I got a call from this people about a week ago , I contacted a lawyer who work on behave the consumers protection , something like that .
now i received email from his office , he's suing them on my behave free of charge he well make them pay his cost and will send me $1000.00

I'm glad I found this site, reading some of your comments has cleared up some things for me. I can safely say that I don't have a Bank One Chase card, I never had one and I have only retained one credit card in the last 10 years and that's not from CHASE and I regularly refuse offers for more. Thanks to debit cards I don't need to keep more than that one and CASH has yet to be refused anywhere.

Lisa Martin called my office when I said she had the wrong peron she told me she'd gotten to me through the switchboard and that she was calling on behalf of Kings County of NY that the call was being taped and that I'd be liable to lawsuits for defrauding Kings County, I knew something was fishy then. I transferred the call to our security screening section.

They allege we owe them money, we don't (common last name) and have asked them for copies of any and all credit applications and charge slips with our signatures. (I believe them to be a fraudulent company or collection agency. I only know who they are because they sent us a demand letter and have the wrong person's name on it.)

I recently worked at this horrible place. National Enterprise Systems is the collection agency from hell. It's the devil's worst nightmare. Employees are trained to collect according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act but once on the floor in their respective departments collectors are told to forget everything they learned.

My supervisor, Bryan Howard under the alias of Paul Stevens, regularly provided a second voice to collectors having trouble closing collections. This idiot would identify himself to callers as a federal agent, an NES attorney, etc., anything to try to scare the debtor into paying. He would actually tell debtors and their spouses that a lawsuit had been filed and if the account is not paid by postdated check by a certain time that day a deputy of the court was coming to serve the debtor on his job. I witness this on a daily basis all day long. B. Howard is neither a federal agent, attorney nor any of the other things he claims to be and NES don't sue debtors. All are clear violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

The person on the other end claimed to be "Sandy Shields" and the next time it was "Susan Anderson".

These people call an average of 5 or more times a day.I tell them they will have to talk to the daughter of the person they ask for.At one time i made the comment that it sounded like they were working in a warehouse because it was so noisy.Now the person says her name is Lisa Ellis.How can we stop these calles?

I am a small business. I receive a min. of 3 calls a day from this #. It is a different name each time usually ending with Martin. They are trying to collect debt that is not owed by my company, but by someone else??? I guess.

Yes, that dang Lisa Marting has called me too. The sad part is, is that she was the person who called, but some guy jumped on the phone and started jumping on me and how i need to pay this bill. They stopped using the 1-800-493-0064 number. Now the Martin clan is calling using this number. Do NOT talk to these people and do not give them ANY information. This is a scam. If this was all legit, they would not be calling using all kinds of different names using the same voice and give a more detailed message other than "important business". Yeah right. Dorks

I call it harrassment. I had 3 calls yesterday, the person they are hunting for does not live at this address or number. I asked them to remove my number, they said it takes 48 hrs., they left a message one time and were very rude, said it was in my best interest to return this call immediately

people are rude demanding and wont except the truth. They call 2 to 3 times a day.

I tried using the *57 to trace their call, but I must have made a mistake the first time. I have tried doing it two more times now and their calls cannot be traced. So they've done something with their phone lines. But can't ANY call be traced? Shows how these guys operate. Important business with me? With a number that can't be traced? YEAH RIGHT.

They changed their name to "Steve Thomas" its the saame voice as the others. Still using fake names.

We get messages from this number regularly. Typically, the message starts in the middle, so all I hear is the phone number and the request that we call them. I've tried calling, just to tell them where to get off, and I never actually get through to anyone.

Qwest has some sort of "Qwest Annoyance Call Bureau" who maybe can help?

I tried the *57 for tracing, there was a $1 charge and after 3 traces, you can take further action. They give you a 1-800 number to call, but have a pencil ready because they read it off QUICKLY and do not repeat it! At least this could be a start....MAYBE?

Sorry - my "message was too long"... I do that sometimes. Here's the rest, for those that want it...

