They did their best to get my birthday and social security number while refusing to tell me one single thing about who they were or why they wanted except they "were trying to help me".
This number calls multiple times a day, every day, morning and night. I have told them I am on the Do Not Call Registry, but they keep calling any way. They are very abusive, threatening, and rude. I never had a student loan, and i do not know the person they are looking for. Just another debt collecting scam.
Here is what to do if they ask for say John Doe and that is not you... When they ask for John Doe tell them that's who you are. When they start telling you to pay your bill just say no. Tell them you have no intention to pay it now or ever. Then they start getting hot and threaten you. Tell them they don't have any balls and nothing will happen because they are gutless. Keep goading them, it's fun as heck after all you aren't the person they want anyway. I told one guy I had more money in my dresser drawer that he would make in a lifetime and could care less if he ruined my credit. It's a hoot to see how mad they get.

Remember, debtors are scum! They are thieves! They are no better than someone that walks into a bank and robs it! These debtors were given thousands of dollars under the agreement that they would pay it back, but they are not paying it back, they are running and hiding in holes like the rats they are! Bill collectors are like police officers, they are tracking down these criminals and getting them to payback what they stole. Debtors are leeches on society, sucking the life blood out of the economy, Banks were kind enough to help these people out and give them money that they needed, and how do these losers repay them? by stealing the banks money! Money that belongs to the patrons of that bank.
Left a message asking for my help reconnecting with my exhusband's current wife using her maiden name. Said she listed me on an educational document as a someone to call if they ever got out of touch. That is funny. Didn't even know her when she had that name. They should at least get close to the tell the truth. I do know she has a lot of credit issues. Wonder how they connected me to her.
1st call was in July 2009 right after I received my new phone service. Caller was rude, evasive, claimed I owed Hospital bills and refused to comply with my request for itemized billing and information. Reported the incident and company to AG .... no action they could not find the company???? (Beauracrates.... Grrrrrr!)
Finally today Jim Johnson of EOCCA calles and leaves TX # 800-896-4539 ext 14716. I did some reverse research and then recalled the number. It was answered by a female calling herself Heather and she said this was "Department of Education"..... Hmmmm short conversation and she tells me this is a collection agency office in Norwal Mass. I gave her the ref# left by jim and she found out that I was not the right person and had no correct info. So it was put me on the NO CALL LIST and GOOD BYE!

On Tuesday the jerk called Kurt Miller at CCA calls at 7:40am & wakes me up.
I've been patiently telling them for almost 2 years that the person they're calling doesn't even live in the country anymore (much less at this private cell # they're calling!) Last week the guy said "he wasn't inclined to believe me".
I told him it's the (verifiable!) truth and being an A-hole doesn't change the FACTS!
So now it's on!
I've filed DONOTCALL & Eastern Mass BBB complaints. Looked into FTC & FCC complaint (don't think FCC applies). Going to look into filing complaint with MA Attorney General as well.
Wrote the company a CEASE & DESIST letter. (Some of the laws require that communication be done in writing). I explained to them again that the person they are calling moved out of the country in Aug. '07 & this is now a personal cell phone for a different person. Just because they don't like that fact doesn't mean it's not the truth! I also said that just because the guy claims that listening to the messages he keeps leaving on my private cell phone makes me responsible for the debt- again does not mean that is true.

I'm actually almost looking forward to the next call so I can sue them for more violations!

I have told them this # is no longer a valid contact # for her and yet they wont' stop calling ME. It's no longer her phone #, I made it my personal cell after she moved out.
Starting with DONOTCALL & BBB, but if they keep calling will have to resort to cease-desist letter from Todd Friedman's law firm.
800-896-4539 - is the number to CCA. they are a collection agency based out of norwell ma. they collect for several companies. (dept of education loans, private loans, cell phones, medical, etc.)
YOU ARE RECIEVING CALLS FROM A COMPANY BY THE NAME OF CCA - THEY COLLECT ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS FROM MEDICAL TO STUDENT LOANS - THEY ARE LOCATED IN MA,GA,TN,CA - BEST THING TO DO IS TO CALL THEM AND FIND OUT WHY THEY ARE CONTACTING YOU - IF IT'S THE WRONG # - LET THEM KNOW AND THEY WILL REMOVE IT - IF IT'S THE RIGHT # PAY BACK YOUR BILL!!!
