I called sprint, gave them this number and inquired about it. They said that it was NOT their number.

I have been trying to get Sprint to do something about these people, but everyone seems to be ignoring the problem. They say I don't owe any money and they post some kind of Fraud watch on my account so that noone can access it, but they won't say that they are going to file charges against who ever is pretending to be them. These people are THICK.

they pretended to be sprint about an over due account. I called sprint right afterwards. they are not sprint yet they want your credit card number. always call the person that you intend to give your info out to

said it was sprint and I was over my spending limit. I went online and checked my balance, which said I was well within my spending limit. I believe this to be a phishing attack.

Andy, you're an idiot.

I do have a sprint phone and I am not over my spending limit or past due.
I called sprint and they said that sometimes it's just a mistake on their part. And the lady at sprint verified everything on my account: not past due, not over the limit.

These calls are legit and NOT scammers. ach and everone that complained about the calls, i am willing ot bet you that you are either LATE on paying your bill, OR over your spending limit. It is Sprints Financial Services dept calling you regarding your bill/past due amount. A courtesy call that they started doing, instead of cutting your phone off. Might wish to wisen up and pay your bills! ;)

They called my wifes phone saying we were over our limit and wanted her credit card number. She hung up on them.

2007-02-14 17:34:43 UTCCINDY

An automative service that said that my phone bill had exceeded its limits and will be cut off within the next 2 dayz, and claimed they were from sprint, this shit is a scammmm!

This number called me twice. Did not answer. Was advised by sprint not to answer. They took the info and are investigating.

2007-02-14 12:02:52 UTCSMR

Called my house and cell 3 times. No messages were left.

2007-02-14 08:45:29 UTCJAS

Toll Free Call on Caller Id. Didn't answer and left no message...

Sprint customer alert message.
Gave a reference number and told me to call them specifically at that 800 number. I know from past experience of having a past due balance that this isn't how they handle it. When you call the number back it asks you for your zip code first, another thing Sprint doesn't do. If you get called by them call Sprint (*2 on your phone) and report it. This is a phishing scam!!

they just called again and went thru the sprint rhetoric mentioned above. asked for bank and credit card info, which I did not give.
instead I called Sprint and reported the call and am now on the phone with my local police departmwnt reporting them. I suggest to everyone to do the same. after that I think I will call my local TV news and report th as well. this is total BS!!!

Upon calling back the number the recording went through that my account is over it's limit (it is) and went through payment options to rectify the issue before the account is suspended. It did ask for credit card or check information or going to Sprint.com to make the payment there. I do think that it is a legit phone call, however I do not make payments or give out cc info to anyone who calls me. Hope this helps.

This number just called, I did not answer. They did not leave a message.

2007-02-02 11:45:55 UTCBrandon

NOT SPRINT!!! These asses want your credit card info. DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM!!

2007-02-01 17:48:20 UTCLinda

Got a call from my cell and when I answered no-one said anything then the same number called my home. ANNOYING!!!!!!

2007-02-01 11:01:49 UTCfemale

Pretended to be a Sprint call- The recording KNEW my spending limit on my cell phone & HOW MUCH I recently paid, saying that that amount was overdue and needs paid immedietly before disconnection.
I hung up, and called back, the same recording came on after 3 rings.

SCAM! DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO THE CALLS.

2007-01-31 11:40:40 UTCCHRIS

JUST CALLED HERE TOO.... NO MESSAGE....

2007-01-27 12:58:51 UTCMark Fisher

Said they were from sprint. Said that my account is overdue, due to a change in billing and they wanted mr to pay by credit card. I called sprint's REAL number and they said that it wasn't theirs.

2007-01-25 20:29:20 UTCBobby

Claimed to be Sprint, however I called sprint and it is NOT one of their listed numbers. Do NOT give them your credit card info!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
