It is amazing to me how often they will call you when you owe them money. But in my case, I paid my account in full recently, and can no longer get a hold of ANYONE to get the payment letter to prove I paid it in full! I call them every hour and get a message that their office is closed and it hangs up on me. So frustrating I have called about 30 numbers related to HSBC and always get the run around. They really need to learn how to do their job correctly.

2009-07-25 00:23:33 UTCalk

Yeah, I get these same calls at least 3-4 times a day. I'M SICK OF THIS. Everytime I see that number, I let it go to voice mail and ALL the time, they leave no messages. This is B.S. and when I answered the first time the
recording said "Please stay on the line, this is important". and it kept repeating, so I hung up. never again
did I answer the phone with that number. Why can't these Frickin people leave a message???? Idiots

2009-02-06 16:27:19 UTCelliot

2008-09-25 18:00:07 UTCJanjiz

As of yet I haven't received anymore calls but if I get anymore I'll call back and see what happens. Then I'll come back here and let you know what happened.

Hope this helps.

2008-09-25 17:59:54 UTCJanjiz

I've been receiving calls from this damn company since early January.. I finally looked it up cause I was getting anywhere from 10-15 calls a day from them. I used what you had said on here as the SS# and went through to a rep. They asked for my SS# again. I said no, That I had no idea why they kept calling my phone number and told them I was getting like 15 calls a day and messages. They asked me for my phone number. I gave it to them. The Lady said that my number was no where on their system... She asked me for the number that kept calling me. She said that (800)288-3811 was the collections part of their company. I told them I had no account with them and that I know for a fact that I don't owe them any money. She said she'd transfer me to the collections people. A lady answered and she asked if I had done my taxes with H&R Block. I said yes, but I did not take any loans on my taxes so I know I didn't owe anything. She asked for my Name and still could not find anything under my name. She said she would make a note and put me on a list to stop calling me. She was about to hang up and I asked to talk to the one that will be taking me off the calling list. She said that there's no way I can. I found this odd. I asked her if there was any way I can get some confirmation that it will be done. She gave me her name and her managers name and number with her extension. She said if the number called again to call back and file another complaint and speak with her manager.

2008-04-15 20:25:53 UTCsilver1

Is this the same hsbc located in Hyrum Utah,zip.84319?? But physical address is located south east off a dirt road in wooded mountains??????

2008-04-15 19:09:32 UTCsilver1

If you try to pay someone and the refuse then it is paid in full!!! They come off like they are the government. But they arn't because they gov. wouldn't ask for your ss# They allready have it!!!
Don't bother with talking to them it is just a waist of your time. Unless you want to have fun with them!!! Lead them on a wild goose chase tell them your some one els. Or give them a bogus ss#. You know get creative!!!!

2008-04-01 16:18:54 UTCEileen

I called back the number and entered 123-456-89 when it asked for SS#. The customer service rep asked if I had recently taken a loan out on my taxes and I reported I hadn't done them yet. She couldn't find any information under my phone number. She then asked for my social and I said no, and she said I don't blame you. She told me to call back to report calls if they continue.

2008-03-05 22:30:13 UTCSusan

They called 5x today already. I'm not gonna give out my snn over the phone. If they really want to know if its me there is other information I can give out. Yes, we have debt, but you know what? If you can't accept what I'm gonna pay, stop calling and take it out next year in our taxes.

2008-02-29 02:58:09 UTCnichole

I think it is a group that is also with maternity solutions they seem to be a scam
they want your credit card # right off the bat for pregnancy resources that are no help
I have asked them to stop calling more than twice and they never leave a message

2008-01-29 01:02:21 UTCirrate

I was finally able to figure out that these people are actually trying to track down my sister, but her phone is disconnected because she didn't pay the phone bill either. What the hell good would it do if I called back and put in my SS# or my wife's SS# since that is not the person they are looking for? It turns out these people have also been harassing my parents for several months now. What the hell right do these people have to harass people because they have relatives who are deadbeats? It's not my fault my sister doesn't pay her bills and it's not my job to do something about it, she is an adult and responsible for her own affairs. I'm telling everyone that I know not to do business with HSBC and reporting them to the FCC, these tactics are unacceptable.

2008-01-14 21:08:11 UTCCats

They called and i didn't answer because I never answer numbers I don't know. They didn't leave a message so I called back and I got a recording to enter my social. Of course I did NOT enter this information since I don't know if this is legit. I doubt they were calling for me since this is a work cell phone they are calling that used to belong to someone else... I think if they would just leave a message they will find that more people are willing to help them stop making useless calls.

