How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I have been inundated with calls from these people about 3 times a day. I have requested their paper work from the original creditor as I do not owe money. I have sent two letters and have received no reply. They still use the phone to harass me.
On May 13, 2008, we received a call (we did not pick up) from a caller identified on our CID as American Recovery System, 1-847-709-7580, leaving a message for a Kandra Moore to call the caller at 1-800-638-5224, extension 1030, Reference Number 52414600. Concerned that the caller was a collection or vehicle recover agency, and that our identity was being fraudulently used, we returned the call to inform the caller that no person by the name Kandra Moore resided at the location of out telephone number and ask how they came to call our number in their attempt to locate Kandra Moore. When asked how they came to call our number, American Recovery stated that an "operator" had given them our number for Kandra Moore. We are posting this information because we do not believe that American Recovery was being honest in their response to our inquiry, and may be a party to fraud or unlawful or unethical business practices. Although we strive to be good neighbors (viewing the world as our neighborhood), as a result of this experience, our policy now is to never respond to unsolicited calls or unknown callers.
ARA is a very rude company...I don't even know the person they called for and they call all the time. So, I have decided to publish their info. The CEO is Robert Konkel, the President is Beth Lubeck, the COO is Brian Witon. The phone number for the corporate office is 847-709-7580, fax is 847-709-7850. Toll free is 800-638-5224 and the address is 1699 Wall St #300, Mt. Prospect, Ill 60056 ---- call/fax them and inundate them with your complaints!
Another collection agency calling where i work for a person that no longer works there. they are very pushy and nasty and rude.
