A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Called my cell which is also my business line. I didn't answer at 8:00 am, and they left no voicemail. Got a call an hour later from (877)502-6442 and asked for a Brian-I told them they had the wrong number. The 800 # called again after noon and this caller also asked for a Brian,and added they were looking for a Brian Swanson. If they call again, I will report to donotcall.gov for harrassment.

These people have called about four times so far today, using two different phone numbers. I answered once and they asked to speak to someone who died almost 20 years ago and said they had received a request for an school application. Sure they did. There has to be something we can do to shut these people down.

This number won't stop calling and I need it to stop it's hard enough not being able to find a job but to have people hassling you on top of it is too much.

They have been calling for several days asking for my husband. Today I asked who was calling and she said that the call is in response to an online application to a degree program. I told them that my husband doesn't even know how to turn the computer on much less fill out an application. She thanked me and hung up. We are on the Do Not Call List but it doesn't seem to stop any telemarketing calls. We even get Text Messages on our cell phones which costs us money since we're not into text messaging and want nothing to do with it.

They called and said that I filled out an online form which I didn't. The Lady said she take me off there calling list. I'm on the don't call list but some how they still call.

As soon as I joined facebook I started getting all kinds of calls. Even on my cell. Won't play any more games or crap.

And, yes, they claim that I filled out a form, when I finally talk to somebody. I assume that they pull these numbers from various data banks.

This started earlier in the week, and with FOUR different companies. I don't fill out surveys online, so I have no idea how they got my cell number. They all seem to come from New Jersey, with a variety of different numbers. One was a home alarm company, another a baby clothing service - supposedly. Then this number, of course.

Second phone call from this number. But something interesting I found... early this morning I got a call from another phone number 410-774-8401. When I researched this number on whocalled.us (find the information here: whocalled.us), I found a similar description given in the "comments". Both phone numbers have happened after taking one of those "surveys". Maybe this information will help the next person...

It's funny that R.C. had mentioned the game "mobsters", as facebook has a similar game "Mafia". And my phone rang almost 2 minutes after I looked at a free offer for points...

I play a game on myspace called mobsters. Filled out this online survey for free points and got a call the next day from this number identifying themselves as Education Advance and asking if I was looking to advance my career by getting a degree. I played along and they matched me up with an online college. An hour later I get a call from a number that says it is from Roselle, IL. They verified my name and that I was looking for a degree and then connected me with this representative for Colorado Technical University Online (CTU Online). His name was Hill Sun(or so he says). I'm supposed to call him back on Tuesday about applying for this online college and after doing my research, I have a lot of questions to ask him in order to uncover a lot of fradulent practices.

This number called my cell phone, did not leave message, I called number back and automated answer said it was Education Advance, I waited for a person to come on line, when person answered they told me their name, I told them that I had received a call with no message and they knew my first name and said that I had filled out something on the internet yesterday saying that I had requested information about received a degree (education), and said that I had not and they thanked me and hung up. - I had been on the internet the day before on a couple of sites but had not requested information about education, so I assume someone I had interacted with on the internet had given my personal information to someone else.

I called and got a bunch of bleeps, blurps and something that sounded like a fax machine. An operator came one. I said I had a call from this number. She asked the number and I told her. She asked if this is James and I said yes.

She told ask me if I as still interested in education information thru Education Advance saying I filled out something online for it. I told her no I didn't. She asked me if I wanted to advance my education.

I told her as an motorsports team owner I didn't need to farther my eduction. She then said that you and have a good day. I said you too and we hung up.

This number keeps calling me cell phone. Gets my voicemail but does not say a word -- just blank w/background noise.

Called them back. It is an online education deal. Never heard of them. Made the mistake of inquirering about online college and every stinking wanna be college is calling me now.

This number calls upwards of 10 times a day. I finally called them back, due to being SICK AND TIRED of the constant calls. They never left a msg, nada. So, I called them back, and a woman by the name of Margaret answered, stating that this was Education Services, or something like that. I requested that she remove my number from their system. After repeating my # 5 times, she got it, and thanked me for my time. Seemed like a nice enough woman... however, as I said, I did have to repeat my # numerous times. Oh well. Hope the calls stop. I have a recording of my request, so if they continue, I will pursue my legal rights... sending a letter, and all that good stuff. I'm sure it won't come to that though. It'd better not!

