How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Got a call from this number, asking for someone who doesn't live here. Called & told them "john" doesn't live here. They said we'll mark it as a bad number.
The reason you can't get through on the 317 number when you return the call is because companies can't force you to call a number that may cost you money. The # they leave on the message should be an 800-562-2525. SAC is a company representing the Guarantor of student loans with Sallie Mae (NOT Fannie Mae or Freddic Mac as some people think), Citibank, Wells Fargo, etc etc. The representatives at Student Assistance do not need a payment to get you up to date, they have other tools provided by the government and your lender, providing you havn't exhausted everything, in which case they have contact #'s to get you up to date. Do not avoid this call. Student loans are federal debts, and can be garnished for repayment should they default. The good news is if SAC is calling you, you aren't in collections yet.
its Student Assistance Corp. they work for USAfunds, which is a guarantor for several student loan lenders(Wells Fargo, Sallie Mae, Nelnet, Suntech) they only call if you get over 60 days delinquent on your student loans
so quit whining and pay your bills

Phone call was on my cell phone which was currently off. They left a voice mail looking for "vanwooten". "Andrea" from Student Assistance was calling and they asked you call the number or visit solutions.usaphones.org which doesn't work.
you guys are sure this is sallie mae? Im gunna be pissed if it is. I was getting several calls all throughout the day, but this was back in february. The calls finally stopped but i recieved another call today. Hopefully this isnt starting again!

You call them then they call you right back after you get off the phone with them. I am getting thier fax number and waste some of their toner.
They call all the time. Weekdays and Weekends until 11pm. I'm not sure how they even got my number which is unlisted. They won't stop calling even if you answer. someone help!

Googled the # and it came up as "Contact Us/USA Funds."
I think that gives you the answer as to who it is. Sallie Mae, Student Assistance Corp., USA Funds--all the same, really.
Getting about 10 calls a day, starting at 6 AM, from these people. They keep asking for a "Jennifer Heart", and I've had my phone number for 2 years, and know nobody with that name. Guess it's a deadbeat student who gave my cell phone number to them.
I keep getting this call on my cell. I finall answered.
I told the guy to put me on the do not call list and he asked if my name was correct. I told him "yes, but put me on the do not call list." He pretended like he did not hear me and asked to verify my address. I told him again- put me on the do not call list. He said "I can't do that, this is regarding your wells fargo account" So I told him "Do not call me again, I will submit this in writing" and I hung up. SO RUDE!

I didn't answer. The message on my voicemail from this # was from Student Assistance Corporation and the website they said to go to was usafunds.org. I guess it is related to student loans???
