I have been on the phone with verizon wireless directly since 1/6/2010 with concerns of this 800-261-1646 # When you call this # it's a verizon recording that keeps circling and no one ever answers. 2 customer service reps and a supervisor have tried this # can not get through to anyone and can not confirm if this company is outsourced by them. One of the supervisor's even suspects that this co just recorded a verizon wireless message and put it on their phone. BEWARE!!! They ask you to confirm all your information. They actually asked me to confirm my 9 digit ss#. I told them if they really have my account info they already know the info. They also told me the name of the co is Connect North America. The incoming calls from this # is very harassing. Tonight I receive 5 calls every 1/2 hr and they are now blocking their # using 000-000-0000. Verizon Wireless has given me the FRAUD DEPT # 800-521-1841 which I will be calling. Everyone must call the FRAUD DEPT so they will start doing something about this. They also marked my account for no soliciting from within the company, so if the calls continue it's definitely not Verizon wireless calling.

I was a former employee and i was just called by Verizon from a former friend a former friend at VPS! apparently they were bought by Verizon Wireless and will keep calling you.

2009-09-11 01:47:07 UTChmmm...

Looks to me like there were NO MORE COMPLAINTS after November 2008....I wonder what happened to VPS????????

2009-09-04 03:23:28 UTCBrains

I just learned that the smartest people on the planet hang out on these web sites. Get a life people!

2008-11-03 19:58:28 UTCTracey

I've heard its a 3rd party hired by Verizon to re-new contracts. Also heard it's actually Verizon calling. Also heard it's a MAJOR scam & to be really careful relaying information. Even if you're on the DO NOT CALL list, these people call anyway - hang up - and hope people call back. That way, you're ORIGINATING the call and thus waiving their liability! DON'T CALL IT BACK!

2008-10-24 16:34:36 UTCjohn

I work for the 1 800 310 5479. We only call you to renew your contract and give promos. we are not trying to sell you a $400 phone. the we get paid is if you buy a phone we get $0.50. no matter if is $400 phone or a free phone. and we work on behalf of Verizon Wireless. So if you want us not to call just say DO-NOT-CALL-LIST please.. but its real and good deals. most of the time we put you on cheaper plans and save you money.

2008-10-08 11:29:32 UTCAnonymous

Folks.....am an insider who knows the truth....

You are being called by 3rd Party company called VPS who is contracted through Kipany to Verizon. VPS is owned, managed, and directed by convicted FELONS, calling you with personal information obtained from Verizon. There is a better than 50% chance the person actually calling you is CRIMINAL.....and in many cases still incarcerated.

VPS is a Drug Infested, Criminal Operation funded by Verizon. If you give these people ANY agreement, you are opening yourself up to Identity Theft, Burglary, and other mayhem..

Verizon has the information at highest levels, there is current full investigation going on, but you need to call the Verizon Office of Ethics and Business Conduct with your complaint. Everything this company tells you is either a direct lie, or misleading information to Con you into one and two year contracts.....

There is very real probability of Criminal Indictment of Kipany, VPS, as well as Verizon Executives that hatched this plan and put you at risk.....Go to Verizons Website...get the number for the complaint....make the complaint...

2008-08-16 02:30:09 UTCokwes

If this is indeed Verizon wanting me to accept a 'deal' and renew my phone services by phone, i've already been burned doing that. if i answer and it is a person offering that, i will tell them.

the 'deal' i got was neither a deal or helpful to me, and 2 years later, i'm still trying to fix the problem.

2008-06-20 18:25:28 UTCKW

I was receiving hangups from this number all week so I decided to call the number today. It is Verizon Wireless, which I do have. When I told the rep that I was getting hangups she said that shouldn't be happening and checked to find out why I was being called. Turns out they were calling to tell me 1)I could get a discount on a new phone, mine is 4yrs old and 2)I'm paying too much for the minutes I'm using. It's saving me 5 bucks a month so I can't complain too much. :) Before I hung up I said something to the rep about not getting anymore hangups and she said I shouldn't.

2008-05-21 22:12:31 UTCRob of NY

Just put them to music on hold - switch to Nine Inch Nails for the music - quite loudly - hope they enjoyed their "treat"

This number call our home

2 times today, 5/14/08

This is getting very annoying, as this phone is an unlisted number

2008-05-07 13:46:10 UTCapril

May 7, 2008 - I have been getting calls from them at least twice a day for the last two weeks and as others have described, as soon as I pick up, they hang up. Strange. I am reporting this number.

