When I asked them why they were calling me even though I was on the Do Not Call list, they said that they are
a non-profit foundation so that they are allowed to evade this requirement. Looks like not for profit is the loophole.
Folks who claim to be on the Do Not Call Registry--
You can be, and non-profits (like the Dove foundation) CAN STILL call you. Certain organizations are exempt. You have to ask the specific non-profit to remove you from their calling list-- or, better yet, equip your phone with blocking capabilities.

I noticed the complaints about this number stopped around the end of September, 2007. So, I decided to see if they changed numbers or modus operandi. Indeed, there is a now another number being reported here on whocalled.us that sounds like the same folks using the same robotic voice responses. Go to the top of this web page and type in the following number: 5712836422 You will see a lot of the same modus operandi. They can run but they can't hide. I did not receive a call lately from 800-679-0336. I merely wanted to let people know that they should look at complaints for the new number.
Just a reminder - Even if you are on the national do not call registry you can still receive phone calls from Non-profit organizations or companies you've recently/currently have business with (i.e. credit card companies trying to sell you on their credit protector, or policeman's ball fund raising.) However if you request to be removed from their list and they STILL call you then you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission @ ftc.gov

Today's call from Dove Foundation went a little differently from previous days. The woman posing as "Cami" today was very polite, unlike some of the others.
When I picked up the phone, she said, "Good afternoon, may I speak to the lady of the house?" When I said that there was no lady present, she said, "I'm sorry to have bothered you. Thank you for your time."
At that point, I asked if she would remove my phone number from their calling list, and she replied, "I certainly will. Have a nice day. Bye-bye."
It was a refreshing change from the usual nasty badgering that I've come to expect from them. But, having said that, I still want to kick these people down a deep well.
Recieved this call today around 3:30pm. like the other complaints, a woman by the name of Cami asked for the lady of the house.

This Cami gal claims to be a part time volunteer. There are 1184 reports on this website of this person called Cami calling. That's pretty good for a part time volunteer. I asked her to read about herself and her superhuman powers on this website. She finally hung up! I defeated an annoying telemarketer!! Goliath!

As a few others have noted, Dove Foundation has begun to call Canadian numbers in the last couple of weeks.
I'm in Vancouver, B.C., and have two phone lines in the house. Both lines get at least one call per day from Dove. If they get the answering machine, the leave no message. Even if I answer, they hang up most times. Once in a while, they ask for the lady of the house, but since I'm single, they have no use for me. That's fine with me because I have no use for them, either. :-)

Received call from this number 11 Jul 2007, (to a cellphone in Ontario, area +1-613). Didn't answer as I don't wish to pay to receive these calls. Canada has wired - wireless local number portability so a caller might not know if a number is a mobile. Still, if you don't know whether your call is costing me $, don't call...

Cammie has called me twice now. The first time she called I was working (I work at home) so I wasn't listening to what she said--thus I answered "I guess" to her first question. She got upset and said she'd call back. She called me back today. I wasn't available to take her call, so I guess she'll be pestering me again later.
This was a call from an organization "promoting better television for children" or something? They weren't particularly clear. But what was clear was that they were using a pre-programmed response system (where the operator presses a particular key on the keyboard based on the responses given - i.e. F1 if yes, F2 if no, etc).
They kept using the phrase "this problem" with regard to tv programming, which didn't make any sense to me. When I asked for clarification they just plodded ahead with the next question. "What the flying fuck are you talking about?" I demanded. At which point the automated voice told me "thank you for your time" and immediately disconnected the call.
Fortunately I haven't heard from them since.