Call your phone company - if you have Caller-ID, you probably also have at least 2 additional (no charge) services:
1.) Anonymous call blocking (usually activated by dialing *77) which means "no caller-ID, you don't come through". In some systems, this will only stop 'blocked' caller-IDs, not 'unavailable' ones.
2.) Call tracing - usually *57. IMMEDIATELY after an unwanted call, dial *57. The call will be traced (you'll get a recorded message telling you if the trace worked). You can then call your local law enforcement and the phone company will make that (trace) information available to them (again, assuming it was successful).

Or, as I said earlier, you can always dig that old TeleZapper out of the attic, like I did.

So, here's the deal. These people call you. Whether you answer the phone or let it go to your machine doesn't matter, you'll get a recording and a call-back number. Ignore them and they'll make you nuts by calling more and more often. BUT... Call them back, and you just validated your number (hey, they have caller-ID too). Leave them a message which includes your phone number and guess what? You just (legally) gave them permission to keep calling you (you have established a "Business relationship" and supplied them with contact information). Since they claim to be "collecting a debt" (which you probably do not owe) they are exempt from the "Do Not Call" list - they're not "Telemarketers".

Now, you can complain to the FTC, your State Attorney General, your local District Attorney and of course local law enforcement, but they really have bigger fish to fry and these jerks know that. Plus they know that at least 10% of the people they call will not "resist". This unfortunate few will call them back, give them what they want, and accomplish what they set out to do (which is make $$ without really trying).

Oh, I just got another call from Jim Martin! I get calls every day from Steve Martin, Bob Martin and also Jim Martin. But I like Jim Martin the best. I'm so glad he calls me every single day, just to check up on me to see if I'm home. What would I do without him! But I am afraid he may be married. Because Pam Martin also called me the other day....I bet he calls tons of women and men. And here I thought I was special. Hmph

Reading comments re "Do Not Call" - believe that collection agencies are exempt. Download the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)and check the FTC website. Also contact Cleveland BBB re National Enterprise Systems & check their BBB history. Violations of the FDCPA can be reported to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)

I just called the number back.I asked for lisa.The woman asked my what my number was.I told her my number,then she asked my name.I told her to tell me who they wanted.she asked for brandon.my name is casey.I told her she needed to get her info right before calling.she got very rude and hung up on me.I think i might call back& show her rude.

Keep reporting them, maybe if enough of us send the reports they will finally take action.

They have been calling me every day for a month now, 2 times each day. TODAY, they even called me at 7:59 a.m.! I was NOT happy about that and somehow I'd like to take action against these deadbeats. Why can't anyone stop these people?

I started getting these calls a couple of days ago. Jim AND Lisa have each called me about 4 times altogether. Thanks to some of the advice on this site I'm armed with the knowledge to take action.

Was contacted by this company for a debt. The man was very rude to me when I asked if he could send me documentation about this. He yelled at me that he had my SSN, that I racked up the debt and that I knew about it and MUST pay now or they would come after me! THEN he hung up on me.

Receiving at least 15 calls a week! Today the guy left a message saying he was returning my call and I never called them! They're messages have started to say "call me back at MY OFFICE"..I think they are doing whatever they can to look professional. They used to call my cell phone now they call my house. I'm sick of it!

I have recieved several calls form anonomys. Finally, they leave a message and says that this is Jim martin calling and it is very important to call him back at this number. I have had some credit problems in the past and am used to getting calls from collectors but I have recently taken care of this and should not owe anymore money. this is scarey reading all these comments on here.

It has to be a scam. They asked for my SSN and name which I declined to give and were extremely rude until I called and started the conversation with "You keep calling me at work which is a federal number." She then became very, very polite told me it was a legal "collection" agency and someone with this phone before me must have given it as a contact and removed my name. I plan to report it to the attorney general just the same, though.

Don't know if this will help, but go onto the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY to file a complaint. It says the info will be given to law enforcement so that they can investigate the company.

Jim and/or Lisa Martin (Barton) have been calling my mssg machine 2-3 times daily asking me to return their calls. Fat chance! I reported their tel# to the Do Not Call gov site. Been registered there since 2003. May be a waste of time since lots of you have apparently complained too. I have no debts and a 925+ credit rating from Experian. These people have to be scammers. Kindly go to donotcall.gov to
register your complaint. United we can elicit action & return peace & quiet. Slugs like these two need jailtime!

