MEDCO called at 11 a.m. - an otherwise respectable time.
Medco is NOT A PROVIDER as such - they are a subordinate to lots of big providers. They are nothing more than an online/mail-order pharmacy. The Blue Cross / Aetna / Humana / etc. providers contract with Medco to handle members' med/Rx needs.
Nothing to lose for taking this call - they don't do "collections" and for some folks, there is a chance to save on presciption meds. For me, I don't use any Rx that Medco can save me $$ on, and I agree - the best way to do business is NOT to conceal your ID when you are basically cold-calling "members". If your actual provider, or your employer (for larger, self-insuring companies) has your phone number, Medco will eventually get around to using it.

Received a 3rd call from this number again today, this time a person was on the phone and when I asked him how he had my phone number he said that Medco was my provider, told him no, they are not, as I know who my provider is and told him not to call this number again as it us Unlisted and it is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY LIST!!!

Um, Fred-- do you work for this company? Medco is NOT my provider, they are just randomly calling and looking for business. My caller ID says unknown caller. A true business would have their name come up.

This is from your benefit provider in regards to your scrip coverage - not a scam - they just want to keep your costs down by having you go through their mail order service OR they need to talk to you about your policy. Take this call. It could save you tons of money. NOT A SCAM

PS - this number called on 10/18/08 at 12:45pm - hung up just before answering machine picked up. They are determined someone will answer if they keep calling. But I will never answer ..... so when they are dialing me they are not able to dial someone else.

calling at 7:45pm - let phone ring just short of answering machine picking up. Reverse lookup reveals unpublished number - what a shock! :-) Thankful for caller ID

Hungup when call answered.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
