Finally got a live person. The company is Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. They're a debt collector. Said I had a Cap. One mastercard that I owed money on. I never had a mastercard through Cap. One, so I asked her to send me a statement so I can review it. She got very bitchy with me and said they don't send out statements. After arguing with her for five minutes about getting a statement, she hung up on me.

The lawsuit names Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, L.L.C., as the defendant. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, an Illinois limited liability corporation based in Chicago, collects debts on behalf of various entities, including credit card and installment debts.

I receive three hang ups and one recorded a message a day from Tanisha Blackwell with a call back number of 1-800-608-5436 x1531. The callers always ask for Marilyn or Charles Brown. This is a tactic to get you to call them to tell them you are not the people they are looking for. They capture your number when you call back. It is illegal for them to say they are someone else but I think they can get away with lying about who they are calling for- they are calling on debt that has been settled or expired. I think they bought really old hospital records. They block the caller ID number and *69 is not available. I would join anyone who wants to file some class action suits against these dishonest people who are clogging up my answering machine regarding debt that does not exist.

I have not received any written correspondence from them, yet they call. pukes. Called my phone and "Roger Bass" left same message as the other complaints.. I went to their collection website, sent them an email with my phone number, told them I was on the Do Not Call List, That they were not my debtor, To stop calling.. Told them I save my emails, (sent and received) and I have detailed phone billing.. That if calls did not stop a complaint would be filed.

He rambled their name again, something Recovery Solutions, then he asked if I knew of any way of getting a hold of this person being I was not her,-then we were disconnected. I was able to find this site by googling all I had for a "business" name: Recovery Solutions. I had some setbacks in my early years out on my own-show me someone who hasn't. However, I am blown away that there may be information from years and years ago that has possibly been SOLD to this corrupted company. I will be watching on here for any suggestions and leads.

Debt collection service for someone that had our telephone number over 3 years ago. "Steve" claims that they use an automated service to collect telephone numbers to populate their database.

If they are really a collection agency then why the hell are they calling me. I'm only seventeen and don't have anything for them to collect. How the hell did he even get my number? Its a cell phone. I never bother answering.

I get calls from this company 3, 4, sometimes 5 a day. And the pre-recorded message states that it is a "Roger Bass", but does not state what company he is calling on behalf. Its a collection agency called Leading Edge, LLC. They have several lawsuits pending as of right now. I googled their company and it doesn't look good for them. They tell me that I owe money THAT I DO NOT OWE. When I did talk to them I told them to prove it by sending me detailed information as to who I owe, what I owe and for what reason. I told them that I was recording the conversation, of which I really did, and that any further correspondence other than by mail would be collected and filed for complaint. They still continue to call, in fact they just called twice and I saved it to my phone. Both times the phone rang twice and THEY hung up after the second ring. I didn't even get a chance to answer it.

They keep calling. There is no one here by the name of "Ricky". They were to remove my number from their list. This company is very persistent. Leaving messages on my voice mail saying it is urgent that I call them. When I asked who this was the caller said "Ken". When asked from what company. He was getting upset and ask to speak to "Ricky". Again, I asked what company he was calling from. He told me some kind of "Lady Shave?".

This call came to my Cell Phone also saying, "this is Mr. Bass i need to speak to you TODAY. this is NOT a sales call.

I just recieved this call from this number. I just want to know why? I know by checking my accounts that all is up to date...so why? These guys are calling me just about everyday...I'm tired of their calls.

As soon as a got home I Googled the phone number and found this site. I am glad I did not return the phone call. I am debt free and no debt collection agency should be calling me.

What's with this company. Dispite the harrasing tone of Mr Bass's voice, I politely explained that I'm not the person they're looking for and they get all hot and bothered because I won't add my real name to their database. Now they've started calling even more often. What can I do?

I got a call from the Roger Bass machine and for legal reasons, doubt he even exists. Since the recording didn't even say who it was for, I considerd him a solicitor for soliciting and wasting my time, so followed the advise above and reported the call to donotcall.gov

I'm not going to waste my money hiring a lawyer to track down and prosecute this company and I'm not going to give them my name and other details to add to their corrupt database.