2008-04-12 16:39:43 UTCSergeo

Just over two months ago I extended my contract with VZW for two years and 'downgraded' to the minimum monthly plan available through VZW. Since I never go over my alloted minutes or text messages nor have I missed a payment, I see no reason why I should receive any call from VZW or affiliated company. I have recently received calls from this number to my VZW cellular phone on two occasions. The first was about three weeks ago and the second was today. In both cases I didn't answer the call as I don't see why I should use my minutes on unknown solicitors. The coincidences are that both calls were made within an hour of e-mailing my VZW cellular phone number through non-private e-mail delivery systems. I have not articulated my VZW cellular phone number to anyone in the past six months except those two e-mails and at the VZW store when I updated my contract. Neither phone call corresponds with my billing cycle nor usage of the phone. Although both calls were roughly mid month, numerically they were separated by six days (18th vs. 12th). Further one phone call was on a Tuesday and the other on a Saturday. While I have not yet found any commonality other than the e-mails I sent, I cannot quite confirm my growing suspicion that these calls relate to internet based sniffers. Has anyone else experienced this kind of coincidence?

Verizon Wireless called asking for a person other then myself....Get this....I have T-Mobile....Never had Verizon

2008-03-23 00:42:00 UTCscum bag

oh and JustynSayne get a life dude haha

2008-03-22 15:05:44 UTCscum bag

We do record all the calls and send you paperwork to sign and return. now since we do renew your agreement we do have to verify that we are speaking with the account holder or an auth. user which is why we ask for ONLY the last 4 of ssn on the account(if you have a password on your account you can use that instead). we already know the last four of your SSN we just need you to verify it(if you dont believe me give the rep the wrong last 4 and see what he/she says). And last for all of ya'll that get a rep. on the phone that gives you attitude or is rude to you well like i said everything is recorded so those people usually dont work there very long. So i think I've covered most of it so i'm done now ya'll can continue on with your conspiracy theories now.

2008-03-22 15:05:19 UTCscum bag

I'm sorry but this all very funny to me. Not the part about ya'll being called repetively that sucks I know and I'm sorry about that but, that's the computers fault so please dont take that out on the reps. However for all of ya'll that are working up this big conspricay theory about this is hilairious to me. I'm going to let ya'll know whats really going on here since I, in fact, have worked for them for about 2yrs now. The people that are calling you are a 3rd party vendor which is why they start off the calls saying "we are calling on BEHALF of VZW". We are a THIRD party vendor we get our business through either Kipany or One Touch Direct. Kipany and One Touch Direct are the ones who get their business directly from Verizon Wireless(which makes them second party vendors). so when you call up customer service and tell them you got a sketchy call from Voicepower or Intel Services chances are they will not know who we are but, if u mention Kipany then they'll know what you're talking about. Its not a scam we are a marketing department dealing with renewal and promotions. We arw calling you because your agreement is about up so we're are offering you either (a) a new plan that will save you money (b) a new phones; 90% of the customers we call the phone is actually no cost to the customer (c) an additional 100 bonus mins or (d) all of the above. However it does renew your agreement. Thats why we call you.

2008-02-23 16:12:41 UTCavwhat

@JustynSayne I don't know if you have been to voicepowered.com but there is now a graphic of a post-it note on the front page that says "A very special thanks to OneTouch Direct & Kipany Productions for making this all possible". You said that verizon does outsource to Kipany Company and OneTouch direct. I wonder what this note on on their website means?

2008-02-16 20:59:33 UTCJustynSayne

Here are some interesting tidbits I have discovered while in my process of filing legal complaints with Verizon and the FCC today...

Regarding: 1-800-310-5479 / Voice Powered Solutions, LLC.

Phone number from caller id: 1-800-310-5479 (shows up as: Unknown Name)

Company Name: Voice Powered Solutions, LLC.