Since I am a researcher, journalist, and frequent radio talk-show guest, I will write an article, post the home phone numbers of the "Chairman" and "Director" all over the internet. I then called Richard Rolfe at his home and informed him of the news. Rolfe, like "Cammy" and her supervisor, "Donna," hung up on me. i've gotten countless phone calls from this number on my cell phone, and they never leave a message. tonight i answered and started screaming at them in spanish. it was definitely a real person on the other end and she sounded scared, apologized and actually hung up on me.
a femail recording asked for Natalie. I said this is she & then the recording said "is the lady of the house available then?" I laughed & then the recording said they'd call back later.
Call from the Dove Foundation (NOT the health & beauty company) It was automated, and they asked to speak with the lady of the house. I said no, and they asked if there were any children living in the house. I said no, and they said the call had to do with children, so they wouldn't be calling back. "2 No's" -- Simple enough to get them not to call again, I guess.
Tonight Cami called my house @ 8:45pm asking for me by name. As I go to sleep @ 8:00 she woke me up, which really pissed me off!!!!! I asked to take a message & she hung up on me. I immedialty called the 8006790336 number back and got someone else on the line refusing to tell me the name of the company she referred to as "customer service". After I got mad and yelled a few words in her ear, I said they better stop calling my house. I saw the contact info for Scott Rolfe I think I will call him right now. My time is currently showing 10:54pm, maybe he'll enjoy a late night call to hear my frustration.

My number was called today, on Memorial day (a national holiday), asking me to see if i agree with several statements. The caller ID said "800 number," which is not illegal in my state, by any business entity... non-profit or not.

She then mentioned "FEATURE FILMS FOR FAMILIES," when I asked where they were located out of. She mentioned "Grand Rapids, MI". I mentioned how ironic it was that GR, Michigan is the SAN FRAN of Michigan.
I really didn't have time to say "NO, don't call" when she began asking for information.

I just got a call from them. A woman identified herself as Cami or something similar, asking for "The lady of the house". I replied by asking who was calling and she hung up on me.
I prompty called back the number, and a woman answered "Customer Service." I explained that someone just called from this number and hung up on me, she asked for 20 seconds to explain why. I replied "No, you are not to call me again", and she asked for my number to take me off their list.
I called (616)454-5021 and used to directory and left a message for Dick Rolfe saying I'm filing a complaint for his repeated calling of DNC.
I also told that bitch Cami that my wife died. If they call again, I'm going to say that she's busy watching The Sopranos with our 12 children.
They've called me non-stop and it's been going on for MONTHS!
I am on the do not call list as well, but if this organization is a non-profit organization (and I believe they are) the DNCR does not apply to them. Look at the guidelines for the DNCR and you'll see.
That being said....these people are ridiculous!! How they handle themselves is criminal in my opinion.

I filed a complaint with Michigan's State Attorney General (michigan.gov) and suggest everyone else here takes a couple of minutes to do the same. Michigan did indeed follow up with Dove and I received a response from Dove's lawyer. A stupid response, full of white lies; but if enough people complain to the Michigan AG, maybe we can get Dove shut down.

Next time any solicitors call just leave them hanging on the line. Say your going to get the lady of the house and then just leave the phone off the hook and go do something for 10 minutes.if these people cant make 20 calls a minute they are wasting a ton of money, if everyone just kept these people busy an extra 30 seconds you ruin how many calls these people can make in a shift and ultimately drive down their efficiency to a crawl making the whole idea a money pit.

I asked that, because they are a call center, that I be placed on THEIR do not call list which applies to all their clients whether or not they are a non-profit. This particular organization has software that updates DNC requests in real time. Many of these telemarketing call centers do not and many others do not care.

TAPE the message of the Operator saying,"The Number you have dialed is No Longer in Service, Please check the number and try your call again".
Tape that message and Let it Play every time they call. They will think your phone service has been turned off.And get tired of hearing that over and over. They will stop.

I paid for caller ID so I can see the number (and maybe the name) of persons calling me. I answer calls from only those persons with whom I want to talk. In the beginning, it took a little self-discipline but now I can ignore a phone ringing all day.

Before I found this site, I decided revenge was the best option. I have Skype and as of today (because on Friday they told me I'd been removed from their call list), I'm going to call them relentlessly, hoping to ring up some major charges on their 800 line. Sorry they're bugging y'all, too, but glad I'm not alone.
They call all the time but I never answer. The caller ID always says toll free number. What part of DO NOT CALL LIST do they not understand. My kids are grown and gone and I think it's up to the parents to teach thier kids what they should or shouldn't watch on tv or anywhere else for that matter. If these people want to sell movies they should put them out in stores and see just how many they do sell, instead of aggravating everyone with thier bull----!!! phonecalls.

