through the whole routine with them. They want you to sit through a one hour class and listen to a sales pitch. After you give them a little personal info the prizes get smaller. Explorer,25k in cash, 27" TV, or 7 day Bahama trip. When I refused to give them a home address they thanked me for my time (and gulability) and hung up.

April 5th, 2007 AK NY

Same as everyone else except the name used was Kerry. The vioce mail showed the call originated from

Thank God for knowing about Google. I looked up (434) 878-9976 number that appeared on my cell phone and found all of your wonderful blogs about this scam. Please, if you have e-mail, send, send, send it out to warn others.

I received voicemail message at work stating I had won a Ford Explorer. I'm in Georgia. I did not call back.

April 3rd, 2007 Dave

Got the Ford Explorer / $25,000 in cash call on my work voicemail. Instead of "Carmen" it was "Carrie." Perhaps Carmen ran out of Ford Explorers. (:

These calls appear to be from the Spinnaker Resort people trying to push time shares. They have gotten in trouble in the past for telemarketing: www.ago.mo.gov

Looks like they are using business phone numbers to avoid the "do not call registry" that unfortunately only applies to residential phones.

April 3rd, 2007 SHardy

Same Story a other post. Recieved on my work phone extention at 8:30pm. Doesn't sound like they really what to get me.

April 3rd, 2007 Cindy

Left a voicemail message at my work number....same message, same prizes mentioned above. Caller ID shows CLAIM CENTER 434-878-9976.

April 3rd, 2007 Telecom tech GA

It is federal law that if you notify the Company's Service provider that you are recieving neucense calls from a number, they are required to block them from dialing your number. There service provider is AireSpring. The guy you need to email is at locke@airespring.com I have 8000 phone numbers at the hospital I work at and had them all blocked, and it worked.

April 2nd, 2007 MG TX

I received voicemail message at my work number. Same message as everyone else...Ford Explorer of 25K cash...supposedly my last chance to redeem prize. Person started to ask for personal info 'for demographic region'reason. I did not provide. Lady asked me to have a good day & hung up. What happened to my prize? I should've listend to my husband!

April 2nd, 2007 JB TX

Called my work number in Charlotte--these guys are rude but funny. I won a prize worth lots of money, but they can't afford a stamp for me to get my vacation package?? They can keep the vacation and I'll keep my stamp.

March 30th, 2007 jb

received a call from bridgette at 8009184224 with claim #FNFA3112. i actually called back because i was curious and supposedly i won a 7 day 6 night cruise to the bahamas. i just have to send in a self addressed envelope to an address that they gave me in daytona beach, florida. they will then send me back a package that explains the trip in detail with all the terms and agreements. i wish it was legit but of course, my better judgment is telling me that it's a scam.

March 30th, 2007 MS FL

I got the same call...except it was Anabelle...on my work VM. I called back and spoke to someone who was extremely rude!

March 30th, 2007 LH GA

March 28th, 2007 JS UT

I have received this call every day for the past week on my cell phone which is registered on the national do not call list. Interestingly, the phone number shown on the caller ID was (434) 878 9976 which is in Virginia. I attempted to call both the 800 number in the message and the number on the caller ID and was unable to reach anybody. I have filed complaints with the Attorney General of Virginia and with the FTC.

March 27th, 2007 Carmen TX

I made all those calls. It wasn't a Ford Explorer or $25,000 that was a prize. It was a stored recorder or twenty nights aroused by callers...............

March 27th, 2007 Giordano LA

Same message as everyone else; my claim number was FNAU3112. I called back, the machine said to press one if I had a claim number, which I did, then was put on hold w/strange background music. Hung up after 10 mins. Great site!

March 13th, 2007 Laura UT

I got a message today from Carmen ironically enough saying that I won a Ford Explorer. I called back and told the person my claim number and asked what this was about. She said that i had won a contest that i had entered within the last 12-18 months (which i didn't enter) and that I won a 7 day cruise to the bahamas. she asked me to confirm the number that she called earlier, asked me how old i was and said to claim my prize, all i needed to do was send a self adressed envelope to The Welcome Center, p.o. box 7154, Daytona beach shores, FL, 32116. I took down all the info knowing i would never do it.

March 13th, 2007 Chris

"Awards claim center" has apparently been trying to reach me for some time.

They called my direct line at work, not my home or cell. Nor have I entered any contest to win an Explorer.

Claim TX941.

I don't plan to call.

March 8th, 2007 tl

I think Carmen was fired, because I received the same message from Anna.

March 6th, 2007 FARfetched GA

It's been three months, time for these timeshare phone spammers to call again!

This time it was Chenelle and claim #FNRS3112. I've figured out a couple of their codes; HH refers to a timeshare in Hilton Head, for example.

This is my "last and final notice" — they're probably lying about that too.

March 6th, 2007 Dana

Okay, you'll love this. I got the message on my voice
mail at work...the NEWS department of a television station! From Carmen with HH 592. I called the 800 number planning to blast them, but got the recording
run around. Now the phone disconnects me. Maybe they're using caller ID?