We are getting daily messages from this number. Identifies himself as Jim Martin and says, "It's a very important business matter". I'm glad I looked this number up on this site b/c I figured it's a scam (it's a recorded message) but now know it is. We have zero debt and have perfect credit.

Thank goodness for the internet. I typed "Jim Martin" and 1-800-493-0064 into Google and here I am. And now I know. I've already filed a complaint with the national do not call registry. My inclination is to just confront them and back them off, but from the other posts it sounds like these people are real psychos. Christ, if they were a legit collection agency, they wouldn't being calling under half a dozen different names!

Bill Martin calls and says that he has an important business message to discuss. It is always a recorded message. When I call the number they want my social security number in order to look up the info. Ha Ha

I received a message on my home phone to call 1-800-493-0064.
"My name is Jim Martin and I have an urgent message. Call me back at 1-800-493-0064".

I called the # from work and they asked me for my name, I told them I wouldn't give them my name but would give them my phone #. They said they where looking for a Charles Williams. Told them that wasn't me and they just hung up without any explaination. I do think my father's ex-wife Silvia, married a man Charles Williams and they have problems with overspending so I suspect it is him they are looking for, but because they failed to ask any questions etc they missed out on the information on where he currently resides. Their loss...ha

All of us who are here have shared the same unnecessary frustration with these “scammers”. I have talked with the telephone company with no change in frequency regarding these unwanted and annoying calls.

I have thought about what I could do to solve this ridiculous problem. Get your friends, family, co-workers, church members, trade unionists, or anyone you can who will listen to call these creeps back using their toll free number. Tell them how wrong they are for intruding in people’s lives and then lying to them about a whole range of things. Write their telephone number on the Bath room walls tell your friends to help you out, pay a college student to call and call and call. DO WHAT EVER YOU CAN TO TIE UP THEIR INCOMONG LINES SO THAT THESE JERKS DO NOT HAVE TIME TO MAKE MORE CALLS AND BOTHER PEOPLE! If people would just try this simple plan/suggestion that have found themselves here like I have, we could really make these BAD people less effective and be doing a service for the public that all these “agencies” have so far failed to stop. Dont let these people scare you, they will try ANYTHING to get you to pay. They will threaten you with legal threats and they dont play by the rules so why should you ? Let them call all they want. I just dont answer to phone from unknown numbers.

I have been getting annoying calls form this number. Starting about 9:00 a.m. atleast 4 times a day. I get messages form Lisa Martin, Jim Martin, and Pat Martin. Just a few minutes ago I got a message from a Larry Davis his number was 1-800-626-0498 he said it was a legal matter. I acted as if I were not myself to see what the call was about. Before when I got frustrated and finally called back one of theses numbers (1-800-493-0064) They threatened to triple what I owe to a Sears account, add about 1,000 lawyerfees, and that they would garnish my wages.I was like " What?!!!"

Been getting calls from these people for the last 4 months, everyday at 8 AM. Last week they started calling at 9 AM and 8 PM as well. It's always a machine- picking up just gets the same message. The guy has changed his name 4 times during the course of this, and today I got my first call from the woman. Just holding out until we move and change phone numbers.

these people are the rudest ever. I offered to reconcile a debt, but they would have nothing of it. I was disrespected and threatened. The "supervisor/litigator" tried to engage me in a fight...yelling, "Come on yell at me." I calmly refused and continued to try negotiating a settlement...it failed. He was screaming. I was in disbelief at the immense cruelty of this company's employees. I felt VIOLATED! They call all day. I am never talking to them again. Evidenced by my comments, National Enterprise Systems has lit a fire. I am contacting someone much smarter than those jerks tomorrow.

Qwest put a "trap" on my line and asked that I report to them each day with the date and time of these incoming calls . . . they said they will trace them back and have the calls stopped . . .we'll see. I talked with Terri at 1-800-582-0655, her operator number is 4090. Perhaps if enough people contact them about these scammers they can cut there phone lines off for good! Sick and tired of these people calling, they call all the time. I dont know what to do, Ive gotten into fights with these people.

i have received these calls at least 4 times a day for over 4 weeks. I use the number they're calling for a work line. Same accent has called with about 8 different names, Steve martin, Jim martin, Terry Grant, Mark something, Bill jones, Tom jones, but some of them have different numbers, but its al the same voice. I worried at first because my dad is in debt and they are calling for him, however I picked up the phone today and my dad is at an alcohol Treatment center out of town, when i told them he was out of town he very rudely said "oh how convenient to be out of town when he's in debt", I was going off on him because he didnt know where my father was when he made that comment. He doesnt know the pain that comment made me. They are more then rude...very insensative.

