How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I received a few calls from this number 800-609-5666.They called and asked for me.It's a bill collector for money I owe for my cancer bills that my money tree in the back that yet to produce.I could care less for these people and I think they use another number that comes up on caller ID from Greensboro,NC.The number is 336-698-3337.My life right now is more responsible them to pay these scum.
Here's the little problem with falsely claiming to be the wrong party: The FDCPA permits a collector to keep calling your number for ''obtaining location'' if it's thought your story doesn't wash. It may not take much drilling into their many choices of databases to decide you're a liar. Many agencies will use that excuse even if your ''not me'' story is true.
For under six dollars in USPS fees you can send a written cease-comm notice USPS Certified with return card. This gives pause to the agency as it establishes a paper trail for a potential consumer lawsuit. However, cease-comm is recommended only if the debt isn't yours or it's aged past your Statute of Limitations. If there is any small chance the account can be pinned to you, dispute and make the collector validate. The FTC describes this letter process.
A validation request places a temporary gag order on the collector until proof of claim is presented. Within the same notice you may revoke some or all permission to call about the account, in the event validation is sent to you. Some collectors find that too much work and walk away.

They called me for a bill at a Dr. office in Greenville,S.C.
The Dr. Office was not useing the PO Box # so I never got the bill.
They were very polite with me when I explained about useing the PO #.
I payed the bill & have had no problems.(would have payed the bill sooner if I had gotten it).

This phone number is for a collection agency. If your voice mail activates , the caller will assume this validates their claim against you, at this point the best thing to do, if you own them nothing is to dispute the claim on your credit report.
Also received a text message from this number that said "Nothing to Display"
