How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

The recorded message claims to be from Tracfone. Claiming to restart a disconnected phone #. The message claims to give details on saving tracfone minutes and having the capability to help one to keep their original tracfone #.... { yea right}
They call this morning and didn't say anything. So quit calling me. if you're not going to say anything
This is Tracfone. Did as was stated and dialed the number back and pressed 3. Said I would be taken off their call list. Thanks for the info.
After also getting the call from 800-419-7370, I use BBB.org to find Tracfone's Corporate HQ. I call, GUESS WHAT, THAT IS NOT A TRACFONE NUMBER. She said they have no number relating to our caller. She did tell me she would send this up to the top so they can
It's TracFone prerecorded calls. Call back and press 3 to be removed from their list.
I never answer Toll Free calls so they are wasting their time calling me.
This number is also used for Net10 (which is owned by TracFone) to nag you into buying an airtime card. The machine said my phone expires in 3 days unless I add airtime, but I have 33 days left.
It's Tracfone advertisment! I read some of the comments and found out to call the # back press #3 to have your # removed from call list!!! This site is GREAT!!! Will use it more
when you get this call, just call back and when they answer just dail the number 3 and you will be removed form the calling list, just that easy
TRACFONE solicitation
It's tracfone spam. Glad I don't do business with them anymore.
I believe these are automated calls from Tracfone. I do not have a tracfone, yet I get calls from this # often. When they say to press 3 and opt out - they are probably trying to get your real phone # instead of a list of all possible numbers. It's a way to then have real people in the future use your # for telemarketing. I don't advise giving your phone number.
They left a pre-recorded message on my answering machine. I called back to "opt-out" and was told all circuits were busy. I redialed a minute later, and listened to their spiel, then hit "3" to opt-out. I've been a Tracfone customer for years, and my opinion of them has just taken a drastic hit. They lied to me about why they wanted my home telephone number, and then they chose to market to it. I'm on the National Do Not Call list for a reason. Yes, we have a business relationship, but keep this up and we won't!
tracphone call number back dial 3 to remove from list
THIS NUMBER IS FROM TRAFONE FOR SURE.
JUST TRYING TO SALE ANOTHER TELEPHONE OR ADD LINES.
just a update on my service
Caller ID says Liz Claiborne, but the message is from Tracfone reminding us that our minutes are about to expire.
I followed the instructions left on one of the messages and it worked!
"this is tracfone--thanks to whoever posted how to stop the calls by calling the number and then pressing '3'. just did it. voice over phone first identified themselves as tracfone when I dialed the number, then said my number would be removed from their automated calling after I pressed 3."
Thanks to whoever posted this. Perhaps it will work with other 800 calls too.
The display said "Toll Free Number". Its actually Tracfone trolling for business. I don't have Tracfone.
The machine that calls isn't programmed right. After ten rings, it hangs up (not including the ones required to get through). It is Tracfone's automated message that comes up a few days before your Airtime expires. I usually don't catch it in time and it doesn't leave a message on the answering machine. The irony.
this is tracfone--thanks to whoever posted how to stop the calls by calling the number and then pressing '3'. just did it. voice over phone first identified themselves as tracfone when I dialed the number, then said my number would be removed from their automated calling after I pressed 3.
May or may not really be TRACFONE. Some people bought phone minutes from them, but didn't like their business practices. No one should buy from phone solititations.
They called twice this A.M. and both times I picked up and said Hello. Guess what--NO ANSWER!
I called the same number CT and it worked with the number 3 option to be removed from their calling list. We know when to add minutes and definitley do not need anymore telemarketers calling the house. I will believe it when i do not hera it. Thanks again!! - Matt.
Was on the phone when they called, but didn't switch over. Call waiting/Caller ID said "UNAVAILABLE." Have Tracfone, so must have been them.
These people saying that Tracfone is only calling to remind you your service is about to expire probably work for Tracfone because I get the same calls and neither of my phones expire for three more months!
CT - Thanks it worked!!!!!!!!
when i signed up for trac phone service they requested a alternate phone # should service be required on the trac phone itself. i have not been a customer for the past two years and only recently began getting these annoying calls. i recalled the 800 number pressed 3 and my home #... it'll just be a matter of time to see if that stops the calls.
This is tracphone -- just dial 800-419-7370 and press 3 then enter your phone number and you will be removed from the list !!!
My daughter has a service plan and we STILL get these calls every month. Argh!
it is just a marketing number if you have a tracphone
The number belongs to Tracfone. It's an automated call to remind you that your service period is about to expire.
unknown, call 3 times a day! no message hang up.
I usually Never answer these calls, so I don't know who it is; but the caller ID displays Liz Claiborne.
i don't answer "toll free call" calls. I don't care who is calling.
they give you a line about bonus min. and a 1 yr. pkg. deal; it was in my newspaper over the weekend plus i've read about it before. it's actually cheaper buying a card every 3 mths. then it is for a yr. check it out. the other problem is "i had a tracphone go bad and lost my min." before; they wouldn't put them over to the new phone. so, if your phone breaks; you are out over $100.00 for the yearly deal; don't fall for it; it's just another sales pitch/gimmick to get you to buy like: buy three and save 50 cents. i tend to sway away from salespeople trying to get me to buy something with a catch.
Whoever this is called three times within a 5 hour period. Left one message from Julie at Tracfone. They said to go to tracfone.com for the promotion, with a code they gave me. I don't know if this is legit or not, when Tracfone has a promotion they text me on my Tracfone!
The US mandated a few years ago, that a company is required to show thier name and a callback number on thier calle ID. This company is in violation of federal law!
I do believe this is a scam and not Tracfone. For those of you that did the tracfone activation, tracfone does not have your home phone or do they even know who you are!!