I've rec'd many calls from National Entrprise Systems. I did contact Earlene Jenkins at 800-925-6140 extension 1429 and asked that my number be removed from the call list.
After doing research and contacting the local DA I was informed that this is a scam.

These people are very rude. My mother had been receiving calls from a (now Sandy Shields, it was a man before) for sometime now. She is elderly and unable to handle such abuse. She was going to see a doctor one morning and the caller actually "yelled" at her telling her she "had" to stay on the line. I recently became her POA, so I had her to tell them to call me. They called me and I told them I would call them back on Monday. I got the info I needed, who they were, etc. Then I searched the state code for the laws on this so that I would have something to back me up when I called them. I called and told them they have been harassing my mother and it is against the law. I also contacted an attorney who specializes in Senior Legal Aid. They wanted the attorney's name and phone number and said they would not call her anymore. Time will tell!

Got a new cell # on 5/1 amd every day I have received a call from Jim or Lisa. Since it comes up unknown I have not answered it and it goes to voice mail. They leave the standard msg - this is XXX Martin I have an important msg for you call 800-493-0064. I changed my cell number today.

I got on the national "Do Not Call" list a couple of months ago and it has been pretty effective--except for the "Unknown name, Unknown number" calls. I don't talk to them, but I have let a couple of them leave messages, and today I copied the 800 number they told me to call. The caller left the same message reported by some others here: "Hello this is Jim Martin calling it’s very important that you return my call to 1-800-493-0064. Again this is Jim Martin and the number is 1-800-493-0064." Well, I wish the caller would clone himself so he can do what Arnold Schwarznegger tells the clone-maker to do in "The Sixth Day." Honestly, don't Jim Martin and his cronies have a life? How do they pay for their pathetic lifestyle of making nuisance calls? Do they actually get gullible people to send them money? Whoever enforces the "Do Not Call" list needs to find these losers and put them out of business.

I get these calls from a Jim Martin and a Steve Martin stating the they have "important business that they need to discuss with me" and to call the 800-493-0064 I just let the answering machine pick it up.

We are receiving daily calls from this number, claiming to be Jim Martin. I called and they do not disclose any company information, reason for calling or what they want, they just want your info... In the last three days I have received 12 calls from Jim Martin with a vague message about an "important business matter". When I googled the number it gave me the following links, both of which are run by Tedd Craven.

I have spoken to these people a number of times, which generally results in a promise to remove my phone number and/or suddenly getting cut off. Today I spoke with Earlene Jenkins in the complaints department who claimed she actually had the authority to remove the number (the others I spoke with did not). We'll see what happens. You can reach her at extension 1429. You might also try the line (extension 2066).

We've received recorded calls from Lisa and Tom Martin. Two per day recently including 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday. The messages say to call 1-800-493-0064 or 1-800-626-0498. The person they're looking for has the same first and last names as my wife, but a different middle initial, different address and, or course, different SSN. I called a couple of weeks ago and demanded they remove our phone number from their list. The calls stopped for a while. I called again today (both numbers) and talked with Samantha Jones (she hung up on me when I mentioned the Attorney General) and Julie Smith (she promised to remove our number).

Sam Martin has been calling us everyday for two weeks now. Yesterday he called three times using the names Jim, Pat and Jeff all Martins. Today, Lisa Martin has called three times before 11:00 am on a Sunday morning.

Nonstop with these calls! Last week it started and showed as "unknown" and everytime I answered it, they hung up. Now they are leaving a phone number and thats it.

I've gotten the Lisa and Jim Martin recordings (are they married?) and it would be nice to know what company they are calling from, or to even say what company or debt it's regarding.

