I just did a lookup on a 533 0231 phone #. It was not able to pull the numbber up. It told me to try another number. I have the official phone and fax number for BofA. As well as the address.
Phone: 704 386 5681 Fax: 704 386 6699
Corporate Address:(BofA Headquarters) 100 N. Tryon Street BofA Corpotate Center Charlotte,N.C. 28255
They have called here and harrassed my husband and I relentlessly until we thought we would go crazy. I finally answered with an alias. A man answered and asked for me and I told him Mary was not in. He preceded to ask for Mary and I asked him what this was all about. He started getting annoyed and kept asking for Mary. Angry at this point I demanded he tell me what the nature of this call was and he kept on asking for Mary. He said it was a personal business matter. I told him not to ever call here again and he kept saying he was going to call back so I snapped at him. He started to argue with me and developed an attitude. He finally said somewhat nervously it was not a solicitation call and I was so angry and shaken by this time I hung up on him. I received another call. I answered and heard my name twice and I said nothing and hung up. The following call. Yes there was one more with dead air. These calls don't sound legit to me at all. I don't bank with BofA and I don't want to deal with them. I really think this may some sort of scam operation going on to get personal information. I would be EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE!!!

These dirtbags have called me SIX times today. Caller ID comes up as UNAVAILABLE. This is NOT Bank of America. This is a Collection Agency they hire. They are outsourced out of India and barely speak English. They have been told over and over again that cease communications letters have been sent. They STILL call. They have been reported to the FTC THREE times and to the Do Not Call list at least EIGHT times in the last THREE days.

Answered the phone, and hear a recording "All of our agents are currently assisting other callers, please hold for the next available agent." I've been putting the line on hold and wait for THEM to hang up. What a pain in the you know what!

company is fia card services. it is legit.

Seeing as how I don't even HAVE a BAO card I don't know why they keep calling, but the last thing I would do is call THEM>

This number is for Card Services, whatever that means. When a company calls my home and starts asking question after question, I never offer information. I start in with my questions. Who are they? What company are the with? What is their phone number? What is this call concerning?

They usually give you that much information, and I simply respond with, "Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to file a complaint with the FTC! Have a Great day!"

I received this call today. showed up as 999-999-9999. told me i should call 800-533-0231. when i looked on here and found it's most likely boa, i called boa (the number on my bill).

i have two accounts with them-all of my accounts were paid and i was fine.

i wouldn't call that number back. call the number on your bill. i think it is a scam of some kind.

2007-08-12 16:47:10 UTChuh uh

These guys called on a Sunday morning and when I answered, there was a canned message telling me that this is not a solicitation and that I needed to call them back. Huh uh! Don't ever call ANY number you either don't know or they don't say what company they're with!

Now I see here that it is likely a scam. It could be they are trying to determine when you're home and then selling your info to telemarketing companies. Ugh!

It is Bank of America - Visa. They didn't want to give me much information, I had to drag it out of her. Very strange. Apparently I underpaid my bill by $3.00 two weeks ago. For $3.00 she was demanding that I do a check by phone or my account would go to collections. For $3.00??? This happened to me about 5 years ago as well. Went from 2.9% interest to 24.99% because I accidentally mispaid the bill (that time it was only $1.00). Those darn yearly card fees mess up my automatic payments! So, they are legit(she was able to quote my payment amount and total balance due), just not very professional or polite.

These schleps call 2-3 times per day, never leaving any info about who they actually are. Calling them confirmed they are B of A.

2007-07-15 23:12:18 UTCEricLander

I've received a message from them a few times in the past week on my voicemail. It was Bank of America's VISA Billing and Collections Center.

The reason for the call was that my account was over the credit limit, and would have gone into collections had I not called them back.

If you have a BOA Credit Card and you get a message asking you to call this number, it would certainly be wise for your credit ratings to handle it.

A looped recording left a message on my machine to call them back at (800) 533-0231, with no other details, but caller ID showed them as "Product Dev," (303) 280-8689, which has its own listing here at the Who Called Us site...

2007-06-27 00:08:48 UTCbob

2007-06-18 00:05:18 UTC2 smart

This is a scam. They try to get info out of you like you have an account with them. BE CAREFUL!

I believe the person calling wants the person called to be so curious, they pay the money to try to find out who it is and the person making the money is the caller.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