2007-11-26 19:57:37 UTCjessica

WE HAVE TRIED TO SET UP A PAYMENT PLAN TO PAY BACK A WHOLE WAPPING 94 DOLLARS!!! BUT THEY JUST DONT WANT TO ACCEPT WHAT WE CAN AFFORD! SO YOU KNOW WHAT HSBC BANK... OH WELL, TAKE IT OUT OF OUR TAXES FOR THE NEXT YEAR! NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD TO JUST GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT IT!!! SOME OF US LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK... AND HAVE FAMILIES TO PROVIDE FOR, WE KNOW WE OWE THE MONEY, AND WE HAVE EVERY INTENTION TO PAY IT BUT IF YOU CANT TAKE THE AGREEMENT THAT WE PUT OUT THERE, WELL THEN I GUESS YOU WAIT IN LINE BEHIND ALL THE IMPORTANT BILLS LIKE... ELETRIC AND GAS AND GROCRIES FOR MY KIDS, AND GAS FOR MY HUSBAND TO GET TO AND FROM WORK SO WE CAN HAVE YOUR DAMN 94 FRICKEN DOLLARS! TRY TO BE A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTANDING AND I BET PEOPLE WOULD BE HAPPY TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR DEBT SOONER! DUH!!!

2007-09-19 18:55:26 UTCJackie

These people call me non-stop everyday Monday through Friday. They never leave a message. I answered a couple of times, but no one speaks on the other end. I dialed in once, and their computer immediately asks for my SSN . Weird.

2007-08-26 20:03:59 UTCdkw

Do not ever give out your ssn to anyone that calls you. Most company's have many other ways to identify you. This company is a phony.

2007-08-21 19:50:15 UTCFor the people

These clowns call at least 4 times daily I figure they want money from us out of a loan from a tax firm, you tell them they have to wait for the money or try and make arrangements and they still want to call, TOUGH SHIT you can wait for the money now, i guess thats what happens when you charge 625% of the amount of money financed and the tax firm or the irs fuck up and then they come after you for money. SCUMBAGS quit ripping Americans off with hidden disclosures, nobody in their right mind ever reads disclosures that are as long as the Declaration of Independence. Calling and bothering people all day long everyday, we should be able to charge you fuckers back for that. I think we should start charging $5.99 a minute every time they call or leave messages!!!!!

2007-08-14 20:59:31 UTCMucho

To the losers at HSBC...you're the ones who should get a life. If someone that you're trying to call is not the person you're looking for, then take a hint!! You've obviously have the wrong number. Either that or the dead beats you're looking for gave you the wrong info to begin with. That's your problem...ya schmucks! That's what you get for lending money to people that shouldn't have gotten it in the first place! You're the one's responsible for your lack of lending practices. What a bunch of sorry assed losers you are!! You should be napalmed to death!!! Maybe we should dump your rotten excuse for human beings down the sewer where ya belong!! Stupid bast'rds!!!!!!

2007-08-07 16:45:46 UTCHo Chi Minh

I hear from these Taliban losers at least once/twice a day for the past few weeks. They keep asking for some dead beat person, but I keep telling them they got da wrong numbah! Now I just tell them that the screwball they're looking for went to some far off country and for them to kiss my arse!! Get a life ya sheetheads!!!

2007-07-23 21:31:17 UTCjen

Also maybe I should go to a Pay Phone or Hospital phone and Call and Call them, saying nothing or saying something meaningless, just to waste their time and cost them money.

2007-07-23 21:23:20 UTCjen

These people call and call
its so annoying.I never answer.I've heard if you answer toll free service calls, it costs them money.
So maybe I should pick up the phone, Say Nothing and just cost them money.

2007-07-17 16:58:37 UTCMiss. Gonzalez

They WERE calling me 10+ time daily. HSBS Taxpayer Financial Services. These people call me at least 6 times a day! I pick up the phone. and it's a recording.

2007-07-13 20:41:24 UTCNot Tina

I'm going to sue these people. I know I dont owe them money. They call and ask for Tina, I tell them I dont know any Tina, they tell me they'll take me off the list, but they just keep calling

2007-07-13 15:05:11 UTCGilbert

I have been receiving calls nonstop from these people at least 3 or 4 times daily.

I finally called them, they insisted on getting my social security number over the phone and I told them NO. I told them to look it up under the phone they called and they can do that.

After I gave them the number they called the rude person on the other end said "I'm sorry, they were not supposed to call you".

So I then asked to get my name removed from being called and then her tone of voice changed and told me "No, I don't think so. We called on and we spoke to someone" and I told her so...if you're not supposed to call and you won't tell me why you're caling why are you calling??

She said I was playing games and they needed to call but won't tell me WHY!!!

After repeated times of of plugging my SSN number into their freaking system it keep saying it was not found...but yet the rep keeps insisting I give it to them. THEY ARE STUPID TO THINK I WILL WHEN I HAVE NO BUSINESS WITH THEM, PERIOD.