March 6th, 2007 Keith

Mine was from Channelle (sp?). She doesn't say that I won the Explorer or the 25K, rather that they have an Explorer or 25K promotion and that she has good news for me. I haven't called back. I checked a while back and was told that the Do-Not-Call lists do not apply to business phone numbers. There's probably nothing that you can do about this one.

March 6th, 2007 Becky UT

I have been getting this same message both at home and today for the first time at work I live in Utah

March 6th, 2007 Scott GA

Note: They do not say you won an Explorer, only that they are calling about the Explorer and they "have some very good news". Other web sites say this is a vacation package telemarketer.

March 6th, 2007 John NC

Just like others...I received a voicemail message stating I won a ford explored at my work number. From Carmen at the Awards Claims Center. I am in Charlotte. I did not call back.

March 6th, 2007 Larissa FL

I was just wondering how anyone got my work phone number, because I specifically don't give it out. Annabella called me about the ford explorer or $25000 in cash. Thought I would google it because it was strange--and way too good to be true. I think I'll look up the FCC next.

March 5th, 2007 AC AL

Comm Junk, waste of electrons and energy. call the FCC please.

March 5th, 2007 Felicia SC

Got this on my voicemail at work. Their recording started before my message was complete, so I missed the name of the group. Only said that they had good news for me and gave a claim code of HH592.

February 21st, 2007 Amy GA

I got a mesage today in a small town in Georgia, on my college dorm phone!! I made the mistake of assuming it was legit since not too many people have this number... the message was cut off at the beginning so i called back originally trying to let them know that they may not have the right number for who they were treying to reach. The message on my phone said this... we have been trying to reach you for some time,... new ford explorer, ...really good news for you,... need you to call us as soon as possible, claim number 88592 thank you and have a great day.

When i called them they said it was for my roomate but she said she didnt enter any competition like that! :( I hope nothing bad happens because I called them!

February 14th, 2007 TL TX

Got it at work... bummed its not for real. $25000 or a Ford explorer isn't bad at all.

February 13th, 2007 JArmont

This is a timeshare solicitation scam, you most likely heard heard something to the effect of,
"Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center.

February 13th, 2007 Pat CA

I received a call at my work number claiming I have won a Ford Explorer or 25k in cash. Bridgette claim she has been trying to contact me and this would be a last time confirmation number I needed to give was/is FNSA3112. They never said my name.

February 13th, 2007 Jake GA

Dang, here I thought I had won a car. Guess I won't call Carmen back. Someone else can have my HH592 claim number. Oh, wait, someone already does have it. Oh, well.

February 8th, 2007 DavidD

I received the same VM at work with the exact same message AND claim number as Matt, who posted on 10/6/06. The msg was left by "Carmen". I will not be following up with them.

February 6th, 2007 Don SC

I called them back, they are offering a trip to Florida... Sounds like a Timeshare deal.

February 5th, 2007 AV NM

Apparently I've won as well. Googled the number and found this site and others with similar experiences. I believe mine was Erica but it was a Ford or $25,000 and they'd been trying to reach me for some time and this was my last chance to claim.

January 26th, 2007 Ryan TX

They called me on my prepaid cell phone. Almost identical to the others but said I had won a cash prize of $24000 or $48000. I think that is what they said but since they woke me up to tell me I could be wrong.

January 25th, 2007 SNL

Hu, Got a call from this number and when I received it, no one said anything from the other side and hung up. Surprising is mine is new number and I have not given this number to anyone else as my fiance added this line for me.

Btw, this is great website and certainly needs some support of Ads in this.

January 15th, 2007 Danni

Called me & left a VM with claim # HH592. She said that I was a finalist to win a car at Hilton Head Island in SC. Also said that I won a free trip and to mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Welcome Center, PO Box 7154, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118. Wouldn't give her name or company info, so I immediately got online and looked for scam info relating to the phone number...looks like I found it! When I asked her where she got my info, she said that I probably signed up to win a car at a local mall, public event, or online...none of which I have done any time recently!

January 12th, 2007 steve

Effing ridiculous, they need to get the owner..... and shoot him/her.

January 12th, 2007 Charles

Got similar messages on my work phone more than once. I called back and managed to get someone on the line, and I told them my work phone number was on the do not call list, and they should stop calling it immediately. He transferred me to a "manager" who turned out to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered on a phone call. He tried to tell me that they could not possibly have dialed a number to my direct line, and when I tried to tell him that they most certainly did (why would I be calling if they hadn't??), he treated me as if I was causing the problem, so I wound up slamming the phone down in his ear. I'd love for these jerks to get in trouble for calling numbers on the do not call list.

January 12th, 2007 S in Austin

Maralyn from awards claim center that they have a Ford Exploder for me or $25K so call back with claim number snau3112. I called em back and said keep the crappy ride and the money, but do they know where I can get some info on a timeshare as I have money and time to WASTE! ;-)

Received the same message at work (Greenwood, SC) at 6:29 pm on 12/20/06. Caller did not give a name but my claim number, HH592, seems to be the same as many others. Does this mean that everyone with this claim number has to share the Ford Explorer? If so, I've got dibs on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every other month from 8pm-12 midnight est. for the next 2 years, or atleast until they call again to tell me that I won another Ford Explorer!