I believe this a debt relief agency - not just collection. Trying to solicit your business to help you get out of debt. I would not call - to me this is an unsolicited sales call.

I think we've got about a dozen calls from Roger Bass. I always thought a person had to call and ask if you were willing to listen to a recording, but there's no person. It's just a recording and doesn't even say who they're calling. I don't know anyone anything, so I'm sure it's a wrong number, but I'm not going to call and give my name to them. I'm going to follow the advise of the person who recommended.

I've been getting a lot of calls from collectors looking for someone who had my phone number in the past. The most recent one was this - they left a voice mail similar to what's been described in other messages. I called back, told them that I don't know who the person is, and they politely told me they'll get my # off their list.

I actually answered this and someone hung up on me after about 10 seconds.

This is a least their 6th try. All they would have to do is leave a message and identify their company name giving factual information regarding their "important matter" that they eluded to, for starters. However, I did send a complaint to AT&T with a long list of problems that this outfit has (see my previous post). Also, checked their BBB report. Big surprise: unfavorable report. My real name is very common and there is no address listed in the book. Therefore, I must assume that they are fishing and need to find a warm body to sink their talons into. Otherwise, they could send a letter but that would cost too much vs. automated calling robots. Will keep you posted.

BTW, telco will probably tell me to purchase call blocking. Why should I pay to have jerks with shady records stay away? Anyone else gone through this? Thank you.

This rash of calls started March 7, '08, and is an automated recorded message that say it's "Roger Bass" calling about something important. I've received 5 calls to date (none of which were answered.) Research on the net confirmed what others have found that this is a some sort of collection agency game to snare you into defending that you are not the person they think owes them money simply because they've reached a live person. I have had a similar episode happen where some other collection agency was calling several times a day! I relented and answered the. BIG MISTAKE. The began by demanding I pay them $1,100.00 immediately or it will jump to $1,800.00 with penalties and admin. costs. After going round and round getting nowhere over several weeks, I finally sought help with the local U.S. Federal Trade Commission's lawyer who advised me to send them a certified letter demanding that they cease calling until they can provide a "written certification" of what they are alleging I owe. The lawyer also instructed me to cc: FTC and his name and title. Poof, no more calls, letters, threats. Maybe this is the same deal, new millenium, because I don't owe anyone a dime. I'm thinking of calling the phone company to complain and see if that might be effective.

I just rec'd a call from a Roger Bass, stating it was not a sales call, that he must speak to me immediately. I must call back. Called my house 6 times between 6p-9p last night(11/20) plus 2 other times earlier in the day between 1p-2p. Out of the 8 times it called only left message once, some kind of automated message that I deleted from my machine before it finished.

Roger Bass is a fictious name or "fish bait." Don't waste your time by calling them. Instead, try to write down the message left and when (date, time and phone number left). Then go to the FCC.GOV and submit a complain. Don'f forget to register your phone numbers in the Do-Not-Call-Register. Call customer service in all your accounts and memberships and confirm that you opted-out (do not share personal information).

We got this phone line turned on less than 24 hours ago (just moved here) and have already received a call from these people. There was no voice or recording on the other end though. They called right at 8AM, so I'm none too pleased.

So much for them not calling me anymore today. They're still calling.

I followed advice from LAC, and called the number there. They said they could not take me out of their system but could mark me to not be called for one day. I've been getting calls every few minutes this morning. My cell phone company says they cannot block the calls from this number.

I did this in a polite way and a rude woman agreed to take our phone number out of their system. I told her there appears to be an entire website where people report they are receiving mysterious calls from her company and she said "you don't have to tell me, ma'am."