We began getting calls from this number around two months ago. At first it was "Pat Martin" and the connection was so bad that it sounded as if they were calling from a cell phone. Then we would get the occasional "Lisa Martin" calling us up. The other day, the same male voice for "Pat Martin" identified himself as "Jim Martin" called and left a very gruff message on the answering machine. Today, a "Stacy Burnette" called and said there was "legal action" filed against us and the paperwork was on her desk and that we had to call her back at EXT. 1584. This is the reason we bought an answering machine and stay hooked up to the computer so much that our relatives complain! If you do answer the phone, these people will never leave you alone. We had another company harass us and family members and lied to them trying to get to us. We tried to resolve a legitimate debt through these individuals, but they only attempted to rip us off. I am glad I found this site. By the way, we have learned that many so-called "debt collectors" will randomly dial numbers out of the phone book and try to pin false debts on people just to get them to pay, especially the elderly.

Daily calls from both Lisa MArtin and Jim Martin saying it is very urgent I return their call. A slezy collection attemp I'm sure.

I've had these people calling for over a year now. I just put in a seconf complaint to the MA attorney general's office. Hopefully, they will get them to stop. They're driving me crazy!!!

I am being harassed with numerous messages per day from Lisa Martin as well as Jim Martin telling me that it is very important that I return their call at 1-800-493-0064. After research I learned that this is a scam--someone posing as a debt collection agency. Unfortunately the calls have not stopped despite my warnings to stop calling. I am in the process of contacting my district attorney’s office about this and will be pursing this company for remuneration under the do not call act. Anyone receiving incessant calls from this company can do the same and attempt to file for this fraudulent company to pay the person being inconvenienced by these calls up to $500 per call after they have been warned not to call.

Was contacted by this company for a debt. The man was very rude to me when I asked if he could send me documentation about this. He yelled at me that he had my SSN, that I racked up the debt and that I knew about it and MUST pay now or they would come after me! THEN he hung up on me.

I got a call from Carlos Sosa asking if I was so and so, when I asked why they said that there was 'a big problem at the bank' and 'why don't you pay your bills'. They called the next day and said that I had defrauded a corporation out of $9000. They called again (this time a woman calling herself Lisa Martin) and said that I owed a bank $9000. They named the bank, I have never had an account at that bank. I also got a prerecorded call from Jim Martin asking to call them at 800-493-0064. Very fishy

message left, tried to answer, but it's a recording "Hello, this is Lisa Martin calling. It is very important you return my call at 18004930064 again, this is Lisa Martin calling...". I received calls at 8:10am, 9:15 am, and I'm sure this is the source of many hangups this past week. Sounds like a credit card debt collector to me, but mine have all recently been paid off, which makes me suspicious.

I am getting a call daily from this number and says Lisa MArtin is calling and call them back and I dont trus this lady.

I called the company telling them that they have the wrong person. I also reseached the company and it seems to be a scam. I feel that everyone contacted by them should report them to their local phone company or a national news organization (maybe Dr. Phil would like to take this on). They called thirteen times one day. All I can say is Report, Report, Report.

we have gotten repeated calls, a recording saying "this is _____, (jim martin or other names) please call us a.s.a.p. at 1(800)493-0064. finally we were sick enough of it to look it up here, we called them and they claimed our number had been taken off the list, but since the most recent call from them was minutes before this, i doubt this is true. sounds like they are debt collection scammers, but either way, i would love to know what to do to stop their harrassing calls.

A woman who identifies herself as Lisa Jones calls me every morning right after eight o'clock. She is not on the phone in person but, instead, I hear a voice message giving her name and this number and asking that I return the call. I have called repeatedly, getting a different person each time and have been asked if my last name is "Arledge" or "Aldridge" I have repeatedly told them no that it is not and that this has been my phone number for over three years. THEY ARE EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I INSIST THEY DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN. My name is on the "do not call" registry.

P.S. May be a scam. I asked them to send me a letter w/ the info and it was blank for 'Original Creditor'. I send them a letter back disputing it and haven't heard back from them since. I even asked them to tell me the bank it was from and they rambled on like 6 different banks. They said the debt was from 1992. So how come they are just now trying to collect. Not like I've been in hiding or anything. I'm a regular person who has a steady job history. In other words have been at my jobs for years at a time. Weird.

This is a debt collector who has been harrassing me to send them money, however, they cannot provide proof (original creditor information) that the debt is mine. They are very rude on the phone and demand payment in full immediately.