Unfortunately, your representatives in Congress exempted both themselves (i.e., politicians) and charities from the DNC restrictions. If any future candidate ever comes out with a promise to make the DNC list apply to EVERYONE, he/she'd win in a landslide.

I subscribe to a feature thru my telephone company called Call Screening - it allows me to add telephone numbers of callers that I do NOT wish to receive calls from, to a list. It works wonderful for calls like these. My rule is, if I don't recognize the number or name, then it's likely not anyone I need to talk to.

Ha, they called aasking for the lady of the house. Talking all about promoting better tv for children. I dident allow her to talk to anyone but me. I told her how I dont care and nither would my busy mother. As she was talking about violence kids see i was playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas a game that involes "violence" and jsut placed the phone on hte speakers. Guns, screams, and explotions. Unfortunately I think this Organization is capitalizing on a loophole in the Do Not Call registry that allows "certain" fundraisers and "non-profit" groups to be exempt from this list. I would try petitioning the Do Not Call registry to include this organization in their database.

I called their main phone number and asked to speak with someone who can take my phone number off their calling list. I was promptly put through to a gentleman who took my number down and said that he would send the information to the call center and have my number removed from their calling list.

Caller I.D. showed this number. I did not answer. The answer machine took the call. A loud beeping noise was playing, then it shifted octaves and beeped some more. I believe they do this so somone will pick up the phone which will indicate to them, someone is there. I've heard that often, they are trying to find what times people are there or aren't there. When they know someone is there, they can sell this information a solicitor has a better chance of reaching a "live" person. If an answer machine answers, this information can also be used (at a later time) to call and leave a "message" from a solicitor to return the call.
They constantly call! It's some conservative "family values" organization, trying to make a profit on promoting TV & movies to parent children, instead of the PARENTS actually acting as parents.

These people have really been pissing me off lately. Somehow they've managed to get my cell phone number, and for a few months they had been calling once or twice daily. Finally, after being able to guess about which time they were going to call me, I used call forwarding to forward my phone to 1-800-weare18, and I haven't received another call from them since. LoL.
Cammy called, asking to speak to the "lady of the house." This was the 2nd time she'd called and the 2nd time she'd asked to speak to the lady of the house. When told she was not available she asked if she could call again later. I declined. She asked if we had any small children or grandchildren in the house. When I told her no she said she wouldn't need to call us again. I guess since her only purpose is to drum up support from families, this is the answer to give her to get her to go the hell away. (If not, she'll get reported since my number is on the Do Not Call registry.

She was soooo bummed out when she got met with that info and the fact that I knew of lawsuits. I reminded her that I'm on the DNC list, but she tried the charities are exempt thing, but in the middle of her attempted justification, someone on her end cut her off.

This number has been calling my home repeatedly for four days. I have Caller ID and it just says "UNKNOWN CALLER." I get two or three calls every day when I am home on my lunch break. My caller ID says they are calling repeatedly throughout the day. Today they have called every 15 minutes since 7 a.m. They never leave a message and sometimes they only let it ring once or twice, so I couldn't answer it even if I wanted to.
Called 14 times yesterday and 8 so far today. Wont leave a message and I cant get to the phone in time.

I get calls from "800 service" or this number in particular came up as FREE TOLL in Caller ID. I take the phone off the hook for about 1 second and hang it back up. I PAY for my own phone. If I am called, I report on the FIRST offense. It stops the calls quicker than "if you call me again." Trust me. Just report them on the first call and don't talk to them. Talking is how they make their living.
This is not a business plug, but I have Sunrocket phone service and they allow me to block calls from any number I want. You just click on the nun in your call list online and it blocks. It really helps for those annoying calls that never stop. Just being helpful.

During the summer Dove and WalMart.com were doing free shampoo samples or something. They continue to do them every so often. I'm pretty sure that's how the organization got my number- as you have to fill it out on the WalMart website when requesting your sample. I use my cell phone number when I fill these types of questionaires out online- which isn't often- because this is what happens... even if you're on the do not call list.