Take heart my friends. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions (LERS) got a little taste of thier own medicine this weekend. I've beed dealing with them for a few weeks, putting up with their crap, and I finally took action. I warned several of the collectors to stop the calls, but they ignored me, thinking I was at their mercy. Well, this last weekend, 'some-one' hacked into their voice mail system and changed dozens of messages. Callers were no longer greeted with the standard: "you have reached the voice mailbox of..." Instead they got a message stating the person they are calling is a low-life moron that McDonalds wouldn't even hire for flipping burgers so they became a collector" Other messages referred to coming out of the closet and relationships with barnyard animals.
I'm not advocating that anybody should do what is described above, as it seemed to force the company to shut down it's voice mail system up until at least today, and probably prompted numerous calls from offended customers that called in and reached these messages. Just wanted those of you out there that have been subjected to their harrassment to know that Leading Edge got a taste themselves. Their numbers are: 800-608-5440,

Got the same ol' call everyone seems to be getting. Called back using skype as suggested. Took a long time to actually talk to someone. Finally get a real person, and the call wasn't for me, or anyone I know. And again, they asked me to prove it wasn't me by the last 4 numbers of my ssn. Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Needless to say I took the required steps to report them. Hope it helps. Seems that this company's abuse has been around for a while. Still can't believe that the lawsuit didn't take hold yet. Anyhow, I'm blabbing now. But yes, make sure you report this if they contact you.

Thanks for the posts here. I too couldn't get through, so I called [(800) 663-4707] and asked for Mr. Bass (in my rudest tone) and they asked if I was Jeremy sombody. I said no and they said I wouldn't be getting any more calls. We'll see, but it seems legit, we get lots of collection calls for people who used to have our number.

Got the same call two days in a row. When I returned it the first time yesterday, they would not identify themselves. Today, they identified themselves as "Leading Edge" and they told me they were a "financial services" company. I googled them and it appears they are a collection agency.

Adding that I telephoned the general number. They were looking for someone else. They said they would be removing my number and that it would take 24 hours. This person calls our house twice a day, at 9:10AM and 4:30PM. There's always a rude message for Ms. Brown, and I don't know anyone by that name. I'm tired of these people calling when I'm at work, and I'm not even the person they're looking for. Very upsetting.

This message has been going on here for far too long. Have reported it to the FTC and sent an email to info@leadingedgerecovery.com from a sneak email account. Also gave them a link to this page so they knew their days were numbered.

This company called my home number every day this week and left a rude automated message ordering me to call a Robert Carmichael at 800-608-5440, which is not a working number. I googled the number and finding this list, called the company at 800-663-4707. The first time I called, I was transferred and then hung up on. The second time I called I spoke with someone who claimed that my number was not in their database, and therefore, he was "unable to help me." I will keep calling them as long as they keep calling me. I also reported them to the do-not-call list as well as to the federal trade commission. I read on here that they were being sued by the state of Illinois as of Jan. 07, but since it is now Apr. 07, I wanted to make sure I reported them, so it will be known that they are still conducting these rude, harrassing phone calls. Incidentally, I don't have any overdue debt so they must be seeking someone else anyway.

There is something really shady about this number. My phone number has been in my family for 50 years, so I know it is not "accidentally trying to reach someone else" It was my grandfathers & I took it when he died 17 years ago. My credit is in excellent condition, I see my report annually. So there is no legitimate reason for them to be calling. They must just trying to get return phone calls to log numbers...possibly to sell information?

I got a message at work stating that it was urgent for me to return a call to Kim @ ext 1722. No orther info given. Don't have a clue who this people are.

They were calling me at work and i noticed a posting from a guy kevin on this website from another debt collector redline recovery and the guy said to go to adviceontime.com to get info. I was shocked because that website does have a lot of good info and its free, they dont even require you to register or anything. i tried one of the letters and they havent called me! I hopes it works for you guys too.

I've been getting this same call for months. I called them using Skype and they owuld only identify themselves as Leading Edge and would not specify their business. (I know from here that they're a sleezy debt collector.) I told the woman that I wouldn't give personal information over the phone and she said that she can't look up my information without that info. (Duhhh!). She was quite rude and said that they'll be calling me again tomorrow. I've put their number in Skype and dial them with mute on every few minutes now just for fun.