Website: voicepowered.com

Address:
4025 Tampa Road Suite #1104
Oldsmar, Florida 34677

OR

5519 West Hillsborough Avenue
Tampa, Florida 33634.

OR

Email:
INFO@VOICEPOWERED.COM

OR

Phone:
813-333-5065 Jobs
813-200-3436 Fax

Anyway, I spoke with the most polite lady in the world at Verizon Wireless a few minutes ago and she took down all the information I had to offer about this shady company known as Voice Powered Solutions, LLC. She stated that Verizon will not call your home phone regarding information about your wireless plan, UNLESS, your plan is about to expire and that is the only information you provided as a contact. She has a few people checking into this company. She did state that she knows Verizon does infact use 2 outsourced marketing companies called Kipany Company and another called OneTouch Direct, but, VPS,LLC means nothing to Verizon. I found that to be very interesting... So, I proceeded on to file an online complaint, Form 1088, with the FCC while I was on a personal mission to have this VPS, LLC. company shut down for good.

2008-02-16 19:14:18 UTCJustynSayne

This is an outside marketing vendor for Verizon Wireless. This company, or really annoying person who needs to find a real job, uses a computer dialer, if no one picks up the call, then the computer disconnects and continues to dial another number randomly. Verizon Wireless should removes this person who owns this number from it's all mighty "network".

calls every day, twice a day. I just don't answer. but after reading some of these i'm wondering if it someone trying to see if i am home???if it is telemarketing, why would they just hang up or why is there a stupid message. how can this be stopped evidently ncl is not working..

2008-01-30 02:10:17 UTCJames

Calls almost everyday, but never leaves a message.

2008-01-29 05:00:05 UTCr

i've been getting calls form them for months now. nearly every day, including saturday, sometimes 2-3 times a day. there's no one on the other end if i pick up... they leave messages about twice a week, but i've never called back. i've read many of the comments left here, and i don't have verizon wireless (and never did), i don't have a wamu checking acct., i don't use verizon for my home phone or internet... so i've got no reason i can think of why this company would be calling me.

2008-01-21 19:38:43 UTCJames

Call but didn't leave a message.

2008-01-15 14:02:27 UTCRebecca

I think this is a scam outfit...I called Verizon Wireless immediately after receiving this bizarre call and they said they were NOT affiliated with and Voice Power Solutions or Kipany Company. Beware of giving out any personal information to these jerks.

2008-01-11 17:02:47 UTCDrew

Got a call 3 times from the above number on my cell phone, I called it back from my office phone and it says "Thank You for calling Verizon Wireless, please wait while we connect you to customer service" UGH!

Verizon wireless - they are ALWAYS calling - what a nuisance - never leave a message though

2007-12-29 21:13:27 UTCAnonymous Bob

I recently renewed my 2 year contract on the family plan, and yes, we got 3 new phones, too! The VERY NEXT DAY the annoying phone calls started. One rep rudely told me that I just had to endure it until the "next billing cycle" occurred. Right! The other agents I spoke with all assured me that I would be taken off their call lists forever and ever. RIGHT! Before I complained, I was getting one call a day. After filing my complaints, I'm getting 2-3 calls a day. I think I may try and reach that Mr. Dean fellow someone mentioned in a previous post.

2007-12-26 18:28:54 UTCJ

Is there anyway we can initiate a class action suit against these a-holes? I get at least two to three calls Monday through Friday. Also, I just bought a new cell-phone two weeks ago, but these fools still call.

2007-12-10 23:09:19 UTCK

I was receiving these calls every day or two for a while. I answered 5 days ago and told them I didn't want the upgrade, and haven't gotten any more calls from them since. However, last night and this morning I received spam text messages to my cell phone, which has never happened before, so I wonder if they are trying to see if the number is legit, then selling our numbers to advertisers for text messaging. Basically forcing us to pay for unsolicited advertising.
Also, does anyone else think "Johny" is trying a little too hard to convince us that these people are legit and we should order their plan. His post sounds like an advertisement, and is obnoxious with all the CAPS.

2007-12-08 18:12:04 UTCE

I just got a hang up call from this number. My 2 yrs is just now up. They did the same thing a few months ago (many hangup calls). When I finally talked to them, yes they are contractors for Verizon trying to get you to renew. I asked about all of the hangup calls and he said the compuer dials the numbers and it dials more numbers than they have reps available for because it figures a certain number of people won't answer, but then if they have "too many" people who do answer, it hangs up on the "extras."