I started with these last month, they stopped after a while, I don't answer a # I don't recognize. I just got another, hope it isn't starting again.
As an aside, it seems there are several websites gathering info for several years, why in the bloody hell hasn't anything been done?

This is so frustrating! These people are calling my house about three times a day claiming I signed up somewhere on the Internet for going back to college. Not true! And if I did I certainly wouldn't be giving out my phone over the internet. I've asked them to put me on their no-call list twice so far.

I was in another room when the company called my cell phone, I was in another room. I called the number back and I got a recording saying the number belonged to Education Advanced. I waited long enough to be taken off hold and a person asked if I had submitted an online form about getting a college degree.

The calls are from a company called EDUCATION ADVANCE. They got your phone number from an online survey you or someone else filled out. They have my number from someone else filling out the survey and putting my number. I now get calls from this company NUMEROUS times daily. It is a waist of breath to tell them to take your number off the list - they will continue to call. I'm still getting calls and I'm at the point where I'm about to change my number... Again. They have been calling day and night for 2 weeks now to my cell #. Can't figure out how they got it. When I ask how they go tmy information, they say they are calling on behalf of "Education Advance" in San Francisco, CA. I asked for the street address and phone number, & they refused. I Googled the company name and phone number, as well as searched Superpages.com and called Directory Assistance...and they do not exist. My cell phone operator said to file complaints with DoNotCall.gov and on the FTC.gov websites...and I did. LOL...she also suggested buying a big, fat referee whistle and blow it in their ear every time they call til they stop. Hilarious. I might try it!! Please file complaints like I did to make them stop!!!!!

I've received several calls from this number and number 000-000-0000. When I call back, the phone is answered but no one says anything.

i called the number back the woman who answered was friendly. she asked me about college courses i applied to online. i took some quizzes on career choices that showed me a list of jobs i might be interested in, schools i could get a degree at.

I've gotten 2 calls. After each call I've reported them to the National Do Not Call web site. If each person who has gotten call from them would report them maybe they will stop. The web site is donotcall.gov.

If this number continues to call, I will be reporting them to the FBI, along with a few additional scam artists.

Called the number back on my dial around provider and was placed on hold for about a minute. During the wait a message said please do not hand up your call is important to us. A female operator named Andrea came on live and said "Education Advanced may I help you"? I requested to be placed on their DNC list (even though I am on the national DNC.) She was very polite although I am sure she could not tell in advance what my telephone number was it sounded like she was caught by surprise. I will file a report with the feds if they continue to call.

Called again on my cell phone. No Message. I did not pick up.

I didn't answer the call, but called back the number, and spoke to someone. They were calling me as a result of a survey/quiz I took on the internet. To get your results, you have to register and then click through and indicate your desire to receive or to reject "special offers" from a series of advertisers. Apparently I clicked "yes" on an advertiser that offers online/distance education programs (but I thought I'd clicked "no" on all of them!). This call was from the advertiser that I responded to affirmatively. They asked me if I was interested in their education programs. I told them no. The agent thanked me, wished me a nice day, and hung up. Not sure if they'll call again or not...

I called them! The name of the company is "EDUCATION ADVANCE", according to "ROB" employee # 5625. Supposedly they are "based out of San Francisco", but for privacy reasons, he refused to give me an address. I asked him if they ran their telephone lists through the DO NOT Call list. He insisted they did, but I told him I did not believe it, because my number was on the DO NOT CALL list. He then said that I must have indicated on a survey that I was interested in additional education and supplied a phone number. This is untrue. I told him that I thought the company should be reported to the attorney general. He then asked for my name and number so that he could remove me from their call list. Well, two can play at that game. I refused. The call ended abruptly.

I got a call this morning (1/16/08) around the 9 AM hour. The man who I think when by the name Eugene said that they were from some education place (forgot the name but could have been Education Advance) and said that I had filled out an internet form saying that I was interested in taking online classes. I told him that I never filled out an internet form and he said "Thank you" and hung up.

I just got a call and it is for Education Advance from and on-line survey I did. But they told my husband they were returning my call from a job application I had sent in by e-mail. Which I didnt. Sneaky!!

