How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

No message left - called # got RBC
I got 2 phone calls from the telephone number 1-800-769-2510 and every time I pick the handset up nobody was answering. I called the number and talked to a male who said this number is belong to the Royal Bank of Canada.
I complained about the disturbing phone calls and he was intent to get my account number what I denied to provide.
guess what?I called them like 10 times today and everytime someone answers me i just hang up+it doesn t cost me anything.they think they are the only one who know how to bug ppl ?Hope everyone will do the same thing...we gonna give them at least 1000 unanswered call.
The best thing is register your # with CRTC no calling list the site is lnnte-dncl.gc.ca then put a complain in in the site and tell them what is going on the calls to my house totaly stoped after 1 week from the complain i used to get 2 to 3 calls a day its the Royal Bank Call Centre they try to get you to get visa or rrsp or other crap the bank offer
Is Dan still workng at RBC or has he moved on to work at Esso?
This is bogus. I called up RBC today. I wasn't able to block their number or *57 (report them) as they spoofing the 800-769-2510 number.
I said to the girl, please add me to your do not call list. The girl said she couldn't, she needs my profile including name and address info. I said, by law, you're required to remove me when I request it, she said she can't. I have to give her my account info. How do I even know their legit? Is it really RBC that I called? Any way, I am making a complaint to my phone company about this. This is completely not acceptable. I dunno if this number is actually RBC or someone trying to pretent it's them to gain access to your personal info. I think my next step is to call the police and report them.
Well, they've been calling both of my phone lines for about a week. Averaging about two calls a day per line.
So far, I've been home for one of the calls, which turned out to be offers to upgrade my existing Visa to a rewards card, "Balance Protector" insurance (pays off outstanding balances for a fee), and "Info Protector" insurance (identity theft protection). The agent was very persistent, but I kept saying "No thanks" and he eventually relented. He was pleasant, but the hard sell is a major turn-off.
As for RBC itself, I do some of my banking with them, so they can fall back on the "prior business relationship" excuse to justify their calls. Still, if the call has nothing to with my own personal banking concerns, then it would be nice if they'd leave me alone.
Dropped the RBC 10 years ago. They can suck eggs.
Had a guy I could barely understand. He wouldn't leave his script. I hung up.
I finally got my number off the list after 3 monthes of no answer calls. I HATE RBC. I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THIS harrasment.
Received about 8 calls in 2 days. Apparently it is a courtesy call. I asked them to remove me from their list.

Is that a joke? It's more likely that your company doesn't want you to leave a msg because if you DO and you keep calling after you have left a message it's likely you'd be found to be legally harassing your clients. And if you don't keep calling and harrassing them you aren't going to get in touch with them cause we certainly aren't going to call you back cause we don't want to talk to you!!!
Okay Dan,
Thanks for your kind explanation. However it doesn't explain why we have to put up with this crap. I never asked to be called. I have absolutely no interest in RBC (I don't even use banks). So what gives RBC the assumed right to bug myself and these others with sales calls, especially blank calls? It is no more than a nuisance. If a parent caught their child using the telephone in a similar manner the child would be severely reprimanded.
If we were interested in RBC's services - or those of any other tele-marketed business - we would definitely ASK. We would approach a local branch and make an enquiry. But me, I'll be going somewhere else instead now that RBC has joined the ranks of losers who waste my time on the 'phone. I fully understand that this is not your fault so please don't take it personally, but don't you think you're making it worse by even working for these idiots? Doesn't your conscience bother you?
Anyway, thank you again. I hope that the government will soon pass a law to stop this kind of telemarketing. Furthermore I hope RBC will soon see sense and stop making a complete nuisance of themselves and thus driving business away.
Cheers,
Sandy.
Sorry I meant we "don't" have quotas but instead, we get a quaretly bonus based on quality of our calls and overall performance.
Guys i work for RBC royal bank and i'm one of the people that call. As someone else mentioned, it's not a third party and we don't get paid for every connect. We have an annual salary and we also have quotas. We are RBC employees. It's a predictive dialer and the reason why sometimes you get dead air is becuase the call comes through but we haven't completed our previous call which a lot of times causes confusion to our clients. We cannot leave messeges due to a privacy policy. Hope this helps!
Doesn't leave a message. Therefore, it's obviously not important and very susicipous.
I keep getting one of these calls a day. If I answer, all I get is dead air. Must be a stupid transfer agent machine.
RBC call center/ predictive dialer to customers
Called but didn't answer.
They didn't leave a msg.
Royal Bank - Selling various products and services.
I keep getting calls from this number, but when i pick up no body is there. Vary Annoying!!!!
Annoying boneheads
RBC Mississauga.
calling visa card holders to UPGRADE TO AVION VISA.
this is what they do, third party telemarketers get paid for every call that goes thru.
when you pick up, they get paid.
if you dont pick up they get paid.
most of them have a quota to fill so they have to have a certain number of calls to " connect" per day.
5000+ telemarketers on small desks with ONE master list of clients, thats the reason we get multiple callls a day from these people.
this number has called me several times with no message. caller ID shows it as "RBC"
They called us couple times and told something about retirement plan. Audibility was very bad and I didn't understand them properly anyway.
They never leave a message. You would think that if its something really important that they would leave a message. By not leaving a message they just increase my suspicion about the authenticity
just received a phone call from this number. i didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
I have recieved 23 phone calls from this number in the past week and when we answer there is no one there.