Just got a call from John Edwards - same as what the others experienced. "It's in your best interest to call today, I'll be making a decision concerning you" with no other info. Left the callback number of 800-608-5440 x1506.

Don't ever call an 800 etc number for one of these guys back from your real phone or cell. The *67 Caller ID Block does not work on 800, 888, 866, etc. numbers. These numbers use ANI, Automatic Number Identification which you can not block with any keys, not *67 etc. These collection agencies have programs that will capture the ANI you are calling from with your name and match it with your collection name and bingo they know how to eventually get ahold of your directly.

Because the 800, 888 etc. party is paying for the call they have the right to know who is calling their number, so that is what ANI allows.

If you do need to call them back try an airport phone or payphone, the best way is at a hotel room phone that has free 800 call out.

This is a new one for me today. I have many calls from unsolicited people...I've been on do not call list...I'm reporting this one too. So should everyone @ wtc.gov.

got my first call today, at work, from "robert carmichael." added my work phone and cell to the DNC list, but have to wait 31 days before i can file a complaint for calls made to either number. sigh. i do believe the collection agency is pursuing a legit debt of mine, but my delinquency hasn't been intentional; i was laid off and simply couldn't afford to continue making the installments i had worked out previously. has anyone here had any experience with leading edge in terms of working out or fulfilling a legitimate debt? i'm curious as to how they may be to work with if i am ever able to get a hold of anyone there to discuss it. regardless, though, my legitimate debt is no excuse for such blatant violations of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act). the company who owned the debt before leading edge got it was Capital Management, and they were incredibly out of line in terms of violating the FDPCA. i'm considering filing suit. siiiigh.

After the 500th time you've called a particular number and get no response, perhaps you should use that arrogant brain of yours to look up the phone number in question and verify that the person you trying to reach still has ownership of that number. Or maybe listen to the voicemail message that identifies the callee, and notice that the name does not match the person you are trying to reach. Do you think repeatedly calling and annoying honest people is going to get them to call you to say "bugger off"? Calling back is just a tacit acknowledgement of your shady business methods.

I didn't think that this many adults were afraid returning a telephone call, as if they will be frozen and unable to hang up the phone if they didn't like something someone said to them. The reality is that about 50% of you are annoyed because some deadbeat's phone was disconnected and their # was reissued to new, yet wrong parties. The other 50% are actual deadbeats, and their phones will get disconnected soon. Then this cycle will repeat. One is able to differentiate between the two by observing the poor spelling, grammar,and punctuation. The inablility to construct a basic sentence, and general stupidity. These factors contribute to a person of low intelligence being unable to earn enough money to escape debt. They are people too ignorant to handle the simple math necessary that a normal person demonstrates in order to prevent them from spending more than they earn. They are raised within a criminal culture of taking what doesn't belong to them and then screening phone calls for their deadbeat parents, eventually growing up to be lowlifes themselves and subsequently teaching their own children(of which stupid people have many)to steal and try to cheat the system, avoiding phone calls and filing bankruptcy(legalization of theft). It seems that if all these people do is take away from society and create economic burden in the form of debt or taxation to the normal person in the form of welfare programs, then it also would seem that the world would be a better place without them.

I called the number(800-663-4707 instead of the 800-608-5432) some of you have posted about Leading Edge because I was getting those rude messages from Roger Bass too.They are a collection Agency and they were actually looking for the people that live downstairs from me. I spoke to a person that was nice and they took me off the list after I explained.

I got the same calls a month after I turned on my phone service. I called them & they said that they were calling for Elmer Jackson. I see the state of IL is suing them. Hopefully they will stop.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed a lawsuit against a Chicago debt collection agency for allegedly using unfair tactics, intimidation and misrepresentations to convince consumers to make payments when, in some instances, the consumers never owed the money.

The lawsuit names Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, L.L.C., as the defendant. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, an Illinois limited liability corporation based in Chicago, collects debts on behalf of various entities, including credit card and installment debts.