Of course when we got the phone, I had left my driver's license in the car so the phone is in my husband's name. The rep on the phone wouldn't talk to me about the phone plans. I told him we've been through this before and that I should be listed as someone authorized to make decisions but he said he doesn't have that info. He said because of privacy laws he's not allowed to see any of our account information. I'm not sure how he planned to give me a "better deal" if he doesn't know what my current plan is??? I think he must have meant a better deal for Verizon. ;) He told me he'd call back when my husband was home and I told him not to bother. They did call back one more time and I gave them an earful and haven't heard from them since...until just now.

2007-12-06 15:11:59 UTCJames

Calls every day, but never leaves a message.

2007-12-06 04:27:40 UTCMandrake

I have received 5-10 calls in the past couple months from these guys, they are a subcontractor to Verizon out of Tampa, Florida. The telemarketers were mostly very rude, they hung up on me or wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise when I told them I didn't wish to receive their calls. I had been asking them not to call me but to no avail. Then lask week I received another call from Lindsey, she was very nice and put her manager, Roger Dean, on the phone when I repeated my request to not be contacted. He was also very nice and promised to put me on their DNC list. I have yet to receive a call from them, so perhaps it worked, you should ask for Roger.

2007-11-26 19:58:25 UTCBea

I have been receiving calls from this number. I never answer to 800 numbers. It is Verizon and in fact I do have a Verizon Phone. It must be contract related since my New Every 2 just came up. Know who it is and what it's about. Just don't feel like answering.

2007-11-19 20:40:33 UTCjt

Well the wait is over, they called back today.
Just three (3) days after I called them.
An I was told they would take care of it.

2007-11-15 19:58:27 UTCCarol Grover

daily phone calls. Aggravating and I don't answer. I do have Verizon and I'm calling them now.

2007-11-13 00:55:40 UTCDavid

Called the 800 number back and got Verizon Wireless.
They claim to be looking for someone named Carrie. No Carrie here.
I am NOT a Verizon Wireless cust., and told them so.
The lady from Verizon said she would note that my number was a wrong number.
I guess that means I will not get anymore calls from Verizon.
I will wait and see

2007-11-12 16:37:33 UTCtom

they call everyday , never answered

2007-11-08 18:18:29 UTCJim

They call several times a day and never leave a message or talk when I answer the phone.

2007-11-05 18:16:32 UTCGreg

No message is ever left, but I have Verizon Wireless. The caller ID is always blank when this number calls. When I called back, all I get is what sounds like a fax machine.

2007-10-29 13:39:30 UTCAnidea

Nearly daily calls. Hang-ups. When I called back finally this morning a message said, "Thank you for you interest in Verizon Wireless" and then hung up. Called Verizon. They don't know what this number is.

2007-10-25 16:54:53 UTCSpeedRacer

I just talked to some one at this company! They are a telemarketing company that gets paid a commission from Verizon Wireless when you renew your agreement with them.

The company is located in Tampa Florida, the name of there organization is:

Called Verizon Customer Service @ 1-800-922-0204. Spoke with rep and he put a marketing "block" on my home telephone number from further telemarketers. Definitely understood the situation. Time will tell if this works.

2007-10-17 20:53:34 UTCIngrid

Frequent calls daily, no answer when I pick up.

2007-10-15 17:40:53 UTCGary

I have been getting these calls for the past 2 weeks. The caller hangs up when I answer. Today, someone answered and said "thank you for using a Verizon broadband card". Then hung up. What?

2007-10-13 16:26:24 UTCVijay K

I finally called back after getting so many annoying calls from this number. Turns out its Verizon (or maybe a marketing company outsourced by Verizon)!

They want to get me on another 2 year contract. I told them not to call me again and I just want to continue on a month-to-month. If they call me again, I'm switching carriers...

2007-10-11 14:12:35 UTCJason

I got called last night at 8:21pm EST and 10:12am EST this morning. I think I may have to call them. I've been getting about 2-3 calls per day.

2007-10-10 21:52:50 UTCheidi

sigh... another call today at 5:51 pm. this is ridiculous.

2007-10-10 18:26:55 UTCheidi

They called again today. Wow, that's 3 days in a row now. When is this considered harrassment? Called Verizon customer service yesterday. They said that it must be their marketing department and that they were taking me off the calling list. After getting a call again today at 2:03pm I contacted Verizon customer service again. They said that it can take a couple of days before my number actually gets taken off. I've asked her to esclate this issue to her supervisor and stop the calls immediately. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I may have to contact Verizon's marketing department next.