I called the number back from another phone and spoke to a girl named Carolyn who said the Company was "Education Advance" and told me my number was on a website expressing an interest in an education BS something...I asked her for the address of her company several times and she would not release the info. said she was not allowed to do that...I reported to National Do not Call Registry!

Just before I got the call from (800)793-0282, I received 2 calls from (954)905-4134 and (954)905-4134. The first was a man mumbling and giggling then hung up. The second was a girl asking for Linda. Then the (800) number and another girl asking for Linda. None wanted to tell me who they were.

This company was calling me at all hours of the day. I called the # back and a man picked up by the name of "Sam", he said that they were Education Advance. He wanted my info and when I wouldn't give it to him he hung up. So I decided to play the game. I called back "Sam" answered the phone I said "hi Sam I just talked to you, but you hung up on me. So lets see why don't you give me your personal information", he hung up on me. I called back, "Sam answered again, I said "hi Sam this is me again and told him that basically I will be getting in touch with the police and every other law enforcement agency across the country and that I had found out that he was in Florida as I traced the # to that area". He hung up on me. I called back, he answered again, " Sam, I am not going to play around I will start calling you at all hours of the day and night until I receive no more calls", he hung up so for the next 3 hours every 5 minutes I tried calling and no one picked up instead it would go to a recording and then hang up on me. I have not received a call since. And it has been roughly 3 months. Anyone out there that wants to play their game. Try that. Bet they will stop calling you too. By the way....it was fun to turn it around on them. : )

I can tell you something most people don't know about the Government Call list, IT DOES NOT WORK WITH CELL NUMBERS & IT'S GOING AWAY BY NEXT YEAR, if you want an agency to stop calling you call your Cell Provider; Sprint, AT&T, etc... All Cell Provider sell out OUR numbers to other agency's you may not think this can happen, but it does and it has happen. Unfortunately they don't tell you in big bold letters on your contract that you fill out, it’s in the fine, fine print. And somewhere in all the mail you have is a letter from your Cell phone company saying, "We have decide to use your number for advertising purposes, please call us if you would not like your number to be on the list!" Most people toss these in the trash. Your Cell company; even if it is a Prepaid Cell Phone it is still a-part of a company sold it to a firm to get money. At least use Paid (contract) customers have a say to our company; I just found out that Prepaid customers don't, they get screwed in this deal.

I received several calls and didn't answer the phone. After reading what everyone else had to say I called them back. The lady told me I filled out a online request for free information on the web for a college degree. The only thing is, I am 5 months away from fininshing my degree. I guess better late than never.

I told them I was returning a call that was on my called id. They said wait a minute for us to look up your number. I was on a cellular phone and they came back and said, is this Joanne so and so...? I said yes. Wow!! That blew me away but then it is not surprising with the way people can now find you. They said they was returning a call to me because I had signed up online for "Home Education to receive a degree." I told them that was a mistake and they replied that they would take me off of their list. End.

Called 800-793-0282; cannot reach anybody at this number. I know cell phone companies released active cell numbers last month to telemarketers. I think the best thing to do is register you number to the no call number list.

She says that someone signs up online for a college degree diploma and gives your name and number.Told her I was almost 60 yrs old and didnt need a college degree. also told her i was on the DNC list but seems it didnt matter to her. She SAYS..she will take my number out of their data base. we'll see how many more calls i get

I filled out a survey online yesterday and today the calls from 800-793-0282 began. I know it is my fault for doing that survey but, I am tired of the calls. If anyone answers all they will make you do is one, complete another survey. Or two, hang up because they just want to clock when someone is available at that number. In this case they pass the info on to other telemarketers that you are home at 8pm or whatever time you answer.

This # showed up on our caller ID last night at 9:32pm CST. Since I know that creditors/sales calls can not call before 8am or after 9pm I answered heard Music for a second as I said, " Do you KNOW what time it is?" I got a startled female response of, "Umm no I don't" to which I said it's 9:35pm as she hung up on me. I've had folks like this call our home # at 7:30ish in the am and I've confronted them stating I do know the law regarding any sales/creditor calls and if they called again before 8am or after 9pm I would sue them for harassment. My wife took the call and the lady rapidly and almost incoherantly rattled off her rant about protecting our business, blah, blah.
