Who Called Us

this guy keep calling my phone, but without name display, only the phone number, when you pick up the phone, NO one will talk with you, don't know how to do.

I am resident of Ottawa and after repeatedly refusal of their service to WEEDMAN, they send me surprise invoice of 230 bucks.. howz that, now I am fighting with BBB and consumer protection for this scam.

Over all WEEDMAN threatening me that they are goint to collection agency to spoil my credit history.

Please be careful with WEEDMAN, if you get call from anybody saying WEEDMAN just hang it up, never speak with them.

Some guidelines on this issue will be appreciated, pls. reply me on rajadatta.joshi@gmail.com

Samething happens to me and I live in Montreal (Quebec). Is there any solution?

They keep calling and hanging up when we answer in Edmonton Alberta. They seem to be trying to establish patterns of when you are at home.

THEY CALLED 3 TIMES TODAY 1ST 2 NO ANSWER THE 3RD TIME I COULD HEAR SOMEONE TALKING AND I KEPT SAYING HELLO HELLO THEY FINALLY CAME ON AND WHEN I ASKED WHO IT WAS THEY SAID WEEDMAN I TOLD THEM TO TAKE ME OFF THERE LIST AND SHE SAID OK OK WE'LL SEE TOMORROW

I don't even answer the phone when i see that number don't have time for that kind of shit.

they are calling 3 times a day.Is the do not call registry not working?

These Weedman are getting on my nerves not only are they scammers but are rude as hell! THEY LIE SO BADLY! The called one time and i picked up and they said about a their service coming around the neigborhood to spray pesticides on dead grass and i'm just like..ok? and that was all! they are sending me invoices up to $220 or so just out of the blue and i NEVER agreed to pay for anything and they claim that they told me on the phone about all the invoices! We called to complain 3 times now! the first time we told them that we didn't agree to PAY for anything and to stop whatever they are doing to our grass (it still looks the same as before btw) The second time, we called becuase they came back and started spraying our grass even when we specifically told them NOT TO! third time we called was today to complain and the lady on the phone was giving attitude and so damn rude? This Weedman is a huge joke and a huge scam! this is so frikin ridiculous! not only they they have terrible manners, they are unorganized and ridiculous!we have to take them to court soon LIKE SERIOUSLY

Same thing happened to me this past two weeks. They hang up after 3 rings if I don't get to the phone on time. Twice I picked up and the first time, they said that we've used their service in the past (ummmmmmmm no I don't THINK so) so I told them we are not interested. The second time I picked up, a lady said the same thing and then I told them my parents are too cheap/frugal to use a lawn service and she started quoting the bible (WTF!) about honouring your parents. And then I ask her well when did we use the service and she couldn't give me an answer.

By the way, Karen still managed to get her sales spiel in, even while I was in the middle of complaining. Looks like I'm going to get some brochures in the mailbox whether I want them or not.

Had a very bad time with Weedman, today. I have two phone lines in the house; they phoned six times on one line and twice on the other, all within a span of 1.5 hours. Most were hangups, but I managed to get an agent named "Karen" on the line once. After I explained how annoying these calls were, she explained that the hangups are due to an automated system that listens for two rings, then picks up on their end and waits for a voice. When it detects nothing, it hangs up. That's why most of these calls end after three rings. By the time that we hear the third ring, the automated dialer is already in the process of hanging up.

Anyway, Karen said that she would put my numbers on their do-not-call list. She also stated that it would take up to four days for the numbers to be removed. I do know that the number removal works, but is only temporary. The last time that I was put on the DNC list, they began calling me again after exactly eight weeks.

So, in the meantime, I guess the only recourse is to call the BBB.

Tired of receiving these calls. If Weedman - or anybody else - Leave me alone - Calling here for nothing & having nothing to say very annoying!

After 5 calling the 1800 number back 5 times and being hung up on I finally got through to a nice lady named "pat" she, said she was very sorry for the other csr's behavior they have some young ones there, took my telephone number for the do not call list!!!

They called 2 times today, first call was a hang up 2nd one the girl was laughing, said hello mr xxx...I said i'm the mrs...she hung up on me ....I tried calling back 5 times and they hung up on me everytime.....who can we report these people to????

After an absence of nearly eight weeks, Weedman has started calling me again. So far, it has just been hangups whenever I answer the phone. Doesn't seem like a very good way to drum up any business... ;-)

Caller ID showed 779-4720 to 473. Phone Number showed 800-586-0734. I picked up the phone. There was no one at other end. They called at 8:28 pm CDT, March 11, 2008. No need for lawn care here for a while.

They call every year and what irks me is their pesticides are know carcinogens and have been linked to pet illnesses and even a few animal deaths.

Regular calls from this number. I practically have it memorized. After 3 rings they hang up. What a pain.

please everyone who gets a call please call consumer protection to stop this scam. I am sure if there are enough complaints they willdo something to stop them.

It's a big scam.
one of my collegue start getting invoices for lawn services when he never asked for, he had to call consumer protection and after months of fight they canceled invoices. Just complain to consumer protection so they do soemthing about this company and their scam.

I had a week's respite from the Weedman until they called again today. The guy on the phone was very pushy. When I refused their offer of a free evaluation of my lawn, he wanted to know what was was wrong with me. "But, it's free!" he kept saying.

Even if they offered to pay me to evaluate my lawn, I'd still refuse to do business with these cretins.

Well, they're still calling. Twice yesterday and twice today. As before, they let it ring three times, then hang up, so that the answering machine doesn't pick up. Looks like I'll have to call them again and tell them to piss off.

I can't wait until Canada's Do Not Call registry comes into effect on Sep. 30, 2008. It can't come soon enough!

Well, this is the third time that they've phoned and hung up right in the middle of their opening sentence. If it wasn't so damn annoying, I might find it humorous. Anyway, I phoned them back and actually got a real person on the line. I told him to remove my number from their database. We'll see if they honour that request or not.

"Chris" phoned again, and hung up again, right in the middle of a sentence. So far, this telemarketing technique is not making much sense.

Well, they phoned again today and I picked up. The fellow asked for me by name, then said "Hi, my name is Chris", then promptly hung up. Very odd.

I live in Colorado, it's the middle of Winter, no need for lawncare, plus I don't have a lawn. Also, how did they get my number?

These buggers just called again for the 3rd freaking time this week. They called at 8:50 pm!!!! I don't have a lawn!!!!!!!!! I live in an apt. And they probably use pesticides. I sent them a nasty email to piss off. Maybe they will stop????? There is 3+ feet of snow on the ground - what's wrong with these freaks???????????? Are they that desperate??? Guess so but when they call at 10 to 9, I get really mad.

If you are on the Do Not Call List and you currently have no business with this company or have not had any business with this company in the past, then what they are doing is illegal. Report them to the Do Not Call Registry!!!

Apparently, this is the Weed Man lawncare people trying to drum up some business. They've called a couple of times in the last few days. They always hang up after the third ring to avoid letting the answering machine pick it up.

Calling, asking if it is okay to give a quote, or something. Not even in the same country as I.

calling a little late at night. no message when phoned back no answer. A little fishy suspect its a scam, especially not showing a caller id.