2007-10-09 18:32:01 UTCheidi

Its Verizon. They called twice yesterday. I picked up the second time. They wanted me to renew my wireless contract. I told them to send me their offer in writing via email or snail mail so I could review the terms...They called again today. Retards.

2007-10-05 14:33:14 UTCjordan

I hate these calls.

2007-10-04 16:32:58 UTCDan-O

For those who say this is Verizon, you are wrong. This is 3rd party vendor trying to sell you a contract. I don't know anything about their service but know what you're getting into. I recieved a call with dead air and called back. The person answered the phone said something about "Verizon Wireless" but when I asked, "This is Verizon?" she replied, "Yes, we work with Verizon." If you dial 611 you will be connected with a Verizon represenitive - if not, don't assume anything else. The person asked for my cell number so she said she could figure out why I was called. This is a marketing call. I have reported this to the FTC web site (Federal Trade Commision), as should everyone who recieves this call. Remember...if you make *ANY* CHANGES to your contract, it begins a new term. . . whatever you sigend up for, 1 or 2 years, just starts over from day one (read the fine print). If you entered your # in the DNC registry, make a complaint on the FTC website.

2007-09-28 17:32:54 UTCPaul DePetrillo

I just called 800-310-5479 and it id'd as verizon wireless and I spoke to a representitive. I informed that all of the people on the do not call list that are listed on the internet "who called" site, will file a class action suit against them. Of course she thumbed her nose at me. We should get together and file a class action. Each violation could be costly.

2007-09-24 23:51:30 UTCSue

"Verizon" called to tell me that my contract was up, they knew my plan minutes, and how much I use the cell, said I was eligble for a "reduced" phone, and when I questioned the price, he said "your bill will say $50" for the new phone, so when I asked him to break down the prices for me, turns out I will be BILLED for $100, THEN have a mial in rebate- so NO BUDDY, my BILL will state $100, NOT $50!, Then after all that, turns out I will really be billed for $179, minus the $50 mail in rebate, to total $129, this guy totally couldn't do his math, so I told him I would go to a verizon store and hung up on him.

2007-09-24 17:29:29 UTCsjf

Same thing - I get 3 calls a day for the past several days. I finally called it back just now and was told they are a third party working for Verizon Wireless. They knew that I had gone over on my text messaging plan and wanted to offer an upgrade. The woman new my name and address just from seeing my number on the caller ID. I asked to be removed from the list.

2007-09-24 16:15:54 UTCsqueak

verizon telemarketing. like i am going to give them any more $ that what they are already bleeding out of me.

2007-09-24 15:12:07 UTCIan H

No one on the other end. Called back. Company is affiliated with Verizon. They are offering some "deal". Verizon gives them your number. Call it back and tell them you don't want them to call anymore. Also call Verizon and tell them to never share your number with a third party. If you continue to get calls, notify the FCC.

2007-09-19 02:28:24 UTCJill

I just started getting these calls, too. Go figure, right after I completed my obligatory 2 years with them after getting my last phone from them. For those that mention the Do Not Call list, they're not held to those restrictions if you're a Verizon customer. Anyone you do business with can call you whether you're on the DNC list or not because you have an existing relationship with them. The best way to get them to stop is for everyone ticked off by their repeated calls to switch to a different carrier, showing them that their relentless marketing is doing them no favors.

2007-09-15 19:55:39 UTCjai 30

Its a gimmick. If a person calls enough you will get annoyed and take matters into your own hands, like you are doing now-getting online, researching the calls, finding out their origin, and then finding a directory of shopping ideas of other websites or related topics then your hooked, then you forget what your there for. A common idea used for this purpose. Seems a little far fetched maybe but not out of possiblities of truth. Marketing can be very simple or complex. This is one of many numbers that are being used for this reason. Just use a callblock and dont let it get out of hand or lose your sanity. Good luck. The are outcalling numbers only. Some will have messages or just disconnect you. Large insurace companies use them a lot. The number is a decoy so you will answer. Some companies use local numbers the same way.

2007-09-14 16:09:01 UTCCol

2007-09-14 01:20:33 UTCMike

I got the same call and called verizon wireless customer care and they said they have no record of this number and cannot do anything for me.

