How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

sent letter to the addneess and the will be answer that way put it in black and white please . thank you have a real nice day.
trying to scam people for money and get in there bank accounts also .
They call everyday at least once, sometimes twice. I have the number blocked but it still shows up on my caller id.
Caller ID is Toll Free Call. Monarch Recovery aka Academy Collections. Diane Mazzacano is Senior Vice President. Her address is 4 Kelso Ln, Riverton,NJ 08077. Telephone 856-303-9473 & Company # 215-281-7500. Sleezy collection agency trying to collect very old debts known as time-barred debts. These debts are barred by law from being collecting via any legal means as the statute of limitations to sue the person in their home state has expired. (5-7 years in most states) In lieu of legitimate means to collect the debt they use trickery, intimidation and lies to get people to give over their bank acct. or cc numbers to pay bills from 5, 10 or even 20 years ago. Never, ever talk to them or give them any information as they will try to milk you dry. Probable SCAM
They call the fax line and I have no way to stop it. You'd think by now they would have figured out that squealing noise is not a real number. Can they be THAT stupid?
Called cell phone...hung up...left no message...
someone asking for "Steven", at some address unknown to me.
Called my cell phone early this morning, asking for an "Eric Handlin" told them they had wrong # & hung up.
As already discussed in this thread back in October, the DNC Registry does not apply.
Deb, skip trace calls which you ignore are annoying but don't strictly abuse your rights. The collector gets one contact to "obtain location" of the alleged debtor. You have not yet had contact. Not recording a message is unhelpful, I grant you, but this may be an abundance of caution on Monarch's part to avoid triggering a lawsuit over privacy.
You might want to start logging all calls from MRM to establish an annoyance pattern, but frankly "two or three" daily is considered borderline. My advice as ever in these "not me" cases is to send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.
They call two or three times a day. Monarch Recovery. They do not leave an message. We have no debt. They are looking for information on an family's member debt that does not live here. They are abusing our rights. On No call list.
I think we get the picture, JW. The FDCPA gives special attention to workplace calls. When you or the boss tells them to scram, they must obey. No one should be shamed into uncontested compliance with a debt buyer.
Fun fact about MRM: When still known as Academy Collection Service, this agency in 2008 was spanked for $2.25 million by the FTC for chronic violation of debtors' rights. This remains the highest fine ever handed to a debt collector. Shortly thereafter ACS rebranded as Monarch Recovery Management.
Called my work number. Two rings, a hang-up and no voice mail. (03/03/2011) (12:33p)
Called my work number again. Two rings, a hang-up and no voice mail. (03/03/2011) (12:25p)
800-503-3852 - has been showing up on my work phone... several times today... about 30-45 minutes apart. I will not answer unidentified callers on my work phone. When are these people going to wake up? (03/01/2011)
Received call on my cell phone. 02/28/11 (7:54p)
800-503-3852 - 11:35 a.m. Showed up on my work phone. I will not answer numbers not identified.
YOU CALL THIS NUMBER EVERY DAY MOST OF THE TIME YOU DON' T LEAVE A MESSAGE. I THINK YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MICHEAL HADA OR SOMEONE TO THAT EFFECT. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN. THIS NUMBER IS 319 294 6665. I WILL BE FORCED TO GIVE THIS TO MY ATTORNEY. PLEASE CORRECT YOUR INFO SEND AN APOLIGE.

They continually call my cell about three to four times a day.
Peaches, the FDCPA bars calls which incur cost, including to mobile phones. Use that contact data to tell the agency just how much it's in the wrong.
I second New View's motion. Complaints to the Bar association and the AG of the collector's home state are also good moves. Don't forget Federal and state laws exist to help in direct confrontation. Collectors caught making blatant violations often settle out of court.
Call logging is good practice for any collection activity, for finding a behavior pattern and monitoring for violations. If the collector changes numbers like socks or munges CID or spoofs a number local to you, those little phone games soon won't fool you. Raising a Fair Debt defense on these terms can be subjective. The mandates against calling "with intent to harass or annoy" and collector misrepresentation are not rigidly defined, perhaps deliberately so. However, as one guideline, if you run out of fingers from one hand counting a day's calls, you might be near the actionable threshold.
Why not just keep a record of the dates and time of each call? Then, when you feel you've
been sufficiently harassed, report them to the Chief of Police in the city in which Monarch
or Academy Service.org is located. I have found the police to be extremely helpful in getting this kind of thing stopped, provided you have sufficient evidence to prove that they are harassing you with fraudulent representation of themselves and their desire to obtain information from you regarding your financial matters. They will likely turn to another
phone number and keep trying the same thing. Just keep reporting them.
I'm keeping records of dates and times of each call and will definitely report them when I've had enough of their scam.
Get calls frequently on new cell phone. No one has tel# but my husband & kids. I have no debts.Calls are from Monarch Recovery old name is Academy collections. I checked several sources & found Diane Mazzacano is sr vp of this company. Her address and tel# are:
4 Kelso Ln
Riverton,NJ 08077
856-303-9473
Company Tel 215-281-7500
Fed up with the calls? Capitol Hill is responsible for this mess.
(Our corrupt politicians).
Check out the link and see what I did to these credit card collections hogs.