Been recieving very rude calls from this creep on a daily basis, sometinmes twice a day for the last four months. It's a collection agency out of Chicago. Haven't responded...not going to. Will be reporting him and his company to the national do not call registery ASAP and will continue to do so until "he" stops calling my number

Left a non complimentary message stating he had left numerous phone messages, none to my knowledge, this was not a solicitation call and that we were required to call back immediately. With this 800-608-5432 phone number to call, as this is my extended work number when I am out of the office and working for a Telecommunications Company my next call will probably be to the F.C.C. … Have no idea as to the reason or relevance of his call but without a detailed reason why a response is not going to be provided.

I have received several calls from Roger Bass. I am not returning the calls and will continue to hang up as soon as I hear the recording. If this was a legitimate call, there would be a real person on the other end and a reason for the call would be given.

I've been receiving these calls constantly for the past four months. Mr. Bass comes barking on the machine as do other socially unskilled folks yelling at me to return their calls and "good luck." Goo luck? Why would I want to call these people back. I get the impression they want to screw me over.

I phoned them and they were looking for someone else. But, the lady told me there were a collection agency.

Same as everyone else. I'm working on submitting a complaint to the BBB also since the FTC isn't doing anything about these jerks. Who is hiring these guys without checking them out? If I was sending my AR to this guy I'd get fired. BBB has had 125 complaints in 3 years. If everyone here filed, it might help.

How come "do not Call" don't sue them?

Got the same rude message as everyone else from Mr. Bass. I called back and they asked for a maiden name from 15 years ago. I said no one with that name was here. I asked what the name of the comapny was and they wouldn't tell me. I called back and they still wouldn't tell me the name of the company. I called back a third time and they humg up on me before I could ask. I recommend you call them and harrass them every day with a rude message. Maybe they would be so busy answering the phone, they couldn't answer the phone!!! They won't take my calls anymore. I will be calling every 15 minutes for the rest of the day.

Got a very nasty voice message from Roger Bass today saying that he'd left several detailed messages(there's been no voice mail on this number for 3 years till 1 week ago). Said this matter needed to be addressed today or else!

This jerk keeps on calling (Mr. Bass) even though I have a block on phone from these calls - I live in Fl.

Didn't bother calling them back, but they've been calling for a week now. Tried to call them back to get them to stop calling got an "All circuits are busy" message. noone's overdue with any bills in my household.

This company has called many times and after reading these comments I called the office number and asked for them to stop calling and harassing me. They asked for the number being called and said that number is not on their list. The guy that answered the phone when I was transferred was EXTREMELY rude and hung up on me after I told him that I wanted to be removed from their list and I was on the DNC. He said that the DNC does not matter to them! They have called many times with the same recording everyone else is getting. I reported them to the FTC as I suggest all of you do.

same as everyone's comments. I believe they are acting on behalf of MCI. I have a credit for my bill & it hasnt yet posted. Takes two invoice cycles for it to appear & MCI customer services do not inform the other departments of the credit & it appears that they is a debt that ought not to be there. Since this incompetent reporting by MCI, I have received numerous calls from Mr Bass & have since cancelled MCI.

After a 100+ calls over the past few months, only a few of which even resulted in messages being left, I finally got fed up after getting another pissy message from "Mr Bass". I called the number back; it rang for a while, then sounded like it was transferring me to somewhere else, then the called dropped.

After that I called the number for Leading Edge Recovery [(800) 663-4707] and was transferred to a guy who said they were looking for a Lisa Jackson. I told him there is no Lisa Jackson here and he said okay and thank you. Stupid me forgot to confirm that he was going to take my number off of the list, so if they do call again, which I have no doubt of, I'll make sure to get them to confirm it.

My wife got the same automated voice from a male subject claiming to be "MR. Bass", with the same info as everyone else. I AM on the do-not-call list and have reported this via your link. I do NOT have any out-standing unsettled debt according to my credit report so I don't know what is going on.

I called them back - they are a collection agency. In my case they called for someone who doesn't live here, maybe someone who had my number previously. They supposedly removed my number.

