I've been wanting something like that for years. Anyone who knows
where to get such a device, please post the information here.
Alternately I'd like a device that can be programmed with phone
numbers I already know about, and anyone else who knows a secret
code, to ring, but all other calls coming in do *not* ring but
instead pick up the call silently and play an outgoing message
telling how they can contact me over the InterNet to negotiate
permission to get white-listed to call my phone. Anybody know
anything that will ring my phone *only* for people whom I've
specially permitted somehow?

For this specific church-telemarketer, I have an additional idea:
Find out where these churches are that are being telemarketed,
and go there and totally disrupt the service, denouncing the
people in charge of the church who used donations not for
legitimate religious purposes but to hire telemarketers to harass
thousands of people in their homes in an effort to get a few of
them to come join the church and donate more money to hire more
telemarketers to harass more people to get more money round and
round like a chainletter scam. Greed like that is surely a sin,
if there is any such thing as sin.

I called the number and received the message that the number had been disconnected.

A computer calling with recording, "If you would like to hear about a great church in your area, please press 1 now." No option to stop them from calling again is offered. Why is FCC permitting this?!

The bit of recording I heard was as others have reported: "an interesting new church in the area."

I was asked if I was interested in a new church in my area. I was asked to press # 1. When I pressed 1 it said that was an invalid action and hung up. I wonder what the scam is ???

Someone called our home phone from this # every 10 minutes for several hours yesterday.

I am on the DNC list. This # called me this afternoon. I did not pick up. No message was left on my machine.

The caller ID listed the caller name as 'unavailable'

Everyday they call, atleast twice. Tonight it was almost 9:00 pm.

*69 should this number. The recorded message said "If you would like to hear about an interesting new church coming to your area, press 1." Calling back the number resulted in "this number is not reachable from your area.

Just got my first call from this number - did not answer phone. I'm really getting sick and tired of these FUCKING morons calling my house. They can KISS MY ASS !!!!!!!!

They are driving us crazy. They call 15-20/day. I'm reaching the point of having our number changed.

Called this morning - my first time seeing this number. Reported to DNC - we'll see what happens now..I've been on the DNC for over a year and this is the first telemarketing call I've received.

Wow, getting into the good graces of god by associating with jerks that harass thy neighbor.

This is a huge network of credit card scamers, I have been traking them for moths, they will claim to be several diferent places: here is a list of names they use; Kay bank, financial services, alied collections and international conections.

they work out of; Panama, costa rica, Florida, arizona, ontario canada, south korea and india.

give no information to these people, if called you must contact the authorites

why do we get call blocking and still get these annoying calls

Here we go again. Got another call from these morons. It's New Mercy Community Church and the recording says the website is newmercy.net. F**king idiots.

Calls every day around 1300. Filed a complaint.

Ugh, they called again on 2-2-07 at 7:40pm and then yet again on 2-3-07 at 11:30am! >:(

i didn't answer either time (they left no message) and the caller ID just read "TOLL FREE CALL"

I answered and got a recorded message saying: "If you would like to hear about an interesting new church coming to your area, press 1."

How did they get my number is what I want to know. I am not a religious individual and have no interest in hearing about their church. I'm on the Do Not Call Registry and nearly every charity org. that has called has kindly removed me from their lists. How do I get off this one?

This number calls morning, noon, and night. As late as 9:30pm. I really need to report them!

Started calling three days ago. Now four calls and rising. The recorded message asks "If you would like to hear about an interesting new church coming to your area, press 1." No other info is passed along and there appears to be no way to STOP THESE IDIOTS!

If you want to complain about calls showing this number, the RESPORG is PRIMETEL @ 888-774-6383. They are NOT friendly! The number is probably part of some scam operation.

IT HAS CALLED THE LAST 3 DAYS WHEN I ANSWER IT SAYS NOTHING, I SAY NOTHING, THEN IT HANGS UP! IF YOU CALL THE NUMBER BACK FROM MY AREA I GET A NON COMPLETION RECORDING THAT IT CAN'T COMPLETE THE CALL FROM MY CALLING AREA. I TRIED THE LD CARRIER FOR THE NUMBER BUT SO FAR THEY JUST TAKE MESSAGES NO HUMANS.

I keep posting the good news and 2 of you have emailed me for info. I got sick and tired of these calls late last year. The DNC list is bogus and does nothing.

I tried everything Bellsouth had to offer (very little, very expensive) and nothing worked. I Googled and Googled and soon found the Interceptor ID device. It looks just like a caller ID, hooks up the same way.

BUT, once you program this bad boy, the calls from these assholes disappear. The device ~Intercepts~ (clever, right?) them and forces the call to a dead-end port in the device. All your other calls come right through.

I had 5 "800" calls today. I never heard a phone ring and there are no messages. I know they called, it's a caller ID with memory.

I get to look at the day's "catch" and laugh my ass off at these guys. It's the best $100.00 I've ever spent. If you want to know more, drop me a note to my email, jimmyjoker at gmail dot com and I'll be happy to share some notes with you.

they call up to four times a day. pressed one once as that is the only option and no there was nothing further. sometheing has to be done...!

They call multiple times a day and started four days ago. I answered once and they had a recording that directed pressing "one" for more information about a new exciting church opening in my area. The use of a recording and computer to dial multiple times is very annoying.

"Church" trying to sell copies of "The Purpose-Driven Life". Someone needs to lose their tax-exempt status. I'm sure hell is full of telemarketers.

i've been getting two and three calls a day from this number! the one time i did pick up there was nothing on the other end.. i guess i hung up too soon

If you're on the do not call list then report these scumbags (donotcall.gov). The name in the recording I received is "New Mercy Community Church". Best match web site is newmercy.tv.

They call, but leave no message. Must not be important.

I get a phone call twice a day at least from this number. It's ridiculous!
Today I got calls from them at 10:42 a.m. AND 12:50 p.m.

They called yesterday, and again today, saying "Press 1 for more information about a new church." Next time they call, I will press 1 for more information, call the church, and PROMISE legal action if they call again...

3rd call (2nd again today!) same recorded msg. - activated msg. from "Love of Christ Church" 'selling' services and offering to mail information. Must have gotten phone number from my daughter who attended once.

Every other day, whether morning, afternoon, or night, they call. They don't say anythingm they just hang up. It's getting really annoying.

Nearly everyday with out fail, a call from this co. End up either ignoring, or clicking on then off the phone to stop the ringing.

I get a phonecall nearly every day from this number. Annoying!