Just for the record, Academy Recovery & Monarch are the same company.
Don't give these scum-bags one bit of info and not one red cent of your money.
If people would quit paying these bottom feeder collection agencies, they would
all collapse. As they say in the Wizard of Oz... be gone, before somebody
drops a house on you.
To "Bobert" and the many similarly confused respondents on this site: For the umpteenth time, the DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales. Charities, debt collectors, political speech, and surveyors are all exempt as they are not included in the FTC definition of "telemarketing". This was made known to you when you registered your numbers. The exemptions can arguably be sales by another name, but that's the rule as written.
More recent entries here raise several issues. In short, if you are receiving misdirected or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, which regulates bad collector behavior and provides a private right of action. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. You may however soon find that your verbal demands to limit or cease communication, as allowed by the FDCPA, are often ignored. You will have to place the discussion on a paper trail to enforce regulatory compliance. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov.
Calls for someone who has never lived here. Must be computer driven, as only an automated message is left on my machine. I do not answer 800 calls, and most leave no message, but these people do. Name of person and account/case number are given, with a number to call. Says if my answering maching does not hang up, then it admits it is the person they seek. NUTS!!! States they are Monarch Recovery Management. They have called three time without my recording this message.
This number called every day 4-5 times a day for about a month. So I called them back to find out who they are looking for. Turns out they are looking for the previous owner of this house and skip tracers just cross referenced the address to a new number, mine. I told them to stop calling and was advised it would take 24-48 hrs for the calls to stop. Customer service was courteous and compliant. Want the calls to stop? Just call them back.
They have been calling 4 times a day for the past week. The name on the caller ID is Monarch Recover and
they never leave a message. If this is a collection agency, I don't know who they are trying to reach as I
don't owe anyone anything and have never been late on any of my bills.
They've called every single day since I made the mistake of answering once. Try complaining w/ the Federal Trade Commission ftccomplaintassistant.gov
if enough of us do it, they might be stopped.
Calls once about 1600 each day. It's @ work on some other phone, not mine. No message is left.
this number calls me a least six times a day and its running up my phone bill, and wasting my time. i tried to answer it but no one ever picked up. and its seriously making me MAD. i dont like it when i have to pay for people i dont even know and dont care about!
I just drop their numbers into
the block section of the PBX
system here in the building,
they get a canned recording
that plays over and over,
we never hear the phone ring,
might look in the logs to
find new numbers to put in
the block list. hehe.
This call showed up in mycaller id as Unknown.
Academy Collections. They call from all sorts of numbers from all over the US. This company doesn't seem to care and it will go on and on. Write to them and stop them from calling you. Once you make the demand for them to stop calling you, they must honor it. If they don't, contact your local attorney general office and file a formal complaint against them. If it can be determined they were harassing you, could mean a $1K fine for them into your pocket.
they hang up!! grrr
I browsed the internet for Health Insurance and have now been bombarded with call from E-Health Insurance at the 800-503-8352 number, if you call them at 800 977 8860 and ask to be removed they're actually quite nice people and will assist
Calls twice every morning
Calls twice every morning and no one is there
Get these calls for someone who used to stay here while recovering from surgery - these people will not leave me alone even after asking them to stop the calls - have informed them this 3 is on the national do not call list but they don't care about that - ask this Mona North who was the person who answered the phone when I called back to remove this # please from their list - said she did - next step is to contact the FCC if they call again! The Federal Do Not Call list is using our tax dollars to keep these people from calling when told not to and we all needs to send a note to them to change their rules - seem that if anyone has ever talked to someone at a business they can call your # back without yielding to the FCC rules!!!! Copy this link and ask the FCC (your tax money) to help the people not the leaches. donotcall.gov
I did not recognize the number so I didn't answer and just took the phone off the hook. They have celled several times before
none
i get calls from these fuckers a few times a day. i aint answering. US cell carriers should start charging callers for calling cell phones and not the subscribers like they do in other countries. fucken US companies are crooks
This is a collection agency, looking for the people that had my phone # over 10 years ago, before it was assigned to me. They have called me numerous times. I have tried to tell them, I am not William or Chris Henry, the dead-beats that owe $$$$$$ all over the country......
robo caller that thought my machine was a person and connected with a rep who just said "hello hello" for a minute straight. annoying.
A robot message asking for some name that was completely butchered. I think they are fishing for the first elderly person they can scam into believeing they owe money.
I don't knnow who these people are . They do not answer. It is most irrating.
I received a couple calls and they left only a file number on my machine. They didn't give the name of the person they were trying to reach. I called them back (from a different location), gave them the number they had called and they asked me for my name. I didn't give them my name, but asked who they were trying to reach at that number. They immediately hung up.