And you can see the attitude these morons have by the comment made by the "hsbc employee" dated April 16, 2007.

2007-07-12 17:42:16 UTCYarddog

received call on my cell phone, the previous owner was being asked for, not me. i informed the person on the other side that i am not the person they are seeking, i got no response and they hung up. i am going to pursue other options to get this dirt bag of a company to stop calling my cell phone.

2007-07-11 20:28:09 UTCMark

I was getting their calls all day, if you say nothing until they hang up will probably take your number off their call list. You need to wait until the computer hangs up, don't just hang up when you see their number.

2007-06-30 13:25:43 UTCLara

I get calls from HSBC literally 15 times per day! It starts when I am 2-3 days late on my bill. Mind you, I ALWAYS pay my bill, but sometimes I am a few days late. What right does HSBC have to call me 15 times daily?!?!?! I could almost understand it if my truck was about to be repossessed, but I have never even been close to that!

2007-06-15 16:05:25 UTCIdentity victim

Now you tell me, who exactly is the "MORON" here? Is what the statement was supposed to say. Typo.

2007-06-15 15:56:08 UTCIdentity victim

In reference to the below note. This HSBC Employee is the "MORON". Your company let someone steal my wife's identity & they have my cell phone as her phone number. You are the ones that need to verify someones information properly! The IRS knows this is fraud & we have overnighted your forgery notary paperwork. If your company had any clue, they would be able to determine that the signatures on the checks are not a womans signature. Also, we Googled the address used & it is also a fraudulent address. The address used is main highway. Now you tell me, who exactly is the "MORON" her?

hsbc employee

You people are morons, i work for HSBC Taxpayer Financial Services and its not fraud,YOU OWE US MONEY, if you guys would get a life and pay your damn bills we wouldnt have to call you now would we. This is what we do, if we call you or someone you live w/ that person had taken out some sort of loan against there taxes, such as rapid refund, holiday loans, instant money loans, refund anticipation loans, now that sounds familiar dosnt it, now pay your damn bills you low lifes!!!!

2007-06-07 14:27:08 UTCBossman

called for an employee

2007-05-07 23:44:29 UTCchristina

they called my house earlier today and i called them back. i got an automated message asking me for my social and i just entered 123456789. i got through to a rep and asked them what reason would they call someone and he told me "i wouldnt know" and then he told me i could wait until they call me back and explain to me why they called and i said ok.

2007-05-06 17:28:37 UTCjd

Thanks, I have the hsbc employee comments too,It will be useful in court or filed in other useful places, should I ever need it.

2007-04-20 15:05:52 UTCCC

Dear HSBC employee:

I think it is ironic that you refer to the people who posted messages here as "morons." As a matter of fact, by name calling and using profanity towards people you perceive to be your debtors, you not only demean yourself, and reflect poorly on HSBC, but, ironically you appear to be ignorant about the laws under which HSBC and you as their rep, are governed. Otherwise, you would never identify yourself as an HSBC employee and then post, in a public forum, such a boldly abusive message.

BELOW IS A BRIEF QUOTED SUMMARY FROM A FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION PUBLICATION, REGARDING THE USE OF HARASSING PHONE CALLS & PROFANITY TOWARDS YOUR DEBTORS.

"What types of debt collection
practices are prohibited?

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass,
oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they
contact. For example, debt collectors may not:
• use threats of violence or harm;
• publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay
their debts (except to a credit bureau);
• use obscene or profane language; or
• repeatedly use the telephone to annoy
someone."

This and more information on consumers' rights regarding fair debt collection practices can be found at the following web link: ucan.net

I for one will use your post should I ever find myself needing to demonstrate to the courts that HSBC employs such practices!

2007-04-20 14:40:39 UTCCC

I too receive several calls per day from this company. Their phone # and "Name Unavailable" is what shows up on my caller ID. I have answered a couple of their calls and can confirm that the calls are coming from HSBC. I have stopped answering since, I explained my circumstances to them and there is nothing more to discuss. I have every intention of paying my debt at the earliest possible time. The calls seem like a form of harassment.

Aging mother-in-law has received repeated messages on her answering machine. She is told this is an important financial matter. When the number is called, a recording requires Social Security number and will allow no movement into the sytem w/o SS number.

2006-10-13 13:52:53 UTCAlly

They WERE calling me 10+ time daily. HSBS Taxpayer Financial Services.
They want your SSN. Won't tell you what for. Won't tell you what services they are trying to provide. If you ask them why they need it, are they trying to steal your identity, etc. they become beligerent and swear. I requested removal from their list. Hopefully that will happen. So far no calls today.

2006-09-28 02:54:14 UTCjakki

these people call me at least 6 times a day! I pick up the phone. and it's a recording

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