2007-09-13 18:16:51 UTCM

This number has been calling periodically for weeks, but they never left voice mail. I finally answered to get rid of them.

The person calling was very courteous and explained that she was calling on behalf of Verizon Wireless to see if I am happy with my current cellular plan. I am, in fact a Verizon Wireless customer, but the calls were coming to my non-cellular line.

In response to my direct question, she said that the company she actually worked for was Voice Power Solutions. She offered to take my name off of their list so I would not receive any further calls.

2007-09-07 18:15:56 UTCme

It's not WA MU!!I don't do business with them. And it is not Hertz.

2007-09-05 17:09:30 UTCJack

I answered and they hung up on me. Called back and it was Verizon Wireless. I asked why Verizon would call me and hang up. Rep didn't know (he just accepts incoming calls - does not make them). He offered to renew my contract but I explained I just did that four days ago. He then offered me a free month of service if I would extend my contract by one week. I accepted.

2007-08-30 23:08:37 UTCn8

found it it's supposed to be verizon's renewal line. they called to let you know that your contract is about to be up.

2007-08-09 16:39:06 UTCJohn

This number is a agency calling on behalf of Verizon Wireless. Most likely your contract has expired or your eligible for a new phone and they would like you to sign up for 2 more years.

2007-08-08 18:23:43 UTCPapaLou

I answered the phone but no-one responded, so after saying "Hello" several times I hung up.

This number called my home phone tonight. I use Verizon, and my girlfriend has a Verizon cell phone, so maybe it's them. I don't like to be solicited by telephone, however, so I will let them know.

2007-07-07 00:25:09 UTCHao

I just got a call from this number. they asked me to renew my calling plan and then ask for the last 4 digits of my SSN and threaten to cancel my plan if I dont provide such info to them.....

2007-06-29 14:26:23 UTCMelanie

Every time I get a call from this "Verizon Wireless," all of the information they have for me is hopelessly out of date. They offer me a new phone when I've just recently upgraded, and they tell me that I am on some antiquated plan (which I am not, anymore). Do these people count on the fact that people don't know a) how much they're paying for phone service? and b) how recently they upgraded their phones?

2007-06-26 18:40:17 UTCM

If these calls ARE from Verizon AND you are a Verizon customer, they do not have to abide by the Do Not Call List, however, you can ask to be put on their INTERNAL DNC list. They must respect that.

2007-06-23 00:39:52 UTCJoan

Definitely verizon wireless (or a marketer for them). They wanted to give me a new phone for "free" and put me on a rate plan with more minutes. Some free phone -also had 2 activation fees - my advice - don't answer the phone!!

These people have called repeatedly daily for weeks. I finally picked up and told her we're on the National Do Not Call List. She said "I'll let you talk to my supervisor"!!! I asked if she was crazy and told her to take our number off their list and not to call even one more time.

2007-05-31 16:30:48 UTCChelle

its verizon wireless trying to get you to sign a new 2 year agreement

2007-05-22 17:37:06 UTCLC

Just got through to this number now. It is Verizon wireless and they are calling to let you know about early contract renewals and GREAT DEALS on new phones. Of course this number goes to a bunch of different locations and the location I received had no record of my number and couldn't stop the calls. My early renewal will be to Cingular...

2007-05-14 17:30:10 UTCStaci

This number called me right after signing my 2nd new contract with Verizon, claiming to be from Verizon and wanting my personal info like the last 4 of my SSN. If they are actually from Verizon, that information is all on the CONTRACT I filled out, so they shouldn't need it. DO NOT BE FOOLED by these jerks.
Now I never answer, but they still call once every day. I even reported it on the national "Do not call registry" and they still call.

2007-05-10 20:34:57 UTCAndre

So far, I've missed two calls from this number. I'm not looking forward to a repeat performance every day.

2007-05-10 18:48:38 UTCFrank R

I got called the other day and made a supervisor get on the phone- He confirmed that Verizon was calling me for an early renewal and that there was no scam- he also apoligized for the repeated calls saying that sometimes the computer will dial too fast and hang up on customers- said it was an error and they were working on it. I asked why didn't VZ leave me a message- he said they don't want to bother me with a message.