I've been getting these calls on my cell and it's been pissing me off.
As has been noted on this page, the Missouri Attorney General reached a settlement agreement with these perpetrators several months ago. I tried to explain that parents need to take responsibility for what their kids watch and I am against censorship in any form.

After saying that there was no woman of the house, I admitted that I was the man of the house. I have been getting these calls day and night on a voice line and a fax line.
We've received several calls from this number as recorded on on Caller ID. Today I answered the call. "CAMI" sounds real until you answer NO to all questions and get a reply she will call back. I called the 800 number and got a response in a few rings. The lady was pleasant and said she would remove our number from their list as requested. It's unfortunate these steps have to be taken but if it works..........
I keep getting calls on my cell phone from 800-679-0336 and they never leave a message. the calls come in during the day while i'm at work and can't answer my cell. I'd never heard of this company before i Googled the 800# and have no idea how they got my number.

Received a call from this number on 10/12/2006. My answering machine picked up and since it's set to monitor calls I heard the woman ask for me by name before she realize it was my machine she was speaking to. I am on the National DO NOT CALL list.

Call came in early, shortly after 8AM. Caller ID showed Tollfree number. I'm on the DNC list, and become very annoyed with these phone calls. I called the number on my Caller ID and asked the person who answered the phone who they were. She refused to tell me. She proceeded to go on about entertainment and wanting to speak to a parent or grandparent. I said I was neither. She then asked for my phone number so they can put it on their DNC list. I then became worried wondering who I just gave my phone number to. That's when I found this website explaining who these people are. I'd really like to know how they even got my number in the first place.
Called and left a message for my fiance to call back definitly, even though phone is listed in my name.
Called the number and had a nice talk with the lady on the other end. She admitted that it was a computer generated call and that charities come under diffrent guidlines than the national do not call guidelines. She took my number and put it on their do not call list. They responded, "The Dove Foundation." I told them that the FCC will be notified. Please make a complaint to the FCC if you receive a call from this number, before they change it.

Anyway, I make it a rule to only donate to local charities - so they aren't going to obtain any money from me. There are just to many scams out there. I will tell them that. They don't have a local office, they don't get money. If I don't support their cause, they don't get money.
As for cleaning up TV. Parents take responsiblity for what you allow your family to watch. I have raised my kids and I had no problem telling them no to certian movies and shows. It is just as easy to turn the TV off as it is to turn it on.
If individuals can't take responsibility for their families TV and Movie, then maybe they should rethink being a parent.
I have 3 unlisted cell phones and one unlisted home phone. All are registered on the do not call registry. Yes, I know politicians and non profits are immune, but I thinks that's just plain silly. No one should be making unsolicited calls, asking for financial support. There are better, more effective and more creative ways than calling people at obscene hours. Have receeved over a dozen calls from this company over the past month. However, these calls are coming in as RDS SVCS and a computer generated voice states that they are selling "special" satellite tv subscriptions in my area. Push 3 to be removed...however never get removed. Finally, the past two calls have pushed the number 1 to speak with a representative and they promptly ask for credit card number to intiate an "order".

I asked what the call was in regards to, and was told it was something to do with the number of teenagers in the household and....before she could say more, I told her the number she was calling is business number and that it was also registered on the FCC "DO NOT CALL" List and requested (pointedly but politely in MHO) to promptly and permanenly delete my number from their solicitations listing.

This woman called at 8:30am, a bit early in this household, and then asked extremely leading questions about the direction hollywood is going. She asked didn't I think that it was hard to keep my children safe from all the violence, blah blah. I told her that as a parent, it was MY responsibility, and that although I am a mommy, I am also an adult, and as such, enjoy grown-up movies sometimes. I asked her to please take care of her own children, and allow me to take care of mine. The link a few posts above states that they are conducting the first "unbiased" survey about family programming, but there was nothing unbiased about this survey. It will be meaningless.
I hope I was rude enough to stop her from calling back. At least not at 8:30am - my "unsafe" child wasn't even awake yet!