This was a call from Julie at TracFone with a minutes offer. Not sure why TracFone chose to use Liz Claiborne as the name on the caller ID. The phone number is correct. Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling when a reputable company spoofs their caller ID information.
the URL I gave below, for suing telemarketers, got truncated. You need to add telemarketers-wont-stop-calling/ to the end of it. good luck!
Probably NOT tracfone, else why would they A)not identify themselves in 80% of the cases; B)call people who never have owned a tracfone.
Don't give them any information, ESPECIALLY not your tracfone number.
If this is indeed a telemarketer, there's a way to sue them, see litigiousconsumer.com . This guy says it's easy, you just take a few steps including going to small claims court; and he SAYS he's won $25,000 in court cases this year!
Received a promotional call offering additional tracfone minutes if you bought a tracfone card. Pressed 1 for English, then followed menu to be removed from list by pressing 3, then entering the number called. Caller ID indicated 800-419-7370.
It is tracfone that is calling they left a message.
Sherry below is correct. I just called 800-419-7370, hit #3, entered my number & it confirmed I'm off their list. We'll see, but hopefully it works!
Unsolicited Trac-Phone spam recording.
i called the number back to tracfone and said take me of yo damn list!
I don't answer 800#'s. They left a message about getting extra minutes for Tracfone.
I don't have, never did have, nor will I ever want a Tracfone. I have signed up on every "do not call list" and still I get theses annoying calls.
Called this AM no message
Called in the afternoon, left message, about tracfone minutes running out, etc.
I had a tracfone around 3 years ago, but didn't keep it up because there's no service in my area.
I thought Liz Clairbone was a cosmetic co or something?
I just called the above #: (800) 419-7370 and you can press 3 to opt out of receiving future calls. It's that easy.
I have to go with Commander on this. Tracfone sends text messages to my Tracfone and emails to my email box. There's no reason for them to call with Liz Claiborn's name. I think it's a scam.
THIS IS FROM TRACPHONE WANTING TO SELL CELL PHONE MINUTES TO US, AN ESTABLISHED CUSTOMER.
said unknown name..noone was there when I answered the phone..I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry
no message left
They never leave a message.
It looks like Tracfone is getting desperate. I'll be changing carriers, as well. Advertising is part of business. Driving a person crazy with e-mail and phone calls/text messages isn't.
It was Tracfone. I answered it and it put me to a phone tree. Special offers and such, but if you go through the message there is an opt out number function. I followed the instructions, entered my land line phone to NOT recieve any further junk from them and it told me that my number would be removed. Yeah, uh huh. This probably means they will pack my email box full now.
Now I do have a tracfone but when they have a msg for me about bonus mins or something like that, they text my phone.I've never received a call from them until today. The caller ID said Liz Claiborn O the famous dead fashion mogul???? They said for extra bonus mins to text a series of numbers into my tracfone the next time I buy a card.I am starting to think it is some kind of scam and perhaps the numbers you text into your phone will cause someone to get your info or minutes?? I'm not sure but I think that any really true legit company wouldn't mask their name with Liz Claiborn...it has to be some sorta scam? Either way I will not trust it.
Tracphone calling again, leftvoice mail. Have never been a customer. Will be filing complaint with FTC again.
Tracfone calling to tell you to add minutes and offering a 1000 minute card.
It's Tracfone. I'm on the DNC but I've used them for cell minutes. They're getting really annoying.
i will never answer any 800 numbers.
Airtime is about to expire..
like previous posters got a call from tracfone yesterday. I have a tracfone, actually two that I use for emergencies. Has anyone been successful in getting them to stop telemarketing you?
I don't remember clicking anything to be notified by phone on special offers or anything from tracfone.
unknown
Tracfone offering more free minutes etc.
It is tracphone calling to sell you something. You can remove your name by listening to the directions. Pain in the butt. I hope they don't call again. It registered on my caller id as a call form liz claiborne.
Trac-fone call that left voicemail. I've never been a trac-fone customer. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC for violating the Do Not Call list.
Tracfone offering 30 extra minutes with purchase of 120 minutes by some date.
The special offer code is XXXXXX.
Called on 10 March, 2008. 3:15 pm.
Even if you have no relation to TracFone at all, as I never have and never will, they ignore the DNC list and call anyway.
I gave my landline number when I applied for my tracfones. I hope that wasn't a mistake. today was the first sales call I received from the.
800-419-7370 - TRACFONE tracfone.com = (800) 419 7370. Called on November 20, 2007 at 7:08 PM (and see also above complaint on 3rd February 2007 as well!). Female voice: "This is a courtesy call from Tracfone Wireless, thanks for being a good customer.... etc." Indeed I never have or had any service or business with them (TracFone)! They have the nerve to call again and to "keep" me as their "customer". Reported them to the Do Not Call List.
They said, if you no longer want to recieve these calls, press 1 now, I did.
They called twice this A.M. and both times I picked up and said Hello. Guess what--NO ANSWER!
I get these calls at least 1x a month. I have a tracphone & the airtime is still good, but they say my service is being interrupted because time has run out. They need to update their system when you add minutes to it.
If you have or had a Tracphone (cell phone) They are calling in reference to that cell phone
Trying to me sell more time. I get text messages from them all the time, too. Very annoying marketing practices. Like Ronald Hatch, I'll be changing services soon.
Used to have Tracfone, no longer do, nor will I ever, since they have such annoying business habits.
Airtime is about to expire...Just checking.
Tracfone offering 30 extra minutes with purchase of 120 minutes by February 28, 2007.
The special offer code is 58298
It's just Tracfone's prospect computer buggin' people...
The number when called goes to Tracfone
They call. I am not here. They hang up on my answering machine rather than leave a message. How rude.