Been getting the same calls as all that have reported here on this site and we are sick and tired of it. The calls are for someone else and not us. Told us that it would take 24 hours to remove our phone number.

The nice receptionist transfered me to a RUDE lady and she explained that "Roger Bass" is an Automated System and then put me on hold the longest time, I hung up and called back. Got the same RUDE lady, I just gave her my phone number (NOT my name)and told her I want to know why this A-HOLE keeps calling me and leaving RUDE messages. She repeated a name, I said "NO, that's NOT me," she appologized for any inconvience (not sincere, still in a rude manner) and said she would remove my number from their system. I will report back if I receive any more calls from this deadbeat retarded harassing company. They are totally unprofessional, and obviously hire people with no social / customer service skills. MORONS!

I've been receiving RUDE calls from "Mr. BASS" for over a month. I see below that these are calls from a collection agency. I've received rude calls from collection agencys at this number before for someone that is not me. I have filed a complaint with www. ftc.com and will be calling them back and harassing them back. I say everyone that gets these calls should call and be rude back until they get the clue.

It took only a minute to report a violation of the National Do Not Call registry at wtc.gov.

See these sleazeballs at leadingedgerecovery.com. They claim to be a reputable collection agency based in Chicago with national coverage. Their homepage brags about their professionalism.

I get the same message-It is very rude (the tone of the voice) but the number is 800-608-5440 and the voice says it is Robert Carmichael who does not seem to exist either!

got a message yesterday (10/30) (a man) saying to call Mr. Bass at this number. that this is not a sales call. and to call TODAY.
today, the message was a woman saying to call Mr. Bass that he had left us several calls. yesterday's call was the 1st and only other one.

Leading Edge Recovery is in fact a Collection Agency. “Mr Bass” is just a name for their automated calling system.
In speaking with one of the “Agents” the person they were calling for, at my number, has not been here in 15 yrs. When I told him that…. his response was “can you prove that” I invited him over for a visit…….

Call again yesterday. That's three days in a row.

Same message as the others. Yesterday it was from his secretary saying Mr. Bass has left numerous messages (didn't get any) and I need to call him right away.

Mr. Bass has called two days in a row leaving multiple messages. I called and had them take me off the list.

Very Rude tone call showed an 800 number. I did not answer it. The message said

I called the number, and the person who answered the phone said Leading Edge. I hung up because I do not know what this is about. If it is important, they can call back, and leave me a nice, detailed message regarding the reason they are calling.

Yesterday we got a call from the lady saying that Roger Bass had left several messages (he hadn't). Today we got a call from Mr. Bass himself.

I share a name with several others in town; me, lawyer, mechanica, insurance agent & deadbeat. These calls are entirely automated, and ask me to call Roger Bass @ 800-608-6432. I'll not call. They can write or call with a live person. I expect that it's not a legitimate call, but rather for the deadbeat, & if & when they get through with a live call - I'll tell them to take me off their call list. I'm on the National Do Not Call list.

They are a collection agency. In my opinion, they have violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I am attempting to put togather a case file to forward to the Federal Trade Commission in hopes that they will levy civil penalty's against "Mr. Bass". In my opinion, they have violated rule 806 Harassment/abuse. This is based on a lady who has filed a report with out agency and has a "nasty" voice message on her machine. Please document all of the messages and if possible, do not erase them from your machine. All of you need to file complainits with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov You can also view a Title VIII-Debt Collection Practices on this site. Be sure to check out the publication entitled "FTC Facts for Consumers, Fair Debt Collection. It has the ways and means of levied penalty's on page three.

I saw Stef said "Leading Edge Recovery" I can confirm that. I called a collection agency about my account settlement and they said they sold my account to "Leading Edge Recovery" So, here come the calls:

Be careful of returning the call. I believe this is a scam to bill your phone to an out of country forwarded call. I have been investigating a few like this...they bill you sometimes into the thousands.

My understanding is that Rogers is getting beligerant with people. Still am unclear as to the purpose of his calls.