I've gotten calls from this number 2 or 3 times a week for two months. I don't answer unavailable calls, and I am going to report this number to the phone company.
I called the number and kindly asked the person to remove our number from their list. (I had called before and got the same run-around about having 20 seconds to ask a question.) This time, however, the person who answered my call apologized and for the inconvenience and stated that she would remove our number from their list immediately. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

This is my fax line and I don't accept incoming calls other than for facsimile messages. However, this is the third time this week they've called and its always about this time of day.
I get this number on my caller ID everyonce in a while. I have answered a few times. but just hang up when they say can I ask you a question.

I called back and another woman, when asked, said that it was Dove Foundation, a charity. I asked to be removed from their calling list.

The Dove Foundation is using that status to solicit sales for Feature Films For Families, a for-profit organization that sells DVDs and videos. This is little more than a way for a company to evade the law and use non-profit status for personal gain. If you look at the charity report provided by the national Better Business Bureau, you'd discover that the chair of the board is compensated. Reporting Dove to your state Attorney General, the BBB (both local and national), and the Federal DNC seems to be the only thing we can do to potentially stop this fraud and harrassment.

I'd suggest that everyone show their displeasure by "returning" the Dove Foundation's calls to the above number, or sending a FAX or e-mail explaining that their unsolicited calls are not welcome.

I am on the do not call registry, why are they calling?

Computerized voice asking for the lady of the house. Then hangs up. Called 3 times.
Calling from Dove and asked for woman of house. I told them there wasn't a woman of the house. Then they asked for the man of the house. They asked me a leading question if I thought the TV ratings had been too laxed. I mentioned that when I was a kid, we had no ratings and we all turned out fine. Parents need to take responsibility for what their children watch.
We were not home and they did not leave a message. I called to see who they were and someone said "Customer Service" and that I had "20 seconds" to ask a question. I disconnected right away fearing it was a fraud. Who are these people?
Called Aug 9th 9:00AM asked for lady of house, I said she is in Calif, then Cami said just to make sure we are calling the correct house are there any children or grandchildren in this household. I hung up. I see this number about 3 times per week on my ID
I looked to see who had called me when I was out. I saw that number on my caller id, no message left. Called at 2:46PM and it says Customer SVC. I am on the Do not call list.
We am registered on "DO NOT CALL" and still get these calls on both phone in the house.
Several calls from the Dove Foundation. Also on Do not call list. Please collect this and take to FCC
Calls are from alleged non profit Dove Foundation of Grand Rapids, MI. Sometimes does not understand "Do Not Call Again" because it is a computer. You can go to Michigan Attorney General's website and file online "Do Not Call" complaint. Reason: A non-profit even has to stop calling you if you tell them to stop. Note times of calls. Even report hangups.
The female caller asked to speak to "the lady of the house" and I replied that she was not at home. The caller then said "I am with a non-profit organization . . " so I hung up.
Called at 7:15. Rang a couple of times, then stopped, but recorded on caller ID. I have had this number on my caller ID many times, so I decided to Google it and see what I could find.
Several calls, the last on 8/4/06 at 1945EDT from the Dove Foundation. Also on Do not call list. Please collect this and take to FCC
Cami called from Dove on my other home line saying same thing "may I speak with the lady of the house". I said that I had asked not to be called again and if she called again I would file harrassment charges but she kept arguing with me. I hung up then dialed the 800 number. After about 20 rings someone answered and I explained that if their "charity" called me again I would file charges. I asked if she understood. She said she would remove my number from their calling list. (will see what happens)

Calls frequently during the day but leaves no message. I called back after 5 p.m. one time and got no answer.
Calls - hangs up upon answer - maybe my call zapper.
Called from "Chase credit services" about fraudulent use of my account, even though I have no chase account.

Called and asked for Linda, I told her it was me and asked who this was, she said Cami. Then asked for the woman of house, again I told her it was I and she hung up. I called the number back and asked who it was. They said it was about making TV better for children. She said she would remove our name from the list - although we are already on the National Do No Call Registry.
These people are calling trying to clean up Hollywood and soliciting support for re making Hollywood to be more suitable for family values. I was very annoyed by this call.

they call repeatedly and will not stop calling despite repeated requests- they keep saying "We'll call back later" even when I said "Do not call this number again"
