This number called my phone looking for my fiancé just to 'say hi'. He said he was with Verizon Wireless but never gave a name and hung up after he said he's only calling to 'say hi'. Nothing more. Fiancé & I don't share a calling plan. And we didnt make any recent Verizon purchases plus why would he just hang up? Weird.

This is clearly a Spam/fraud. I received a voice mail from someone allegedly claiming to be Verizon Wireless thanking me for my recent purchase... I called Verizon Wireless based on the website information to confirm it is indeed Verizon. They said this number used to be Verizon but the number is not used by Verizon anymore. Also, Verizon does not have my office phone number. In addition, I did not make a recent purchase. (My other thought is that someone stole my identity to make a purchase). Third, the person allegedly claiming to be Verizon Wireless did not say my name when they called me, but tried to ask for my personal information when I tried to call them back.

Unknown, I do not answer unknown, restricted, unlisted. If you do not want me to known who is calling, I do not want to speak with you. Sorry.

called at 2:20PM, said he was from Verizon wireless.I could not talk at time and he said he would call back later. I just thought it strange that there was no caller ID displayed

Rang me and left voice mail "courtesy call" re: the "new number" to be recorded over current one for my account.

this number called me incessantly for a period of a couple weeks, sometimes 6 or 7 times a day and as late as 10:00 at night. I never picked it up -- if this really is Verizon Wireless, shame on them! I felt like I was being stalked!

Just Verizon Wireless calling to ask me how my new phone was and if I was happy with my plan. Nice to have a courtesy call for a change!

I recieved a call from Verizon Wireless, offering me a $30 credit to my account for being a loyal customer. I called Verizon Wireless' customer service number to be sure this wasn't a scam.

Unknown number appeared on caller id. I called the number back via Skype. It's Verizon Wireless. I'm pretty certain they are calling because I haven't renewed my contract, and I probably won't. My phone still works fine.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker or something like Nomorobo.