I'm glad I decided to research this. Needless to say, I will not be calling them back. Thanks for the heads up!

December 21st, 2006 Marie TX

I got the same msg on my work number twice. Once from Carmen and once from Crystal.

I work at U.S. Probation, Rome, GA, and received a voice mail (I have saved) from the Awards Claim Center, 1-800-918-4224, on 12/11/06 at 8:32 AM.
Said it was Carmen and she has been trying to reach me for quite some time. Said she was calling me regarding a promotion to win a brand new Ford Explorer. She said she has some really good news for me and she needs for me to call her ASAP. CLAIM Number HH512. Gave me her toll free number. It is very important that I call her ASAP and have a great day she said.

thank you, Mary deBruijn

Same stuff as everyone else said... i never sign up for anything like this so i figured it was bogus

December 8th, 2006 Cabo 16 Germany

Ok, here's the scoop...
Awards Claim Center is just a front for Cambridge Marketing which operates in Florida.
It's basically a timeshare/vaction scam.
The owner of the company is named Anthony T. Coiro. Tony was born May 8, 1940 and lives in Deltona Fl. Tony Coiro was arrested on third degree felony charges in Nov. of '98. Those charges were for theft. If you want off their list, your best bet is to call them direct at 386-740-0603 and ask for Tony Coiro. If he's not in jail there's a good chance he'll take your call.

December 7th, 2006 MJ GA

Same speech as everyone has listed above. Claim number ALP9000. How they got my work number is what I want to know! No one has the number to my direct line as it is not public. I would never use it to enter a contest, so this is interesting.

"Hi this is clara calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you for sometime regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Have some good news for you. I need you to give me a call as soon as possible. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is ALP9000. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day."

December 7th, 2006 Your Mom

Got the exact same message. My code was DB1000. The phone number that showed up after they left the message is 208-906-1009, but the CID showed HM800-918-4224.

Just for fun I called to see what kind of information they wanted. Interestingly, they did not ask for any personal information over the phone, but to claim my consolation "prize" (I didn't win the Ford Explorer), I would have to send a SASE to the following address:

The Welcome Center
PO Box 7154
Daytona Beach, FL 32118

At the minimum, they already have my phone number (since they called), they MIGHT have may name and company (IF they recorded my voicemail message) and that's about it. The rest they would probably gather if I sent in the envelope. The claim# might be related to what area code they called, but that's just a guess.

For those 2600-types that enjoy annoying these people, have fun with the real phone number that was left on my VM CID and the address they gave me.

Happy Phish Hunting!

Exact same vm from Carmen from phone #1-800-918-4224(caller id: name unknown) with Awards Claim Center, called on 12/05/06 at 08:49 pm on my cell.
I returned call and spoke with Nicole. She said, I was selected to participate in a promotion, and the first prize is a Ford Explorer, the second prize is a two-week paid vacation and the third prize is a TV. She explained, I would have to go to Hilton Head, SC to collect my prize, and I will have to stay in a hotel for two nights. She explained, I would only have to pay the taxes for the hotel stay. The VIP number I received is HTGHHB97. I told her, I would have to confirm the legitimacy of the offer and I would like to call her Customer Service Department. She gave me the following phone number #800-310-6991.

I got exactly the same message as AM. If this was a legitimate prize claim then why did I get the same claim prize number? If this is a legitimate business, then why do they have to use deception to market their product? I am informing the Attorney Generals Office so they can look into this deception.

The 1-800-916-4224 is a scam and is breaking the LAW. But Bellsouth nor any orther Government or Public service will do anything about it. The number will also tell you to dial 1-900-289-4000. They called us 5 times today. A man gave us a DEATH Threat Call on one. Then a woman told us that we would have our Phone disconnected if we do not call the 1-900 number. November 17th, 2006 Margaret NC

I received the same message from Carmen regarding the Ford Explorer giveaway on my work v.m. on 11/16. I never give my work number out, which is why I retunred the call. I wanted to be sure they did not continue calling me at work. At any rate, I returned the call the next day and was hung up on my the rep when I asked him if this was some kind of scam. I called back and spoke to the manager, Richard, who informed me that this was not a scam, but an opportunity to view a timeshare opportunity in Hilton Head, SC.

Don't waste your time calling back unless you want an opportunity to purchase a timeshare.

November 16th, 2006 Brian OK

Same message as everyone else, but I called it and they said I would have to go to Branson, MO and to tour Spinnaker Resorts. I would receive a comp 3nt stay at the resort. I would be given a scratch off after the tour and it would reveal my prize of either the Ford Explorer, 7 day trip to Florida or 27" TV. So if anyone wants to further investigate and attend please let us know. I didnt want to test it. I am in Oklahoma

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker or something like Nomorobo.
