The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

Makes numerous calls every day. I called 1-800-DISCOVER to see if the number was legit, and they were able to verify that it was related to an account a member of my family has. The operator mentioned that the call frequency does increase if a payment is behind. Much as I'd like to block this, we do use Discover, so it also doesn't qualify for DNC list.

They are calling us 3 times a day on both our home and our cell. From 7am MST to 9pm MST.

Left a message on my cell phone. Automated message saying that they were Discover Card and had an "important offer for you". How lucky can I get? Maybe I should buy a Powerball ticket.

If they want to talk to me why can't they employ a real person. I entered my zip code and pressed 1 to be connected with someone. And I get we can not connect your call please call back during our business hours...etc.

Receive a call EVERYDAY at 8:07am and 11:37am. I have not called them back but I do beleive one time they were calling from Discover for a "Deal for me" regarding my bill. Funny thing is I have no Bill/no card. I do however work at night and I am just going to sleep at 7am. Very tired of the daily calls.

Was a automated call this time. We asked Discover Card to stop the soliciations, but that is when they called us from 866-290-6519 so they switched to automated service number.
IF YOU HATE IT so much as we do,we subcribed to the phone company's Selective Call Block service. We have 10 numbers we can block and our phone NEVER RINGS when we get calls from numbers we have added. Of course we have to rotate them out when someone starts getting through. We don't have the service from our phone company, but some provided a pin code that only your friends know that can make your phone ring. Pretty nifty!

I actually stayed on line and got a gal that had no knowledge of the English language. I asked for an American who spoke english. why was this foreigner calling me? I see by the different posts that it was more than likely from Discover Card.

Bullshit reminder to make a payment that is on time
Automated system offers to make electronic payment.
This appears to be tied directly into discover as THEY have name, YOU verify billing zipcode, THEY provide last 4 of card and correct amount due and due date.

I have check with out Cardmember assistance department concerning this issue and have found that this is not our phone number. We do not call out without identifying to the cardmembers that you are receiving a phone call from Discover Card. I advise that you do not give any information to this company.

This appears to be a phishing scam. I get this call numerous times daily and I'm going to call AT&T and ask to have it blocked. I am verifying this with Discover Card and I'll post a reply when I get confirmation either way.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
