Wells Fargo is relentless - I've had extreme hardships and tried to work with Wells Fargo. Instead they harass me all day and night. I've recieved MORE THAN 100 calls from this number over that past month alone. Wells Fargo also uses many other numbers. These people are evil.

There are a lot of reasons why people get behind in paying their bills. Those of you who sit up there on your high horse saying, "Just pay your bills," have no business passing judgment on other people. Unforeseen misfortunes can happen to anyone - yes, even some of you who chide others for not paying their bills. People can lose their jobs, have a sudden health expense with no insurance, have a family member who needed help - a hundred other things. It can happen to anybody.

If it happens that you're no longer able to pay your credit cards, the responsible thing to do may be to talk to a lawyer about filing bankruptcy. These people have probably already ruined your credit rating so you may even have nothing to lose by it.

The credit card companies share some of the blame. They should have borne in mind, too, that unforeseen circumstances can arise in peoples' lives, rendering them unable to pay. They should have been asking themselves, "This is a lot of money. If it's unsecured, can my bank, my employer, afford to lose it?" I took out a small equity loan from Wells Fargo and they kept pressuring me to borrow more. "Are you SURE that's going to be enough for you? You could borrow $10,000 more. I can set that up for you right now over the phone." It was very tempting to accept it - I can buy some really nice things for $10,000 - but I didn't. To the officer's disappointment.

This is another piece in why we're in the current financial mess. People overextended themselves and the banks assumed - and talked borrowers into assuming - too big of risks.

I have asked them 3 times NICELY to remove my name. They have a wrong number. No such person has ever lived at this number. I have no CC or Mortgage with their company. The last time I asked they said they couldn't and proceeded to call 9 more times that day. I ran my credit report and everything is perfect so I now I pickup the phone and don't respond. I hope it the calls register with the phone company so I can do a Cease and Desist order and file a complaint with the Attorny General. I am moving my retirement fund from Wachovia since Wells Fargo bought the bank. I don't trust they won't access my information.

They called me at about 8 PM on Sat asking for an "Anthony." I told them that I don't know an Anthony and I've had this number for years. Next day, Sunday morning, I got a call at 8:05 AM. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Same thing at 9:45 AM. I answered at 11 AM and told the lady that this wasn't Anthony again, that my name was Alan, that I'd had this number for years, and to stop calling. She seemed incredulous and said that my number was the number that Anthony gave them. AS I WAS WRITING THIS AT 11:26 THEY CALLED AGAIN!!! I yelled into my phone, "STOP CALLING ME. THIS ISN'T ANTHONY!!!" And they hung up. Holy Crap. I didn't solicit anything. Who do I contact to report harassment?

For those who complain, and it actually isn't your number. Don't me an artard and say "Wrong number" then hang up. Stay on the line for a few minutes to verify the number. If it's a new # for you they'll be happy to take it out. Seriously, if you have the time to sit and monitor how many times they call a day, you should have a little bit of time while YOU'RE NOT WORKING to talk to them.

Otherwise pay your bills on time and they should have no reason to call you.

2008-08-14 13:28:14 UTCDONT BE DUMB

maybe just pay your bills? thats an idea. then they dont call.

OR if it actually is a wrong #... stay on the phone... explain to the person the situation ....instead of being a jerk and sounding like a total moron. if you are rude and curse at them they are going to think you are lying... DUH!

so be a decent human and act like an adult... that should take care of the problem.

these sons a b***hes called me about a dozen times today (on my CELL PHONE), I answer once to tell them to get lost, they are asking for "Mitch", I say wrong number, then they keep calling, though I haven't heard it, I get the message of 4 missed calls all from this number.

2008-04-27 15:49:14 UTCanonymous

These people call 20 times a day, almost once an hour. I don't answer the phone because it says "toll free call". They are VERY annoying!!!!!!

2008-04-24 15:33:07 UTCLori

These people WILL NOT stop calling me!!!!!!!!! I do not have an account with them and yet they continue to call!!!!!! I have told them repeatedly that I do not have an account with them, but, they still call.

2008-04-24 14:58:19 UTCJAG

These idiots have already called me 6 times today and it's not even 11:00 am yet! I'm sure they will call 10 more times today. They never leave a message. I only knew who they were because I Googled the number...one of the many numbers they use. They show up on caller id as "unknown", several different 800 numbers, and sometimes they will show as "blocked". It's so annoying!!!!

2008-04-23 14:42:06 UTCTam

They call at 5 or 6 times a day but when I answer they just hang up.

2008-02-18 21:00:58 UTCDillion

omg now this number. I barely got a number i didn't know a couple of days ago and now this so called wfart.
I wish the whole credit banking system would go away, obviously people aren't paying and the ones who do, like me, are paying for everyone who can't! I hate this! I should only have to cover myself and not someone who can't pay in the first place!!! You mean I am going to be getting numerous calls all day long from 7am?! S__!

2007-09-24 15:26:36 UTCH.

Yup they just call all day along almost every hour starting at 7am so annoying. But no message and its my cell they call so I don't waste mins on them and they leave no message and if I do answer no one is there.

2007-09-08 20:55:14 UTCticked

I have never used Wells Fargo. I answered it once and they were asking for someone I never heard of. I told them wrong number. Well, they keep on calling. Two different WF 800 numbers show up on my Caller ID. I am going to try "do not call list," but if that doesn't work, I'm ready to disconnect the line -- same as correspondent in this queue. Calls are more sporadic, but still have gotten them recently. They used to call several times a day. When I didn't answer the first 800 number after I told them wrong number, they started calling from another number! Aaaugh!

2007-08-27 23:22:46 UTCAllison

I don't understand why there is a National Do Not Call Registry at all - it doesn't work. I've signed up for it, complain about receiving these calls all the time and even called Wells Fargo and told them to take us off their list, but we still get calls almost every day. I am about ready to disconnect the telephone completely!

2007-07-20 00:34:54 UTCS

They call you about 7 times a day and just hang up - never leave a message

2007-06-04 15:11:59 UTCanonymous

just got a call at work... i dont even use wells fargo!

2007-04-24 13:07:24 UTCNot Plain Jane

This one calls all the time, mostly when I'm not here, and they are idiots, the machine answers, and there is a very long pause then someone starts saying "Hello? Hello?" Dang, people, ITS AN ANSWERING MACHINE - figure it out! They NEVER leave a message, not even a "I'm Jacko Jerk, kiss my butt- call me at 800..." You would think they could afford a calling system that could detect a voicemail when it picks up. Oh, and I have arraingements with Wells F**K OFF. They are the worst company ever in my opinion, and the worst bank. They pressure you to increase your debt with them by getting more loans. I've gotten TWENTY letters in the past year and a half saying "opportunity is POUNDING at your door!!!" I hate that. Avoid them.

2007-04-19 01:44:02 UTCSt. Pete

I don't know why Wells Fargo would be calling, as all of my accounts are paid and current. They call from this number roughly ever 20 minutes between 7pm-10pm EST, but never say a damn thing when I answer. When they get my voicemail they don't leave any messages, just a long period of silence before they hang up.

2007-02-08 07:58:48 UTCanonymous

toll free call. My guess would be to agree with comments here. Wells Fargo. I already know I'm wayyyyy past due. They didn't say anything to me though, either.

2006-11-14 09:10:37 UTCunanimous

wells fargo financial bank

2006-10-22 13:52:35 UTCS.

Its Wells Fargo calling to let you know your wayyyyyy past due

2006-10-13 11:57:50 UTCsherri howell

they just keep calling me then when I pick it up, they don't say anytinhg

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