2007-05-09 17:39:08 UTCScott

Called 5/8/07 @12:22. I didn't answer and no message was left. My Verizon Wireless plan was up for renewal in March. I also keep getting calls from 1-800-261-1646. Actually 17 calls starting on 4/18/07. I didn't answer and no message was left. Wonder if this is Verizon too?

2007-05-09 15:50:09 UTCerik

called me the day after I donated money to NPR. The only place I gave my phone number to.

2007-05-02 20:39:58 UTCkaty

it's true. really. it's true.

my husband was getting these calls, and since I have verizon too (and want a new phone), I decided to investigate. the customer service rep didn't know what I was talking about, but she forwarded me to the marketing department... and they explained that the offer is, in fact, true. there is an "early upgrade" plan where if you extend your plan two years then you get a (whopping) $30 on a new phone. this is only available via phone, and not in-store or online. it's not that much of a deal... you'd think they would be offering *more* than the usual $100 credit. doesn't matter though... long and short of it... it's a real deal. whether or not the phone calls are related... well, who knows. BUT verizon really is offering early upgrades...

2007-05-02 00:03:17 UTCLN

Hmmm, after reading all of your comments on both this number and 660-626-1534, I wonder if they have any relations, since I've got called on my cell everyday for the past few days by those numbers (after I've rented a car with Enterprise). I never picked up and they never left messages.

2007-04-30 22:31:09 UTCEd

2-3 times a day for past week.

2007-04-30 15:41:54 UTCAshley

I have gotten about 15 calls in the past couple weeks from this number. They call, it rings once, they hang up and then keep calling back. UGH.

2007-04-28 20:22:20 UTCKeeks

This is totally a scam. I called Verizon and they've never heard of these people. Report the number to the police immediately if you get a call.

2007-04-28 17:05:06 UTCdeck

they called my home phone, but told me they were with verizon. wanted me to renew my plan and give me a free fone. it sounded scammish so i told them I'd call them back. If it was verizon, why wouldn't they call my verizon cell? why can't i renew in the store for my new phone? pretty shady.

2007-04-27 00:59:46 UTCMilt

Ringing me twice a day for two weeks... occasionally i pick up, then someone says, "is this (name)", I say "No, there's no one here by that name, please take my number off your list." the person promises, but the next day the "slave" dialer rings me again. Outrageous... if I call the number, a recording says, "thank you for your interest in verizon wireless services. Please hold on for the next available agent."

2007-04-26 16:22:41 UTCmatt

No message left. When I called back, I got amessage about having called a non working number!

2007-04-26 15:50:33 UTClue

who is this?

2007-04-25 21:36:40 UTCAS

This number called my cell phone many times. When I finally answered, it was Verizon Wireless asking if I would like to upgrade my phone (and therefore renew my 2-yr contract early so that my "New Every 2" would be active now). I've read that a lot of cell phone carriers are in a marketing frenzy to compete with AT&T and Apple's release of the iPhone in June. Could be related, and could explain why so many people are getting calls...

2007-04-24 21:58:52 UTCTim

I get calls each day. Usually get hung up on, one day I called back, and yes they claim to be Verizon wireless. I called Verizon customer service another day and asked about the number. They said they had no record and that if they were trying to contact me about anything that there would be a note in my file and that there was none. The girl and i both concluded that this must be a scam. She said if they continued to call after i told them not to I should call the police and there is no way they can block the number.
So, they called again today and I answered. And there was actually someone on the line! I believe his name was Jason. I told him what was going on and how I believed he was calling about a scam. He said no and that they didn't need my credit card. he claimed to be calling from VTS on behalf of Verizon. I told him to take me off his list, do whatever he had to do, but if that number called me again I would be calling the police and reporting a scam. I suggest everyone else does the same.

I saw someone else mention that the calls started after they activated a text messaging plan...that is also when mine started...what about everyone else??

2007-04-24 18:44:27 UTCsaguaro

Hung up when I answered. Called # back, and it is indeed Verizon Wireless calling about a new plan (contract) with unlim TXT msging. I am a Vzw customer, and asked not to call any more.

2007-04-21 23:09:54 UTCAggravated

These rat bastards have called everyday for two weeks and when you answer there is never a response. I called the number yesterday and advised the lackey who answered and identified as "verizon wireless" that I do not have a verizon wireless and am registered on the Do Not Call List. He assured me my number would be removed. Of course they called again today.

2007-04-20 23:41:41 UTCMichele

2007-04-20 15:35:51 UTCmer

Verizon Wireless - telling me I'm eligible for an upgrade on my cell phone, 6 months prior to my "New Every 2" anniversary. Sounds scetchy.

2007-04-18 15:45:29 UTCbarry

I was originally incorrect thinking it was WAMU (who used to hassle me with calls and never answering. I answered the phone this time and was notified that it WAS Verizon Wireless calling about some extras. I got even by having told him that JUST YESTERDAY, I switched to Cingular as Verizon didn't have the pda phone that I wanted (mine is dying). No more calls from Verizon for me. :)

Been getting hang up calls from this number everyday for the past few weeks. Annoying.

Called my business line - did not leave message.

I called back and finally talked to someone. Apparently it is Verizon wireless. The woman i talked to said that they recently installed a new dialer and that it has been malfunctioning and dialing people at random. I asked to be taken off the list, so it is possible. I think the dialer is run by Intella Services, and they, apparently, suck.

Called a few times this week with no message. Finally called back and got a telemarketer on behalf of Verizon trying to trick me into renewing my cell phone contract. Told them not to contact me again and they said no problem. Definitely the last straw with that company.

Its me guys, sorry. I'm bored.

2007-04-16 14:44:41 UTCEasy Fix

Just call Verizon Wireless - I just spoke with a rep - calls coming out of their Tampa Bay call center's auto-dialer, they should can remove you, but it takes about five minutes on hold for them to confirm - we'll see if this works...

I got 2 calls from this number over the weekend on my home phone. I am a Verizon Wireless customer but I don't have a Washington Mutual credit card account.

2007-04-14 15:54:18 UTCEric

Twice in the past two days. One I thankfully missed, the other was a call and hangup. I called it back on 11:50 AM on Saturday, and can confirm it is a Verizon wireless customer service number, but different than if one dialed *611 on their phone. It is a menuless system, and not automated. The hold music drove me nuts and I hung up without talking to anyone.

2007-04-14 15:47:50 UTCBarry

I BET you have a WAMU (Washington Mutual) credit card account.... Contact them and tell them to cease and decist(sp?) their automated caller (either warning you or more likely trying to sign you up for an extra 'feature' of theirs).

2007-04-14 00:40:42 UTCGregory

I ignored the call; no message was left.

2007-04-13 21:45:48 UTCClo

Just got my call! How annoying!

2007-04-13 20:07:56 UTCVincent

Hung up when I answered. I called back and it says it's Verizon Wireless. I was put on hold and then I hung up.

2006-08-23 01:15:12 UTCcindy

2006-08-17 14:03:10 UTCLAni

I have been receiving calls from 800-310-5479 for the last several days on MY CELL PHONE. When I answer they hang up, and well I call back - tells me that I have not called within business hours. HOW DO I MAKE THIS STOP?

How can we get in touch with Intella Services? What are they? Who are they? What do they want?

2006-08-15 18:59:55 UTCSeth

4 calls in the past 2 days. No pick up when I call back

2006-08-09 19:57:05 UTCDavid Feldman

I have been on DNC register for many months, yet I have been getting numerous calls from this phone number, and it hangs up if I answer it.

2006-08-09 15:57:03 UTCJP

Have called at least 20 times over past 2 weeks

2006-08-09 14:54:20 UTCmichael

calls every day at least once, then hangs up on answer. phone company will not block the call and i am on the dnc registry. reverse lookup and 800-555-1212 got me nowhere. no info or alternate numbers available. officials have been useless in this matter, even reporting them as dnc violators only places the number in a database. as far as i can tell, no one is doing anything about it.

2006-08-07 22:00:00 UTCjon krause

They have called 2-3 times per day over the last three weeks. ID says unavailable with the # 800-310-5479. Hangs up everytime I answer the phone. Call back to a recorded message from Intelliservices.
These people are true scum.

2006-08-04 20:25:16 UTCNadine

Calls everyday!! And when I answer they hang up on me! When I call back, it's a recording saying,"you've reached Intella Services, we are now closed...please call back during business hours, 8am-10pm"
Ummm, hello? I AM calling back between those hours!
HOW ANNOYING!!!!

2006-08-04 16:38:47 UTCMichael Dulik

Hangs up when I answer. Called the last five days. Sounds like telemarketers when I answer the phone.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
